I had so much fun making this card! Would you like to join me and make some fun cards next month? On the 9th of September I am holding my monthly Technique Class, and this time we are using Me = Grateful to make 3 lovely cards
I have recently discovered how much fussy cutting I actually do! For all I say I don’t cut anything out at all, ever, it actually appears that I fussy cut quite often. This card features a really cute fussy cut pear from the Farmers Market Designer Series Paper.
That wonderful sentiment is stamped directly onto another piece of the same Designer Series Paper in Watermelon Wonder, with some neutral Candy Dots to finish

We have a few family birthday’s this time of year. Somehow most of James’ family were born on the 28th of a summer month! So, I have been making a pile of cards for their birthdays recently.
Last week it was James’ oldest younger sister’s birthday, and I wanted to make something fun!
There is only one choice for me at the moment when it comes to fun birthday cards – Cherry on Top! I love this Designer Series Paper stack! This years offerings are all great, but the fun colours of this one really speak to me; Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Cucumber Crush, Hello Honey, Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe, and Watermelon Wonder – are a lovely colour combination I have used often this summer! (Including tomorrows video tutorial project!)
This card uses a big bold piece of that Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper, with some stamping from the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set. Don’t you just love that font! I do!
The cake was stamped in Sahara Sand ink, before being coloured with my Stampin’ Write Markers, and punched out with the Extra-Large oval punch

I have had these tea-lights sat on my desk for months! I found these beautiful Pink Pirouette coloured tea-lights in Primark, for £1! and had to bring them home to make a box! I love it when I find items that perfectly match Stampin’ Up! colours, it makes gift giving so damn easy!
These boxes hold 6 supermarket sized tea-lights, and are super quick and easy to make. Check out the video tutorial below if you don’t believe me!

(I’m sorry I haven’t got the metric measurements for this one, yet!)
Base –
Card stock – 7 x 4 1/2″
Score on the long side first at 1 5/8, 3 1/4, 4 7/8 and 6 1/2″
Score on the short side at 1 5/8″
Lid –
Card stock – 5 11/16 x 5 11/16″ (this measurement is really important to make sure your lid slips over your base!)
Score on all four sides at 2″
Designer Series Paper –
1 piece that measures 1 1/2 x 1 1/2″
4 pieces that measure 1 1/2 x 1 3/4″
I can’t believe I have got this far into the blog post without mentioning that adorable Designer Series Paper! I did not think that this DSP was for me – it has a weird colour combination; Basic Black (which is what put me off!) Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, Old Olive, Pacific Point and Very Vanilla. I am very much a Whisper White girl; I use Very Vanilla occasionally but I go through miles more Whisper White. So between the Basic Black and the Very Vanilla – I had decided that the Pretty Petals DSP stack was not for me! that was until I received a sample in a product share – I am converted! These papers are gorgeous! You have got to grab a pack (its only £7.25) and find out for yourself!

I’m a bit concerned that this fantastic Designer Series Paper may have passed you by in the Annual Catalogue this year! It can be found at the very top of page 142, it just looks like a series of coloured chevrons – but take a closer look! Its the most wonderful Designer Series Paper – do you remember the Irresistibly Yours DSP from Sale-a-bration this year? Well, its like that – but better! You get 12 sheets, all with fabulous patterns in ink resist embossing, but some are pre-coloured, while others are white – all ready for you, a sponge and your favourite ink!
Paired here with the wonderful Sprinkles of Life Stamp set, I can’t choose which version of the paper is my favourite! The one on the left uses the pre-coloured Colour Me Irresistible paper, while the right had card features the DSP that has been coloured by me with my trusty sponge and some Mint Macaron Ink!
Have I mentioned about the Sprinkles of Life stamp set by the way? Not only is it super cute! but also £2 is donated to Ronald Macdonald House Charities here in the UK for each stamp set sold! Awesome right! RMHC do fantastic work, keeping parents and sick children close together during some of the worst times, providing houses near to hospitals.

Did you catch my mistake last week? I have complete wedding brain at the moment and managed to film this video on the wrong week! magic! but its ok, because I’ve filmed another tutorial for you this week!
I love using sketches as a quick and easy way to make a card, I will often hit Pinterest or check the latest challenges on some of my favourite challenge blogs. Sketches make card making so super quick and easy, and also stretch my card making into areas I would never have explored. Do you ‘get’ how much I love sketches! and I would love you to love sketches too!
So, this is a Cardmaking 101 – but one with a difference, because today we are actually going to make a card! So far we have explored tools, adhesives, and accessories. We have talked about stamps and stamping. But we have never actually made a card! until today. This is also the last Cardmaking 101 for a couple of months, but it will return bigger and better than ever in the Autumn – is there something you really want to learn? or a technique you would love to try but just don’t know where to start? Let me know so I can feature them as part of my next Cardmaking 101 series (or should that be Cardmaking 102?!)
Ok, so shall I stop waffling and get on with making a card!
I always start by looking at the sketch, turning it around and changing the shapes. The key to using sketches is not to think of the shapes as boxes (or flowers, or butterflies) but just as shapes, shapes that your stamps can fill
Next I turn to my stamp shelves, trying to place my stamps into that shape. Sometimes I will use a stamp and punch combination for this, or sometimes I just use my current favourite!
Once I have collected my supplies and grab the sketch again. Cut my card stock, and begin to assemble my card
Here I have used the Watercolor Thank You, along with a piece of the Neutrals Designer Series Paper. I recently received a pack of the Metal Rimmed Peals, and just HAD to find away of using them!
So, what do you think? I would love to see your latest make, show me on my Facebook page!

I will be the first to admit 3D papercraft is not really my forte. I am a cardmaker and a stamper, however, I do dabble in box making, and I am particularly proud of this one!
I have two versions of this super cute box! The first is a card stock version – with Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper panels, and the other a DSP version using the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stacks. Both hold up well, and are super easy to make too!
Measurements:
Cardstock or Designer Series Paper – 5 x 7 3/4″ (12.6 x 19.5 cm)
Score on the short side at 1 1/2, 3 and 4 1/2″ (3.8, 7.6 and 11.5 cm)
Score on the long side at 1 3/8″ (3.4 cm)
One the short side mark the centre of the middle square – with the skinny score line on the left – mark at 2 3/4″ and with the skinny score line on the right at 2 1/4″ (7.3 and 5.8)
Use these marks to create the triangles that will become the opening flap lid and base of your box.
Designer Series Paper Panels Measure – 1 1/4 x 4 1/2″ (3 x 11.5 cm)

This month I’m keeping things simple – life is insane right now, my wedding is now 3 weeks away! I am so not ready yet (so much left to do, STILL trying to find the time to make the orders of service and sort the seating plan!) But I didn’t want to miss a month of Online Workshops for you…
I chose to use the You’re Sublime stamp set this month. I love the images here, they are super cute (totally the word of this workshop – watch the video to understand what I mean!), and I think you can make a heap of different cards for all occasions with these.
In order to keep things super simple we are making 3 cards this month, rather than boxes or bags, and there are 3 super simple cards to make along with me. Saying that there are 3 pretty distinct card making looks here. I am totally in love with the ‘follow your heart’ card – those polka dots just kill me!
Follow Your Heart
This card uses a Lost Lagoon card base with a Whisper White card layer. There are only 3 colour here; Lost Lagoon, Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate, and they are added to the Whisper White layer using Sponge Daubers to stamp the colour on! What a great technique. The super sweet caravan is fussy cut, and coloured in the same colours with my Blender Pens (yes, I LOVE them!!!)
Have a Snappy Day
This is a super super simple card. Once again using those great Sponge Daubers, but this time to colour a larger area – I’ll let you watch the workshop to see what I mean
Loads of Thanks
When looking for ideas for using this stamp set, I stumbled upon this set of cards on Pinterest, and was totally inspired.
I recently received the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper stack, and I will admit I was scared – black with flowers! frightening! But as soon as I started to use it I fell in love! The patterns are small and dainty, but really sweet, they are the perfect size for card making – and its a 6 x 6 pad – awesome!
I have a great workshop for you next month – seeing as I’m away on honeymoon, I thought a Wedding theme may be appropriate! That workshop will go live on the 12th August 2015

I know I’m not the only one who’s heart sinks when it comes to Male Birthday cards. They are tricky, particularly when – like me – you’re drawn to flowers and pink!
So, last month it was James’ oldest brothers Birthday. I try really hard not to make themey cards – John likes running, but that doesn’t mean he must have a running themed birthday card, does it?!
This is where Stampin’ Up! outdo themselves, Guy Greetings. What a fantastic guy themed stamp set! I’ve paired it here with Gorgeous Grunge for a really cool grungy look.
I actually got a ‘ooh, that’s cool!’ for this card! I know, I was surprised too! Most of my family are totally not bothered by a handmade anything, none of them understand the effort and thought, and very few actually appreciate what I have done – This does not stop me!
So, the card – a Cucumber Crush card base, layered with a piece of Typeset Designer Series paper and a matt of Very Vanilla – stamped with Gorgeous Grunge in Cucumber Crush and Sahara Sand. Cool, huh?

We are now less than a month til the Wedding and things are crazy busy, saying that I am still making time for all of you, and have another Free Online Workshop coming next Wednesday! I have mentioned before that I work ahead of time, well at the moment I think I’m a month ahead, we are away for 3 weeks on honeymoon in August and I don’t want to abandon you guys. I will be contactable by email while I’m away, and I’m sure I’ll be sharing some pictures of sandy beaches and blue skies on Facebook!
So, this month’s free online workshop uses one of my favourite stamp sets from the new Annual Catalogue – You’re Sublime! It’s just too cute!
This card has a card base of Cucumber Crush, with a matt of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper (remember me saying how much I love this paper, yep, still using it!), and a piece of that lovely Cucumber Crush Dotted Lace Trim – Yum!
The frog is stamped in Stazon ink onto a 2″ circle of Whisper White. I did actually watercolour this with Cucumber Crush ink, yes, onto Whisper White! I know, I know! cool huh!

This weeks Week in Review is a little different this week. As usual I have my top picks of this weeks Weekly deals, but I have a bonus project for you! (which is why this post is a little late!)
My wonderful upline is featuring 6×6 projects this week, and I thought I would jump on the bandwagon! So, lets get the Weekly deals over with first, and then I’ll show you a super cute bag!
Weekly Deals
There are heaps of deals again this week, but there is a catch – they are only available in limited quantities, so if you see something you like – grab it now!
What a great selection! I adore my magnetic platform, it is the greatest addition to the Big Shot and makes lining dies and stamping up so easy! I have featured Gold Glimmer paper on a project this week and I LOVE it!
My other top pick is the Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Addition which is definitely coming home with me!
What have I been up to?
Heaps! This week I am free from the day job, so I’m taking advantage and getting lots of blog work done! I spent all of yesterday filming and I plan to do something very similar today. I also managed to grab a couple of days off with James last week, and took advantage of the great weather for a picnic in the park!
I also have plans for getting this Wedding prep sorted by the end of the week! I managed to grab 10 minutes yesterday to cut and score my Orders of Service, so I just have to print and assemble. As well as create the bouquets, finish the seating plan, and fill the favours! One month to go today! eeeeek!
Bonus Project!
So, I don’t normally include a crafty project on a Wednesday! But, this week my gorgeous upline is running 6×6 week – and I’m jumping on her bandwagon!
How cute are these! The left hand bag uses the lovely Go Wild Designer Series Paper, while the other uses Bohemian (two sets of DSP I totally wasnt sure about, but have completely fallen in love with! )
Measurements:
Designer Series Paper – 6 x 6″ (15 x 15 cm)
Score on the first side at – 2 1/8, 2 7/8, 5, 5 3/4″ (5.3, 7.3, 12.6 and 14.6 cm)
Score on the second side at 3/4″ (2 cm)
I am sorry for the tiny strip down the side, but as you can see on the video our Tear and Tape fits in the gap well.
What do you think?
