StampinByHannah’s Advent Calender Project 2014

I LOVE Christmas! to be honest with you I love the build up to Christmas more than the day itself!

I particularly love Advent! Now, I don’t know if that is just because of the piles of Chocolate, or that it is part of the whole event that is Christmas!

So, this year, my first year of blogging, I thought I would make an Advent Calender! Next year, who know you may get some advent gifts, but this year, its a lovely project!

Stampin' Up! UK advent calender trim the tree

I loved making the Halloween Gift Treat bags in October, and thought they would make perfect little tree ornament (or advent chocolate hanging devices if you will!). And so made 24 miniature treat bags with the Stampin’ Up! Trim the Tree DSP stack (LOVE!!!), some bakers twine (from the Tag a Bag Accessory kit!) and the Back to Basics Alphabet!

Measurements =

DSP – 3 1/2 x 4 1/2″ (9 x 12 cm) which is one of the pieces of the DSP from the Trim the Tree DSP stack cut in half!

Apply sticky strip to one end and both long sides, remove the backing from the sticky strip at the end and roll the DSP into a tube.

Then remove the backing from the sticky strip on one side and pinch together.

Insert your chocolate!

Remove the backing of the sticky strip on the other side and pinch together, at right angles to the other side.

Using a hole punch make a hole in one end and feed through your bakers twine, tying it in a knot to create a loop (so you can hang your treat pouch on the tree!).

Add numbers to each pouch by stamping the numbers 1 – 24 on cardstock (I used the Back to Basics Alphabet for this) and punching out with a 1″ circle punch.

Punch 24 1 1/4″ scallop circles and add one to the back of each number with a dimensionals.

Attach each number to a treat pouch with dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! UK Chocolate advent calender homemade

James is super excited about opening each pouch to find the chocolate inside! (Yes, he’s 24! and my husband to be, and Yes, he is just a big kid! We love Christmas!)

12 Tags of Christmas – Trim the Tree….

Oh yes, We are still working our way though the 12 tags of Christmas!

Stampin' Up! UK Christmas Tag Trim the Tree

Here I cut a 2 x6″ piece of DSP from the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack (there are so many cute patterns in there!), and punched the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

The band around the tag is just a scrap of the same piece of DSP, wrapped around and attached with some Snail.

The ribbons on the top are the Real Red 3/8″ Satin Woven Ribbon tied around a piece of 5/8″ Organza Ribbon.

This tag is simple but really sweet.

Cafe bags and Gift boxes, and an offer from me to you!

I hope you read my post last week about Gift Packaging (its HERE if you want it!), I love our selection of boxes and bags, including the selection of dies and boards so you can design and make your own.

Our pre-made boxes and bags are all in Kraft card (or paper) and can be a little dull – so, I’ve dressed them up!

Stampin' Up! UK Tiny Treat Box

This is our Tiny Treat box, that I have dressed up with some DSP (All is Calm), and some punches. I have also added a box made with the Lost Lagoon Silky Taffeta Ribbon (LOVE!).

Stampin' Up! UK Petite Cafe Bag

This is the Petite Cafe Bag, with some added extras. Once again I’ve just All is Calm DSP (isn’t it just beautiful!) and I’ve simply attached it with some staples!

So, I have an offer for you: If you join my team before Christmas, I will send you both of these project (complete with some goodies), as well as all the usual things that you would expect from me (and Stampin’ Up! UK). For more information about Joining me CLICK HERE!

Hope to speak to you soon

Fancy Fold Friday – Thinlit edition…..

Ok, So I thought I had finished Fancy Fold Friday (I’m planning on bringing it back soon, I just haven’t got round to making any Fancy Fold cards recently!), and then I found this on my desk.

I know that this really is cheating, but people are always so impressed with these cards, and they just look so complicated to make, but really they are so easy, and its all down to a die!

Stampin' Up! UK Circle Thinlit Festival of Trees

This card is created using the Circle  Card Thinlit die. Stampin’ Up! have 3 of these ‘flip card’ creating dies at the moment, this circle one, a label one, and a great snowflake one! Each die comes with a number of other dies to create a great card. These dies are wonderful! Trying to made a ‘flip card’ by hand is a right pain! This die, not only cuts the card to the right size, but cuts the flip shape AND creates the score lines! and all I had to do was run it through my Big Shot!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwdGSYeIn44

To create this card I cut a piece of Real Red cardstock to the slightly bigger than the Circle Card Thinlit die, and ran it though my Big Shot. I also grabbed the scallop circle die from the same die set and a piece of Old Olive cardstock, and ran that through the Big Shot too!

I couldnt make one of these cards without using my favourite Festival of Trees stamp set, this time stamped in Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, and Real Red. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set, stamped in Real Red, and cut into a cute little banner.

The tricky bit of this card is cutting that DSP! The paper I have used here is from Santa and Co. (that one with the crazy dancing Santas!). To ensure that the DSP fits the card, I used the Circle Card Thinlit die again, but this time cut the DSP rather than cardstock. Then cut along the score lines to give me two pieces; one for the front and the other for the inside! Then its just a case of adding Snail adhesive and sticking it all together!

Over the next few weeks I will be revisiting some of my previous Fancy Fold cards, and adding videos! Like my Facebook page or Subscribe to my YouTube to stay up to date and get my latest projects straight away.

So thankful for you!

Hello!

I thought I would take a step away from Christmas just for a moment! To say thanks!

Last week I featured the Festival of Trees Stamp Set (still not sick of that set yet! I just LOVE it!), and had such a great response from all of you (both here and on facebook!) and just wanted to say thanks to all of you!

Stampin' Up! UK Calypso Coral Good GreetingsI love bright colours, and rich colours, really I just love colour! but coral isn’t really my colour. So, when I looked through which ink pads I didn’t own a few weeks ago, it wasn’t a surprise to me that Calypso Coral hadn’t worked its way into my basket. But all of the Stampin’ Up! colours are just so beautiful I decided to take a chance on the coral!

How cute is this colour! It’s definitely on the orange spectrum, but its so soft and pretty! and please tell me, what is prettier than butterflies and flowers! So, I grabbed the Papillon Potpourri stamp set, and I Like You (hostess set), along with our Product of the Month – Good Greetings! and stamped this card!

There are actually two butterflies here, I punched one butterfly out of Calypso Coral DSP from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack, and then added the stamped and punched butterfly over the top with a single Glue Dot to give some great dimension!

I am so Thankful for you! Thanks so much for all your comments and orders. Check out my Facebook page HERE! and shop HERE!

12 Tags of Christmas – Merry and Bright!

Hello!

Welcome to another instalment of the 12 Tags of Christmas!

This week I used the Good Greetings stamp set (still FREE on any order of £200! until the end of October!) and the Under the Tree Tag a Bag Accessory kit!

Stampin' Up! UK 12 Tags of Christmas

I just love the Tag a Bag Accessory Kits, we have several over the annual and seasonal catalogues. They are just so handy, and include 10 gift tags for just £7.25! Awesome!

So, this tag also uses two pieces of DSP; the green is a piece of Under the Tree Specialty DSP, with the brown being from the Trim the Tree paper stack. I love both these packs of DSP! The specialty paper is really thick (and is awesome for boxes and 3D items) and the little paper stacks are super handy for card fronts and other cute projects (hint hint!)

Stampin' Up! UK Scallop Tag Topper Punch

So, to create this tag. The green piece of 2″ x 6″ and punched using the Scallop tag topper punch. And the brown piece is 2″ x 3″ and punched with the same punch. The sentiment from that Good Greetings set, is stamped on one of the builder tags from the Tag a bag accessory kit, attached with a dimensional. Instead of using twine or ribbon this week, I’ve used one of the pegs from the Tag a bag accessory kit – they are just so cute!

Stampin' Up! UK I like you Stampin Write Markers

This card uses a Crushed Curry Card base, and a piece of Colour Me Autumn DSP (the colours in this pack of DSP are gorgeous – Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Old Olive! <3). I stamped the DSP with Crushed Curry ink using the Hello Darling Stamp set (one of the ones I chose as my freebies!).

I coloured the Flower stamp with my Stampin’ Write Markers in Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Old Olive, before stamping onto the DSP

Stampin' Up! UK I like you Stampin Write Markers

The sentiment for this card comes from the FREE good greetings stamp set, stamped in Mossy Meadow onto the same DSP, and punched out using the Modern Label Punch, layered with two other punched pieces

I didn’t think Crushed Curry was really going to be my colour! Boy, was I Wrong!

Fancy Fold Friday – Zig Zag Fold

Hello! Welcome to the second in my series of ‘fancy fold’ cards!

This week, I’ve made a Zig-Zag fold card, using Real Red and Flashback DSP.

I do love designer series paper – I love patterns, and colour, and really I’m just a stationary geek! (yes, I love staples and paperclips too!), but I really struggle to use DSP on cards! I love using it for scrapbooking, I use masses of 12×12 papers on layouts and in Project Life, but on cards, I get a little stuck!

Stampin' Up! UK Zig Zag fold card Flashback DSP

This card, although it looks complex, is really simple to create. The cardbase is cut at 8 1/4 by 5 3/4, then (and this is the only complicated bit!) you need to line one corner of the cardstock up with the top corner of your papertrimmer, then line the corner diagonally opposite to it up with the 4″ line on your trimmer – this will create the slopping angle to the top of the card. The card is then embellished with the Flashback DSP cut the same as the cardbase, before trimming 1/2″ from the bottom edge, and cut into 2 1/2″ strips.

FFF - zig zag 1

The card was then completed with three punched flowers, stamped using the Something to Say stamp set, and punched using the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack. The sentiment is only available until the end of October, place an order (or host a party) of over £200, and earn this stamp set for FREE! its so super cute, and has some lovely sentiments for Christmas and Halloween crafting.

See you again next week

Just a little DSP….

We all have scraps dont we?! the scraps of DSP were starting to take over in my craftroom, so while I was trying to tidy up…. a card was born!

Stampin Up UK Moonlight Designer Series Paper DSP

This card uses Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Moonlight DSP Stack. It features the new In Colours: Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, and Blackberry Bliss, with Sahara Sand and Whisper White. This card also a scrap of the Flashback DSP. Its a Very Vanilla card base, and I’ve stamped the sentiment from Something to Say in Memento Tuxedo Black.

This card is pretty simple really, I love using scraps of DSP like this, making little banners or strips on a card, with a cute sentiment.

To finish I used the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Corner Rounder to round the two outside corners, and that the card done!
