Fancy Fold Friday – Easel Card

HELLO!

Welcome to fancy fold friday!

Once again, trying something new here! I have a few of these posts lined up over the next few weeks, looking at card folds that make your cards stand out from the other cards on the mantel piece. I thought we’d start simple – a easel card

Stampin' Up UK Wisteria Wonder Bouquet Toss Thank You card

Easel cards are super simple to create. This card base (in Wisteria Wonder) is cut to 8 1/4 by 5 1/2 (about half an A4). The card is scored at 2 1/4 and 4 1/8th, creating a triangle of cardstock. Another piece of cardstock (this time in Very Vanilla) is attached to one of the short sides of the triangle to create a taller card. The stamp set used here is Bouquet Toss – a set that, although designed for weddings (and that ties into the Always and Forever wedding stationary templates in MDS), is a lovely feminine stamp set for Thank You cards, Birthdays, and Congratulations cards. The small flowers (although fussy cut here) work wonderfully with the 1/2″ circle punch, to create ‘pegs’ to hold the card up when displayed.

I’m really loving simple colour combinations at the moment, and have found myself making a lot of cards with only two or maybe three colours!

Can’t wait to see you again next week!

Bravo! for a super simple sunday!

Just a quick card for you today, using Melon Mambo (and not much else actually!)]

Stampin Up Melon Mambo Flower Shop Petie Petals

This card uses the Sweet Taffy DSP, in that gorgeous Melon Mambo – the brightest of bright pinks! to create this cute card. All the inking is done in Melon Mambo, using the Flower Shop and Petite Petals for the flowers, and A Dozen Thoughts for the sentiment! Its a super simple and quick card, great for a little girls birthday or when your a little short on time! The Flowers are stamped and then punched using the coordinating punches to create that professional look, and the sentiment is punched using the modern label punch. Easy!

10 ways to use a flower punch

There are so many ways to use a simple flower punch (for more than just making flowers too)

1. Use the punch with the coordinating stamp set, the Stampin Up! Pansy Punch and Flower Shop Stamp set for example (beware with this combination though, they only fit one way!) creating a range of beautiful flat flowers in a wide variety of colours (providing you have the inks of course)1. Stamped and Punched Flower

2. cutting into the punched flower and curling the petals to create a dimensional flower, great for the fronts of cards and as decoration on boxes

3. punching out a series of flowers, either with the same punch or different ones, and stacking and crumpling them to create a 3D flower creation

3. 3D flower

4. Cut the all petals off, giving you heart shapes

4. Hearts

5. Cutting one petal out – butterflies anyone!

5. Butterflies

6. Stamped as in point 1. but then cut in half to look like bows great for flat projects

6. Presents

7. as clouds

8. Use those 3D flowers from 3. to create a table centrepiece   http://www.pinterest.com/pin/42150946482093490/
