Inspire.Create.Challenges Stampin' Up! Theme Challenge

Oh my I LOVE this theme… probably because I made a TON of Floral cards! But, I thought it was a good opportunity to go all out, and make something really special. So, here we go!

Abstract Impressions Thank You Card using Stampin' Up! products

I’ve been on a bit of a Pastel kick recently, until now that is cos this card is bright! Thanks to a mix of Berry Burst, Mango Melody and Mint Macaron, none of which are actually in the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper… but I think that they totally work!

So, I had a play with some watercolour on this card too. I cut the fabulous floral corner die from Springtime Impressions from Shimmery White Card Stock, and then coloured some of the flowers and leaves using watercolour…. and then snipped them out of the larger piece to create this two focal points on the card.

Pretty Floral Thank You card using Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

Each die cut is attached with mini staples (sorry, I know that the Stampin’ Up! Stapler retired… but I just can’t part with mine!)… and I added a few extra bits; Rose Metallic Thread, a spritz of ink, and some repeat stamping for the sentiment!

I hope you have enjoyed your visit to StampinByHannah today… please do check out the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog to see some more Floral Creations from the Design Team AND to add your own Floral makes to the link up too!

International Blog Highlights | Teacher Gifts!

International Blog Highlights Teacher Gifts Teabag Gift Box using Share What You Love Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlights Teacher Gifts!

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

Welcome to StampinByHannah today for the August Blog Highlight! I adore taking part in these every month and was totally honoured to be chosen as a top pick in July! You can see the winners blog hop from last month HERE!

I think Kylie has set us a really tough challenge this month! It might just be me though… Teacher Gifts?! Now, for us here in the UK, this is a little late as the kids are all currently off school for the summer. But, I don’t have any children either… so the whole thing is a bit lost on me to be honest! However, I’m always up for a challenge…. so, Teacher Gifts it is, and Teacher Gifts you have got!

How to make a fun Teacher Gift using the Envelope Punch Board and Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

These are really simple little gifts, because I understand that you need something quick, and probably multiples of them for all those fabulous Teaching Assistants (I know about those… my mother and mother in law both work in schools!). So, I’ve these cute boxes are made in a snap using the Envelope Punch Board, and each hold 4 individually wrapped tea bags.

The Designer Series Paper is called Share What You Love, and because it’s a heavier weight than most of the Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper it’s great for boxes and bags! I’ve even taken a sanding block to it for a fun shabby effect.

The sentiment and dies are taken from the Stitched All Around bundle. I am in LOVE with these stamps and dies! This sentiment is particularly special to me; as I used to sing this song to a resident every single morning… it always made her smile, and she would sing along to. I left that job back in April, and I know that that lady has since passed (not wanting to bring this post down!)… but it’s one of the reason’s why I LOVE my day job! I know that I’m a nurse, rather than a teacher…. but these would make awesome nurses gifts!

Cute Envelope Punch Board Gift Box using Share What You Love Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper; 6-3/8 x 6-3/8″

Punch and Score at 2-1/2″ and the 4″ on on the first side, then use these lines as a guide to punch and score the other 3 sides.

Make It Monday | 3 card ideas with Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!

Hello Card using Floral Frames and Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Make It Monday 3 card ideas with Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!

Make It Monday banner

I had a heap of fun yesterday on Facebook Live…. usually I share these videos on my blog immediately after, but with everything going on at the moment (crazy busy in the day job, re-marketing the flat, the heat, and a lack of sleep while James has been on nights). So, I decided to combine this weeks Facebook Live and Make It Monday. I hope you don’t mind?!

I do a Facebook Live usually every other week, but I missed last week, so there will be another one this coming Sunday. So, do pop over and Like my Facebook Page so you can join me Live on Sunday morning at 11AM

Card 1:

3 fun card ideas using Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper Video Tutorial Facebook Live

This first card uses the fabulous Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. I love that you can make a whole heap of cards with this paper, and each one look different! That’s partly because they are fun painterly patterns, but also that you get 48 sheets of 6 x 6″ paper in the pack…. that’s a whole HEAP of cards! Because I wanted to keep the paper the focus here I’ve kept the rest of the card pretty simple, with a couple of die cuts from the Floral Frames bundle and a Stitched Circle, and a single stamped sentiment. However, you could really dress the card up with extra die cuts, embossing, and more layers!

Card 2:

3 fun card making ideas using patterned paper from Stampin' Up!

The second card I shared yesterday was this one, using the Rooted in Nature stamp and die bundle. I can’t decide which version of this card is my favourite… this one or the one I made in the video? What do you think?

Card Measurements:

Card Base; Blackberry Bliss; 29.7 x 10.5 cm, Scored at 14.85 cm

Whisper White layer; 10 x 14.3 cm

Natures Poem Designer Series Paper: 9.5 x 9 cm and a second piece that measures 9.5 x 4.8 cm

Plus scraps of Blackberry Bliss and Whisper White

You are Wonderful Nature's Poem Card using Rooted In Nature from Stampin' Up!

YouTube Replay…

Card 3:

The 3rd card uses my favourite Designer Series Paper of the moment; Petal Promenade, to make a fun spin on a classic Z fold card. This paper is just so pretty that I can’t help use big pieces of it! It does all the work, and leaves you with a simple task of adding a sentiment. Pretty card – Tick!

Quick and easy Z Fold card using Petal Promenade Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up!

Card Measurements:

Card Base; Petal Pink: 21 x 14.85 cm, scored on the long edge at 10.5 and 3 cm

Designer Series Paper: 14.85 x 7.5 cm and 14.85 x 3 cm

Whisper White 14.85 x 7.5 cm, plus a scrap for stamping

Thank so much for stopping by StampinByHannah today… before you go, I just want to let you know that all of the July offers end TOMORROW NIGHT! That’s the Buy 3 Get 1 Free on Designer Series Paper AND the fabulous 10 FREE ink pads with your Starter Kit joining deal!

Love What You Do Divided Sweetie Box…

How to make a cute divided box for sweeties or stationary using Stampin' Up! Share What You Love Designer Series Paper

StampinByHannah Love What You Do Divided Sweetie Box…

So, today I thought I would re-visit a project I shared on this very blog about 3 years ago! I cannot believe that I have been sharing with you here for over 4 years now, I LOVE reading all your comments but I would also love to see if you have made something inspired by something I have shared too. You can share your work with me over on my Facebook Page or, if you don’t want the world to see it, drop me an email! You never know, I might even pop something in the post to you as a Thank you!

How to make a fun box with a cut out lid using Square Framelits and Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

For all I’m calling these Divided Sweetie Boxes they would also look super cute on your desk holding all those paper clips, elastic bands and other random desk junk (do other people have this… or is it just me?!). Both of these boxes actually use the same piece of Designer Series Paper from the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper Pack, don’t you love when you can’t decide which side of the paper you love more and have to make two of something just because?! Or is that just me as well!

Measurements:

Card stock for the box base: 6 x 6″ (15 x 15 cm)

Score on all 4 sides at 1″ (2.5 cm)

Designer Series Paper for the box lid: 5-9/16 x 5-9/16″ (14.3 x 14.3 cm)

Score on all 4 sides at 3/4″ (2 cm)

Card stock for dividers: 1 piece that measures 4 x 5-1/2″ (10 x 13.8 cm) and 2 pieces that measure 2 x 5-1/2″ (5 x 13.8 cm)

Score at 2″ (5 cm) on each end and then flip the card stock over and score again at 2-3/4″ (6.9 cm)

Cute divided box with lid using pattened paper from Stampin' Up!

The most special part of these boxes for me is the Square cut out windows. In the original box I cut these by hand because I didn’t have a square die, but for this version I used the Layering Square Dies to cut the window and made the cute Crumb Cake frames too. These frames are really easy to make; first cut the straight edged square from a piece of card stock, then cut a scalloped square out around that one to create a frame. You can see exactly how I did this in the video tutorial above.

I would love to see your creations this weekend, I’ll be back tomorrow with a fun blog hop with the InspireINK team, hope to see you then!

Inspire.Create.Challenge #023 | Congratulations Twinkle Twinkle

How to use Designer Series Paper in your card making featuring Twinkle Twinkle from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenge #023 Congratulations Twinkle Twinkle

Inspire.Create.Challenge Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge number 23

Hello! Oh my goodness, I feel like these challenges are coming around awfully quickly at the moment! I’m sure it’s because we’ve changed how we organise them slightly, and so I only made my challenge card for challenge 22 last week… but nothing has changed for you so really that is completely irrelevant! I do hope you enjoy our challenges, do pop over to the Inspire.Create blog and see the other members of the Design Team’s creations!

Blue Congratulations Card with stars using Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

This sketch totally lends itself to a card that uses big pieces of Designer Series Paper! I love this type of card as they come together really quickly but look fabulous too. My card for today features the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper that is predominately designed for baby cards, and so that is what I have made today pairing it with the coordinating stamp set; Little Twinkle. However, this paper is full of generic patterns that I can see being put to a heap of uses plus it’s heavy on the Night of Navy too so it’s perfect for guy cards!

The hardest bit of this card was making sure the measurements were right. First I cut the piece of Whisper White as a mat for the Designer Series Paper, then I worked out how big each piece of Designer Series Paper needed to be based on that measurement.

Baby boy congratulations card using Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

Measurement:

Card base: Night of Navy; 29.7 x 10.5 cm, scored on the long side at 14.85 cm

Whisper White; 9.5 x 13.8 cm

4 pieces of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper; 4.5 x 6.65 cm

Whisper White; 10.5 x 2.5 cm

Floral Friend card with Petal Promenade

How to cut the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Floral Friend card with Petal Promenade

So, one of the pieces of the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper I have been dreading trying to cut is one that has 9 really beautiful floral frames. There I several reasons why this paper makes me nervous; they are usually sized for a US sized card base which isnt the same size as I use here in the UK, they are really really pretty and I don’t want to mess one up, and then there is the fear of just not having a clue what I am going to do with the frames once they are cut! But, I have started seeing other people make some really pretty cards with these frames. In fact I almost CASE’d THIS card from Patty Bennett to get me started, but I made this card instead.

Pretty Friend card featuring a floral frame using Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

Usually when I’m making a card using Designer Series Paper, I’ll go into the catalogue and look which Stampin’ Up! Colours are in featured, but not for this card. Instead I chose to look and see what colours my eye saw, and that turned into Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick and Shaded Spruce, none of which are officially in the paper but does that really matter?!

The frame cut from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper is an awkward size for layering. To get around this I simply measured it carefully and then cut a piece of Grapefruit Grove card stock half a centimetre longer and wider before layering it onto a card base with a standard sized mat and actually it looks fine.

These frames are designed to fit the Stampin’ Up! note cards and envelopes, which they do perfectly, I just don’t use them very regularly in my crafting and as a result this particular piece of paper would usually get forgotten about!

Make It Monday | Petal Promenade Tag Card

Make It Monday how to make a tag using Beautiful Promenade from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Petal Promenade Tag Card

Make It Monday banner

Before I get to the card today I just need to remind you of a couple of things:

Make It Monday!

With that said, I have a fabulous Petal Promenade card for you today, using the coordinating Beautiful Layers Thinlits

Make It Monday with Petal Promenade from Stampin' Up! Pretty Valentines Card

One of the things that this stamp and die bundle encourages you to do is play with die cuts and stamped layers, and that it totally what I have done here. The Beautiful Layers dies combine beautifully with the Stitched Shapes Squares for a really fun look, plus the colours from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper just made for really pretty projects. I am little bit in love with this colour combination too…

The Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper pack is part of that fabulous Buy 3 Get 1 Free offer I mentioned at the top of this post. You have 10 fabulous packs of Designer Series Paper to choose from, and you can choose any combination of those 4 so that 4 different packs, or 4 of the same. Totally up to you!

This card is a quick, but complex looking build, with stamping on the Designer Series Paper, and a series of die cuts before a little more stamping and a trio of Basic Adhesive-Backed sequins to finish.

The tag is one of those elements that looks really tricky, but in reality is simple to do. There are two ways of making it; you could measure the width of the die and cut a piece of card stock accordingly before die cutting each end. Or you can follow my method; die cut the tag end from the middle of a sheet of scrap card stock, line up your layers and work out where the other end should be, then die cut the tag end again before snipping out the piece using Paper snips or a Stampin’ Trimmer

Beautiful layers I Love You card using Petal Promenade from Stampin' Up!

Either way you end up with this really lovely element for the front of your card, or what about just cutting one end and using it as a tag on your next gift?!
