Watercolour with Jar of Love

Pinkies Team Design Challenge Colouring Watercolour with Jar of Love from Stampin' Up! UK

Hello folks! I’ve been challenged (again!) to share a card using colouring today. One of my team leaders, the gorgeous Michelle Last, sets us a challenge every other month, and you know what I’m like, I cannot pass on either an opportunity to colour or to take part in a challenge!

Pinkies Team Design Challenge Colouring Watercolour with Jar of Love from Stampin' Up! UK

So, we were challenge to create a card using a colouring, and I ALMOST selected an image I could colour… but then I had a think and decided that I would ‘colour’ a background.

The card base is Bermuda Bay, with a layer of Basic Grey, and finally a layer of Shimmery White Card stock. Now, I LOVE to watercolour on my cards, but watercolour paper is kinda pricey, well Shimmery White is a great alternative, it watercolours great, it’s smooth, and it’s a bit cheaper too! So, I grabbed my Aqua Painters and some Bermuda Bay ink and watercoloured a background to ground my Vellum jar.

The flowers are also stamped on Shimmery White, in Rose Red, and once I had die cut them (loving the coordinating dies that are bundled with Jar of Love!) I spritzed them with a whole heap of water and left them to sit a while – this caused the ink to bleed and run, creating a variation in colour when I dabbed the water off with a piece of kitchen towel.

I haven’t added a sentiment yet, I know, I really should, but I’m saving that part until I have a suitable recipient!

Global Design Project 057 – Colour Challenge

Global Design Project Colour Challenge using Garden in Bloom from Stampin' Up! UK

Hello! I am loving the colour challenge over at the Global Design Project this week; a great combination of Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron

gdp057

Now, you guys no how much I love a bit of white space, and so White always features on my projects, but this time I just couldn’t picture using one of these colours for my card base either; so I have added a touch of Crumb Cake to ground my design. Now, I’m sure that adding a neutral was allowed by the GDP, but now I can’t find it in the guidelines, oh well! Here is my card anyway

Global Design Project Colour Challenge using Garden in Bloom from Stampin' Up! UK

I’m still holding onto the last moments of summer, even though it is getting distinctly cold around here, I’m just not ready for Winter and Christmas yet! And this colour combination felt summer-y to me, so I grabbed for Garden in Bloom and made a summer-y Birthday card!

The Rich Razzleberry flower was stamped separately and fussy cut, before being added to the card with a dimensional.

The sentiment is from the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set, I’m still loving the combination of those fonts, so pretty.

Global Design Project 057 using Garden in Bloom from Stampin' Up! UK

The flower centres are super easy to do too – punched out using the Blossom Builder Punch, and then I used to Faux Suede technique to create these cute dimensional flowers (video on that one coming soon!)

Thanks for visiting StampinByHannah today, hope to see you here again soon!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge – September 2016

Watercolour card using Frosted Medallions from Stampin' Up! UK for the Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge

Stampin' Up! Sketch ChallengeHello! I am so pleased to be back and sharing with the Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! You may have noticed that we took last month off (August is just too busy already!) but we are back this month with a great challenge set by the gorgeous Mandy Barton! Although, we have no sketch! The challenge set to us was …. Anything Goes!

How scary! and I will admit that I have been wracking my brains on this one for most of the month, and actually only managed to create my project on Thursday evening! (and this blog post was only written at 8AM this morning, nothing like a deadline!) I am usually more organised, but this past week has been just crazy busy – I was at a team training event last weekend, and then my job has really kicked in this week too. Anyway, that’s enough of my moaning! Time for my card ….

Watercolour card using Frosted Medallions from Stampin' Up! UK for the Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge

This stamp set was gifted to me last weekend, and although it had caught my eye in the catalogue it hadn’t found it’s way into my craft room – but my lovely team leader is just a little bit psychic and always managed to send me things that I either LOVE and use all the time, or things that I LOVE but haven’t managed to purchase yet! This medallion it just so pretty, and I couldn’t not heat emboss it as it’s first use!

Saying that, the heat embossing is a little bit special, and a mixture of clear and copper heat embossing. I heat embossed the medallion in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and then while I still had the powder melted I added a few pinches of Copper Embossing Powder too.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Frosted Medallions watercolour card using Stampin' Up! UK products

The background was created using Rose Red, Sweet Sugarplum and Tempting Turquoise. I just love this watercolour technique, I think I have a video on it somewhere, will have a look and share later in the week.

Oh, and before I go, the last totally cool technique I have used on this card is using the Fine-Tip glue pen to create little raised dots, that are almost like water droplets. So pretty!

Right, on-wards with the blog hop! Please use the NEXT button to hop on to the fabulous Sally Shaw, I cannot wait to see what she has created

A Gift of Night of Navy

Gift of Love Hostess Exclusive 2 step stamping card using Stampin' Up! UK products

Hello July! I can’t believe we are already well into the Summer (not that the weather has realised!). I am so looking forward to this month, check back tomorrow for the launch of my new Stamp of the Month Club.

Gift of Love Hostess Exclusive 2 step stamping card using Stampin' Up! UK products

I love this colour combination; Night of Navy, Watermelon Wonder and Emerald Envy. The Night of Navy really makes the other two colours pop without the harshness of Black.

This stamp set is just awesome too. Gift of Love is one of the new Hostess Exclusive stamp sets that launched in June. In order to get this one you have to host a party with me, or place an order of over £150. It is designed to use the 2-step stamping technique, where the outline image is stamped first and then the solid images are added after.

Gifts of Love 2 step stamping Stampin' Up! UKI’ve been playing with distressed edges a little bit recently too. Here the layer of Whisper White and the layer of Watermelon Wonder were distressed with my fingernail. I know that the Paper Piercing packs have been retired, but I still love the look so I have added some pierced holes too.

The card is finished with a card base in Night of Navy, embossed with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

Sitting Here One Layer Card

One Layer Card using Sitting Here from Stampin' Up! UK

I love a simple card, don’t you. This card is super simple, a simple stamped one layer wonder!

One Layer Card using Sitting Here from Stampin' Up! UK

My July Technique Class booking closes today, this month we are trying Masking. This stamp set – Sitting Here – is perfect for this one, although I promise that not all the cards we are making at class are as simple as this one!

The trick here is to stamp the cushion first, then mask it off with a piece of sticky note (or copy paper would work) and stamp the Swing Bench over the top. I love using Masking on my cards, and will often mask of an area for my sentiment, I would love you to join me at Class. To book your place drop me an email today!

Sitting Here….

Sitting Here from Stampin' Up! UK

One of my favourite parts of my business is connecting with you guys; whether it be here on my blog, over on Facebook, or at one of my Live Events, I really enjoy chatting and sharing stamping with you. I’m currently prepping for my July events; Stamp of the Month Club and my Techniques Class, and have been making heaps of samples with the stamp sets I’m planning on using.

Sitting Here from Stampin' Up! UK

This card was totally inspired by this YouTube video from UnderstandBlue. My July Technique class is all about Masking, and we are using the Sitting Here stamp set from Stampin’ Up! (of course!) and while this card doesn’t use the masking technique at all, I had heaps of fun colouring those cushions!

The swing seat was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder – side note: black card stock is the reason the Embossing buddy exists, I forgot to use it here and you can totally tell! I had embossing powder everywhere! The cushions were stamped separately onto Whisper White card stock and coloured with the new with Stampin’ Write Markers in the new In-Colours; Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach, Emerald Envy and Sweet Sugarplum. Then the cushions were fussy cut out, and given dimension using a ball tool. This is super simple; just place the pieces face down onto your Stampin’ Pierce Mat, and rub over the back with a ball tool – the longer you rub the more curve they get, leaving you with great cushion shapes. Pop these onto the card with dimensionals, simple.

To book onto my July Technique Class just drop me an email

Booking closes on the 28th June at 9pm. Class costs £36

Happy Birthday Cupcake!

2-step stamping birthday card using Sweet Cupcake from Stampin' Up!

I love sending handmade Birthday cards, and I am sure that you make more birthday cards than any other kind. So I always enjoy coming up with fun and different birthday cards, because lets be honest here – that’s why we send home made, because its a little different from everyone elses!

2-step stamping birthday card using Sweet Cupcake from Stampin' Up!

I made this card recently for James’ friends little girl, who turned 10 (I think) on Monday. She loves James, and is always upset when she finds that he’s been round while she has been at school. So, James always likes to make a special effort for her birthday (and so I always make card!).

This card uses the Sweet Cupcake Bundle (save 10%!). The Cupcake base is stamped in Sahara Sand, Tip Top Taupe and Chocolate Chip, while the Icing is Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum with a hint of Gold Wink of Stella for some extra sparkle.

Sweet Cupcake Birthday Card Stampin' Up! Uk

This stamp set is totally designed for 2-step stamping. There are 3 stamps for the cupcake, and another 3 for the icing, and then the are 2 to make the candle too! PLUS the awesome coordinating die set to cut the whole lot out (with some extra’s too!) I LOVE it!

Birthday Card using Sweet Cupcake from Stampin' Up!

James always requests that I stamp the inside of the card too (something I often forget!) and he loved the extra cupcake inside! So cute!

Sneak Peak | Sending a Smile Your Way

Love you Lots Love and Affection Card using Stampin' Up! UK Products

Ok, So the Annual Catalogue goes live tonight! well, at about 2Am, so its kinda tomorrow morning, but I will be asleep as I am at work tomorrow (and Thursday and Friday), but I will have a blog post and email scheduled for you guys tomorrow.

I thought I would share the cards I included in with my catalogues today. I just love this frog, he is so super cute! He comes from one of the new Hostess exclusive Stamp Sets – Love you Lots. This set is available if you spend over £150 or host a party that spends over £150.

Stampin' Up! UK Love you Lots Cards

These cards were sent out with my customer catalogues, I sent them totally blank and ready for the recipients to send to their loved ones.

Love you Lots Love and Affection Card using Stampin' Up! UK ProductsThese cards all used the same Masking technique that I discussed last week in the Pinkies Blog Hop. The frog is stamped in Archival Basic Black ink onto Thick Whisper White, and once the ink was dry I covered in Fine-Tip glue. I really love this type of masking, although it takes a little while as the glue has to be completely dry before adding any ink. The tags are sponged in Sweet Sugarplum and either Emerald Envy or Dapper Denim depending on the card base colour.

Love you Lots Love and Affection Stampin' Up! UKThe sentiment is taken from Love and Affection, another new stamp set coming tomorrow!!! Yay!

Pinkies Blog Hop | Annual Catalogue Sneak Peaks

Masked Note Cards set Featuring Love You Lots In Colours Dapper Denim Emerald Envy Sweet Sugarplum Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Up! UK

blog hop logo (1)

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We’re showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

Note cards featuring Love You Lots from Stampin' Up! UK

I am in love with this years new In-Colours! I thought I would share 4 of them here today, purely because my chosen stamp set only has 4 stamps! So, let me introduce you to; Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim and Flirty Flamingo! The fifth colour is a beautiful orangey/peach called Peekaboo Peach, and I will be sharing a card featuring it on Saturday.

Dapper Demin Love you lots masking note card Stampin' Up! UK

I decided to make a set of note cards for today’s Pinkies Blog Hop, featuring a couple of my favourite stamp sets from the upcoming Annual Catalogue, as well as a technique I found recently whilst trawling through Pinterest – Masking using the fabulous Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

The Stamp set is called Love you Lots. I am head over heals for this one, super cute animals and a couple of sweet sentiments – I am sold! This is one of the new Hostess Exclusives launching on 1st June, and available to order when you host an event or spend over £150 in a single order. I

I first stamped the cute animals in Archival Basic Black ink and gave them a minute or two to dry before covering the stamped image with the Fine-Tip glue pen. The metal tip makes it super easy to ‘colour in’ the image, making sure that the whole image is covered. It takes a couple of hours to dry, I have used this technique on some cards that are going out with my catalogues this week and I left those over night, but a couple of hours is really all you need.

Emerald Envy Note Card featuring Love You Lots from Stampin' Up!Then once the image is dry, I stamped over them with another new stamp set; Playful Backgrounds. I’m loving this set too! 4 cool backgrounds that you can layer and extend. After stamping I also sponged more ink onto the corner of each piece, the ink that lands on the dry glue just wipes away as the glue acts as a resist, leaving the stamped critters white while the rest of the area is coloured.

Masked Note Cards set Featuring Love You Lots In Colours Dapper Denim Emerald Envy Sweet Sugarplum Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Up! UKHere is the complete set, as you can see I made a couple of boo-boos with the glue on the Ladybirds and the Hedgehogs, but they are still super cute! I will be sharing the other cards I made with the same technique next week after the arrive with my customers.

Have fun around the rest of the hop, I can’t wait to see what the other Pinkies have made!
