StampinByHannah Make It Monday Designer Series Paper Birthday Card

Make It Monday

This weeks Make It Monday video tutorial is the perfect card to make with the left overs from your April Stamp of the Month Club kit! This month’s kit features a heap of goodies from the Picture Perfect Birthday suite, and is perfect for making Birthday cards for all your friends and family! (yes, guys included!)

Quick and Easy Birthday Card Tutorial Using Picture Perfect Birthday from Stampin' Up!

I have made this style of card before, and its definately not a new idea… but it is PERFECT for using up those scraps of Designer Series Paper. This is the time of year I go into over drive mode using Designer Series Paper, with Stampin’ Up! OnStage just around the corner, and a new catalogue on the way. It’s time to clear those paper shelves in preparation for some fabulous new designs that are coming really soon!

This card (believe it or not) doesn’t rely heavily on set measurements… I would suggest measuring your scraps and going from there. But here are the measurements I have used:

Measurements:

Check out my new Standard Card Measurements Page for my card base measurements!

Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper;

  • 14.3 x 10 cm
  • 6 x 9.5 cm
  • 7.5 x 4.5 cm

Pool Party Card stock;

  • 6.5 x 10 cm
  • 8 x 5 cm
  • 4.5 x 6 cm

The sentiment is taken from the coordinating Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set, and the finishing touch is a bow in Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon.

Thoughtful Thursday | One Little Word March 2018

One Little Word using Memories and More from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday One Little Word March 2018

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

In January I started a year long mindfulness project. One Little Word is a fabulous self-paced class from Ali Edwards that encourages you to pick a focus word for the year. My word is Grow… and I am encouraging myself to grow as a person, develop coping strategies for my anxiety, loose weight, and really focus on some me time. And that is what my One Little Word album gives me, Me Time. One Little Word Video Round Up How to do One Little Word

Each month Ali gives a prompt to help you focus on your word, and March was the ‘Practice’ month. This was our opportunity to challenge ourselves to complete something each day of the month (As you can see… I didn’t quite manage mine). My personal goal this month was to do 9000 steps a day. Now, this is super easy when I’m working my day job, but MUCH harder when I’m crafting and blogging and running my business. The fact that I haven’t managed 9000 steps every day isn’t a failure, its another opportunity for growth (get it!)… and my goal will continue into April.

One Little Word Practice month monthly step goal fit bit papercraft

March was my ‘New Me’ month… I know most people do this sort of re-set in January, but March works SO much better for me! By now we have got past both mine and James’ birthdays, all the festive chocolate has long gone, plus James has just finished his degree and actually started his job this week (can you tell I’m excited about that!)… so my March step goal was my lead into my new health and fitness plan. I started Slimming World on Monday, so that combined with my steps, and a goal to exercise more… the new, slimmer me, should be coming soon!

Seeing as March is the end of a quarter I thought I would share a video of my album so far. I hope you enjoy, but do let me know if you want to see these more regularly, as I can do them monthly or maybe even as a process video if that is what you would like to see!

One Little Word Monthly round up video Pocket Scrapbooking Card ideas

Each month Ali gives us some fabulous print-ables, and this month we got a monthly tracker, as well as a fun practice card. However, seeing as this month’s spread was a little sparse on the crafting I decided to create my own! Most of my album so far has used the Perfect Days Memories and More card pack, and so I grabbed one of the 6 x 4″ cards. Unfortunately Stampin’ Up! doesn’t currently have an alphabet stickers, and I don’t have any alphabet stamps that were the right size. So I dug into my stash (I have a draw of contraband goodies that I use for scrap-booking… and my wedding album!) and found these fun Chipboard letters. They were actually a funky red colour, but a Sharpie Marker quickly took care of that!

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Picture Perfect Birthday and Facebook Live…

Make It Monday

This week’s Make It Monday is a little late, but I hope that you enjoy it anyway. This past week has been crazy busy, and I just didn’t get chance to film over the weekend as it was James’ birthday yesterday. So, to make up for it, I thought I would do a short Facebook Live and a special project instead.

How to make a fun Birthday card using Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

I had heaps of fun making this card on Facebook Live earlier… Don’t worry if you missed it, I have the re-run below. I am LOVING Facebook Live, and you don’t have long to wait before my next one. April’s Facebook Live Online Card Class is on the 3rd April at 2PM, Like my Facebook Page and RSVP to the event to get reminders, and never miss a Live again!

This fun card features both the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set and the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper… both of which feature in April’s Stamp of the Month Club. More coming about that at the weekend!

How to make a card using Faux Watercolour with Watercolour Wings from Stampin’ Up!

How to make a card using Faux Watercolour with Watercolour Wings from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah How to make a card using Faux Watercolour with Watercolour Wings from Stampin’ Up!

Stamping Techniques Series

Today’s video features one of the those techniques that I use so often that I forget to mention it! I know… I’m so bad! But, it’s super pretty and really easy. I actually used this one on my husbands Valentines card this year.

How to make a card using Faux Watercolour with Watercolour Wings from Stampin' Up!

Faux watercolour is super easy to do… all you need is a fairly solid stamp, Stampin’ Up! ink and an Aqua-Painter. It creates a really pretty, soft effect, and is a great way to add that extra something to a card. I do of course have a couple of Top Tips:

  • Use Thick Whisper White card stock, Shimmery White card stock, or Watercolour paper
  • Ensure your ink pads are well inked and nice and juice-y
  • Use an Aqua-Painter that has plenty of water in it, but don’t squeeze… the water will naturally come out of the Aqua-painter as you use it, but if you squeeze you might flood your card stock and spread the ink too far
  • Have fun!

How to make a card using Faux Watercolour with Watercolour Wings from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment on this card is taken from the Beautiful You stamp set, and is punched out with the 1-3/4″ circle punch and matted onto the Pretty Label punched from Island Indigo.

How to make a fun eclipse card using Amazing You from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Amazing You Sale-a-bration Eclipse Card

Make It Monday

I cannot believe it has taken me quite so long to create an Eclipse card! Pinterest has been full of these for probably about 12 months, and at one point I resisted jumping on the band-wagon… until now! The Celebrate You Thinlits just lend themselves perfectly to this technique, and after I created my husbands Valentines card using it, I just HAD to make another just for you!

Bright Fun and easy Eclipse card using Celebrate You from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration

I am still loving the Amazing You Stamp Set and Celebrate You thinlits that are available for FREE during Sale-a-bration! That flower is just so pretty, and I am going to be really sad to see it go at the end of the month. However, the Celebrate You thinlits WILL be available in the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue… but surely its better to get them now for FREE than to pay for them in June?! right!

I think I’ve covered all my top tips for my Eclipse Card in the video…. but if you have any questions to use the comments section below to ask me

Isn’t that colour combination so much fun! I can see this one coming back out again soon… Remember that you can click the colour names above to see all the goodies available from Stampin’ Up! in that particular colour

How to make a fun eclipse card using Amazing You from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration

The second stamp set at work here is Heart Happiness. I just needed something a little extra, and the hearts were just the perfect addition.

Before I go today, I just want to mention about Sale-a-bration! We are in the final 2 weeks of this fabulous offer… and Stampin’ Up! offered even more last week. Sale-a-bration ends on the 31st March, be sure to get your orders in before 10:59PM so you don’t miss out!

These stamps layer together to create some really pretty effects, and I know that you could make this card several times over and each time they would look different
