Fun Floral Thank you card!

Every now and again I get requests from family and friends for a special card for a special occasion. Recently some of my work colleagues requested a Thank You card, and this is what I made….

Now, I have a confession to make with this card….. it uses 4 different stamp sets! Yes, I know, but my excuse is that it is a big 8 x 8″ card, and I needed to fill the space! So, step by step…

I stamped the sentiment from Thankful Thoughts in the centre of the card using Sweet Sugarplum ink
The Fresh Fig Flowers came next, taken from Lots of Love – I love this stamp set! and I added leaves in Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, and Sweet Sugarplum too
Then the Blushing Bride leaves filled in the gaps (the stamp is also from Lots of Love)
The card was still missing something, so I grabbed one of the stamps from Oh So Eclectic. This fun stamp is either tiny bird foot prints, or little flowers…. I can’t decide… but it is stamped in Sweet Sugarplum
But there was still something missing…. yes, some gold embossed splatter from Awesomely Artistic! Perfect

So such a big card, it needed some stamping on the inside too. I took each element from the front and stamped it inside.

I do hope the lovely lady that received it enjoyed it!

Pootlers Design Team | You Are Remarkable

Pootles Papercraft Design Team June 2017 Floral Just Because Card using Remarkable You from Stampin' Up!

Week 2 of the fabulous June Pootler’s Design Team, this month we are making projects using the fabulous Remarkable You stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

As I said last week, this stamp set just sings ‘Watercolour’ to me, and so I couldn’t not make a card that watercoloured the images (Ok, almost all my projects use watercolour!)

I struggled with this card, which is one of the reasons it has no sentiment – I love it, and had to stop where I did or it was in grave danger of being that card that has everything in my craft room thrown at it!

I love the ‘hint’ of Dapper Denim on one of the layers, and that flower was surprisingly easy to fussy cut too.

Measurements:

Card Base – Dapper Denim – Half a sheet of A4, scored at 14.8cm

Whisper White – 10 x 14.3 cm

Basic Grey – 6.7 x 10.9 cm

Whisper White – 6.4 x 10.6 cm

Sending Love with Ink Blending

Stampin' Up! ink blended card using Lots of Love Display Stamper Sample

I’m sure by now you are sick of me waffling about being chosen as a Display Stamper for Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage Live event in Amsterdam in April…. but I still have plenty of cards to share with you that I made for that fabulous event! I made 15 fun projects, and while I wont be sharing them all I will be showing you most of them over the next few months and weeks. If I am totally honest with you I am sort of saving them for those weeks where I haven’t had much time to craft, but I still want to share things with you

To create this card I created a circular mask out of copier paper (cut with the largest circle from the layering circle dies), and used my sponges to ink through the circle with Berry Burst, Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide. The imaged from Lots of Love were then stamped over the top in Basic Black ink creating a sort of silhouette effect.

A simple card for today, but like I said, I haven’t had much time to craft this week – I am trying to get ahead so that you have fun inspiration all month, June is a busy one with James having a couple of weekends off and I’m heading to a crafty retreat in a couple of weeks too!

Pootlers Design Team | Remarkable You

Pootles Papercraft Design Team Just Because Card using Remarkable You from Stampin' Up!

Oh my goodness, I am so honoured to be chosen as one of the Pootler’s Design Team for June! The lovely Sam asks the team each month to volunteer to be a part of the Design Team, I will often put my name forward… but this month I had completely forgotten about it. So, a few weeks ago I get home from work to find a (rather large) envelope, I spotted Sam’s details on the front and found this great stamp set…. and then got really confused as to why I was being sent stamps!

This stamp set just sings ‘Watercolour’ but for my first card I didn’t want to watercolour the image… but the watercolour idea got stuck in my head, and turned into this watercolour / Ink-Smooshing number!

The bottom right hand colour is coloured in two colours of ink; Tranquil Tide and Emerald Envy. Ink-Smooshing is so simple, and great for those who love a bit of watercolour but don’t like the mess! I generally use my largest clear block as a sort of palate, I add water to the ink and then pick the ink/water mixture up using a piece of Window Sheet (or the backing from some stamps!). This window sheet becomes a sort of paint brush with which you apply the ink to the paper. I applied Tranquil Tide first, and dried it with my heat tool before adding a layer of Emerald Envy.

The card is completed with the leaves stamped a couple of times in Basic Black, and the sentiment from Remarkable You, and then a trio of Enamel Shapes in Rose Red for a pop of pink!

Stinkin’ Inkers | Girls just want to have fun

Stinkin Inkers Card Making Challenge Just Because Card using Garden Girl and Beautiful You from Stampin' Up!

Hello! This card was such a challenge….and totally pushed me out of my usual style. I have to admit to taking some inspiration from the other fabulous ladies in the Design Team at Stinkin’ Inkers on this one.

This card uses the Garden Girl stamp set from the new Stampin’ Up! Annual catalogue. I have a few projects with this stamp set coming up, but I think this one is my favourite. The girl is stamped in Archival Basic Black ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, she is then coloured with Watercolour Pencils. Now, I could have fully watercoloured this (particularly as I used Thick Very Vanilla – LOVE!) but instead of using water I blended the pencil with a Blender Pen.

I used the Stitched Shapes framelits to die cut out the stamped image. No, we don’t have a stitched rectangle die (I know, its disappointing) but its super easy to make a rectangle out of the square framelit…. I have tried to type out instructions, but I cant make it make sense…. probably should do a video!

The card is finished with an embossed background using the seaside textured embossing folder, and adding a sentiment from Beautiful You, and a bow in Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon.

Make It Monday | Quick and Easy Thank you cards

Hello! I feel like its been ages since I have filmed a proper Make It Monday! This weekend I have been filming and making like a crazy woman…. June is busy with James having a couple of weekends off, and a crafty retreat later in the month – meaning that I needed to get some serious work done ready!

This is my Thank You card for the wonderful ladies and gentlemen that shopped with me in May. They are super simple to stamp, as you can see from the video, they were quick to make! They use 3 of the 5 new In-Colours; Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist and Powder Pink. The stamp set is Oh So Ecletic…. which I have had for a couple of months but never managed to get inky! I know, it’s shocking, but I was waiting for the matching thinlits dies! Oh, well, they arrive this week so expect to see many many more cards with this stamp set really soon!

Measurements:

Card Base – 10.5 x 29.7 cm (half a sheet of A4) scored on the long side at 14.85 cm

Designer Series Paper – 14.8 x 3 cm

Fresh Fig Card stock – 14.8 x 1 cm

The Designer Series Paper I have used here is from the In-Colour Designer Series Paper Stack; Fresh Florals. I am in LOVE with this paper, but I do want you to know that there it does have a ‘watercolour wash’ effect and the more solid papers don’t appear as solid colours… there has been much debate about this paper among demonstrators over the last month, I am totally in love with it, I love the watercolour effect and when you cut the paper up the effect becomes much more subtle.

I hope you love this card as much as I do, and if you have ordered from me during May you’re cards are hitting the post office today, so watch out for them arriving later in the week.

In Colour Week | Tranquil Tide

Stampin' Up! 2017 In Colour Tranquil Tide Happy Birthday Card using Fresh Florals and Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Tranquil Tide is the last new In-Colour… its a beautiful deep teal colour, a colour like no other in our colour collection. It pairs beautifully with Emerald Envy, and works really well with pinks and purple tones.

This fun card was inspired by a card I spotted on Instagram a few weeks ago, and was borne from the idea of dry embossing Vellum. The vellum on this card was embossed with the Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and is a super soft layer over the fabulous Fresh Floral Designer Series Paper.

In Colour Week | Berry Burst

Stampin' Up! In Colour 2017 Berry Burst Fun Crafting Forever Card

Oh, it’s Thursday…. it’s 1st June….. it’s Catalogue Launch Day!!!! Yay!

I have a couple of blog posts that will be going live today, including a video that should be live at 8AM, but for now, I have a card using the fabulous Berry Burst!

This card might be my favourite card of the week! It uses a new stamp set as well as a new colour. Crafting Forever is the perfect crafty stamp set… not only does it include scissors, and paint brushes and pens, but it also has some fun sentiments that are perfect to send your crafty friends.

The reason I love this card so much isn’t totally about the stamp set, it also uses one of my most favourite techniques. This great masking technique uses Fine-Tip Glue; where you stamp and then cover the image with Fine-Tip glue, let in dry and then add ink over the top – the image stays perfectly white which the rest of the card stock is coloured. I added extra glue to this card, lots of dots of glue to create a fun polka-dot effect.

Oh this colour is so pretty…. Introducing Powder Pink!

This card uses the fabulous Delightful Daisy stamp and die bundle. I have BIG plans for this bundle…. maybe a class… maybe some tutorials.
