Stampin' Up! 12 weeks of Christmas

I don’t know if anyone else is like me and quickly running out of time before Christmas! I still haven’t got round to making my Christmas cards yet, let along finishing Christmas shopping or even thinking about getting any food in! I’m working at the day job over much of Christmas this year, and so have a few extra bits to do too – making gifts for colleagues and sorry I can’t be there cards for family members. Still, I’m sure it’ll all get done (even if its in January!)

Stampin' Up! UK Quick Christmas tags

So this week I hadn’t even managed to grab 5 minutes to make a video for you, I know – shocking seeing as it is Week 12 of our 12 weeks of Christmas! – and so this video is a little bit different!

At least I can now tick one job off my list – Christmas tags done!

What have you still got on your Christmas to do list?

Endless Wreath

Stampin' Up! UK Christmas wreath

It’s that time again, time for a Tuesday Video Tutorial! Yay!

I love this card, although I do wish that it had come out a little more circular – how many wreaths have you seen with corners?! but never mind, I love it all the same

Stampin' Up! Uk Christmas card stamping

This card was so quick and simple to stamp, just three colours of ink; Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Cucumber Crush (with some Real Red for the hearts) and a quick and easy technique; oh and its not even a Christmas stamp set!

How To:

Draw a circle on your card front using a pencil – I drew around a Circle thinlit die but you could use a glass or pot. I also stamped my sentiment at this point to ensure it was centred in the wreath.

Ink up your stamp, and stamp around the circle, changing direction and colour – You could use the second generation stamping to get a variation in colour too

Add the hearts (or berries) with Real Red ink

I think this would look lovely with some added glitter or heat embossing too!

12 Weeks of Christmas | Table Gifts

Stampin' Up! UK chocolate box video tutorial

Stampin' Up! 12 weeks of Christmas

I am so sad that this is series of Christmas projects is nearly over! We have reached week 11 of 12, so only next week to go 🙁 I do hope that you have enjoyed this series as much as I have enjoyed making it!

This week I have a fabulous box project for you, that would make a great box for home-made chocolates or truffles, or as a table gift on your Christmas table

Stampin' Up! UK 12 weeks of christmas table gifts

These are quite large boxes, and I have to admit, they are quite indulgent and use a WHOLE SHEET of A4 (or 8 1/2 x 11!) but they are a great size – 2 x 2 x 4″ (5 x 5 x 10 cm)

Measurements:

Card stock = 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm)

Score on the short side at 2 and 6″ (5 and 15 cm)

Score on the long side at 2, 4, 6, and 8″ (5, 10, 15 and 20 cm)

Designer Series Paper measures 2 x 8 1/2″ (5 x 22 cm)

I’m loving the belly band on these boxes, using the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper, and A Little Something stamp set.

Festival of Watercolour

Stampin' Up! UK Festival of Trees Watercolour

I’m a little bit in love with this card! I was sat brainstorming card designs last week and this card called out to me, check the video to see exactly how this card came together!

Stampin' Up! Uk Video Tutorial festival of trees

I’m still loving getting inky, and messy with my ink, water and stamps! and this card is no exception, using one of my favourite stamp sets of all time, with Stampin’ Write markers and my water spritzer

I realised when I went to do the voice over for this card that I had forgotten about the solid image stamp in this set. I had actually selected the stamp with spaces to add your baubles, which of course just filled in with ink and water once I had used my water spritzer! I did add some baubles to the trees though, using the dotty stamp with Versamark ink and Irredescent Ice embossing powder.

Stampin' Up! UK Festival of Trees Watercolour

The photos of course do not do this gorgeous embossing powder justice, I’m blaming the horrible storm and rain we were having when I was attempting to take these photos!

They are really easy to put together, even if you make a mistake like I did in the video!

There’s Snow Place Like Home….

Stampin' Up! UK Snow friends Penguin Watercolour

It’s no secret that I love watercolour techniques, and I’ve been at it again on this card. Actually the first time I made this card I managed to get the paper too wet, by adding far too many layers of watercolour and had to start again!

Stampin' Up! UK Snow friends Penguin Watercolour

Mr. Penguin was stamped in Archival Basic Black Ink onto Watercolour Paper. The new Archival inks are great for watercolour as they don’t react with water, meaning that the ink stays where you put it and doesn’t bleed. His feet and beak are coloured using a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker.

I have mentioned before about how much I love Stampin’ Up!® for coordination; and this set is no exception as it comes bundled with matching framelits, making cutting out Mr. Penguin’s ear muffs, ice cream and bow tie a breeze!

My favourite bits of this card is the background. After I had Mr. Penguin stamped (but before he got dressed!) I masked him off with a piece of Post-it tape to protect him and created this watercolour background using Soft Sky ink. I put several layers of watercolour here, to create a textured effect. The floor is Tip Top Taupe. For extra texture I added some Wisteria Wonder splatters using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

12 Weeks of Christmas – Hello December

Stampin' Up! December Daily

Stampin' Up! 12 weeks of Christmas

One of the greatest things about Christmas for me is getting to spent time with our extended family. 2015 has been a really big year in our family, with Weddings, new babies, house moves and many other exciting events. Stampin’ Up!® have partnered with Becky Higgins Project Life to create a great memory keeping system, not just for Christmas but for all year round.

I have just started to print photos and plan my wedding album using the Project Life system. I adore memory keeping, and really looking forward to spending some time over the Christmas season to sit and make a good start on my album.

Stampin' Up! December Daily

This year I am planning on documenting the Christmas season using the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Hello December 2015 (This is about to retire, so please grab the card kit and accessory pack quickly!)

The kits make it so simple to organise your photos and document those memories. I have already completed most of my album, ready to slip the photos in and add my journalling!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge #3

Stampin' Up! UK Simple Sketched Challenge Season of Cheer

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you.  The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*.  Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

Its time for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! and another sketch which caused my great difficulty!

Simply Sketched Saturday Stampin Up! Challenge

I very rarely use ribbon on cards, and tying a big bow on the front of a card definitely isn’t me! I did consider changing the bow for a different image, but then couldn’t think of anything to change it to! But I still didn’t want to use ribbon, well then Stampin’ Up!® came to my rescue with the Bow Builder Punch!

Stampin' Up! UK Simple Sketched Challenge Season of Cheer

There are some retiring products on this card, and I really hope you can grab them before they sell out! I’ve LOVED used the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper featured on the bottom half of this card, its a perfect blend of colours and watercolour effect for the perfect Christmas feel.

The sentiment comes from the Festive Fireside stamp set, also on the retiring list, stamped in Cherry Cobbler, surrounded by a Wreath of Mossy Meadow

Before I go, I have a few Bow Builder Punch Tips!

  • punch all your pieces first (that’s two punches!) and curl them with your bone folder to prevent creases in your bow
  • stick your bow together with glue dots, but attach the completed bow to your project with Tombow Liquid Glue. I also find that my bow holds together better if I add some Tombow to the underside of the bow before I stick it down
  • Stampin’ Up!® have a great video on the assembling the bow on their YouTube channel

Let it Snow!

Stampin' Up! UK Snowman card

I’m a little bit late with this weeks news – the Christmas retiring list has gone live! There are so many awesome stamps we are about to say Goodbye to, go and check out what is left!

I’m really hoping that there are some of these cute snowmen left for you, I love these and will be so sad to say see ya!

Stampin' Up! UK Snowman card

These are stamped in our new Archival Basic Black on Whisper White and die cut with the coordinating Framelits. This is one of the things I LOVE about Stampin’ Up!® – coordination – there is so many products that are either matching colours, or have a matching die or punch, or have coordinating fonts and images. Stampin’ Up!® make creativity easy, saving you time by ensuring that your projects are totally awesome!

Christmas in Bloom

Stampin' Up! UK Christmas Cards Cherry Cobbler

I love a good Christmas stamp set (of which we have many in the Autumn / Winter catalogue this year) but I always enjoy finding an alternative use for a non-Christmas themed set. A few weeks ago Garden in Bloom found its way into my craft room, and I don’t know whether it was just my excitement about Christmas but I saw Poinsettias amongst the flowers – maybe I’m just crackers!

Stampin' Up! UK Garden in Bloom Season of Cheer

Those flowers are stamped in Real Red, with the outline in Memento Black. I fussy cut the 3 flowers (or Poinsettias) it didn’t take all that long actually, they are quite simple shapes, plus the Stampin’ Up!® paper snips make fussy cutting super easy with their sharp to the tip blades and easy hold handles.

The strip of Designer Series Paper is taken from Season of Cheer, and the edge finished with a 0.5 cm strip of Gold Foil Paper.

Stampin' Up! UK Garden In Bloom Christmas Card

Now, the only problem with using a non-Christmas themed stamp set for Christmas cards is the lack of a good sentiment. So I reached into my stash of Christmas stamp sets and chose this sentiment from Festive Fireplace.

Do you like finding alternative uses for Stamps in your collection too?
