Global Design Project 386 | Quick card with Framed Florets from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for another card inspired by a Global Design Project challenge. I am really enjoying taking part in a few challenges again at the moment… and am back on a bit of a roll with blogging and videos (just in case you hadn’t noticed!). This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch, and it had me thinking for a few days if I’m honest about how I was going to tackle one of the elements.

The background trio of stamps in Soft Succulent are from the Watercolour Shapes stamp set. I really love this set for an interesting background, its really handy! Here I’ve stamped 2 of the squares in Soft Succulent stamped off once for a slightly softer look.

While I’m taking about Soft Succulent, its worth noting that the 2021-2023 In Colours (Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Fresh Freesia) are due to retire at the end of April. So if you love any of these, it’s worth grabbing the re-inkers and card stock sooner rather than later

The other stamp set at play here is Framed Florets for both the floral stamp and the sentiment. The scallop is from the Penned Flowers dies, how cute is that!

No card is complete with a touch of bling, and this one has a trio of the 2021-2021 In Colour Opal Rounds

Global Design Project #384 | Warm Welcome Birthday Card idea

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for another Global Design Project Challenge entry. This week they have a fun Inspiration challenge, using this fab card by Kim Fee.

I’ve used 2 stamp sets on this card… the Warm Welcome stamp set for the birthday cake and the flowers, and Something Fancy for the sentiment. The Birthday cake is coloured using Mint Macaron, Pool Party and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends.

The background of this card uses one of the new embossing folders, called the Basic 3D Embossing Folders which are available as part of the current Online Exclusive! I’ve added a hint of Mint Macaron with a blending brush to add that circular element from Kim’s card.

The card is finished with die cuts from the Something Fancy dies, and a sprinkle of Iridescent Rhinestones

Global Design Project #378 | Beautifully Happy

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for another Global Design Project idea. This week their challenge is a sketch. When I saw this on Monday I jumped onto Facebook Live and made this card. I would LOVE to share the video, but the Facebook pixies are being a bit naughty and I appear to have some sort of tech issue… which I have no idea how to solve! So, I will aim to re-record the video over the next couple of days.

The Beautifully Happy stamp set is currently available for FREE when you spend £90 during Sale-a-bration!

Global Design Project #377 | Repeat stamping with Alphabest

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah. I thought I would share the card I made last night, inspired by this weeks Global Design Project colour challenge using So Saffron, Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green.

I saw a card on Instagram using Alphabest, and was reminded that I have this set completely un-inked on my shelf. The alphabet is cute, but for me this stamp set wins on the “background” pieces. So cute!

Cute Hello card using Alphabest from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I have added Sahara Sand to the colour combination, just to break it up a little, and finished this card with a bow of White Crinkle Seam Binding and a trio of Milky Dots.

Global Design Project #365 | ’tis the season to be Jolly!

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah today. Today’s project was last night’s YouTube Live, and is based around the Global Design Project Colour challenge for this week, using Soft Succulent, Sweet Sorbet and Petal Pink.

I absolutely LOVE the Jingle Jingle Jingle stamp set… that line image sentiment is just SO fun! Here I stamped it twice, so that I could have a multi-coloured version. Check out the video for more details

Happy Birthday Splendid Day | Global Design Project #365

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah… I know, I dont usuallly blog this late. I am trying to be more organised with my posts, but right now I just need to blog when I can. So, here we are, with me writing a blog post a 7PM on a Friday evening (gosh, I lead an exciting life!)… Anyway, I made this card last night for the Global Design Project CASE Challenge this week, using THIS fabulous card by Emma Goddard as inspiration. Now, Emma’s card uses my current fav Ray of Light stamp, but I have managed to resist using it on my project (although… I do think it would make a great background here, maybe that’s a card for next week!)

Happy Birthday Splendid thoughts card using Biggest Wish from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I used Emma’s card layout and colour palate as inspiration, but used the Splendid Thoughts stamp and die bundle, and Biggest Wish for the sentiment

Instead of reaching for Ray of Light, the background is a ink blended soft circle of Pear Pizzazz ink, and added a splatter of Tahitian Tide ink.

Cute layered handmade birthday card using Splendid Day and Biggest Wish from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

Card ideas using Artfully Layered from Stampin’ Up!

This weeks YouTube Live used the fabulous Artfully Layered suite from the January-June Mini Catalogue. I have been having great fun with these products, and this month’s Card Club uses the same Designer Series Paper.

The first card we made was inspired by this week’s Global Design Project Sketch Challenge. I don’t make many slim line cards, but I thought it was an interesting idea.

Hey There SlimLine card using Artfully Layered from Stampin' Up! by StampinByHannah

This card is 21 x 15.8 cm, scored at 7.4 cm on the short side…. and it fits in the Stampin’ Up! Slimline Envelopes too! The card base is Mint Macaron, and the circle die cut from the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper.

I tried something with this card I hadn’t done before, and added Adhesive sheet to the back of some Vellum before using the coordinating dies to cut these fun leaves. It works really well… and you cannot tell there is any adhesive there at all. I finished this one with a stamped sentiment a trio of the Faux Sea glass Shapes.

This week’s second card was inspired by a card from one of the Stampin’ Up! Artisans. While she used a slightly different technique, I really liked the general feel of this card, and had to have a go! The leaves were both stamped in Soft Seafoam onto Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper, and then watercoloured with a combination of Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow. I LOVE the final look!

No line watercolouring with Artfully Layered from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

If you have enjoyed today’s project, I have a Card Club for April that uses the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper (and you can always add the Artfully Layered stamp set too!). Club is just £12.50 per month, for 5 months. Sign up by dropping me an email HERE.

Global Design Project #307 | Thank you Hand-Penned Petals

Well hello there! Yes, I’m not blogging at my usual 7AM slot today, but I have been trying to write this blog post for 2 days and I just want to share this card!

I get the emails from the Global Design Project every week, and every week I think “Yes, I’ll make a card for that challenge” and somehow it never quite works out. This week its thanks to the 2 year old who thinks that her bed is for jumping on and nothing else! (Anyone know how to get a 2 year old to stay in bed, please let me know the secret!)

Anyway, that’s a bit of topic isn’t it! So, the Global Design Project challenge this week is “Thank you”, and the beautiful Hand-Penned suite landed in my craft room last week and I’ve been itching to play. The two go together beautifully.

I saw a post on Instagram over the weekend about ‘faux embossing’ and I thought that the dies in the Penned Flowers die set (part of the Hand-Penned Petals bundle) would work super well for this. So the background here, is 3 die cuts cut from Basic White cardstock (with Adhesive sheet on the back!) and layered onto a panel of Basic White cardstock. How cool does this look! Love it!

I um’ed and ah’ed for ages about what to layer behind the heat embossed, fussy cut, sentiment piece, and I did nearly just adhere it on and leave it. But then the flowers in the stamp set caught my eye and I thought they’d be perfect.

The Hand-Penned suite coordinates perfectly with the Beautifully Penned Designer Series paper which is currently available for FREE with a £45 during Sale-a-bration (ends at the end of this month!). I love this paper; which is the perfect greyscale version of the Hand-Penned papers and they work wonderfully together.

Thanks for stopping by StampinByHannah today, if you like what you see please consider subscribing to my weekly emails. I’m having heaps of fun writing them at the moment and they always have a fun project idea as well as some other stuff I’m loving each week.

Whale of a time Card for the Global Design Project

Hello! So, I’ve been trying to spend a little more time in my craft room recently, which I have to say, isn’t difficult as it’s been a much under used space in my house in 2020. Crafting has always been my escape, and I’ve really needed that recently, but have really struggled to find anything to create. So I turned to an old faithful; the Global Design Project, and used their challenge for this week as my starting point.

This week’s challenge is to use a card by one of their Design Team members as inspiration. The card was stunning, and I chose to take the card layout; basically using the card as a sketch for a new one.

Love card using Whale of a Time and Whale Done from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I’ve been really enjoying the current selection of Designer Series Papers from Stampin’ Up! and the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper is no exception. For all this paper is a little more ‘theme-y’ that I would normally select, the patterns actually translate really well in small sections and aren’t all too fish-y. There are two separate pieces of the Designer Series Paper on this card; a small strip, and a 2″ punched circle.

I’m also really enjoying adding textures to my projects at the moment, and this card has a panel of embossed card stock using the coordinating Embossing Folder, as well as a piece of ribbon. When I’m embossing white cardstock, I tend to use the Thick Whisper White, just because it is slightly heavier than the standard and therefore gives a really crisp embossed finish.

Cute Love Whale Card using Whale Done from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The stamped Whale comes from the matching Whale Done stamp set. To get the ombre coloured effect I inked the stamp in Pool Party ink, and then added a hint of Shaded Spruce ink using a sponge.

This card is finished with a die cut seaweed from the Smooth Sailing dies.
