Global Design Project #040 | Jars of Watercolour

Thank You watercolour Card featuring Jar of Love from Stampin' Up! Uk

Hello! I cannot believe it has been weeks since I joined in over at the Global Design Project! I have missed it, this weeks challenge is to CASE the Designer. This type of challenge always makes me a little nervous as the girls and guys over at GDP are so super talented, but I’m giving it a go

GDP 040 - Case the Designer

I love the stamp set Shawn De Oliveira has used on this card, and I almost used it as well. But I was totally drawn to the layout of this card, with the offset panel. So I thought I would use that instead.

Thank You watercolour Card featuring Jar of Love from Stampin' Up! Uk

Jar of Love was one of the stamp sets I knew I HAD to have when I first looked at the catalogue, those jars are just so adorable! I was actually making a different card when this one sort of appeared as if from no-where (I’ll be sharing the other card here on Saturday!)

Jar of Love Thanks Card Stampin' Up! UK

That watercolour background was so easy to create; add ink to a large acrylic block and use an Aqua Painter to pick up the colour, and wash it onto the Watercolour Paper. I repeated it several times to get an intense wash of Flirty Flamingo.

I cant get enough of that pretty side panel either, stamped on Pool Party ink onto Pool Party card stock for a great tone on tone effect – similar to what Shawn had done with his card too!

Watercolour Thank you card featuring Stampin' Up! UK Jar of Love

I couldn’t use Jar of Love without using a jar could I?! so this one is stamped in Smoky Slate, with Pool Party ‘water’ and a bow of Flirty Flamingo. That ‘Thanks’ is in the same stamp set, is stamped in Smoky Slate too.

Thanks for checking out my blog today, hope you have a great day

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge | May 2016

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Card English Garden

Stampin' Up! Sketch ChallengeIts that time again, I am so excited to see what everyone has made based on the sketch this month! I have chosen to use some Designer Series Paper that is on the retiring list and will sadly leave us on 31st May, but I am sure that some of the girls will show me some sneaky peaks of new products, and I cannot wait!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge May 2016

This months awesome Sketch is brought to us by Kathleen from lilypopcrafts.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge English Garden Birthday card using Stampin' Up! products

My challenge with this sketch was the diagonal element. I selected the Designer Series Paper – English Garden – based on the flowers on the sketch, but new I didn’t want to cut the corner off my paper. I had a little play around with the paper before coming up with this paper curl idea. I curled the Designer Series Paper around my paper piercer (you could use a pencil or a paint brush, anything round would work to be honest) and held the curl with a few Mini Glue Dots.

The Happy Birthday is from the Tin of Cards stamp set, and fits perfectly into the Decorative Label punch. I really wanted to create a boarder around the sentiment, and so cut apart a further 2 decorative label punch pieces (in Melon Mambo) to create a boarder.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Blog Hop Birthday Envelope English GardenOnce I had created the card I realised that it wouldn’t fit in a standard envelope, and so grabbed another piece of the same Designer Series paper and my Envelope Punch Board to create custom envelope.

Instructions:

Designer Series Paper – 8 7/8 x 8 7/8″ (I’m sticking to Imperial Measurements today, because I find them easier on the Envelope Punch Board)

Punch and Score on the first side at 3 3/8, and on the same sideat 4 1/8″

Rotate the paper by 90 degrees, line up the previous score lines with the marker on the punch board, punch and score. Repeat on all four sides.

Fold and burnish on the score lines, to create your envelope

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Card English GardenI completed the envelope with a belly band of Night of Navy card stock (26 x 5 cm, Scored on the long side at 11, 12.5, 23.5 and 25 cm). The sentiment is heat embossed in white, and the flowers and butterfly are taken from the Garden in Bloom Stamp set.

Thanks so much for visiting StampinByHannah today, don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and Weekly Inspiration Email! and hop on to the next blog in our challenge

Global Design Project #036

Global Design Project Case the Designer Thank You featuring Hello You from Stampin' Up!

Hello! yes, I’m back again with another Challenge entry. This time for the Global Design Project Case the Designer Challenge!

Global Design Project #036

This card from Paula Dobson is awesome. The idea for this challenge is that you take an element of the card, and use it as inspiration. I just love the ‘You’ thinlit die from the Hello You Thinits, and could not pass the the opportunity to use them again!

Global Design Project Case the Designer Thank You featuring Hello You from Stampin' Up!The ‘You’ is actually die cut 4 times, the first time from the stamped piece of Whisper White, and then 3 times in Early Espresso. It is super easy to layer these together using Tombow glue (although the silicone mat helps lots!). Before I die cut the You though I stamped onto the piece of Whisper White, first with the flowers from Birthday Blossoms in Perfect Plum, and then in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake with Gorgeous Grunge.

Thank you card featuring Stampin' Up! Uk products

The ‘Thank’ is from Crazy About You, although the stamp actually reads Thanks I masked off the S while I inked the stamp up in Versamark. I am tempted to cut off the S actually, I might get more use out of it that way, but then again, I’m not all that sure about Stamp Butchery!

To finish I added some gold splatter using a Gold Wink of Stella

Can You Case It #120 – Sketch Challenge

Watercolour Wishes Thanks Card using Stampin' Up! products

Hello! I have 2 challenge posts coming today and tomorrow. I know I don’t usually post on a Tuesday afternoon (or a Wedneday!) but I couldn’t miss this weeks Challenges.

The first is from Can You Case It!

Can You Case It 120 Sketch Challenge

Now, I love this type of sketch, really basic with plenty of room for imagination!

Watercolour Wishes Thanks Card using Stampin' Up! products

Recently I took the stamp set out of my Watercolour Wishes card kit. It is such a great stamp set that leaving it in the kit was just a waste! I have used it so much since it appeared on my shelves! I sponged the corner first in Basic Grey and then in Mint Macaron ink, and then stamped the little hearts in Mint Macaron. The ‘Thanks’ is heat embossed in White onto a 1″ strip of Vellum.

Keeping it simple today, but just wait until you see what I did for tomorrows challenge post!

Global Design Project #034 | Sketch Challenge

Global Design Project Mint Macaron Watercolour Wishes Card using Stampin' Up! products

I had so much fun with the Global Design Project Colour Challenge last week that I’m joining in again this week with their Sketch Challenge. One of the things I love about joining in with the Global Design Project is that the type of challenge changes, so its not a sketch each week. Love that!

Global Design Project #034

I love this sketch, but I think I was more inspired by the Global Design Project colour scheme this week – maybe my brain hasn’t moved on from the colour challenge last week!

Global Design Project Mint Macaron Watercolour Wishes Card using Stampin' Up! products

I have just dug out the stamp set from the Watercolour Wishes Card Kit. I really have to finish making the cards from that kit because they are gorgeous, but I realised last week that I haven’t used the stamp set included in the kit! shocking! So, seeing as it is coming back again next year, I thought I would move the stamps out of the kit and store them with the rest of my stamps!

I did think about watercolouring the background of this card, as per the sketch, but decided that I would rather sponge today. Once I had a good coverage of Mint Macaron ink I heat embossed the sentiment in White. I did add some extra ink after to make the sentiment pop.

The card was finished with a layer of vellum and a scattering of Silver sequins from my roll of sequin trim!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge | April 2016

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Thank Card using Go Wild Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! UK

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Hello! Long time to see! I have really missed this hop over the past couple of weeks, I can’t wait to hop around and see what the girls have created with this weeks sketch from Karen

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge April 2016

I was totally intimidated by this sketch. I have no idea why, but the whole thing really scared me. I stared at this sketch for over a fortnight before I had any inspiration what so ever, to the point where when Sam Johnson messaged me earlier in the week to remind me that the hop was this weekend, I had such a panic!

Once I had re-composed myself I started to look around my craft room. My shelves are currently looking kinda bare after I’ve removed all the stamp sets and embellishments that are retiring at the end of May. I don’t tend to share retiring products, I would hate for you to spot something I posted this week on my blog and go to shop only to find that it has already gone and you missed out. But please do use the link at the bottom of this post to check out the things that are retiring.

I almost used new products, but then felt bad that you wouldn’t be able to shop for them until 1st June – and that still feels like a very long way away!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Thank Card using Go Wild Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! UK

I also apologise for this photograph, I took my camera away with me last weekend, and I think the travelling has upset it because I cannot get a clear crisp image for love nor money! Looks like its time for a new camera!

Anyway, this card uses the Suite Sayings stamp set (staying with us for another 12 months) as well as some Designer Series Paper that is retiring – Go Wild! oh, and that ribbon is on the goodbye list too (I’m not good at not using retiring products am I!)

Card Measurements:

Card Base – (Half A4 folded in half ) – 14.85 x 21 cm scored on the long side at 10.5 cm

Card Layers – Whisper White Card stock – 14.2 x 10 cm, Designer Series Paper – 14.2 x 7 cm, Designer Series Paper – 14.2 x 2 cm

Whisper White Banner – 3 x 6.5 cm and cut into a banner

Masked Ink Blending

Stampin' Up! UK Butterfly Basics Birthday Card

Hello there! Firstly, I have to apologise for the lateness of this post, I really don’t know what is happening to me at the moment but my energy is at an all time low. After hosting my monthly Card Class last night, I just could not get motivated to move this morning!

The card I’m sharing today has been working its way out of my brain since I checked the Global Design Project Blog on Monday, I’m just glad I got to make it before the challenge closed!Global Design Project Sketch Challenge 30I always enjoy a sketch challenge, but this card formed in my head (after I’d checked the Global Design Project Blog) but I didn’t put the 2 together until yesterday.

Stampin' Up! UK Global Design Project Butterfly Basics

Now, trying to photograph a mainly white card is tricky, I hope you can forgive my slightly shaky skills.

At class last night the ladies were working through the current Annual catalogue working out their orders and someone mentioned that they loved this stamp set. I have to admit that my copy has been gathering dust slightly over the past few months, but it is definitely one of my all time favourites, I’m not sure if its the font, or the fern, or those flowers, or the fact that it coordinates with two die sets, but I love it!

Stampin' Up! UK Butterfly Basics Birthday Card

Ok, So the sentiment is from Butterfly Basics, and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss (retiring soon!). After the ink was dry, I used a 1″ strip of sticky note tape as a mask and covered that sentiment, before ink blending over the sentiment with Sahara sand ink and my sponge. I love this technique at the moment, I get to get all inky but I still get to see sharp white on my card!

The butterfly is die cut from Pear Pizzazz card stock, and the card is finished with 3 dots of Gold Glimmer paper punched with the 1/4″ and 1/8″ handheld punches (the same as I did on this card earlier in the week!)

Thanks for checking out my blog today, and I will be back soon with another card featuring this awesome stamp set!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge – Forever Begins Today

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Blooms Suite Sayings Wedding Card

Stampin' Up! Sketch ChallengeHello Everyone! So glad you could join us for another week of the Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! This weeks sketch comes from the lovely Justyna.

Simply Sketched Stampin' Up! Challenge Blog Hop

I love this sketch, it totally pushed me outside of my norm, and allowed me to create something very different for me. I have to admit that I also took inspiration from the ever so talented Teneale Williams for this one, particularly stamping on coloured card stock – definitely something I shall be doing more of!

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Blooms Suite Sayings Wedding Card

I of course had to turn the sketch this time. I haven’t rotated a sketch for a while – I love taking a sketch and editing it to suit me. So this time I turn it sideways.

I really don’t use a lot of coloured card stock, I buy heaps of Whisper White but a pack of a colour can last me years! This particular colour I didn’t think was one of my favourites, but now I’ve used it in such a big way it is starting to grow on me. Actually I use so little of this colour (Soft Suede) that when I came to stamp I realised I don’t even have the coordinating Ink! Shocking! So to get the tone on tone effect I jumped to another brown, Crumb Cake instead.

I’ve also used Crumb Cake to stamp and watercolour the Bloom in the circle. Can you believe that that is one ink colour?! its super pretty in real life, my camera work just has not done this one justice. The flowers from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack are also sponged in Crumb Cake.

Stampin' Up! UK Sketch Challenge Wedding Card Birthday Blooms Suite Sayings

The only other ink colour I have used here is Early Espresso for the sentiment, taken from Suite Sayings, and perfect to send as a wedding congratulations.

Have you spotted the gold glitter? Its actually a tape! and its currently FREE during Sale-a-bration! Awesome. Remember Sale-a-bration ends on the 31st of March, so don’t wait too long or this beautiful tape may have just already left us. To get this lovely tape for free you just have to spend £45, and the choose the tape as your free gift!

Thanks for stopping by today, and don’t forget to hop along to see what the girls have made with this sketch

Til next time

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge – A Rose Wonder Thank You

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge Rose Wonder

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Blog Hop, I’m so glad you joined us today.

This week it was my turn to design the sketch! I have been so looking forward to this bit, I love seeing how creative people can be so I set the girls a tough one this week –  a totally black sketch! I know, it was mean, but did they create some great projects (if you haven’t seen anyone elses creations yet, please use the buttons at the bottom of this post to see what everyone has created this week)

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge Rose Wonder

Saying that I designed this sketch, you would have thought I would have made my card straight away, and had some marvellous idea! I wish, no this week has been crazy, working 6 days, brand new job, very stressed, and so trying to make a card for today has been a bit of a nightmare to be honest. On Thursday I still hadn’t made anything and so started a quest through Pinterest for some inspiration – nothing, my crafty mojo had up’d and left! Great! But then, I woke on Friday with a card fully formed in my brain, wonderful, mojo returned! and so this was my creation!

Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder Thank you card

I die cut a circle from a piece of copy paper and used it as a mask to ink blend. The colours in the circle are Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red and Pool Party – all added with Stampin’ Sponges, and a very light touch. I stamped the flower before lifting the mask, and added some die cut leaves in Vellum and Whisper White card stock. I adhered these with a glue dots, which you could still see after adding the leaves, so the die cut flower was added to cover my mess!

Please hop on and see what the girls have made this week

Global Design Project #022 – What I love

Stampin' Up! UK What I Love Global Design Project #22

I am really trying to join in with the Global Design Project Challenges more often, however, I realised when I came to make this card (yesterday!) that I think it was a sketch challenge last time I took part, which means the last time I did one of their challenges was a month ago! oops!

oh well, I am trying! Its a super scary week for me this week as I start (yet another) new job. I’m hoping that this one is going to give me a little more time to devote to you, dearest blog readers and customers. I have got the next couple of weeks already written and scheduled (always a good idea when you know you’re going to be super busy!) but that doesn’t mean I’m not here, because I am, I’m still here plugging away at the keyboard and making heaps and heaps of cards!

Global Design Project Sketch 22

I realise that this sketch is kinda similar to the one I posted yesterday for the Simply Sketch Saturday Challenge, however I’m posting anyway!!!

Stampin' Up! UK What I Love Global Design Project #22

I also realised the other day that I haven’t really created very much with this years Sale-a-bration goodies. Last year I did Sale-a-bration on Sunday, and I haven’t really had time to do that this year, maybe I will start today (seeing as it’s Sunday) and do half of Sale-a-bration on Sunday. What do you think?

So, this is one of the Sale-a-bration goodies that you could earn for FREE when you spend £45 before the end of March! I’m loving this set, although I haven’t really stamped it. I actually think this is only the second time I’ve used it! What I love is a great set, and is one of those wonderful 3-step stamping sets. This time I’ve used Rich Razzleberry for the ‘outline’ stamp, and Rose Red for the solid stamps. Stampin' Up! UK What I love

The leaves are in Mossy Meadow, and were really tricky to fussy cut! I think I need more practice at fiddly fussy cutting because although things like those flowers I can cut without any really issue, those leaves were a pain!

Anyway, I did use a second stamp set on this card, those fabulous lines are from Gorgeous Grunge and are also stamped in Mossy Meadow. I’m still considering whether this card needs some Wink of Stella, I don’t know why I’m even really thinking about this – because every card is better with Wink of Stella!
