I’m So Grateful For You!

Fun Watercoloured Thank You card using Fine Tip Glue Technique and Remarkable You from Stampin' Up!

Today’s card features a fun technique that I have been sharing quite a bit recently… masking with Fine-Tip glue. I showcased this one at a recent Team Training event, and so have a fair few cards coming over the coming month or so that all have some masking. I do have a video sharing this technique over on my YouTube channel too…

I am in love with Tranquil Tide, and thought it was the perfect colour for this leave-y card. The leaves are taken from Remarkable You, and are stamped in Archival Basic Black onto Watercolour paper. Once the ink was dry, I covered the leaves in Fine-Tip Glue and allowed this to dry overnight.

Then the next day I added a watercolour wash over the top in Tranquil Tide ink. The leaves covered in the glue remain white as the glue acts as a mask.

The sentiment is stamped in the same Tranquil Tide and punched out using the Everyday Label punch.This punch is just awesome, and a great addition to your punch collection. I punched a further label in black to create the layer behind.

Pootlers Design Team | I am so grateful

Pootles Papercraft Design Team Watercolour floral Thank You card using Remarkable You from Stampin' Up!

Well, before I get into today’s card I just want to say Thanks; Thanks to my lovely friend Sam for choosing me as part of the Design Team this month and for sending me this fabulous stamp set to play with! Thanks to everyone who has popped over to my little corner of the internet during June, and Thanks to everyone who has commented, emailed, or shopped with me this month. Seriously, Thank you!

This fabulously watercoloured card was the final card I made during my epic card making session for the Design Team, and I LOVE it! The flower was stamped first onto watercolour paper, and then again onto a piece of sticky note that I then used as a mask, before stamping the leaves. The colours here are Fresh Fig, Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party.

The partial fussy cutting was easy… seriously these stamps look like they are going to take ages to fussy cut, but really they are simple shapes and are less complex to cut out than they look. Once I had cut part of the way around the flower, I got out my trimmer to cut a straight edge to complete the partial fussy cut. Then I completed the watercolour by watercolouring the background in Soft Sky, leaving the leaves white.

The background is a simple tone on tone stamped affair, with a trio of jewels to finish.

Pootlers Design Team | One Layer Card

Pootles Papercraft Design Team Remarkable You One Layer Ink Blended Just Because Card using Stampin' Up! products

Week 3 of the Pootler’s Design Team for June… this month we are using the gorgeous Remarkable You. My card this week is a simple one…. actually it’s so simple, its just one layer!

I love a bit of ink blending… give me an ink pad, a sponge and a scrap of card stock and I can keep myself entertained for hours! The circle is created using a mask – I die cut the largest of the layering circle framelits from a piece of copier paper, and ink blend through the circle. I love the crisp edges this creates, but you do have to be careful that your card and/or mask don’t move (this is where my shares in Washi Tape pay off!)

The colours on this card are Pool Party, So Saffron and Lemon Lime Twist… and then the stamping is in Basic Gray.

Pootlers Design Team | You Are Remarkable

Pootles Papercraft Design Team June 2017 Floral Just Because Card using Remarkable You from Stampin' Up!

Week 2 of the fabulous June Pootler’s Design Team, this month we are making projects using the fabulous Remarkable You stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

As I said last week, this stamp set just sings ‘Watercolour’ to me, and so I couldn’t not make a card that watercoloured the images (Ok, almost all my projects use watercolour!)

I struggled with this card, which is one of the reasons it has no sentiment – I love it, and had to stop where I did or it was in grave danger of being that card that has everything in my craft room thrown at it!

I love the ‘hint’ of Dapper Denim on one of the layers, and that flower was surprisingly easy to fussy cut too.

Measurements:

Card Base – Dapper Denim – Half a sheet of A4, scored at 14.8cm

Whisper White – 10 x 14.3 cm

Basic Grey – 6.7 x 10.9 cm

Whisper White – 6.4 x 10.6 cm

Pootlers Design Team | Remarkable You

Pootles Papercraft Design Team Just Because Card using Remarkable You from Stampin' Up!

Oh my goodness, I am so honoured to be chosen as one of the Pootler’s Design Team for June! The lovely Sam asks the team each month to volunteer to be a part of the Design Team, I will often put my name forward… but this month I had completely forgotten about it. So, a few weeks ago I get home from work to find a (rather large) envelope, I spotted Sam’s details on the front and found this great stamp set…. and then got really confused as to why I was being sent stamps!

This stamp set just sings ‘Watercolour’ but for my first card I didn’t want to watercolour the image… but the watercolour idea got stuck in my head, and turned into this watercolour / Ink-Smooshing number!

The bottom right hand colour is coloured in two colours of ink; Tranquil Tide and Emerald Envy. Ink-Smooshing is so simple, and great for those who love a bit of watercolour but don’t like the mess! I generally use my largest clear block as a sort of palate, I add water to the ink and then pick the ink/water mixture up using a piece of Window Sheet (or the backing from some stamps!). This window sheet becomes a sort of paint brush with which you apply the ink to the paper. I applied Tranquil Tide first, and dried it with my heat tool before adding a layer of Emerald Envy.

The card is completed with the leaves stamped a couple of times in Basic Black, and the sentiment from Remarkable You, and then a trio of Enamel Shapes in Rose Red for a pop of pink!
