Yes, today we continue Birthday Card Week! I know that you make more Birthday Cards than anything else and I get more requests from family and friends to make Birthday cards than any other card. So today I have a fun Birthday Card with a bit of a wow factor…

I’m such a sucker from a great colour combination, and I REALLY love this one! Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist and Melon Mambo.

There are a number of layers on this card… (I would apologise, but I am having heaps of fun with lots of elements at the moment!)

The Hearts & Stars Elements are so pretty. The top star is adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, while the lower one is not actually stuck at all, but rather trapped as the dimensional holding the sentiment in place is actually in the centre of it.

Oh yes… the next big card making event (other than Birthdays!) is Valentines day and this week’s Inspire.Create.Challenges Love Themed challenge should give you plenty of ideas and inspiration! We would LOVE to see your Love themed creations too… don’t forget to enter the challenge over on the Inspire.Create.Challenges blog!

The Heart Happiness Stamp Set from the new Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer catalogue is full of fun hearts (not a sentiment in sight!) and it coordinates with TWO sets of dies too; Lots to Love Box Framelits and the Sweet and Sassy Framelits. However, I did hand cut the tall skinny heart without much issue.

I actually filmed watercolouring the floral heart, which I will share on my Instagram later on today. I used a combination of Powder Pink, Rose Red and Rich Razzleberry to colour the heart, and lots of layers of colour.

The other heart is stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto Vellum, and I hand cut it as I mentioned.

The sentiment is taken from the Petal Palette stamp set, stamped in Rose Red onto Shimmery White card stock. Before the ink was totally dry I rubbed over it with a dry-ish Aqua-Painter to create this watercolour wash effect. I have been loving using the Everyday Label punch, and I punched out the sentiment but it was a little big. So I trimmed it! I love the look actually.

Before I get into the blog post for today… I just want to let you know that today is my January Facebook Live Online Card Class! Check out my Facebook page at 2PM!

Last Friday was my birthday… but one day isn’t long enough to celebrate is it?! So, this week I have a WHOLE WEEK of fabulous birthday inspiration for you!

Today’s card is one I made for one of my Father-in-law’s birthday’s before Christmas. As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I get to pre-order new products the month before catalogue launches, and I took full advantage of that to make this card!

One of the many things that drew me to this particular suite in the new Spring Summer catalogue is the colour combination in this Designer Series Paper; Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide and Very Vanilla. You guys know how much I love a good colour combination, and I LOVE this one! I have to say though that when I first read ‘Crushed Curry’ in the catalogue, it did think that someone had made a mistake, but no, there is a hint of Yellow in these papers and it really makes thinks Pop!

Carrying on with the hint of Yellow theme, I added my own to this card. I mentioned a few weeks ago that sometimes I want a hint of colour behind a die cut, and that layering another die cut is sometimes too much… well, I pulled out this technique again here. Once I had the circle stamped and die cut, I ran the circle through my Crushed Curry ink pad to add a hint of colour.

Ok, so last Friday was my birthday… but one day isn’t long enough to celebrate is it?! So, this week I have a WHOLE WEEK of fabulous birthday inspiration for you! Today’s card is super simple, but the Designer Series Paper is just so stunning that it’s such a shame to cover it up!

This Designer Series Paper is special, it features actual photographs of fabulous birthday images; confetti, cookies, donuts, party hats and more! Welcome to StampinByHannah… today’s blog post is a super special one! I am privileged to organise our team blog hops, I LOVE doing them! Partly because I just love to share, but I get a sneaky peak of everyone’s projects and I know that this time the girls have made some totally awesome projects! I have been running the hop for 3 wonderful years, and I am so pleased to see so many members of the team taking part this time… we have 30 fabulous blogs for you today! Please take some time to check them all out and leave some comment love on your travels too.

The Petal Palette suite is my absolute favourite from the new Spring Summer catalogue! I am such a sucker for a stamp set with a good font, and this one has fabulous fonts, lovely sentiments and some gorgeous florals too. The stamp set coordinates with a fabulous set of dies, the Petals and More thinlits do more than just cut out some of the stamps, there are some lovely layering pieces in there too.

I coloured in the floral stamp with Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils and blended the colours with a Blender pen, before using the coordinating die to cut it out. This floral stamp is then layered with two of the die cuts, and some stamping and Gold Heat Embossing to create the final effect.

It’s FRIDAY! actually… it’s more than just Friday today, today is my 30th Birthday. I am super excited to be sharing my 30th Birthday year with Stampin’ Up! and have some celebratory plans coming later in the year. Today I’m planning on taking the day as a ‘Me Day’ although I am sure that James has some other plans!

Today’s video is a little different, in that I don’t have an actual project to make with you, but I wanted you to see how easy it is to get started with Brusho!

I do have a couple of top tips:

Clear your work area … Brusho can get a little messy, particularly if you are using it with a Stampin’ Spritzer, so tidy up anything precious before you start
If you don’t like messy fingers I would suggest grabbing some disposable gloves!
Time… it’s likely to run away with you once you get started, so make sure you’ve got an afternoon free to play!

Every month I share an Online Card class Live on Facebook. My next class is at 2PM (GMT) on the 9th January, and we are going to play with the Beautiful Day stamp set as well as Brusho a little more!
