Fun Just Because card how to use Patterned Paper in card making video tutorial using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

These first two cards are super simple to put together AND they use lots of Designer Series Paper… great for working through that paper stash! This second card uses my favourite print in the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper pack…. I just LOVE all that colour!

Didn’t catch my Facebook Live video… see it by clicking the link below..

The second set of cards from my last Facebook Live uses the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper pack. I will admit that this pack made me a little nervous when I saw it in the catalogue, but we used it at a recent Team Training event and I fell in love with the patterns in this one.. and the colour combinations….

Sending Love Thinking of You Card using Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

This card was totally inspired by my friend Caroline… she also used the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper, but a different pattern. I love that our cards are similar and yet totally different! even though we have used the same supplies!

Love You card using Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

This final card uses the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper, along with the Lots of Love stamp set… and the lovely Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder (love that one!)… to create a simply, fun card. I am a sucker for a fun colour combination, and I think I might have to pull this one out again soon!

Christmas Countdown | Hot Chocolate Stirrers!

Christmas Countdown Hot Chocolate and Snowflake Sentiments from Stampin' Up!

Christmas Countdown Video Tutorial Series StampinByHannah Stampin' Up! UK

Hello! Welcome to this week’s Christmas Countdown…. there are 72 days left before the fat man arrives… and no I have not started my Christmas shopping yet! or really even thinking about it.

I have however started to think about my favourite things to do in the winter. We have a strong evening routine in our house of hot chocolate before bed… it started with that need for something sweet after dinner, but with lower calories…. and well, as you can see that hasn’t worked all that well!

Christmas Countdown Hot Chocolate and Snowflake Sentiments from Stampin' Up!

My husband is a particular type of hot chocolate drinker… I think he would call it purest, its Cadbury’s or nothing! I personally, like the ones with different flavours… except white chocolate… that just not right!

So, these are right up his street…. nothing but chocolate-y goodness!

https://youtu.be/zj0aCPsn39Y

The bags are a Stampin’ Up! secret! I am sure that these are one of the most hidden items that Stampin’ Up! do… and yet they are in the catalogue, right there with all the fun papers and envelopes! Cellobags!

They even do various different sizes and types! These ones are the 3 x 6″ gusseted variety. I use the 6 x 8″ ones when I’m packing your class kits and prepping for my videos …. they are just one of those things that are super handy to have in your crafty stash!

Christmas Countdown How to make real Hot Chocolate and package using Stampin' Up! Supplies

The cute little labels are made using the Snowflake Sentiments bundle. This bundle comes with a super cute little label die… although I do think it is a little small for a gift, its the perfect size for price labels on your craft fair table, or packaging for your handmade soaps or chocolates… or like here for your instructions for your real Hot Chocolate!

Christmas Countdown how to make real hot chocolate!

These are super simply to make….in fact there is only one ingredient!

  1.  Get your kids or grandkids to eat 6 fromage frais type yogurts, and clean the pots
  2. Wipe the inside with vegetable oil using a pastry brush
  3. Melt a 150g bar of chocolate …. milk or dark is best! I find that the easiest way is to put just over half of the chocolate in a bowl and microwave it for 30 seconds at a time, giving it a good stir between blasts. Then, once the chocolate is melted, add the remaining chocolate and stir well.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate into the empty yogurt pots, ensuring that each pot has a similar amount.
  5. Add a wooden lollipop stick to the centre of each chocolate pot. Give the chocolate a moment to start to cool, and they should stand up on their own.
  6. Decorate with chocolate drops, edible glitters, mini marshmallows or sugar pearls
  7. Pop the chocolate pots into the fridge to set for a few hours (I would suggest overnight). Once they are fully set, the chocolate stirrers should pull out of the pots easily.

To enjoy your hot chocolate….

  • Fill your favourite mug 3/4 full with milk, and heat in the microwave until hot. Dunk your Hot Chocolate Stirrer into the hot milk and stir until the chocolate is fully melted.
  • Drink and enjoy!

Global Design Project #106 – Oh So Eclectic

Global Design Project #106 Sketch Challenge card using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

Its been a while since I took part in a Global Design Project challenge… it’s been just a little busy around here! but as soon as I saw this sketch yesterday I jumped into my craft room and created the card you can see below!

Global Design Project Sketch 106

I love a sketch with a circle… I think its because I love using circles on my cards. I am still obsessed with the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies, seriously if you don’t own these, they are an absolute must have! so handy to have a set of circles, squares and ovals… for such a good price too!

Oh So Eclectic card for the Global Design Project using Stampin' Up! products

This card uses the Oh So Eclectic stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue (have you seen my class using this set yet?) this stamp set is another one of my favourites, along with the coordinating die set and the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper too. It was a pretty simple card to put together, the strip of Designer Series Paper is layered with a die cut in Berry Burst Card stock. This die actually only cuts the inside shapes, but it is really easy to cut around it and make this fun geometric shape

Global Design Project #106 Sketch Challenge card using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

Then there is a piece of Berry Burst ribbon, one of those Stitched Shapes cut from Vellum, two Classic Labels and a bow in that same Berry Burst ribbon to finish.

You can find a video of this card over on my Instagram! Its the first time I’ve done one of these short videos over on Instagram, but it was loads of fun! will certainly have to do it again!

Christmas Countdown | Chocolate Truffle Boxes with Year of Cheer from Stampin’ Up!

Chocolate Truffle box using Year of Cheer from Stampin' Up!

Christmas Countdown Video Tutorial Series StampinByHannah Stampin' Up! UKOh my goodness, we are already nearing the end of September which means that it must be time to start my fabulous Christmas Countdown series for 2017! Now, I did do something similar to this last year, but this year I have a bit of a twist…. in that most of the projects in this series involve food (although there are a few exceptions!). As a total foodie and a bit of a secret baker, I thought this would be the perfect way to combine two of my passions!

Chocolate Truffle box using Year of Cheer from Stampin' Up!

Shall we look at the papercraft first? This fabulously sized box would be great for a host of things…. but I have chosen to put Chocolate, Rum and Coffee Truffles in mine (more on those in a minute!). This box is 4 x 4″ square and 1 1/2″ deep (or 10 x 10 x 4 cm if your a metric person!) and uses the GORGEOUS Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper. Seriously, this paper is beautiful! It features one of this seasons hot treads…. mixed metals, combining Gold, Silver, Copper and the brand new Champagne foil sheets.

Measurements:

Base – Crumb Cake Card Stock – 7 x 7″ (18 x 18 cm)

Score on each side at 1 1/2″ (4 cm)

Lid – Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper – 6 1/16 x 6 1/16″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm)

Score on each side at 1″ (2.5 cm)

Chocolate Truffle box using Year of Cheer from Stampin' Up!

These fabulous boxes also use the super pretty Foil Snowflakes (loving these… they are finding their way onto a LOT of projects at the moment!), and the Merry Little Labels bundle. Check the bottom of this blog post for a full list of products used, but first….. some chocolate!

How to make Chocolate truffles

These wonderfully rich creations are super quick and easy to make… although they do need some chilling time… and would be a great gift!

The original recipe for these came from HERE, although my version is a little different

Ingredients:

  • 250g Milk Chocolate
  • 75ml Double Cream
  • 2 tbsp Dark Rum
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee granules
  • 200g milk / white chocolate for the coating

Method:

  1. Line a flat bottomed tin with greaseproof paper (I use a plastic sandwich box) and break the chocolate into small pieces
  2. Heat the cream, rum and coffee granules in a small saucepan over a low heat, stirring until the coffee has dissolved and the cream is beginning to bubble around the edges
  3. Remove from the heat and add the chocolate, stir until the chocolate has melted, and you have a smooth mixture.
  4. Pour this into your tin / box / container and allow them to cool and chill for a few hours until fully set.
  5. Cover a tray with greaseproof paper. Remove the mixture from the tin and cut into 24 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place on the tray. Pop them back into the fridge.
  6. Melt two thirds of the remaining chocolate over a pan. Remove from the heat and add the rest of the chocolate and stir until it has all melted.
  7. Dip each truffle ball into the melted chocolate one at a time, ensuring each is completely covered before placing it back into the tray. This part is quite messy!
  8. Once each truffle is coated you can add final decoration… I prefer to flick melted white chocolate across mine, but you could coat in cocoa powder

My husband LOVES these…. they don’t usually get as far as being packaging into such a pretty box though!

Make It Monday | Quick and Easy Santa’s Suit Cards

Make It Monday Card making Video Tutorial Swap card using Santa's Suite from Stampin' Up!

Make It Monday

Last weekend I attended a Stampin’ Up! Team Training event…. and made two different swap cards. I shared THIS ONE last week, and have the second one to share with you today. Swaps are sample cards that we make for other demonstrators when we go to events, swapping is so much fun, and a great way to see lots of different ways of using our fabulous stamps! This particular event had organised swaps, where we signed up to make a few swaps on a particular theme…. hence why I have two different cards, because I signed up for a colour challenge swap as well as a Christmas themed one.

Make It Monday How to make a cute Christmas Card using Santa's Suite from Stampin' Up! Team Training Swap card

This card uses the Santa’s Suit stamp set…. which might just be my favourite Christmas Stamp set this year, it’s so cute… AND it comes with coordinating dies! Win! The Father Christmas is a two step stamp (another reason why I love this set!), the outline is one stamp, and then there is a second stamp to colour it in! No more bad colouring! Yay!

Measurements:

Card base – Garden Green – 10.5 x 29.7 cm, Score on the long edge at 14.85 cm

Whisper White Layer – 10 x 14.3 cm

Be Merry Designer Series Paper -4 x 13.8 cm

Make It Monday Card making Video Tutorial Swap card using Santa's Suite from Stampin' Up!

I’ve grabbed the Christmas Designer Series Paper from the annual catalogue. The Be Merry Designer Series Paper is one of those things that you could easily be missed… but it coordinates with a gorgeous stamp set and a heap of fun embellishments. I can also see this paper for projects other than Christmas…. as it has great mix of Christmas images and basic patterns.

DIY Designer Series Paper with Good Tidings

Creating your own Designer Series Paper using Good Tidings from Stampin' Up!

I love finding different ways to use my stamps…. and one of the techniques I don’t do nearly enough is creating my own Designer Series Paper using stamps! I love doing this kind of repetitive stamping, creating something unique each time, and a truly hand made creation!
Handmade Christmas card with DIY Designer Series Paper with Good Tidings from Stampin' Up!

This card features the Good Tidings stamp set (I am totally in LOVE with this one!). This awesome stamp set creates two sizes of holly sprigs with some 2-step stamping. Did you see THIS card I made with this stamp set last week. I am also using a different colour combination from the traditional Christmas…. although I wasn’t sure that it was going to work when I first started stamping! The leaves are in Old Olive and Tranquil Tide, and the berries are Rich Razzleberry and Fresh Fig.

Creating your own Designer Series Paper using Good Tidings from Stampin' Up!

This rich colour combo is set against Early Espresso for a classic styled Christmas Card. The sentiment is also taken from Good Tidings, and is stamped in Tranquil Tidy, die cut with the Layered Circles framelits and layered with a scalloped circle of Early Espresso.

Thanks so much for check out my blog today. Check out my store to buy everything you need to make this pretty Christmas Card, and sign up to my email newsletter using the link in the sidebar!

Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper Card

Designer Series Paper Thank You Card using Naturally Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

I work a few weeks ahead, always (well, almost always!) and projects usually end up here on my blog a few weeks after they have been made. I am also usually quite organised (I am a planner lover, and just bought myself a new diary….. such a stationary geek!) so cards sit in a nice neat pile on my desk until they are featured on my blog…. except that this card was made and immediately sent, and therefore never got chance to sit in the blog pile, and as such has been forgotten about!

Designer Series Paper Thank You Card using Naturally Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

I love Designer Series Paper…. but struggle to use it on cards (Sound familiar?!). So I thought I would share some of my tips and tricks to using Designer Series Paper with you today:

  • Cut it….. seriously, its easier to use once you have cut it (you can always buy more…. I like the ‘one to cut, and one to stroke’ idea!)
  • Grab the coordinating pack of Card stock with your Designer Series Paper…. that way you always have card stock that coordinates with your Designer Series Paper. (you could take this one step further and grab the ink pads to match too!)
  • Matt your Designer Series paper on coordinating card stock to make it pop
  • If you love lots of the Designer Series Paper….. you could always grab a paper share, saving you cash and the issue of having to use up lots and lots of sheets of 12 x 12″!

Designer Series Paper Thank You Card using Naturally Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

This particular card uses Naturally Eclectic Designer Series paper…. which I cut to pretty random sizes and then cut card stock layers to match. The sentiment is from Thankful Thoughts and the card is finished with a hint of that lovely Night of Navy Crinkle Seem Binding, yum!

How do you use your Designer Series Paper?
