This week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a classic colour combination challenge. I had heaps of fun with this one as it’s totally in my comfort zone and plays really well into my love of white space…
With such a classic colour combination I decided to pull out a classic stamp set as well. I adore the Floral Phrases stamp set, but I haven’t used it for ages!
Using just Memento Black ink and my Stamparatus to ensure perfect positioning this card came together in a snap. This stamp is really clever as it looks like there are different shades of colour, but really it’s just inked and stamped once!
To add a little extra something I added a trio of Basic Black Faceted Dots.

Oh! We have waited a long time for today’s post, and the launch of Storage by Stampin’ Up!
Last year Stampin’ Up! changed the design of their ink pads (which are now even more awesome by the way!) and retired their previous storage system. The new ink pads are fabulous, and stack on top of each other neatly, but that’s not all that helpful when you want the ink pad at the bottom of the pile! However, today sees the launch of the brand new Storage by Stampin’ Up! system; a full customisible, stackable, storage solution for your new style Stampin’ Up! ink pads, re-inkers, markers, Blends, ribbons and more!
The system is modular, meaning that you can collect pieces as your ink pad collection grows. Each piece is bought separately, so you’re not going to end up with a load of bits that you don’t need! My plan is to grab the Blends trays first, as this is a current storage nightmare in my craft room… and then add some ink pad racks as I go along.
Want to see all the pieces, check out this handy PDF download, and choose your pieces!

So, today I thought I would share my final Sale-a-bration make of 2019… and James’ birthday card!
Home to Roost is available for FREE when you spend £45 before Sunday night! I cannot believe that Sale-a-bration is so nearly over… however, that does mean that we are closer to the start of the new Annual Catalogue and something very exciting that launches on Monday!
My top tip for guys cards is to keep things fairly simple. Here I stamped the Rooster onto Watercolour paper using Staz-on. I did use my Stamparatus for this to ensure a really deep, crisp, black image onto the bumpy paper.
Then, to add some texture I added some dots of Fine Tip Glue and let it dry really really well before watercolouring the piece in Crushed Curry, Blueberry Bushel and Real Red inks.
The other texture on the card is the embossed front using the hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder, and then adding the watercoloured panel with dimentionals to a piece of Crushed Curry Card stock.
I couldn’t not decorate the inside of this card (James always requests something special on the inside when I’m making a card for him to send!) and so I added some stamping and a strip of Crushed Curry card stock to finish.

Hello! Can you believe we are almost at the end of Sale-a-bration 2019… in fact we only have another few days as the fabulous offers end on Sunday night!
To see what Sale-a-bration is all about check my earlier blog post HERE!
Today’s card is a card I made a few weeks ago for one of my Sister-in-Law’s birthdays. I needed something a little bit special, because with my current Baby Brain actually getting around to buying her a present didn’t happen (she did get a gift card though so she can treat herself to something), and so I reached for the very lovely Painted Seasons stamp set, Designer Series Paper and coordinating dies.
I have been loving using these stamps and the Designer Series Paper which you can get as a bundle for FREE with a £90 order, and then the dies that match are just a must have!
This is a really easy Fancy fold card to put together. You can find all the measurements on THIS blog post from a couple of years ago.
Then on the inside I made a little Designer Series Paper pocket to hold the gift card, simply by measuring the gift card and chopping a bit off the top. I did use a 2″ circle punch to notch the top of the pocket and make retrieving the gift a little easier too!
There isn’t a whole heap of stamping on this one really, as the paper says everything! But I did add a few succulents in coordinating Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party along with the Berry Burst Sentiment taken from Needle and Thread.

You wouldn’t think I set these challenges… because this week had me totally stumped! Inspire.Create.Challenge 039 is a theme challenge, and the theme is pets!
Now, I do have a pet, the very lovely Freda the Cat, and if I had been super organised I would have made a fabulous scrapbook page, or a frame with her in, or something. However, as I mentioned on Monday, this past few weeks have left me a more than a little behind. So, I managed find the time and energy to make this project on Sunday… so reaching for the nearest stamp set featuring an animal!
So, Bike Ride it is! This stamp set is so sweet, with that cute dog. The bike is stamped in Poppy Parade and Memento Black, while the dog is actually Crushed Curry and Blueberry Bushel! I just love 2-step stamping and this stamp set is perfect for this fun technique. The dog in particular is stamped using 3 separate stamps, they line up really easily, and it creates this really lovely multi-coloured stamped image too.
The background is an embossed piece of Vellum. I have fallen back in love with dry embossing thanks to the very lovely Country Floral Dynamic Embossing Folder which is currently FREE with a £45 order during Sale-a-bration AND has been confirmed as being carried forward into next years Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.
The sentiment is actually taken from a Christmas stamp set, Merry Christmas to All, stamped in Memento Black ink to match the bike!

I have a few update for you today, and a couple of fun projects for you later in the week! This past week I didn’t post either here or over on my Facebook or Instagram pages, this is the first time I have missed a full week in ages, but there are a couple of reasons:
I am 33 weeks pregnant (today!) and this past week I’ve just been exhausted.
Last weekend, James and I took a lovely trip up to Newcastle to see Saturday Night Fever (which was AWESOME!) but it meant that I didn’t get any crafting time, this combined with the fact that I completely forgot about this trip earlier in the month when I was planning means that I had no content last week!
I’m starting to slow down a little in preparation for our little arrival. I have 4 weeks of my day job left, and so that is my current priority, although I am still crafting when I can, and like I said I have 2 fun projects for you later in the week!
So, you can expect to still see inspiration and ideas from me, but not at my usual rate! I’m also a little behind on my Thank You cards and gifts too… but I WILL catch up before baby arrives!
Stock Updates…
I also wanted to let you know about a couple of stock updates.
Sale-a-bration Coordination…
We started the month with some fabulous die sets, a punch and stamp set that coordinate with the current Sale-a-bration offerings. However, they are While Stocks Last and already 2 have completely SOLD OUT! These are the dies that coordinate with the So Hoppy Together and Hello Cupcake stamp sets…
Stampin’ Up! have also given up advanced notice that there are a few sets of dies that are unlikely last the full length of the Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer Catalogue. Which means that the following sets are While Stocks Last…
Also, the Bunny Builder Punch is also approaching Sell Out!
This is a bit of an advanced warning, but as we approach the end of the current Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue in May we are also approaching that time of year where we have to say Goodbye to 5 of the In-Colours.
In-Colours are 5 in style colours that are added to the Stampin’ Up! colour palette each year, and last for 2 years. So the colours that are due to retire in May are:
Fresh Fig
Berry Burst
Powder Pink
Tranquil Tide
Lemon Lime Twist
This means that items using these colours are currently in quite high demand, particularly ink re-fills and card stock. These items usually sell out VERY quickly once the Retiring list is announced, So, if you want any of the items that use these colours grab them sooner rather than later!
There are only 2 weeks left of Sale-a-bration! That’s just 2 weeks left to earn your fabulous free goodies when you spend £45, or to get that gorgeous Craft and Carry Tote bag in your Starter Kit!

I needed a manly birthday card this week for my Brother. He is a nightmare when it comes to birthdays (or any other present buying occasion!) and often asks for things like socks! So this year, he got socks… because my brain does not have the energy or the space to think of something else! Nor does it have the time to design a fabulous card for him… I know it’s bad, but really when it comes to guys cards, I’m of the opinion that simple is better anyway.
Sam is really into music, so using the Sheet Music background stamp is always a pretty safe jumping off point for his card. However, I apparently didn’t clean it very well they last time I used it, because my Crumb Cake image has patches of red! However, I really quite like the look… so I rolled with it!
I try to make a big thing of the sentiment on guys birthday cards, particularly when they are simple like this one. One of my favourite sentiment stamp sets at the moment is Itty Bitty Birthdays; it has a selection of great sentiments for Birthdays and celebrations, and I particularly like this bold Happy Birthday. Here it’s stamped in Early Espresso and punched using the Classic Label Punch.
To add a little something to the sentiment I also added Classic Labels in Pacific Point and Call Me Clover to finish the card.

I have been LOVING the Needlepoint Nook suite this month… and I have even more inspiration to share with you later in the month as my Monthly Card Class features this pretty suite too!
This card uses just about every one of my favourite elements of this suite… that super pretty swirly stitched stamp, the sentiment font, those lovely faux stitched stamped flowers… and don’t get me started on how GORGEOUS the Designer Series paper is!
Booking for my Needlepoint Nook Card Class closes on Monday! Places are still available for both In Person and Online options… Book today!

This week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a fun sketch. I really love designing these, and like to keep things really simple so that you can let your imagination go wild on creating something really special.
One of the things I really like to do with a sketch is take all the elements and move them around! I know, it’s a bit naughty, but really a treat a sketch like a sort of jumping off point, rather than sticking to the design religiously. So this week, I turned the sketch around and make a landscape card, rather than the portrait one in the sketch!
This card is really quite subtle, and has lots of white space… two of my favourite card making styles!
The Rectangle Stitched Framelits have become a permanent feature on my craft desk, and so they found their way onto this card too to die cut a pretty piece of Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper.
The main focus of this card is that Stitched Circle, with the sentiment from Needle and Thread and some second generation stamping in Mint Macaron.
And that really is all that there is to this card. Clean and Simple!
If you love this card as much as I do, my March Card Class also uses the Needlepoint Nook suite. This month is the last time that my classes will be available both In Person and Online for a couple of months while I take some time out of In Person events to have a baby… so if you’re local, I would LOVE to see you!

I have finally reached that point in my life when all my friends from university and school are having babies! I know that I’m in amongst them too, but I don’t generally make cards for myself, I do however always send a gift and a hand made card to welcome their new arrival.
One of my university girls had a beautiful baby boy in mid-February, and although I made the card the day she told us he had arrived I didn’t get around to buying the gift until last weekend! So, this is going out a little later than I would have hoped. However, I always buy baby clothes and generally size WAY up (like 6-9 months!) so I know that this isn’t going to be wasted!
At this point I have to admit that I really don’t own that many baby / children’s stamp sets (I know that this is going to change!) and so reached for a stamp set with some really cute images instead. Hey Love is really a Valentines set, but I think it totally works for baby cards too! (or birthdays, or just because!)
I stamped the Otter in Memento Black ink and used Smoky Slate Blends to colour him in, with a hint of Flirty Flamingo for that heart.
The sentiment is from Animal Outings, which Stampin’ Up! doesn’t list as a Baby set, but it does have this perfect Welcome Little One Sentiment.
I thought the card was a little plain, so used the Basket Weave embossing folder to add some texture and finished the card with a cute bow of Whisper White Bakers Twine.
What’s your go to set for baby / children’s cards? I would LOVE to know in the comments box below…
