Floral Phrases Thank You Card

I recently cleared my craft room of stamps, dies, ribbons, punches, and anything else that is retiring at the end of May. I love this time of year…. the sun is shining (sometimes!), my craft room gets a bit of a spring clean, and we start to see prepare for the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. I won’t keep everything that I have that is retiring… I will be slowly getting rid of things probably during the summer but I will let you know when that happens!

So, I currently have a much reduced crafty stash…. which has done wonders for my creativity! Sometimes we feel we need this thing or that stamp to make great projects… but working with what is actually in your craft room rather than dreaming about this die or that stamp, I find anyway, yields much better results!

As I have removed all my retiring stamps from my shelf, I only have current and continuing products to play with…. and I am so excited for this stamp set to find it’s way into the new catalogue, along with a stunning pack of Designer Series paper to match it! This is Floral Phrases, and it has been seen in Night of Navy a LOT in the past 12 months…. just watch this space to see it in some fabulous new colours! Here I have stamped in Perfect plum.

This simple card is finished with a bow in linen thread and a trio of embellishments; two Enamel shapes – one in Perfect Plum, the other Elegant Eggplant – and a Rhinestone.

Simple and pretty, great for wedding thank yous I think!

Global Design Project #084 | Just for you Watercolour Wings

Global Design Project #084 Just for you card using Watercolour Wings from Stampin' Up!

Oh my goodness, this might be my fastest make ever! I managed to get into my craft room, get inspiration and make this card in less than 20 minutes… which is good really seeing as I am writing this at 21:30 on Monday night!

This week’s Global Deign Project challenge is to CASE the designer…. and well, I’ve already CASE’d this particular designer once in the past week, but she is totally awesome! I am so proud to be a part of her wonderful team of stampers…. it is of course, the totally gorgeous Michelle Last!

I have taken a few elements of Michelle’s card to create my own… the neutral card base, embossed background and that square. Is anyone else a bit obsessed with the Stitched Shapes dies at the minute, or is it just me…. I can’t put them away!

The other element I have taken from Michelle’s card is a stamped and die cut image, but I have swapped the bird for a butterfly. This one is stamped from the Watercolour Wings stamp set, and uses Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry and Rose Red, and I have curled the wings a little for a bit of added dimension

Make It Monday | Faux Shadow Embossing Technique

Make It Monday Video Tutorial creating a fun thank you card using the faux shadow embossing technique with Thankful Thoughts and Playful Backgrounds from Stampin' Up!

Hello! Welcome to another Make It Monday here at StampinByHannah! I have a great card project for you this week, along with a quick, simple and fun technique using heat embossing!

I found this card on Jennifer McGuires Blog a few weeks ago, and thought it looked simple enough! So I had a go….

The background on this card was almost a piece of Designer Series Paper… but with the Retiring List, lots of papers have already sold out and I didn’t want to share something you might not be able to get! So, instead I created by own DSP using the Playful Backgrounds stamp set, stamped in Emerald Envy and Early Espresso.

The sentiment is the main focus of this card. To create the Faux Shadow effect the sentiment is first stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder. Then, and this is where a stamp positioning tool like the Stamp-a-ma-jig is super helpful, you stamp again but offset it slightly, heat emboss again in a colour…. and as if by magic it looks super dimensional! Awesome!

The Sentiment is also on a die cut from the Stitched Shapes Framelit dies (I LOVE these!) to give it a little extra something!

Our sketch this month was created by the fabulous Heidi Smith of FlutterbyHeidi…. didn’t she do a great job?!

I have to admit to being more than a little intimidated by this one… the number of elements on this card were slightly too much for my comfort zone! I cannot wait to see what the other girls have created with it though!

Those rectangles at the top of the sketch just sang ‘jars’ to me…. so I played around with the Jar of Love stamp set for a while before this appeared. The jars took several turns during our journey… they were vellum… they were empty…. they were all the same…. but this is what I settled on.

I love this stamp set and have another card using it coming really soon…

3D Friday | Green and Blacks Mini Chocolate Gift Bags

I have made several confessions to you, my lovely blog readers, over the past few months…. I can’t remember if I have said this one before…. I am a chocoholic! I LOVE anything chocolate, or chocolate flavoured, or really any form of chocolate really. And that is why today’s tutorial is a bit of a miracle…. chocolate has survived in my craft room long enough for me to make a cute project using it! (actually I have more than one, keep you posted on those soon!)

3D Friday | Customer Thank You Treats!

3D Friday video Tutorial March Customer Thank you sweet treats using Urban Underground Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

Friday! Yay! I have a super quick video for you today… yes it is possible for me to make a video in less than 5 minutes. I think the main reason this one is so quick is that I had an awful tickle-y cough the day I film this and 5 minutes is about the maximum time I went between coughing fits! Oh the joys of making video tutorials! I hope you enjoy!

These sweet treat packets contain a little something for my customers, and they were part of my Customer Thank You Packs that I sent out in March. I love sending a little something to everyone that shops with me during the month. At the end of each month I make a batch of cards and a cute little something for each person who shopped with me during the month, including those who are part of my Birthday Card Club!

These particular treats use the Urban Underground Designer Series Paper and the Carousel Birthday stamp set (isn’t it fab that that stamp fits into the Decorative Label punch!). This paper is great for guy cards and projects but this dot felt more feminine to me and was perfect for these little gifts

Male Birthday Card using Nailed It! from Stampin’ Up!

Ok, so last week (before I headed to Amsterdam) I sat in my crafty office looking around, thinking “there is a card around here somewhere that I haven’t blogged yet” but I couldn’t find it. I photograph everything I make, but I had nothing in my photo files, nothing lying around the office…. but I knew I had made something that I hadn’t shared with you guys yet. I packed my suitcase, tidied up, and sat down on the sofa to relax with James before I went away…. and there it was…. James’ birthday card! I had made it in such a hurry that I hadn’t photographed it, no wonder I couldn’t find it!

So, I thought I’d share it today instead. But I have another confession to make…. this stamp set (Nailed It!) is on the Retiring List…. and the matching dies have already sold out! Things move quickly off that list, so please, I would HATE for you to miss something that you love, go and check out what is left …. I’ll wait here while you pop an order in don’t worry……

Global Design Project #082 | So In Love

Global Design Project #082 Just for you card using So In Love from Stampin' Up!

I am back in my craft room after spending 5 days in Amsterdam last week for Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live…. We had a great time and I cannot wait to show you the next Annual Catalogue (it is Awesome!!), but I am back, and seeing as it is Tuesday, it’s time for my entry for the Global Design Project.

I think this is a great sketch and had a great time making my card this week…. and it was a great kick start back into making things after spending 5 days talking about making things!

I did start this project planning not to use purple…. but something happened and I was drawn to Rich Razzleberry! As the Retiring List was released yesterday I realised I hadn’t used enough of my Spring Summer purchases yet, and I love this stamp set… it’s called So In Love and it has the most beautiful set of dies that coordinate with it.

I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry onto Whisper White, and then added some pretty leaves in Sweet Sugarplum stamped off once. This was then die cut using the second smallest circle die from the Layering Circles Framelits.

The stripe of Sweet Sugarplum card stock on the left hand side of the card is stamped using two stamps from the same set also in Sweet Sugarplum for a lovely tone on tone effect.

I finished this card with a length of Linen Thread wrapped around the card and a double bow (also in Linen Thread) added with a glue dot.

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah this week! I hope you have had a great weekend, I am in recovery mode after spending the weekend with my Stampin’ Sisters in Amsterdam (check out my Facebook / Instagram for what we got up to!)

I have a slightly different video tutorial for you today… making 6 cards from start to finish

Each month I make cards for my Customers as part of my Thank You packets. Everyone who shops with me receives a hand made card, along with a sweet treat and my monthly newsletter. I love sending these out, and they get even better when you use the Code Club Code! This special club starts a fresh each month, all you have to do to join in is add the monthly code at check out, and I will send you something special the following month!

I don’t usually give you measurements for cards, but I mentioned them in the video…. although I make cards in metric measurements (mainly because I use A4) so that is what I have put here

Measurements:

Card Base – Half A4, folded in half (I do this by taking a sheet of A4 and scoring on the short edge at 10.5 cm, and then cutting at 14.85 cm – this why I have scored and cut two cards at once)

Whisper White mat – 10 x 14.3 cm

Designer Series Paper – 9.5 x 13.8 cm

Whisper White stripe (which is the end of the piece of Whisper White when you’ve cut 4 pieces as above) – 1.2 x 10 cm

I love this Designer Series Paper…. so much that I have been guilty of hoarding it! However, as we approach the end of this years Annual catalogue it’s time to get that DSP used! This particular paper is Floral Boutique and it coordinates with the Floral Phrases stamp set (that also has coordinating dies!). This suite of products is just stunning and would make beautiful wedding stationary.

Right, that’s all for me today, I’m off to unpack and sort of laundry before I start back at the day job tomorrow!
