Sorry this post is up a little later than usual (you can blame my UPS man!) but I was waiting on my order of shiny new things from the new Stampin’ Up! 2014-2015 catalogue
As usual all the new items in the Stampin’ Up! catalogue are gorgeous (and I want them all!) but I had to make a selection and so these are my picks for the next couple of months!
Stampin’ Up! make the most awesome punches, and the small punch packs are always popular, this new offering is no exception! The Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack coordinates with the Something to Say Stamp Set. The stamped images (a heart, a star, and the flower) fit well in the punches and help you create your own custom embellishments, quickly! I love them!
But I think the most exciting thing for me are the new Designer Series Papers! I ordered two this time: Flashback and Sweet Taffy. As usual the papers use Stampin’ Up! colour collections and In Colours, coordinating with all the cardstock, inks and embellishments already in your stash!
Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Real Red, Smokey Slate, Very Vanilla
Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Of course I have a video with all this gorgeousness in as well!
and then you can purchase all these items from my shop – by clicking the pretty boxes below!

Each month, hopefully the first Saturday / Sunday of each month, I will be posting a look at my Project Life.
If you havent checked out the latest Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products you really should (links at the end of this post). Stampin’ Up have now released a number of Project Life kits, Everyday Adventure and Happiness Is (both great for everyday events and regular Project Life-ing), Little Moments (for baby), and Playground (awesome for all those photos of the kids! Then, later this month; Love Story, which is definitely on my wish list, designed for love, engagements, weddings and related events! Each kit has an associated accessory pack, and there are blank grid cards, pens, pocket pages, binders, framelits dies, stamps and a corner rounder punch available.
As I have previously mentioned (HERE), I love this method of ‘quick’ scrapbooking. So much so that I already have one of the larger Becky Higgins Project Life Kits, and the Wedding mini-kit (see a theme here!) and I will be using this system for my wedding album, more on that in next months Project Life by Stampin Up! post!
So, on with June. June was a little busy round here; I work 3 or 4 days a week, becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Blogging and YouTube, meeting friends, wedding planning, and trying to have 30 seconds to myself; I only filled 2 page protector. But thats ok, one of the great things about this system for scrapbooking is the versatility; what do you want to document? Is it the daily events in your life, a big event (such as a wedding, or the birth of a child), a family holiday, or getting all those family photos into an album other people can look at. For me, I’m planning on documenting our daily lives; as well as the planning and countdown to our wedding next year. I’m hoping to have at least one page per month, any more than that is a bonus! I have a couple of tools to help me: a good diary, and two iPhone apps remindingme to take some pictures!
Last month I only used one, Collect (From Free), an app which describes itself as a everyday photo diary. This month I’m continuing to use Collect, but I am also using the Little Moments app by Fat Mum Slim (£1.49), this app not only gives you a great range of photo embellishment and editing tools, but also links to the #FMSphotoaday prompts.
The pages themselves came together very quickly. I print my photos at home, one my regular printer, so trimming my photos takes a little while, buts worth it in the end. Once you have your photos, and have a page protector selected, its a simple task of laying out your photos and matching them to a card. Then is the fun bit, adding journalling and embellishments. Stampin’ Up! make this even easier by giving you the option of purchasing the co-coordinating accessory pack, as well as using Stampin’ Up Colours – so you can customise embellishments with your Inks, Stampin-Write markers, Blendabilities, and cardstock!
Like I said, this months pages are quite simple; I know I could have embellished a lot more, but really I just needed to get my memories out of my head and onto the page, and that took enough time this month!

I recently wrote a post about the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach (See it HERE!) I love it, I think its an awesome tool (and Yes! you definitely need one!), but there was something missing! I’ve customised mine to meet my needs, and I thought I’d give you a peak!
I like the screw fastener the Color Coach comes with, but I like a bit more flexibility (I move the swatches around a lot and I like to be able to have one on its own, which I found a little awkward with the screw), So, I swapped it out for a O ring (most likely found at my local craft-type store, maybe in a mini-album kit, but believe me its been floating around my craft room for a good while!).
I also like to be able to see at a glance which inks I currently own (no, I don’t have them all yet! one day soon hopefully!), and what a tone on tone looks like. So, I stamped the same colour of ink on the card (Eg: Melon Mambo Swatch, stamped on with Melon Mambo ink) using the Everything Eleanor Swirlly stamp.
Now I can move the swatches around much more easily and see which colours I have (and which ones I need to get next!)

So, It new catalogue launches on the 1st July 2014 (Tuesday! So. Very. Excited!) As a demonstrator I get the chance to get some products a little early (if you also want this chance click here!) so I’ve had the new In Colours for a couple of weeks, they are so beautiful. I have a video coming next week looking at the ink colours themselves, but I thought I give you a little sneaky peak at a couple of the colours (as well as a lovely stamp set).
This card also showcases the Second Generation stamping technique (more on that soon!), and also features a few of the basic jewels, but that’s all I can tell you for now! Check back on Tuesday for more from the new catalogue as well as some more awesome cards and videos!

So this card took me ages! and there is still something I’m not happy about, but its made now (and photographed, and now blogged) so it is what it is.
I am currently totally in love with Everything Eleanor, the swirl, the flowers, that fabulous journalling spot / ornate circle. So I wanted to create a multi-layered card with a number of the stamps from the set.The card itself is a 5×5 inch square card. The swirl is stamped first, and in Smokey Slate, and I layered the frame over it in Daffodil Delight. The ornate circle, stamped on Whisper White in Temptin Turquoise, actually coordinated with the 2 1/2″ circle punch, but I preferred to fussy cut it.
The sentiment Wish Big, is another from A Dozen Thoughts. The get the two tone effect I used Stampin’ Write Markers to colour each word individually. Its then punched out using the 1″ circle punch, and backed by the 1 1/4″ scallop circle punched from Daffodil Delight cardstock. The 3 basic jewels were then added, before the card was assembled.
I really like the colour combination, and keep returning to it. Are there any colour combinations you use again and again?

Stampin’ Up! Inkpads are all very special. The Formulation of the ink is like no other. Its great for line stamping (so for sentiments and images with lots of open space) and for more solid stamping (those stamps that have no open space at all). As Stampin’ Up! ink dries the image ‘flattens’ out so that image you stamped that looked a little blotchy is sudden as smooth the cardstock underneath.
Also all the ink pads have refils available, so you only ever have to buy the inkpad once! and they coordinate with our Stampin’ Write Markers, Blendabilities (Coming soon!), cardstock, designer series papers, Project Life cards, and many embellishments! This means that not only can you stamp great images, but you can fully coordinate your projects!
The thing is however, that the design of the inkpads themselves mean that when they are stacked, or put into a storage system (such as THIS ONE!) you cant see which colour is which! Stampin’ Up! have carefully negotiated this issue by supplying stickers with each pad. Take your shiny new ink pad out of the cellophane and turn it over! There you will find, attached to the bottom of the pad, 4 stickers, stating the colour of the inkpad (one in each of our four main languages; English, Spanish, French, and German). Peel the sticker sheet off of the bottom of the pad, and the select the correct sticker for you! Then is the tricky bit, getting the sticker on the inkpad!
I have found the easiest way to do this is quickly! Hold the sticker at both ends, the inkpad will balance on one end for long enough for you to line up the sticker, making sure its only on the lid of the pad (not across the lid and the base – you’ll never get into the ink!) and press it down firmly.
Now your inkpad is labelled with the colour on the front edge, making for much easier identification!
