Inspire.Create.Challenge #102 | Whimsy and Wonder

This week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a simple sketch, with a large circle and a banner. I would LOVE to see what you make with it, so do add your creations to the Inspire.Create blog post.

Non-traditional Christmas Card using Whimsy and Wonder from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I swapped the banner for this fun trio of baubles, and rotated the image… but that is why I love a sketch, using it as a fun jumping off point rather than a strict card recipe.

Anyway, this card uses the fabulous Whimsy and Wonder suite: a fun mix of non-traditional Christmas colours and stamps that really do create some wonderful projects. I am loving playing with this one!

Handstamped Non-traditional Christmas Card using Whimsical Trees from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The baubles are coloured using a Blender Pen and Just Jade, Misty Moonlight, Bumblebee and Polished Pink inks.

Don’t forget to pop over to the Inspire.Create blog for the sketch and other fabulous creations from the Design Team!

Inspire.Create.Challenge #101 | Colour Challenge

Keeping it short and sweet for this weeks Inspire.Create blog post… partly because I want you to pop over to the Inspire.Create blog, but partly because it’s half past nine at night and this post is due to go out tomorrow morning! I’m usually a little more organised than this, but I haven’t been in my craft room at all this week and so I haven’t got this post written before.

Inspire.Create.Challenge 101 Hand Penned Petals Congratulations card using Stampin' Up! products with StampinByHannah

This week’s Inspire.Create is a colour combination challenge using; Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Misty Moonlight, Pale Papaya and Pool Party (or the colours from the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper). This soft colour combo led me to create this soft card with the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set, coordinating Designer Series Paper and the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

Pretty Floral handmade congratulations card using Hand Penned Petals from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

My favourite feature of this card is the ultra thin layer of Pale Papaya card stock that sits behind the Designer Series Paper. I just love that hint of a layer!

Please do pop over to the Inspire.Create blog and add your own creations using this pretty colour combination!

Inspire.Create.Challenge #100 | Time for a Celebration!

Good morning! Today’s post is less about the card, and more about what is behind it. Today marks 100 challenges for Inspire.Create.Challenge! I am SO proud of my little challenge blog, and the corner of the internet it sits in, and to be honest I can’t quite believe we have hit 100.

I started Inspire.Create in the summer of 2017, and I had no idea we would still be going 4 years on. We have seen a few changes in the 4 years we’ve been sharing, we’ve seen some Design Team Members come and go, we’ve changed days, and we had a little break this time last year whilst I found my feet with having 2 babies under 2. I have had plenty of change too; with a new day job, moving house, having 2 children, and a few bumps in my health. However; Inspire.Create continues to be a regular feature in my week. I love it just as much now as when I sat and created the original blog 4 years ago.

I had a bunch of plans to celebrate our 100; however life has totally got in my way (thanks to my son bringing home both COVID and Norovirus in the past few weeks, as well as a family holiday and a couple of Stampin’ Up! events). However, I would LOVE it if you would hop over to the Inspire.Create blog today and give he Design Team some love. Please consider making a card to celebrate and sharing it with us too.

Here’s to the next 100!

Inspire.Create.Challenges 032 | Anything goes with Rooted in Nature

Hand Stamped Leaf Birthday Card using Rooted in Nature from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenges 032 Anything goes with Rooted in Nature

inspire.create.challenge 032 Anything Goes Sketch

As you may know, I set the challenges for Inspire.Create, and this time I thought I would be really mean and set a completely blank challenge! I cannot WAIT to see what you guys make for this one too… don’t forget to check out  the Inspire.Create blog to see the fabulous Design Team’s work and enter your own creations.

Inspire.Create.Challenge Anything Goes Sketch Challenge Happy Birthday Card using Rooted in Nature from Stampin' Up!

I had a fun day a few weekends ago (before my craft room was packed up ready for the Big Move!) making a bunch of birthday cards, and this just sort of happened! Stampin’ Up! have started a demonstrator campaign for Simple Stamping this month, and I am attempting to embrace this (because I am rubbish at it!). So, this card uses minimal products, and so is super easy for you to replicate!

In actual fact it uses 2 stamp sets; but only because the Rooted in Nature stamp set doesn’t have a birthday sentiment. So I grabbed one of the Hostess Exclusive stamp sets, Hand Delivered, for the sentiment. But other than that its one ink, 2 colours of card stock and 1 ribbon.

Manly Happy Birthday Card using Rooted in Nature from Stampin' Up!

This card would work for a girl birthday or a boy one! Although I suppose that I’ve girl-ed this one up by adding a heap of Shimmer Paint on those leaves and a pretty Frosted Epoxy Droplets

Inspire.Create.Challenge 031 | Festive Colour Challenge

Inspire.Create.Challenge Dashing Deer Colour Challenge Card

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenge 031 Festive Colour Challenge

Inspire.Create.Challenge Stampin' Up! Cardmaking Challenge

This fortnights Inspire.Create.Challenge is a pretty colour combination inspired by the oh so popular Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper from this years Stampin’ Up! Autumn Winter Catalogue. Now, be warned that this paper is While Stocks Last because it has been SO popular. So run, don’t walk to the Online store to grab yours today!

Clean and Simple Handmade Christmas Card using Dashing Deer from Stampin' Up!

Saying that, I haven’t used the Joyous Noel suite at all for today’s card, instead I have opted for the fabulously fun Dashing Deer instead. This pretty deer stamp is winning for me at the moment, I just cannot get enough of it! Here it’s been stamped in Merry Merlot and die cut using the coordinating Detailed Deer thinlits.

Inspire.Create.Challenge Dashing Deer Colour Challenge Card

The deer is layered over some copper heat embossed stamping and a piece of the copper trim, oh and some splatter in shaded spruce too! You could add even more to this card, with sequins, or rhinestones, or those stunning frosted Epoxy dots, however I chose to keep things simple and make a clean and simple (ish) card for this weeks Inspire. Create.Challenge.

Check out the other Design Team members colour creations over on the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog and enter your own projects too. Projects can be added from a vareity of places including your own blogs, public galleries, Pinterest, or even a public Facebook Post. We cannot wait to see them!

Merry Christmas with Snow is Glistening from Stampin’ Up!

Gold and Green watercolour Merry Christmas Card using Snow is Glistening from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Merry Christmas with Snow is Glistening from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! Snowflake Showcase

This month Stampin’ Up! have released 2 fabulous stamp sets with a coordinating set of dies to celebrate the lead up to Christmas. The Snowflake Showcase Suite is a fabulous mix of Festive Christmas and all year round pretty images that you can use year after year.

Today’s card is a bit of a CASE (copy and selectively edit) of a card by the ever talented Kristina Werner. Her card didn’t use Stampin’ Up! products, but I immediately saw the fabulous Snow is Glistening Stamp set in her creation, and just HAD to have a go

Simple Watercolour Christmas Card using Snow is Glistening from Stampin' Up!

Usually green is not my favourite, but the simple combination of Mossy Meadow, Gold and White made my heart sing. The tree from Snow is Glistening was stamped into a piece of Watercolour Paper using Versamark. I use the Stamparatus when stamping in Watercolour Paper because the paper is textured it can sometimes take a few applications of ink to get a well defined image. The tree was then heat embossed with Gold embossing powder.

Green watercolour Christmas Tree Christmas Card handmade using Snow is Glistening from Stampin' Up!

The watercolour paper then took several layers of Mossy Meadow ink mixed with water, with more ink added at the corners to leave the centre a little lighter. Once this was dry, I inked the edges of the watercolour paper with more Versamark and added Gold embossing powder for a fun boarder.

The card is finished with a heat embossed sentiment in Vellum, and a layer of Whisper White between the Watercolour Paper and the Mossy Meadow Card Base

Bright and Fun Snowflake Christmas Card using Snowflake Showcase from Stampin’ Up!

How to make a clean and simple Snowflake Christmas card using Snow is Glistening from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Bright and Fun Snowflake Christmas Card using Snowflake Showcase from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! Snowflake Showcase

This month Stampin’ Up! have released 2 fabulous stamp sets and a coordinating set of dies, along with a pack of fun embellishments. Unfortunately the gorgeous White Velvet paper has already disappeared from the store, but I would take this as an indication of the popularity of these fabulous goodies and get them quickly!

Clean and simple snowflake Christmas Card using Stampin' Up! products

This bright Christmas card uses the pretty Velvet paper on the large die cut snowflake, however I’m sure it would look just as pretty using Thick Whisper White instead. This die cut looks really intricate, but it still cuts beautifully. I did have to poke out a fair number of bits, and I don’t know about you, but I never really mind doing that. Although you could grab the Big Shot Die Brush if you were going to cut loads of them.

Large die cut snowflake Christmas card using snow is glistening from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is taken from the coordinating Happiness Surrounds stamp set, and its heat embossed in Silver onto a die cut piece of Bermuda Bay card stock.

This card is finished with a heap of sparkly splatter using the fabulous Shimmer Paints. Do check the shopping list below for all the items used on this card.

Inspire.Create.Challenge 029 | Thankful Card

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenge 029 Thankful Card

inspire.create.challenge thankful

Today’s blog post features a bit of a sneaky peak of some new products that launch tomorrow! Stampin’ Up! are releasing 2 fun stamp sets and a coordinating set of dies, a pack of embellishments and some unusual papers exclusively in November. I’ll have all the details on the blog tomorrow… but for now here is a sneaky peak of Happiness Surrounds

This card uses the Happiness Surrounds Stamp Set and Snowfall thinlits. I am loving layering stamped images at the moment and here there are stamps layered, with die cuts and then some heat embossing to finish.

The sentiment isn’t from these exclusive stamp sets, its taken from one of my old favourites; Thankful Thoughts.

I think that this colour combination is particularly fun too…

I have a whole lot to be Thankful for at the moment… do check out my post from Monday if you’re not up to speed with what has been going on in my world recently! Thanks to everyone who has left such lovely comments on that post… I had no idea so many people read my little blog!

cute thankful card using Happiness Surrounds from Stampin' Up!

We would LOVE to see your Thankful card or other thankful projects over on the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog this week! You can share your projects with us using the link at the bottom of the challenge blog post

InspireINK Blog Hop | Autumn Ombre with Timeless Tidings

Ombre inking Christmas Card using Timeless Tidings from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah InspireINK Blog Hop Autumn Ombre with Timeless Tidings

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

This month’s InspireINK theme was chosen by the wonderful woman behind InspireINK; Sam Roberts! Sam chose the theme of Autumn…. which first made me think of leaves (don’t have any stamps of leaves really), and then being cold (not the best idea for the start of a card), and then of colours; rich yellows, oranges and reds of the leaves as they change and fall from the trees.

This thought then led me to ombre…. and some silhouette stamping, and so this card was born!

Ombre inking Christmas Card using Timeless Tidings from Stampin' Up!

The focus of this card is that background, which looks like it would be really complicated to do but actually is fairly simple. The trick is a Sponge Brayer; and a stack of ink colours!

I have shared video’s of how to use a Sponge Brayer before, but really all you need to do it ink up the brayer (evenly, which can be the tricky bit) and then gently roll the sponge back and forward across the card stock to transfer the ink. Start at the lightest colour and work your way darker, and only use a little ink at a time to prevent harsh lines.

The colours blended on this card are: Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Grapefruit Grove, Calypso Coral, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler.

Ombre inking Christmas Card using Timeless Tidings from Stampin' Up!

Once the ombre effect was complete; I used my Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment and the tree from Timeless Tidings in Memento ink.

I can’t wait to see what everyone else has made with the Autumn theme, check them out using the NEXT button below…

Simple Classic Christmas Card using Dashing Deer

How to make a fun Shimmery Christmas card using Dashing Deer from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Simple Classic Christmas Card using Dashing Deer

Super Shimmery Christmas Card using Dashing Deer from Stampin' Up!

Today’s Dashing Deer card is another simple, classic card layout…. with a heap of added shimmer! Yes, I’ve been playing with those Stampin’ Up! Shimmer paints again. This time I’ve actually painted with them, and coloured the die cut deer with Frost White Shimmer Paint.

The rest of the card is a lovely mix of Gray Granite and Cherry Cobbler, with a piece of Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper to complete the look.

Simple Classic Handmade Christmas Card using Dashing Deer from Stampin' Up!

I love that the Deer is almost silver in colour. It was die cut from Gray Granite card stock, I’m sure that if I had used Cherry Cobbler this card would have looked very different

Do check back tomorrow for a fun 3D Dashing Deer idea!
