Stampin' Up! UK chocolate box video tutorial

Stampin' Up! 12 weeks of Christmas

I am so sad that this is series of Christmas projects is nearly over! We have reached week 11 of 12, so only next week to go 🙁 I do hope that you have enjoyed this series as much as I have enjoyed making it!

This week I have a fabulous box project for you, that would make a great box for home-made chocolates or truffles, or as a table gift on your Christmas table

Stampin' Up! UK 12 weeks of christmas table gifts

These are quite large boxes, and I have to admit, they are quite indulgent and use a WHOLE SHEET of A4 (or 8 1/2 x 11!) but they are a great size – 2 x 2 x 4″ (5 x 5 x 10 cm)

Measurements:

Card stock = 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm)

Score on the short side at 2 and 6″ (5 and 15 cm)

Score on the long side at 2, 4, 6, and 8″ (5, 10, 15 and 20 cm)

Designer Series Paper measures 2 x 8 1/2″ (5 x 22 cm)

I’m loving the belly band on these boxes, using the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper, and A Little Something stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Chocolate envelopes using the envelope punch board

Stampin' Up! 12 weeks of Christmas

Its’s Week 10 of our 12 weeks of Christmas countdown already! I can’t believe it! Really need to get organised with this Christmas shopping business, I haven’t even started yet!

Stampin' Up! UK 12 Weeks of Christmas

These super cute envelopes make sweet little gifts, and I’m planning on making a stack for the girls and guys working with me on Christmas day this year. It’s been a few years since I worked on Christmas day, and I’m actually quite looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to seeing lots of families visiting their loved ones, seeing the happy smiling faces of the ladies and gentlemen in my care, and sharing a little love with these cute envelopes filled with chocolates with my colleagues.

They are really easy to put together, even if you make a mistake like I did in the video!

Endless Birthday Wishes

Stampin' Up! UK Endless Birthday Wishes Cake Card

It was my mum’s birthday last week, I almost always buy my mum the same thing for her birthday. With it being close (-ish) to Christmas she doesn’t want much, but she always needs slippers by this point in the year – usually because she’s spent the summer mowing the lawn in her last pair! Mum also always wants the same pair, so about a week before the big day I pop off down to Marks and Spencers for the same slippers she had last year, usually in a different colour, but always the same style. This year, I called in to my Auntie’s in London on my way home for Brussels, and picked up Mum’s birthday present from her too – the matching Pyjamas!

Mum’s birthday card however, is always a tricky one for me. My mum appreciates the effort of a handmade card, but more than once has described my cards as dull. So now, I go all out to grab out my brightest coloured card stock, and fun stamps

Stampin' Up! UK Endless Birthday Wishes Cake Card

I will admit to pulling this stamp set off the shelf, and searching Pinterest before actually making anything. I love this colour combination; Pink Pirouette (although I think I grabbed my Blushing Bride pen by mistake when colouring the cake), Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay. It so bright and fun!

The stripes are a piece of Silver Designer Series Paper from the Neutrals paper stack, cut to 14.2 x 10 cm. With a matt of Whisper White (12.2 x 8 cm), stamped with the dotty stamp in the 3 colours. I’m trying really hard at the moment to use my stash of ribbon, and this card features a piece of Melon Mambo 1 cm Stitched Satin ribbon with knot tied in it. I attach ribbon to the back of card stock using Fast Fuse, and then add more Fast Fuse over the top to help stick the card stock down.

My favourite part of the card is that lovely banner piece, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White. The cake is stamped in Basic Black and coloured using the Stampin’ Write markers.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #3

Stampin' Up! UK Simple Sketched Challenge Season of Cheer

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you.  The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*.  Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

Its time for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! and another sketch which caused my great difficulty!

Simply Sketched Saturday Stampin Up! Challenge

I very rarely use ribbon on cards, and tying a big bow on the front of a card definitely isn’t me! I did consider changing the bow for a different image, but then couldn’t think of anything to change it to! But I still didn’t want to use ribbon, well then Stampin’ Up!® came to my rescue with the Bow Builder Punch!

Stampin' Up! UK Simple Sketched Challenge Season of Cheer

There are some retiring products on this card, and I really hope you can grab them before they sell out! I’ve LOVED used the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper featured on the bottom half of this card, its a perfect blend of colours and watercolour effect for the perfect Christmas feel.

The sentiment comes from the Festive Fireside stamp set, also on the retiring list, stamped in Cherry Cobbler, surrounded by a Wreath of Mossy Meadow

Before I go, I have a few Bow Builder Punch Tips!

  • punch all your pieces first (that’s two punches!) and curl them with your bone folder to prevent creases in your bow
  • stick your bow together with glue dots, but attach the completed bow to your project with Tombow Liquid Glue. I also find that my bow holds together better if I add some Tombow to the underside of the bow before I stick it down
  • Stampin’ Up!® have a great video on the assembling the bow on their YouTube channel

Christmas in Bloom

Stampin' Up! UK Christmas Cards Cherry Cobbler

I love a good Christmas stamp set (of which we have many in the Autumn / Winter catalogue this year) but I always enjoy finding an alternative use for a non-Christmas themed set. A few weeks ago Garden in Bloom found its way into my craft room, and I don’t know whether it was just my excitement about Christmas but I saw Poinsettias amongst the flowers – maybe I’m just crackers!

Stampin' Up! UK Garden in Bloom Season of Cheer

Those flowers are stamped in Real Red, with the outline in Memento Black. I fussy cut the 3 flowers (or Poinsettias) it didn’t take all that long actually, they are quite simple shapes, plus the Stampin’ Up!® paper snips make fussy cutting super easy with their sharp to the tip blades and easy hold handles.

The strip of Designer Series Paper is taken from Season of Cheer, and the edge finished with a 0.5 cm strip of Gold Foil Paper.

Stampin' Up! UK Garden In Bloom Christmas Card

Now, the only problem with using a non-Christmas themed stamp set for Christmas cards is the lack of a good sentiment. So I reached into my stash of Christmas stamp sets and chose this sentiment from Festive Fireplace.

Do you like finding alternative uses for Stamps in your collection too?

Stampin' Up! UK Simply Sketched Challenge Week 2

I REALLY REALLY struggled with this sketch! My brain doesn’t copy well with wonky angles, and the angles on the sketch were too much for my little brain to handle. I actually made two cards this week, I might blog the first card I made later in the week. I changed it on Friday when I started writing this post, because I’m not sure if I like it!

Stampin' Up! UK Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge

I am much happier with this card. I changed the shapes on the sketch from rectangles to circles (and so got rid of the wonky angles!). The Designer Series Paper is from the English Garden Designer Series Paper Pack, and although there are some lovely floral patterns in this pack, I really wanted to keep the patterns simple on this card.

The card base is in Soft Suede, with the card stock circle in Old Olive. I have to admit this is not a usual colour palate of mine, but I am trying to push myself on a Saturday and make something a little out of my comfort zone. All three pieces (the two DSP, and one card stock) are paper pierced to add some extra detail, along with the trio of Candy Dots in Soft Suede

Stampin' Up! UK English Garden Birthday card

I needed to introduce a horizontal element onto this card (as suggested by the sketch) but didn’t want to cover the circles too much. I have also recently found a love for vellum, I have always liked putting vellum on cards but at the moment I am having to stop myself from putting Vellum on EVERYTHING! The Vellum is stamped with a sentiment from the Garden In Bloom stamp set – which coordinates with the Designer Series Paper – stamped in Early Espresso.

Garden in Bloom

Stampin' Up! UK Garden In Bloom

I’ve got a bit of a confession to make this morning, this is not a card orginally designed by myself! I know, its shocking! but I’ve been feeling really unwell this week and trying to create was somewhere near the bottom of my list of priorities (curling up under the duvet came top!) and even still as I write this post my voice has gone AWOL.

However, Stampin’ Up!® do an amazing job at providing us with an enormous amount of inspiration and ideas in their catalogues, I could whip this card up in less that 10 minutes!

Stampin' Up! UK Garden In Bloom

Have you spotted the ‘You can make it’ boxes in this years catalogues? Well, this is one of those cards, there is also a whole section of my webstore dedicated to Project Ideas

Stampin' Up! UK Floral Birthday card

This card uses the Garden in Bloom stamp set, and coordinating English Garden Designer Series Paper. I love this stamp set, it allows you to create a wonderful array of gorgeous layered flowers, making you look like a true artist!

I have made on slight addition to this card since I took the photos, when I pulled this card to write this blog post I found that the vellum had begun to curl slightly at the left hand side. Vellum is a bit of a nightmare to attach with glue, as it is see through you can quite often spot the adhesives underneath. I orginally stuck it down with glue dots under the stamping (that also hold the bakers twine). But I didn’t want to stick a glue dot at one end, so I grabbed my 2-way glue pen, dabbed a dot onto the card stock and pressed the vellum down. Its definately dry, and I can’t see it! Awesome!

How you you attach Vellum?

Welcome Baby…

Stampin' Up! UK baby card

Last week we had a new addition to our family. My cousin and his wife welcomed a 3rd daughter, baby Molly.

I haven’t got any pictures of her (although, she is the cutest!) but I do have the card I took with me to meet her

Stampin' Up! UK baby card

This cute card uses a card base of Watermelon Wonder, with a layer of Very Vanilla and another of the gorgeous Sweet lil’ things Designer Series Paper.

The stamped images are from Zoo Babies, although you won’t find the sentiment there! I merged two stamp sets the create the ‘Hello baby’ with the Hello coming from Crazy about You and baby from Zoo Babies.

Stampin' Up! UK Advent Calender 2015 Season of Cheer

Stampin' Up! 12 weeks of Christmas

This week is my annual Advent Calender project! Yay! I LOVE making an advent calender each year, last year I made 25 little sour cream style bags (video tutorial still available), but this year I really needed to keep things really simple

So I turned to the Stampin’ Up!® Annual catalogue, and the Tiny Treat Boxes – you get 25 of these babies for just £6.25! add some Designer Series Paper and some numbers and you’re done! So easy

Stampin' Up! Advent Calender Video Tutorial

These also use the lovely Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper, so pretty and bang on trend with the watercolour look! This Designer Series Paper was hand painted by a lovely lady at the Stampin’ Up!® Utah Home Office. I used about 5 pieces of this paper on this project, which is great as there are 12 sheets in each pack -loads left over!

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper – 5 pieces for each box – 1 3/4 x 1 3/4″ (4.5 x 4.5 cm)

Stampin' Up! UK Advent Calender 2015 Season of Cheer

The numbers on these are super cute too, taken from the Hello December 2015 Project Life Accessory Pack for 25 super quick numbers!

Definintly the easiest Advent calender I have made a in a few years!

What are you making this Christmas?
