International Blog Highlight Travel themed Congratulations Card using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlight Travel with Bike Ride from Stampin’ Up!

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

Kylie’s challenge for this month was to create a Travel theme’d project… now, while this makes sense as many Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators gather for a trip to Alaska, it proved tricky for me. I really don’t have many stamp sets with a travel theme! There is a whole suite of goodies aimed at Travel Theme’d projects in this years Annual catalogue… but it hasn’t found it way into my craft room just yet. So, I stood, and stared at my stamp shelves for a while… before I realised I have the perfect travel theme’d set… Bike Ride!

Bike Ride is one of those really cool stamp sets that layers together to make something really great… and works perfectly with the Stamparatus! Here the bike has been stamped in a combination of Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Memento Black.

Because bicycles don’t usually float, I needed to find a why of grounding it on the card… and instead of placing it at the bottom, or adding a shadow with a Blends Marker… I decided to use the Petal Pair’s Embossing Folder. I LOVE the look of this, but it is a little tricky, and has creased the card stock… but I don’t think you can tell too badly!

Fun Congratulations card with a bicycle using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is taken from the Hostess Exclusive Stamp Set Hand-Delivered… I LOVE this font SO much! and the card is completed with a trio of Self-Adhesive Sequins (which I am a little addicted to!)

What’s you favourite finishing touch?

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenge Petal Palette Congratulations Card

Inspire.Create.Challenges Banner

This week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a fabulous sketch… and it’s super special because in addition to the usual, and very talented, Design Team we also have the Gorgeous Kylie Bertucci hopping with us too! Do pop over to the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog to check out everyone’s creations AND to add your own!

Inspire.Create.Challenge Sketch

I have a couple of cards for this challenge, I’ll post the first one today, and the keep watching for more inspiration coming at the weekend!

How to make a fun congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

I had heaps of fun with this one! I’ve been playing a lot with layering recently, and I’ve been playing again here. That bottom cluster has stamping, die cutting and ink blending! But it all works together, as all the products coordinate AND the limited colour palette.

This past few weeks I’ve been having heaps of fun pulling out different colour combinations, and this is no exception! I cannot wait to see what you make with this sketch… don’t forget to add your entry to the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog

Create an ink blended congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

This fabulous bundle, Petal Palette, might be my most used item from the Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer Catalogue. It makes beautiful cards really simply with lots of coordinating stamps and dies, PLUS detail dies that just add that special something to your project!

Inspire.Create.Challenges #011 | Hedgehugs

Quick and easy Hi There card using Hedgehugs from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenges #011 Hedgehugs

This weeks Inspire.Create.Challenges challenge is a fabulous sketch… I have waffled on before about how much I LOVE creating with a sketch, and I have previously shared my Sketch Top Tips with you too so this weeks card is simple and blog post short! Yes… it’s true… maybe!

Inspire.Create.Challenges Sketch Challenge 011

I have chosen to keep my card pretty simple for this challenge… and that isn’t unusual for me when I’m using a sketch. I have moved the circle a little but I have stuck fairly true to sketch this time. Life has been crazy busy recently with my day job, business, the impending end of James’ degree and all kinds of nightmares with house moving (which isn’t going well if your wondering!). So a simple card was really all I had time for!

How to make a cute card using Hedgehugs from Stampin' Up!

When I spotted the Hedgehugs stamp set in the Spring Summer catalogue I knew I HAD to have it. It’s just so cute! But I have really struggled to actually use it… So, when it came to making this card, I grabbed it as I knew that hedgehog would look super cute in a die cut circle!

Inspire.Create.Challenges 011 sketch challenge featuring Hedgehugs from Stampin' Up!

The hedgehog is stamped in Early Espresso ink, and I used Stampin’ Write Markers in Berry Burst and Powder Pink to add a little colour. I die cut him out after I stamped, and then added the sentiment after to ensure good placement.

I’ve finished this card with a strip of Wood Textures’ Designer Series Paper (I love this print, don’t you?) and a spritz of Early Espresso ink.

I would LOVE to see your creations with this sketch… why not share over at Inspire.Create.Challenges!

Inspire.Create.Challenges 007 | Colour Challenge

Inspire.Create.Challenges Colour Challenge December 2017 using Lots of Love from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenges 007 | Colour Challenge

Inspire.Create.Challenge December Colour Challenge

This weeks Inspire.Create.Challenge has a festive feel, however, I made a very conscious decision NOT to make a Christmas card this week. Partly because I have made more Christmas cards this year than I have people to send them too, and partly because tomorrow is the LAST day to shop Stampin’ Up! to ensure your goodies arrive before the man in the red suit, and so I would expect that you have probably finished making this years cards too!

How to make a quick and simple valentine using Lots of Love from Stampin' Up!

Keeping things pretty simple this week… I’m sure we have enough to do without making complicated cards too. So, it’s an almost one layer affair with a Big ol’ sentiment and some accent stamping!

I love this type of card for a quick ‘thinking of you’ or ‘thank you’ card. I thought this would be perfect for a simple Valentines, or even a sympathy card. There are lots of times we send Love… and why not send it handmade!

Inspire.Create.Challenges Colour Challenge December 2017 using Lots of Love from Stampin' Up!

All the stamps here are from the Lots of Love stamp set. I am LOVING big sentiments at the moment, ones that fill the front of your card and make sending that handmade Love really quick and easy. Once that sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake, it’s a simple case of adding leaves and flowers in the other colours in key areas. When I’m accent stamping like this, I tend to go for 3 groups of stamped images, the same way I do when I’m added embellishments. The eye loves a trio of things, and it helps to pull you around the card too.

We would LOVE to see what you do with this colour combination, check out the other Design Team members creations over at Inspire.Create.Challenges!

Inspire.Create.Challenges #005 | Season’s Greetings

Inspire.Create.Challenges Sketch Challenge using Year of Cheer from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenges #005 | Season’s Greetings

This week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is my personal favourite, we are using a Sketch this week! I LOVE a sketch, partly because I LOVE moving all the elements around and making something that looks nothing like the sketch at all, and partly because I love seeing what other people do with them!

I haven’t altered the sketch very much this week because I needed a quick card because I was away at Stampin’ Up! OnStage last weekend time hasn’t been my friend.

Inspire Create Challenges Stampin' Up! sketch challenge

As the challenge coordinator for Inspire.Create.Challenges I have been aiming to keep our sketches nice and simple. One so that it’s not a lot of work for the AWESOME Design Team, but also to make sure they aren’t too complex for a new card maker to follow along with. I LOVE this sketch, you guys know how much I use my circle dies… and this sketch just gave me another excuse to get them out (not that I needed one!)

Silver Christmas Card for Inspire.Create.Challenges using Year of Cheer from Stampin' Up!

This card uses the lovely Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper (Can you tell I’m in love with this a bit at the moment, it was on my Christmas Countdown project last week too!). The paper does come in Whisper White, with Metallic foiling (Yum!), but I have added colour here with a Sponge Brayer. So, I had intended for the added colour to be Smoky Slate to match the card base, but apparently my Sponger Brayer wasn’t quite as clean as I thought I was! I made 8 of these, and some of them have more than a hint of Tranquil Tide about them!

Measurements:

Card Base – Smoky Slate – 21 x 14.85 cm, scored on the long edge at 10.5 cm

Whisper White Layer – 14.3 x 10 cm

Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper – 9.5 x 4.7 cm

Inspire.Create.Challenges Sketch Challenge using Year of Cheer from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment circle is taken from the Cheers to the Year stamp set. I decided to embrace the Tranquil Tide and go with some stamping and card stock in the same colour, while the sentiment picks up on the hint of metallic from the Designer Series Paper and is Heat Embossed in Gold.

I thought that was going to be the card finished, but it just looked a little bare. So, I hit my ribbon draw and came up with this really pretty 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon in Whisper White for some cute bows.

I cannot wait to see what you make with this sketch! Don’t forget to join in over at Inspire.Create.Challenges.

Global Design Project 112 – Colour Me Happy

Global Design Project Watecolour Colour Me Happy Card using Stampin' Up! products

StampinByHannah Global Design Project 112 – Colour Me Happy

Hello….

So, I had planned for this blog post to go live this morning, but for many many reasons yesterday was a total write off, and so this evening appears to be the time.

This week’s Global Design Project Challenge is a CASE the designer. CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything… or Copy and Selectively Edit, depending on your point of view. I LOVE the card that the GDP have chosen for this weeks inspiration, and just HAD to have a go this week!

Global Design Project Watecolour Colour Me Happy Card using Stampin' Up! products

This card looks really complicated, but really it only took a few minutes to put together… even with the watercolour!

The flowers are stamped in Archival Basic Black ink onto Watercolour Paper. I am loving this stamp set, its called Colour Me Happy, and its a limited edition set released to celebrate the launch of Stampin’ Blends. It coordinates with a lovely card kit, although I think I have used it more on its own than with the kit! Here the flowers are watercoloured in Island Indigo ink, with Tangerine Tango centres. The background is coloured with Crumb Cake ink.

Measurements:

Card Base – Crumb Cake – 29.7 x 10.5 cm, scored at 14.85 cm

Basic Black card stock layer – 9 x 13.3 cm

Watercolour paper  – 8.5 x 12.8 cm

So Happy for You Card using Colour Me Happy from Stampin' Up!

The thing that really stood out about Connie’s card was the accents… I have recently been taking the backing paper off of White Perfect Accents for a hint of something on some of my cards. Today though, I thought I would try and taking the backing off some of the Glitter Enamel Dots…. and you know, it works! Peel away the coloured paper backing, and you reveal clear, glitter dots, Perfect for an accent!

The sentiment is also taken from the Colour Me Happy Stamp set, it is heat embossed in White onto a piece of Basic Black card stock, and the end finished with the Triple Banner Punch.

Inspire.Create.Challenges #004 | Your Kindness Means So Much…

Inspire Create Challenges Kindness Card Colour Combination Challenge using Painted Harvest from Stampin' Up!

I cannot believe it is already the 4th Inspire.Create.Challenge…. I hope that you are having as much fun with these challenges as I am!

I have a pretty simple card for you today, but the stamps on this one do ALL the talking!

Inspire Create Challenges Stampin' Up! Colour Combination using Island Indigo Soft Sky Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White

This colour combination was totally inspired by a swap group at a recent team training I attended. You might remember THIS card I made with the same colours! Actually this card has two sources of inspiration…. because I made it quite quickly after making THIS rainbow creation too…. Do you find that, when your making a few cards at once they seam to use the same stamp set, or have a similar layout? I certainly do! I actually made this card before our first challenge…. and it has been sat on my desk waiting for its moment for WEEKS!

Inspire Create Challenges Kindness Card Colour Combination Challenge using Painted Harvest from Stampin' Up!

Can you guess what Stamp set I have used here? It’s Painted Harvest! I know…. a Painted Harvest card without a sunflower?! This stamp set has the most amazing leaves (don’t tell, but I love the leaves more than the flower!!!) and although they are designed to be stamped one on top of the other (2-step stamping) I really like the look of the more detailed stamps on their own.

Here the leaves have been stamped around the card stock in Island Indigo and Soft Sky. With that cute little dot stamp added in Flirty Flamingo.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black… I almost went for Island Indigo, but just felt it would be lost and that a slight variation in colour would help it stand out.

Don’t forget to click over to the Inspire.Create.Challenges blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have created with this fun colour combination!

Inspire.Create.Challenges #003 | ‘Tis The Season

Fun Christmas Card for Inspire.Create.Challenges using Christmas Pines from Stampin' Up!

Hello! Oh, I am so excited for today’s blog post…. The Inspire.Create.Challenge Design Team have a heap of fun Festive inspiration for you today so do click over and see everyone else’s projects too!

I am loving being a part of the Inspire.Create.Challenges Team, and I would LOVE to see you join in with our challenges too.

This fortnight’s challenge is to create a Festive project! Now… when I sent this challenge out to the ladies I had many emails back going ‘Festive… is that Christmas?!’…. well, no. Festive could be anything, a celebration… you could make an Easter project if that really floats your boat!

I have gone for Festive = Christmas… but only because that it what I am working on in my Craftroom at the moment and I have Christmas stamps everywhere! However… I have pulled one of the Christmas stamp sets from the Annual catalogue rather than this years Autumn/Winter (which is awesome by the way!)

Fun Christmas Card for Inspire.Create.Challenges using Christmas Pines from Stampin' Up!

This stamp set was my absolute favourite from last years Autumn/Winter catalogue and I was SO excited to see it carry forward into the Annual this past year. Christmas Pines has a fun collection of pinecones, leaves, and GORGEOUS sentiments… . I am such a sucker for  pretty font and this set is full of pretty fonts!

I have written a full tutorial that you can print… that you can find HERE!

Fun Christmas Card for Inspire.Create.Challenges using Christmas Pines from Stampin' Up!
Isn’t that cluster so pretty?! I stamped the Pine Leaves stamp 3 times in Old Olive, without re-inking inbetween to create a dimensional look. Then I used the Pretty Pines Thinlits to die cut 3 different sized leaves from Old Olive card stock and added them over the top of the stamping with Glue Dots.
Those Pine Cones are also in the Christmas Pines stamp set and have been embossed in Gold before being die cut with the coordinating Pretty Pines dies. The cluster is then finished with that gorgeous bow in Real Red card stock….. finally, I bow I can make look pretty!
I would LOVE to see your festive creations this week… check the Inspire.Create.Challenges blog to enter.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge | Bold Happy Birthday

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Birthday Card using Happy Birthday thinlit from Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Hello! Welcome to the Simply Sketched Blog Hop for September! This month we have been creating with a fabulous sketch from Dee

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Birthday Card using Happy Birthday thinlit from Stampin' Up!

This card was really quick and simple to put together… once I had die cut all the pieces! I am loving the Happy Birthday thinlit for a quick and easy Birthday card at the moment. Here I cut it 4 times… 3 times in Crushed Curry and once from the gorgeous Champagne Foil. The secret is backing each piece of card stock with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet before you die cut it… this way when you die cut this intricate die, each die cut has adhesive already on the back… basically making your own die cut sticker! This die is really easy to get lined up so stacking them is quick and painless too.

Measurements:

Card Base – Dapper Denim – 21 x 14.85 cm, scored on the long side at 10.5 cm

Whisper White Mat – 10 x 14.3 cm

Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper – 9.5 x 13.8 cm

Whisper White Mat – 10 x 8 cm

Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper – 9.5 x 7.5 cm

I made this card for one of my brother-in-law’s birthday’s which was last week…. but James said it was girly…. so I had to make another! So, this card has no home…. if you would like me to send it to you, comment below with your current favourite adhesive and I will do a draw on Wednesday (4th October!)

Global Design Project #106 – Oh So Eclectic

Global Design Project #106 Sketch Challenge card using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

Its been a while since I took part in a Global Design Project challenge… it’s been just a little busy around here! but as soon as I saw this sketch yesterday I jumped into my craft room and created the card you can see below!

Global Design Project Sketch 106

I love a sketch with a circle… I think its because I love using circles on my cards. I am still obsessed with the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies, seriously if you don’t own these, they are an absolute must have! so handy to have a set of circles, squares and ovals… for such a good price too!

Oh So Eclectic card for the Global Design Project using Stampin' Up! products

This card uses the Oh So Eclectic stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue (have you seen my class using this set yet?) this stamp set is another one of my favourites, along with the coordinating die set and the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper too. It was a pretty simple card to put together, the strip of Designer Series Paper is layered with a die cut in Berry Burst Card stock. This die actually only cuts the inside shapes, but it is really easy to cut around it and make this fun geometric shape

Global Design Project #106 Sketch Challenge card using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

Then there is a piece of Berry Burst ribbon, one of those Stitched Shapes cut from Vellum, two Classic Labels and a bow in that same Berry Burst ribbon to finish.

You can find a video of this card over on my Instagram! Its the first time I’ve done one of these short videos over on Instagram, but it was loads of fun! will certainly have to do it again!
