Sketch Challenge| Global Design Project 018

Stampin' Up! UK Just Saying Hello

Hello!

Sorry for my slightly late post for today, been trying to catch up on photographing my projects this morning, and time sort of ran away from me a little bit! I’ve actually been quite prolific this weekend, and have made a stack of cards – which makes me feel so much better as I was beginning to think that my crafting mojo had up and left! but a stressful weekend of work On Call has led me back to my crafty stress relief!

Anyway, I thought I would take a sketch challenge today, I’ve been following the Global Design Project for a little while, but actually jumping in and creating anything for one of the challenges has been somewhat of a challenge in itself! Well, this week I’m on holiday from my day job (thank goodness!) and so am taking time to craft and blog. So this morning I was having a little browse through Facebook and was reminded of this challenge by the lovely Michelle Last.

So here is my take on this weeks Global Design Project Sketch Challenge!

Global Design Project sketch challenge 018

I love a good sketch challenge! speaking of which the Simple Sketched Saturday Challenge Blog Hop is back this week! Yay! I have been sitting on my project for this weekend for a while, I can’t wait to share! anyway, getting back to THIS sketch challenge…..

Stampin' Up! UK Global Design Project Sketch Challenge

I’m still trying super hard to cut into my packs of Designer Series Paper. I am determined not to have heaps of the stuff left at the end of the this Annual catalogue (unlike last year!) and so am trying to use papers more on cards. Now, I know I have sinned here; layering two patterns one on top of the other without card stock between, but somehow I think it works. I love this paper in particular; its the English Garden Designer Series Paper from the annual catalogue, it is gorgeous! I’m a sucker for colour and at the moment I am totally in love with all things Rose Red.

Stampin' Up! UK Just Saying Hello

The ‘Hello’ is taken from the Hello Stamp Set (in this years Sale-a-bration offering) along with that cute smiley face. Hello is stamped in Rose Red and fussy cut with my paper snips. I am not a world expert at fussy cutting, but I give it my best, and I’m fairly pleased with this effort. The smiley face and ‘Just Sayin” (from Crazy About You) are both stamped in Marina Mist, as is the flower stamp in the background.

I loved creating this card, and will certainly be taking the Global Design Project challenge again!

Pootlers Sale-a-bration Blog Hop!

bog hop-001

Oh yes, its that time again! Time for a Pootler’s blog hop. This week we are celebrating the launch of Sale-a-bration – the biggest promotion of the year – where Stampin’ Up! gives you a free gift for each and every £45 you spend! (in one order!). Plus there are great deals for hostesses and new team members too!

So, please hop around our blogs today, the girls have worked so hard to create some great projects featuring our free products, use the next and previous buttons at the bottom of this post to hop along to Anna and her wonderful project

SAB blog hop

I will admit that thought I organise the Pootler’s blog hops, this time for me it has all been a bit of a mad rush. Over the 2 weeks of Christmas I managed to get 3 days off, and so my business has had to take a bit of a back seat. However, things are slowly getting back to normal, and with the launch of the latest catalogue and start of Sale-a-bration I’m all yours again.

This card features two of the Sale-a-bration products for this year. The Designer Series Paper is called Wildflower Fields. I love the colour combination of this paper, Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Calypso Coral, Hello Honey and Old Olive, just gorgeous! I featured this paper last week as well, during my Sneak Peek feature, as I included some samples of it in my customer catalogues.

The Hello is taken from one of the limited time products also called Hello, only available until 15th February, this adorable stamp set would be perfect for children’s birthdays or new babies.

I’ve added a few sequins from the Brights Sequin Assortment that the lovely Sam (aka: Pootles) sent me last month, not only are they great colours (of course!) but there are several different shapes of sequins in the pack, circles, hearts and stars. And who doesn’t love a couple of sequins!

Hope you’ve enjoyed our hop today, see you again in 2 weeks for some great Spring / Summer catalogue inspiration

You are my greatest adventure….

I’m sure that no one except me is already thinking about Valentines day…. It’s not something we particularly celebrate (one of us is usually at work! and I am NOT paying all that money just to have dinner out!) but we do give each other a card.

Going Places valentines

Manly looking Valentines are hard though, really hard! But this year it is a little easier thanks to Stampin’ Up! and the Going Global stamp set and Going Places Designer Series Paper. I’m loving the current selection of Designer Series Papers, Did you know that if you join my team during Sale-a-bration I will send you a 6 x 6 pack of Designer Series Paper for free!

This card uses a couple of punches; the Sweetheart punch coordinates with the stamp from Going Global, while the 3 smaller hearts are from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack.

Home for Christmas

Stampin' Up! UK Designer Series Paper Christmas Card

I thought this week I would give you a few ideas for your last minute Christmas cards.

Stampin' Up! UK Designer Series Paper Christmas Card

This card uses the fabulous Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper (that MAY still be available in the End of Year Sale!) Have I mentioned about the End of Year Sale – There are heaps of bargains on some wonderful products so please do check it out if you haven’t already!

The card is super simple actually, one piece of Designer Series Paper measuring 10 x 14.2 cm that I have sponged the edges of, with another strip of paper (10 x 2.5 cm) matted with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.

The sentiment is from Santa’s Gifts, stamped in Real Red ink. I think the circle is the 1 1/4″ circle punch, but I cant remember! oops!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #3

Stampin' Up! UK Simple Sketched Challenge Season of Cheer

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you.  The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*.  Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

Its time for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! and another sketch which caused my great difficulty!

Simply Sketched Saturday Stampin Up! Challenge

I very rarely use ribbon on cards, and tying a big bow on the front of a card definitely isn’t me! I did consider changing the bow for a different image, but then couldn’t think of anything to change it to! But I still didn’t want to use ribbon, well then Stampin’ Up!® came to my rescue with the Bow Builder Punch!

Stampin' Up! UK Simple Sketched Challenge Season of Cheer

There are some retiring products on this card, and I really hope you can grab them before they sell out! I’ve LOVED used the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper featured on the bottom half of this card, its a perfect blend of colours and watercolour effect for the perfect Christmas feel.

The sentiment comes from the Festive Fireside stamp set, also on the retiring list, stamped in Cherry Cobbler, surrounded by a Wreath of Mossy Meadow

Before I go, I have a few Bow Builder Punch Tips!

  • punch all your pieces first (that’s two punches!) and curl them with your bone folder to prevent creases in your bow
  • stick your bow together with glue dots, but attach the completed bow to your project with Tombow Liquid Glue. I also find that my bow holds together better if I add some Tombow to the underside of the bow before I stick it down
  • Stampin’ Up!® have a great video on the assembling the bow on their YouTube channel

Stampin' Up! UK Simply Sketched Challenge Week 2

I REALLY REALLY struggled with this sketch! My brain doesn’t copy well with wonky angles, and the angles on the sketch were too much for my little brain to handle. I actually made two cards this week, I might blog the first card I made later in the week. I changed it on Friday when I started writing this post, because I’m not sure if I like it!

Stampin' Up! UK Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge

I am much happier with this card. I changed the shapes on the sketch from rectangles to circles (and so got rid of the wonky angles!). The Designer Series Paper is from the English Garden Designer Series Paper Pack, and although there are some lovely floral patterns in this pack, I really wanted to keep the patterns simple on this card.

The card base is in Soft Suede, with the card stock circle in Old Olive. I have to admit this is not a usual colour palate of mine, but I am trying to push myself on a Saturday and make something a little out of my comfort zone. All three pieces (the two DSP, and one card stock) are paper pierced to add some extra detail, along with the trio of Candy Dots in Soft Suede

Stampin' Up! UK English Garden Birthday card

I needed to introduce a horizontal element onto this card (as suggested by the sketch) but didn’t want to cover the circles too much. I have also recently found a love for vellum, I have always liked putting vellum on cards but at the moment I am having to stop myself from putting Vellum on EVERYTHING! The Vellum is stamped with a sentiment from the Garden In Bloom stamp set – which coordinates with the Designer Series Paper – stamped in Early Espresso.

Garden in Bloom

Stampin' Up! UK Garden In Bloom

I’ve got a bit of a confession to make this morning, this is not a card orginally designed by myself! I know, its shocking! but I’ve been feeling really unwell this week and trying to create was somewhere near the bottom of my list of priorities (curling up under the duvet came top!) and even still as I write this post my voice has gone AWOL.

However, Stampin’ Up!® do an amazing job at providing us with an enormous amount of inspiration and ideas in their catalogues, I could whip this card up in less that 10 minutes!

Stampin' Up! UK Garden In Bloom

Have you spotted the ‘You can make it’ boxes in this years catalogues? Well, this is one of those cards, there is also a whole section of my webstore dedicated to Project Ideas

Stampin' Up! UK Floral Birthday card

This card uses the Garden in Bloom stamp set, and coordinating English Garden Designer Series Paper. I love this stamp set, it allows you to create a wonderful array of gorgeous layered flowers, making you look like a true artist!

I have made on slight addition to this card since I took the photos, when I pulled this card to write this blog post I found that the vellum had begun to curl slightly at the left hand side. Vellum is a bit of a nightmare to attach with glue, as it is see through you can quite often spot the adhesives underneath. I orginally stuck it down with glue dots under the stamping (that also hold the bakers twine). But I didn’t want to stick a glue dot at one end, so I grabbed my 2-way glue pen, dabbed a dot onto the card stock and pressed the vellum down. Its definately dry, and I can’t see it! Awesome!

How you you attach Vellum?

Welcome Baby…

Stampin' Up! UK baby card

Last week we had a new addition to our family. My cousin and his wife welcomed a 3rd daughter, baby Molly.

I haven’t got any pictures of her (although, she is the cutest!) but I do have the card I took with me to meet her

Stampin' Up! UK baby card

This cute card uses a card base of Watermelon Wonder, with a layer of Very Vanilla and another of the gorgeous Sweet lil’ things Designer Series Paper.

The stamped images are from Zoo Babies, although you won’t find the sentiment there! I merged two stamp sets the create the ‘Hello baby’ with the Hello coming from Crazy about You and baby from Zoo Babies.

12 Weeks of Christmas | Advent Calender

Stampin' Up! UK Advent Calender 2015 Season of Cheer

Stampin' Up! 12 weeks of Christmas

This week is my annual Advent Calender project! Yay! I LOVE making an advent calender each year, last year I made 25 little sour cream style bags (video tutorial still available), but this year I really needed to keep things really simple

So I turned to the Stampin’ Up!® Annual catalogue, and the Tiny Treat Boxes – you get 25 of these babies for just £6.25! add some Designer Series Paper and some numbers and you’re done! So easy

Stampin' Up! Advent Calender Video Tutorial

These also use the lovely Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper, so pretty and bang on trend with the watercolour look! This Designer Series Paper was hand painted by a lovely lady at the Stampin’ Up!® Utah Home Office. I used about 5 pieces of this paper on this project, which is great as there are 12 sheets in each pack -loads left over!

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper – 5 pieces for each box – 1 3/4 x 1 3/4″ (4.5 x 4.5 cm)

Stampin' Up! UK Advent Calender 2015 Season of Cheer

The numbers on these are super cute too, taken from the Hello December 2015 Project Life Accessory Pack for 25 super quick numbers!

Definintly the easiest Advent calender I have made a in a few years!

What are you making this Christmas?
