StampinByHannah Techniques How to colour your Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper
I am completely in love with the Petal Palette Suite in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer catalogue. I mean, what is not to love about floral stamps, sentiments in a pretty font and Black and White Designer Series Paper?! Its SO pretty, and I just cannot put it away! I have been using it a lot recently, and I hate to tell you, I’m not sick of it yet and there is more coming next week too…
The star of the show here is definitely the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. This pack is purely Black and White and features a collection of floral and leafy prints. This makes it the perfect candidate for colouring. I have previously used Watercolour Pencils and a Blender pen, and there are heaps of Blends examples floating around Pinterest, but here I have chosen to use a Sponge Brayer.
Using a Basic Black card base always causes the question; Where do you write? Do you decorate the inside of your cards?
Well, here I have added a piece of Whisper White card stock on the inside, with a spot of stamping using the coordinating Petal Palette Stamp set and a hint of colour added with a sponge.

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday How to make a Gratitude Journal
I have been mulling over this series for a while. I started it with a plan, and then I sort of bottled it a bit… but I have decided that it is time to start the series I intended. So, I started 2018 with a plan to use Mindfulness to help conquer my anxiety, and the first few weeks were great… but then I sort of fell of the wagon. So here we are at the 1st of February, and I am starting again (shall we call January a trail run?).
One of my Mindfulness Practices is keeping a Gratitude Journal, which sounds really American and cheesy as a Brit… but it really really helps! When I do this on a regular basis I find that I manage to contain my negative thoughts and replace them with positive self-talk. This is SO powerful and prevents me from spiralling into a vortex of Anxiety and panic attacks about silly things.
I have recently been using the GLAD style of Gratitude; where GLAD stands for Grateful, Learned, Accomplishment and Delight. So each day I write down an event or feeling that matches each one of those prompts.
This journal is super easy to put together; as really its just copy paper and a piece of Designer Series Paper. These would make a really cute gift for a party hostess or a new team member too.
Measurements:
Designer Series Paper; Naturally Eclectic – 21.5 x 14.8 cm
5 sheets of copy paper cut in half
Directions:
Fold each half sheet of copy paper in half. I didn’t bother to score first..
Fold the Designer Series Paper in half
Layer each piece of copy paper on top of each other, and then put this pile into the Designer Series Paper cover
I have stapled mine together, but you could sew it (I have one of those long arm staplers for when I’m making wedding stationary… so I put it to use here!)
I added some extra decoration to the front cover with some layers of card stock and stamping using the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set. To keep it coordinated I picked out the colours in the Designer Series Paper; Night of Navy, Lemon Lime Twist, Soft Sky and Tranquil Tide. The stamp set has a collection of mix and match sentiments and I thought this one would be nice for the front of my journal.
Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope to see you again soon

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlights Truly Tailored
It’s that special day of the month again… Kylie’s International Blog Highlight. I LOVE taking part in these events, partly because I get to see heaps of creative ideas from loads of other Demonstrators around the world, but also because Kylie always comes up with a cool theme! This month is no exception, and I am sure that everyone has made some fabulous projects. This month we are sharing our favourite products from the Spring Summer (Occasions if your outside of Europe) catalogue and Sale-a-bration!
I LOVE the Truly Tailored Suite in the Spring Summer Catalogue. Initially I was drawn to the colour combination, although I did spend far longer than I would care to admit trying to see the Crushed Curry on the papers printed in the catalogue!
It is definitely there though, and using a bit of Crushed Curry Bakers Twine on this card has really helped to pull it out of the papers.
I hadn’t really thought about it until I came to right this blog post, but I think my choice of papers is my subconscious speaking to me…. because I really need to hurry up and pick my new glasses! I promise I’ll share a picture of them on my social media when they arrive!

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Body Shop Self Closing Bag Tutorial
It was my Birthday a few weeks ago, and one of my Sister-in-Laws (I am not giving my brother any credit for any presents ever again!) gave me a whole bunch of Body Shop goodies. One of the things she gave me was some gorgeous hand cream, and I just HAD to make a cute bag for it!
This Self Closing bag is really simple to make. However, I did manage to get in wrong the first time… using the wrong blade on my trimmer to trim rather than score my Designer Series Paper! #fail!
Measurements:
Designer Series Paper: 6 x 4 1/2″ (15 x 12 cm)
Score on the SHORT side at 2 and 4″ (5 and 10 cm)
Score on the LONG side at 1″ (2.5 cm) on the side that you want to be at the bottom of your bag
Put your Designer Series Paper into your Simple Scored with the SHORT side at the top, and the skinny strip before the score line, at the top… and score at 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 inches (or 4.5 and 9.5 cm)

This week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a fabulous sketch! I LOVE creating from a sketch and will often turn a sketch on its head and make something a little different. Seeing as the card I have created here is SO different from the sketch I thought I would share my process…. and I actually have a second card I made (first) with the same sketch coming later in the week!
So, how on earth did I get to this card from that sketch… well, I have a few sketch tips to share with you:
Literally turn the sketch on its head…. rotate it by 90 degrees, turn it upside down, flip it to the other side… a sketch can be really fluid and using one is all about interpretation
Take on the elements…. take each element individually, and move it, change its size, or change the shape altogether!
Play with colour…. remember that ultimately this is YOUR creation, and you can make it any colour, use any Designer Series Paper or stamps that you like
Check out what other people have done with the same sketch…. sometimes the sketch just doesn’t jump out at you, so check out the Design Team’s work and see what they have done, maybe they have some inspiration for you! This is one of the reason’s I just LOVE a sketch challenge!
This particular card came to me at about 11PM, once I was in bed… and I did managed to sleep, but it was the first thing I did when I got up the next morning! I just adore this Designer Series Paper, it is Fresh Florals from the Annual catalogue and the pack is a bumper 40 sheets using the 2017-2019 In Colours. The paper coordinates perfectly with the Floral Phrases stamp set (that also has some fabulous dies to go with it too!).

I have a super cute video tutorial for you today! One of my favourite Christmas traditions is planning my gift wrapping, and these would make really sweet gift wrap for a special present.
These are super quick and simple to make… even the video is only 6 minutes long! I have used the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper for both of these bags. This paper really did not shout ‘buy me’ when I saw it in the catalogue, but I got a sample in a Paper Share (more on those coming soon!) and feel in love with some of the B sides! It is always worth remembering that there are two sides to a piece of paper.
Measurements:
Designer Series Paper; 12 x 6″ (30.5 x 15 cm)
Score on the long side at 5-1/2 and 11″ (14 and 28 cm)
Score on the short side at 1″ (2.5 cm)
I grab two stamp sets for the sweet tags on these bags. The black bag has a tag using Christmas Pines, while the green one uses You’re So Sweet. Both bags are closed with one of my MUST HAVE products, the Gold Library Clips. Right, I’m off to buy more clips! See you again tomorrow for more fun Stampin’ Up! projects

I have two blog posts for you today… the second is coming to you later tonight, but I made both that card and this one within 10 minutes of each other so I thought I would share them (almost) together!
This card uses the Bike Ride stamp set and coordinating Build a Bike Framelits. I have had the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper out on my craft desk recently, and I took colour inspiration from the piece I have used here. Tangerine Tango always reminds me of my step-father in law who owns a classic VW campervan in a very similar shade of orange, which also always seems to lead me to Early Espresso.
The Bike Ride Stamp Set also features one of my favourite stamping techniques; 2-step stamping. The bike is made up of a number of stamps; the bike frame, wheels, wheel rims, seat, handles, and peddles.
The dog also uses a few stamps to create the multi-coloured image we end up with. How cute is this pup with his orange scarf!
The Bike Ride stamp set doesn’t include any sentiments, so I have pulled this one from Oh So Eclectic. It is stamped in Tempting Turquoise to tie into the Designer Series Paper and the ink Splatter in the background

This week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a theme… Now, I don’t really know what I was doing when I set this challenge. I also managed to complete forget about it, so when I was planning on Saturday afternoon and I suddenly realised that I needed to make a Fancy Fold card for this week’s challenge even I panicked! But, I turned to an old friend, and I think it turned out ok!
I do LOVE a good fancy fold. I have a heap of Fancy Fold video tutorials over on my YouTube channel if you want to check it out.
This is a Double Diamond fold card. They are super simple to put together…. the trick is all in the scoring! I have made these a couple of times now, and you can find the video tutorial for it HERE. This version uses Crushed Curry card stock for the base, with layers of Early Espresso card stock and Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.
To create the perfect layers I used the Layering Squares Framelits dies.
Measurements:
Card base – Crushed Curry Card Stock – 4 x 10″ (10 x 25 cm)
Score on the long side at; 2, 4, 6 and 8″ (5, 10, 15 and 20 cm)
Score on the short side at; 2″ (5 cm)
Rotate the card stock back so that the long side is at the top, and then make two marks along the horizontal score line at 3 and 7″ ( 7.5 and 17.5 cm)
The biggest issue when it comes to sending Fancy Fold card is of course the envelope! Stampin’ Up! have this covered with the Envelope Punch Board… Fully coordinating, perfectly sized envelopes in flash!
Measurements:
Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper : 7-7/8 x 7-7/8″ (I tend to stick to imperial measurements with the Envelope Punch Board, just feels easier!)
Punch and Score using the Envelope Punch Board at 3-3/8″ and then follow the score lines to punch and score on each side.
Thanks so much for stopping by StampinByHannah today. I would LOVE to see your Fancy Fold creations! Why not add them to our gallery over at Inspire.Create.Challenges?
