World Card Making Day 2014 – Thankful of Papillon!

Almost halfway through our 12 cards for World Card Making Day 2014 – this is card number 6!

thankful for papillon

This card uses a number of the stamps from Papillon Potpourri – a lovely collection of butterfly stamps – which coordinate beautifully with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches.

This card uses Rose red, Garden Green, and Wisteria Wonder, to stamp a flock (maybe?!) of butterflies. and then the Large flying butterfly has been punched with that Elegant Butterfly punch!

lovely!

World Card Making Day 2014 – Blackberry Lace

This is the 5th card I’ve made for World Card Making Day 2014!

Stampin' Up! UK Blackberry Bliss Lovely Lace

Once again I’ve used the Lovely Lace embossing folder – this time on Vellum (man, I LOVE vellum! think its probably to do with making a whole heap of Wedding Invitations with it!)

This card is on Blackberry Bliss cardstock, and I’ve used Blackberry Bliss to stamp the sentiment from the I Like You Hostess Stamp Set! The butterfly is the Elegant Butterfly punch, this time with some Pearls added

Have you noticed the theme yet? each of my cards for this World Card Making Day is a thank you card! Order Stampin’ Up! products through me, and one of these cards could be on its way to you!

World Card Making Day 2014 – Punched Papillon

Welcome to the 4th card I’ve made for World Card Making Day 2014!

Stampin' Up! UK Papillon Potpourri Label punch

I recent got the Elegant Butterfly punch (Yes, once again I’m late to the party!). One of the first things I do when I get new product is check out what other people have done with it, generally on Pinterest! This card is inspired by THIS one by Julie Davison.

I used the Elegant Butterfly Punch, and the Decorative Label out of Whisper White cardstock, and layered the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack behind. The card base is So Saffron, and the DSP is in So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, and Pool Party!

I love this card, its super cute! as as per usual my photos dont do it justice! more practice needed I’m sure!

Love the DSP! check out our latest Stampin’ Up! Joining offer – get a Pack of Paper every month of 6 months!

World Card Making Day 2014 – I Like Navy!

This is the 3rd post in my series of World Card Making Day posts!

Stampin' Up! UK I Like You Night of Navy Blender

I LOVE this card! It uses that lovely Hostess Stamp Set – I Like You. Stamped around the sentiment, in Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Night of Navy. Then, the Night of Navy flowers have added colour using ink pads and the Stampin’ Up! Blender Pens – a great way to add little touches of colour to a stamped image.

I hope you are enjoying World Card Making Day – check out the products I’ve used to make this card HERE!

World Card Making Day 2014 – Island Lace

Time for card number 2! Now, I dont really know what happened when I photographed this card, because in real life its Island Indigo cardstock, which is a beautiful deep teal colour!
Stampin' Up! UK Island Indigo Lovely Lace

This is another really simple card, using the gorgeous Lovely Lace embossing folder. I love this easy technique, embossing the first of your card base. Fold your card as usual, then insert the front into the embossing folder, so the front is inside and the back is outside the folder. Then run it through you Big Shot machine. I’ve then highlighted each lace doily with a pearl in the centre, and the sentiment on a banner!

I do love a simple card!

World Card Making Day 2014

Happy World Card-making Day 2014!!!!!!

I’m super excited to share 12 projects with you today!

The 12 cards are made from a kit of products put together especially for this event! As Stampin’ Up! are currently running an amazing Joining Deal – Pick a Pack of Paper – where you earn a pack of DSP each month for the 6 months after you join. I thought I would select £130 worth of product that you could choose as part of your Starter Kit. I have made 12 cards, each one different, and I have loads of cardstock left over, plus inks, adhesives, and DSP. For more information on Pick a Pack of Paper, and joining my team, Contact me HERE!

So the first of my cards is a super simple one layer card, using just half a sheet of A4, White Craft Ink, and a stamp! Stampin' Up! UK Night of Navy I Like You Craft WhiteNow, I will admit that I made a little mistake when selecting my stamps – the stamp set I’ve used for the sentiments and flowers is a Hostess set. You are unable to put this stamp ‘I Like You’ into your Starter Kit, BUT you can get this set with your Hostess credits if you spend more than £150 in my Stampin’ Up! Store!

Fancy Fold Friday – Easel Card

HELLO!

Welcome to fancy fold friday!

Once again, trying something new here! I have a few of these posts lined up over the next few weeks, looking at card folds that make your cards stand out from the other cards on the mantel piece. I thought we’d start simple – a easel card

Stampin' Up UK Wisteria Wonder Bouquet Toss Thank You card

Easel cards are super simple to create. This card base (in Wisteria Wonder) is cut to 8 1/4 by 5 1/2 (about half an A4). The card is scored at 2 1/4 and 4 1/8th, creating a triangle of cardstock. Another piece of cardstock (this time in Very Vanilla) is attached to one of the short sides of the triangle to create a taller card. The stamp set used here is Bouquet Toss – a set that, although designed for weddings (and that ties into the Always and Forever wedding stationary templates in MDS), is a lovely feminine stamp set for Thank You cards, Birthdays, and Congratulations cards. The small flowers (although fussy cut here) work wonderfully with the 1/2″ circle punch, to create ‘pegs’ to hold the card up when displayed.

I’m really loving simple colour combinations at the moment, and have found myself making a lot of cards with only two or maybe three colours!

Can’t wait to see you again next week!

How To: make your own desk bin!

What is the most annoying thing about craft? all those little bits of paper; the backs of dimentionals, the red carrier tape of sticky strip, little bits of off cuts… and they all float around your desk, making a mess, and getting in the way!

That is until now!

Make your own desk bin, from an old jar, but… please make it pretty!

How to make a desk bin

I used an old jar (think it was lemon curd if your that curious!). First, measure around your jar. use this measurement to measure a length of DSP, but add an inch to give an overlap. The best way I have found of attaching your DSP is with sticky strip – I didnt take the label off my jar, instead it make it easier to line up your DSP to ensure its straight around your bin. Then, add some ribbon (measured in the same way) also with sticky strip. I had to add some more bling! before it looked finished – the sentiment is a stamp from Remember This (one of the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! sets), stamped in Pool Party (to match the DSP), and then I’ve added hearts using the Sweetheart and Itty Bitty Accents punches, and some jewels I had laying around!

Its so damn cute, and a great addition to any craft desk

Back to Basics Zoo Babies

Seeing as we are now right at the end of September, it time to say goodbye to our Product of the Month (yes, their will be another in October!) but before we do, I thought I would grab it again for one final project!

Stampin' Up! UK Zoo Babies Back to Basics AlphabetHow cute is this card! I used that Back to Basics Alphabet to create a background – almost like a word search, for the front of the card.

The card base is in Marina Mist (LOVE! – it only arrived on friday, I think its a new favourite!), with the word search layer in Soft sky, and inked in Soft Sky ink. Then I’ve used; Calypso Coral, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron to stamp the Zoo Babies animals, and the sentiment.

super cute, and a great way to end our Product of the Month for September. Back to Basics is still available through to June of 2015 (at least, let hope its even longer! I love the font.), grab it now by clicking the links through to my webshop

Check back soon for the reveal of our Product of the Month for October!
