Thoughtful Branches | Pretty in Pink

Thank You Card using Thoughtful Branches from Stampin' Up! Uk

Are you LOVING the Thoughtful Branches bundle yet? You are – go and grab it before it sells out!

The card I am sharing today is the very first card I made with it. Some of my Stampin’ Sisters weren’t sure about it (I can’t work out why not!) but wanted to see some creations using the bundle before they took the plunge and grabbed it for themselves, I don’t blame them its always nice to see what you can make with something before you make a purchase (after all, that is what I am here for!). So, I made a few cards and shared them in our Facebook group a few weeks ago.

I was trying to work out some alternative uses for the leaves die, and I thought using it to make a sort of doily was a great idea!

Thank You Card using Thoughtful Branches from Stampin' Up! Uk

The soft colours on this one were really tricky to photograph. The colours are Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz and Tip Top Taupe. But can you see the doily poking out of the side of the stamped layer? yes, its the leaves die cut, I did add some Pink Pirouette ink with a sponge to add some definition.

What is your favourite stamp or die from the bundle?

Have you seen this months Stamp of the Month Club? This month grab your copy of the Thoughtful Branches Bundle via my online store, and I will send you a 3 exclusive video tutorials and a card kit to make 6 cards! Yay!

However the Very Vanilla layer is also popped up on Dimensionals!

Floral Phrases Home Decor Frame

Home Decor Frame using Floral Phrases from Stampin' Up! Uk and an IKEA frame

I’m always looking for ways to get creative. I love card making, but I do indulge my crafty passion in other hobbies too (when I get the chance!), I’m currently working on my Wedding Scrapbook, I have a stash of half-finished crochet projects and I love a spot of painting too. So, when James and I recently took a trip to IKEA on the hunt for a new bed, I couldn’t help but stop in the section of the shop where they have all the frames and candles, material and other fabulous home-y bits and bobs. I love this bit of IKEA, there is always a bargain and it can all be modified in some way shape or form to create something fabulous!

Home Decor Frame using Floral Phrases from Stampin' Up! Uk and an IKEA frame

This frame cost me the grand total of £1, and it even comes in a variety of bright colours as well as this off white. I will admit that it did sit in my heap of crafty stuff (which includes candles, sweeties and an assortment of other odd bits and bobs) for a few weeks before this creation was born.

Bermuda Bay is one of my favourite Stampin’ Up! colours, its just so bright and fun, but I really wanted to make something classy with it. Die cut using the Detailed Floral Thinlits it is so pretty. Sticking down these detailed die cuts can be really tricky, but using the Fine-Tipped Glue Pen it is super simpe, I add a thin line of glue to the outside edges of the die cut, and add spots to the thicker parts to, easy!

Frame using Floral Phrases and Butterflies from Stampin' Up! UKThe bottom left hand corner has a flower of Pool Party inlaid into the Bermuda Bay Detailed Floral die cut. The piece is completed with a double butterfly die cut from Bermuda Bay and Pool Party, a sentiment taken from the Floral Phrases stamp set and a few Pearls!

This piece currently sits in my office, on a shelf above my PC, but I think it might need to find a more permenent home soon.

Stamping on Designer Series Paper!

Quick and Simple Thank You card using thoughtful thanks from Stampin' Up! UK

I am always looking for ways to get more use from the products I buy, ways you can stretch your stash, ways to get creative without buying heaps of stuff! I love crafting (and shopping), and I am lucky enough to have half a room dedicated to my hobby (and business) but its very small and I am quickly running out of room! So, time to get creative with what I own rather than buying more (even though I would love to shop!)

Quick and Simple Thank You card using thoughtful thanks from Stampin' Up! UK

Last month I had the Fruit Stand pack of Designer Series paper out on my desk almost all month, and this piece of paper really called to me to be used simply on a card! trimmed slightly smaller than my card front and simply stamped with the sentiment from Thankful Thoughts I almost called this one done…

Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper Card from Stampin' Up! UK

but it just needed an extra something, and some splatter of Flirty Flamingo and Gold Wink of Stella finished this one off! I love this card so much that my customers will be finding a variation of this in the post over the next week or so!

Thanks for checking out my blog today, and I’ll see you again tomorrow for something that’s not a card!

A Special Note of Thanks To You!

Rose Wonder thank you card using Floral Phrases from Stampin' Up! UK

This is a special card today, I am totally inspired each and every month by the fabulous creations of the Artisan Design Team – these lovely ladies are specially picked by Stampin’ Up! and create wonderful projects each and every month. I am always so inspired by them all and just felt like sharing my homage to the ADT for this year.

A special thank you card featuring floral phrases and Rose Wonder from Stampin' Up! UK

Part of the creative process is always about change and development, and I am sure that we all look back on the first cards we created with utter horror, I absolutely do! I have spent many hours, days, weeks and months developing my style, and I am hoping that it continues to develop and change. I just love the process of creating something, don’t you, even if I am not always all that sure about the outcome – I still post the cards I’m not sure about, and they are usally the cards that you guys like, comment and pin most! isn’t it strange!

Anyway, I am in a rambly mood today, who know’s what tangent I will go off on for your blog post on Thursday!

Floral Phrases Rose Wonder from Stampin' Up! ukThis card has a card base of Sahara Sand, with a layer of Flirty Flamingo and then Whisper White. There are a few stamp sets in play here, there are some splatter in the background in Flirty Flamingo using Gorgeous Grunge, while the sentiment is taken from Floral Phrases.

The leave die cut is in  Pear Pizzazz and is from the Rose Garden thinlits set.

What do you think of this creation? I would love to know your thoughts, leave a comment down below and don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and weekly emails using the buttons on the right! (or at the bottom if you are reading this on a mobile device!)

A Fruity Thank you….

Simple Thank You card featuring Fresh Fruit from Stampin' Up! UK

Hey folks, sorry for the lack of a Make It Monday this week, but the last few weeks have been totally crazy here! For a bit of back story, I’m a nurse, but I have recently changed jobs (for the 4th time in 7 months) and am now in a management role (which I am absolutely LOVING!) but I’m working some crazy long shifts over the summer and its not leaving me a whole heap of time for you guys – so August might be a quiet affair around here; however, I’m not going anywhere, my shop is open 24/7 as always and I am always here to answer any questions you may have, just understand it might take me a couple of hours to get back to you. Right, thats enough of that, lets get on with a card shall we?!

Fresh Fruit Thank you card using Stampin' Up! UK products

This card is super simple to put together, even though it looks complex. The card base is in Peekaboo Peach, and is stamped in Peekaboo Peach on the corners. I’m loving this Designer Series Paper too, very fresh and summery, those apples are so cute!

Simple Thank You card featuring Fresh Fruit from Stampin' Up! UK

I’ve been playing with masking again on this card, I stamped the Thank You first, and then stamped the fruits over the top in Watermelon Wonder, Pear Pizzazz, and Peekaboo Peach with Smoky Slate outlines and dots.

My Online Card Class using this stamp set closes at 9PM tonight! I am so excited about getting this one out to you lovely people, my plan is to get it out to you over the weekend, so hopefully by this time next week you’ll be making fabulous cards like this one!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge | July 2016

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge featuring Crazy About You Gorgeous Grunge Bunch of Blossoms From Stampin' Up! UK

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Hello! Welcome to another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! This sketch has been sat on my desk for a couple of weeks, but only in the last few days have I actually managed to create something! I love sketches like that, really thinkers, thanks Louise!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Sketch July 2016

I have to admit that I have moved things around a bit on this one, but the sketch was definitely my ‘jumping off point!’

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge featuring Crazy About You Gorgeous Grunge Bunch of Blossoms From Stampin' Up! UK

This week I received one of the new Ombre Ink Pads from my gorgeous team leader, and this weeks sketch challenge just seemed like the perfect opportunity to use it! The flower is taken from Crazy About You and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry Ombre – there are a couple of important things to remember when using the new Ombre pads

  • Larger, and more solid images work best
  • take the stamp to the pad to ink it up, gently tap the stamp to the pad repeatily in a circle pattern to ensure that you don’t end up with a stripy image. There is a great video on the Stampin’ Up! YouTube channel that I will post to my Facebook page later on.
  • There are 3 great colours available; Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge July 2016 Featuring Crazy about you from Stampin' Up!The horizontal and vertical elements of the sketch were the trickiest bit for me, but I never need an excuse to grab Gorgeous Grunge off the shelf!

The leaves are taken from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set. Stamped in Cucumber Crush onto Cucumber Crush Card stock and fussy cut. The card is finished with the sentiment heat embossed in Copper and some loops of the Copper Metallic Thread.

Stamping Christmas in July

I haven’t featured any special techniques this week, and I couldn’t end this series without a special something. You guys know how much I love watercolour and stamping, and this card incorporates both.

Christmas In July Featuring Watercolour Peace This Christmas from Stampin' Up! Uk

I have shared this technique before, inking up a Clear Block and adding water before stamping onto Shimmery White card stock. You can check out the video tutorial here too:
