The Swirly Scribbles thinlits are super awesome! I am obsessed with that die cut, and the other swirly bits and pieces – they make a great accent to any card. I’ have die cut it here in Basic Black as the card is so bright and colourful, but it looks good in any colour

Measurements:

Card Base – Basic Black – Half A4 folded in half

Sahara Sand – 10 x 14.3 cm

Whisper White (Ink Blended Panel) – 9.5 x 13.8 cm

Pootles Team Blog Hop Annual Catalogue Jar of Love Stampin' Up! UK

bog hop-001

Thank you so much for joining us for our Pootler’s Team Blog Hop! This time we are celebrating the launch of the 2016 Annual Catalogue. I’ve had a sneaky peak of everyone’s projects and I know that you are going to love them ALL! So, don’t forget to use the Next and Previous buttons at the end of this post to see more awesome projects using the new products!

Birthday card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up! UK

As demonstrator’s we have had this new catalogue in our hands now for 2 months, and when I first clapped eyes on the front cover I wanted the fabulous flowers on the front cover. Those flowers are from the Jar of Love stamp set (page 75) and I love them even more in real life than I did when I first saw the front cover!

Pootles Team Blog Hop Annual Catalogue Jar of Love Stampin' Up! UKThis card was really simple to put together, a little time consuming with all the die cutting, but well worth it! The flowers in the jar are super clever, they are one stamp, that stamps 2 flowers (well, 2 stamps I suppose as they are 2-step stamped) and then the die cuts them into two seperate flower pieces – Awesome! I actually think that I love the dies more than I love the stamps in this bundle – I mean that large jar has 2 dies; one for the outside edge and one of the middle!

Jar of Love Birthday Card using Stampin' Up! Uk Products

I do have a slight confession to make, the Smoky Slate Bakers Twine which I have used to create the bow has retired, usually I take everything on the retiring list off my shelves and out of my drawers before you can’t buy them any more, but somehow this piece of twine got missed – and I hadn’t realised it had gone until I had finished writing this post! Oops!

Anyway, I really hope that you enjoy the blog hop as much as I enjoy organising it! Don’t forget to ‘hop’ on to Anna’s blog to see her awesome project….

Sweet Cupcake

I just love this cupcake! I’m a sucker for a 2-step stamp set that this one even has coordinating dies (that come bundled together for 10% off!) I made this card last week with the ladies that came to my Catalogue Launch Party, we had so much fun stamping and adding Wink of Stella to this 0 Calorie treat!

Sweet Cupcake From Stampin' Up! UK

The cupcake is stamped in two parts; the cake base and then the icing. The cake base is stamped in Sahara Sand and Tip Top Taupe, while we used Perfect Plum (stamped off once), Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry to create the icing.

Birthday card using Sweet Cupcake from Stampin' Up!

Once we had the cupcake stamped, we die cut the pieces using the coordinating dies and added them to the card over the loops of Copper Metallic Thread with a few dimensionals.

I can’t wait to see what everyone else has created for today’s hop! click the Next Blog button at the bottom of the post to continue hopping along.

Global Design Project #040 | Jars of Watercolour

Thank You watercolour Card featuring Jar of Love from Stampin' Up! Uk

Hello! I cannot believe it has been weeks since I joined in over at the Global Design Project! I have missed it, this weeks challenge is to CASE the Designer. This type of challenge always makes me a little nervous as the girls and guys over at GDP are so super talented, but I’m giving it a go

GDP 040 - Case the Designer

I love the stamp set Shawn De Oliveira has used on this card, and I almost used it as well. But I was totally drawn to the layout of this card, with the offset panel. So I thought I would use that instead.

Thank You watercolour Card featuring Jar of Love from Stampin' Up! Uk

Jar of Love was one of the stamp sets I knew I HAD to have when I first looked at the catalogue, those jars are just so adorable! I was actually making a different card when this one sort of appeared as if from no-where (I’ll be sharing the other card here on Saturday!)

Jar of Love Thanks Card Stampin' Up! UK

That watercolour background was so easy to create; add ink to a large acrylic block and use an Aqua Painter to pick up the colour, and wash it onto the Watercolour Paper. I repeated it several times to get an intense wash of Flirty Flamingo.

I cant get enough of that pretty side panel either, stamped on Pool Party ink onto Pool Party card stock for a great tone on tone effect – similar to what Shawn had done with his card too!

Watercolour Thank you card featuring Stampin' Up! UK Jar of Love

I couldn’t use Jar of Love without using a jar could I?! so this one is stamped in Smoky Slate, with Pool Party ‘water’ and a bow of Flirty Flamingo. That ‘Thanks’ is in the same stamp set, is stamped in Smoky Slate too.

Thanks for checking out my blog today, hope you have a great day

Oh! Jar of Love How You Light Up My Life!

Quick and Easy card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up! UK

I am so sorry for the super corny title of this blog post, but I have been sat at my desk for about 10 minutes trying to think of something and that was the best I could do! I’m writing this first thing on Monday morning (for all you are reading this on Tuesday!) and its a strange week for me, I’m a lady of leisure this week as I finished my previous day job on Saturday, and don’t start the new one until next week. I am so excited for this new challenge! but instead of having an easy and relaxing week off I thought I would plan heaps of stuff for you instead! So, keep your eyes pealed for even more good stuff coming your way!

Quick and Easy card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up! UK

Right, time for the card! We made this card last week at my Catalogue Launch Party. We had a great time making this card, and those little fireflies – so cute!

I have been playing around with card sizes recently and this is 4 x 4″. We stamped on the card base first with Bermuda Bay ink on Bermuda Bay card stock, before using the Bermuda Bay to stamp the jar on a 3 3/4 x 3″ piece of Whisper White. The sentiment was hand cut, but that bow is die cut using the coordinating framelits.

I had been struggling to find colour combinations for Peekaboo Peach, I’m just not a orange girl! but I really enjoyed this combination of Bermuda Bay, Peekaboo Peach, Smoky Slate and So Saffron. I would LOVE to see what you make with this colour combination! Let me see how this has inspired you by posting to my Facebook page, or emailing me a photo!

Make It Monday | Create Your Own Designer Series Paper

Make It Monday Video Tutorial Custom Patterned Paper using Stampin' Up! stamps

Make It Monday with Stampin' Up!

Welcome to a new week at StampinByHannah! This week is gonna be a busy one, I hope your ready!

Last week my gorgeous Team Leader challenged her team to create their own Designer Series Paper using stamps! I love a creative challenge, and for all I have made my own Designer Series Paper in the past it has been a while! So, I stamped some 3 3/4″ squares using the Swirly Bird stamp set, and then made a series of cards with them!

Make It Monday Video Tutorial Custom Patterned Paper using Stampin' Up! stamps

Can you tell that I’m loving the Swirly Bird! I really enjoyed creating these cards, probably because I got to use a whole heap of inks! I will list my colour combinations at the bottom of this blog post, because I think they are fab, but all inspired by the 2015-2017 In Colours; Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush and Tip Top Taupe.

I think the easiest way of ensuring success with this is to try and balance the stamps and white areas. You can see I haven’t filled the paper with the images, they have room to breathe, but there isn’t so much white that the stamped images are lost. I find the easiest way to do this is to stamp your largest images first, and then add the next largest, and work back to the smallest stamps. The colour combinations are also important, here I have used two shades of the same colour (Delightful Dijon and Crushed Curry, Watermelon Wonder and Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron and Island Indigo) with a pop of a contrasting colour and a neutral (Sahara Sand) to pull the cards together and ensure they don’t clash.

Make It Monday Create your own Patterned Paper with Stamps using Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up! UK

The cards all all finished the same way, with the Thank You from Endless Thanks heat embossed in White onto a piece of Basic Black Card stock. Super simple, but very effective.

Colour Combinations:

  • Delightful Dijon, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand
  • Mint Macaron, Island Indigo, Pumpkin Pie and Sahara Sand
  • Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral, Tempting Turquoise, Sahara Sand
  • Tip Top Taupe, Early Espresso, Emerald Envy, Sahara Sand
  • Cucumber Crush, Garden Green, Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand

Measurements

Card Base – 8 x 4″ (20 x 10 cm), Scored on the long side at 4″ or 10 cm

Whisper White Matt – 3 3/4 x 3 3/4″ (9.5 x 9.5 cm)

Basic Black – 1 1/2 x 1″ (4 x 2.5 cm)

Fancy Fold Friday | Double Front Card

Fancy Fold Friday Double Front Card Featuring Gifts of Love from Stampin' Up! UK

Fancy Fold Friday

Hello! Welcome to Fancy Fold Friday! I am loving the card this week. Whilst I was scanning through Pinterest a few weeks ago I spotted this style of card, something I hadn’t come across before, and I love it! I’ve kept it super simple for the video tutorial but I can see all kinds of fancy things happening with this fold.

Fancy Fold Friday Video Tutorial using Gifts of Love from Stampin' Up!

One first glance this card doesn’t look like much….

Fancy Fold Friday Gifts of Love Stampin' Up! Video Tutorial

Until you open it!

This card is super simple to create, You know I don’t do anything overly complicated! (one of the reasons why I’m a papercrafter and not a knitter, or a sew-er – that and I’m terrified of a sewing machine, but that’s a different story!)

So, this card uses the Gifts of Love stamp set from the new 2016 Annual catalogue. This is one of the stamp sets that is exclusive to Hostesses, or those who place orders of over £150 Online. This years hostess stamp sets are just fabulous, definitely worth spending that extra £ for. Oh, while I’m waffling about getting free stamps, Stampin’ Up! has a great offer this month when you spend £250, you get at least £55 of Stampin’ Rewards to spend on Hostess stamp sets or anything else you choose from the catalogue! how awesome is that!

Fancy Fold Friday Double Front Card Featuring Gifts of Love from Stampin' Up! UK

Playful Designer Tin of Cards Card!

Designer Tin of Cards Playful Backgrounds Thank you card featuring Stampin' Up! UK products

I just LOVE being a part of Stampin’ Up! Last month, one of my demonstrator sisters organised a fabulous card swap. Card swaps are a great way of getting heaps of idea and inspiration, as well as giving me even more cards to share with you at classes and live events. I actually used one of the cards I received as part of the card swap as inspiration for one of my Make and Takes last night at my 2016 Catalogue Launch Party (and I will share that card with you next week!)

Designer Tin of Cards Playful Backgrounds Thank you card featuring Stampin' Up! UK productsThis was my swap card. I received the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set and Playful Backgrounds during a Stampin’ Up! event in April. I have already made heaps of cards with Playful Backgrounds but this was the first time I bust out the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set!

I am still totally obsessed with colour and the colour combination on this card is one I just adore; Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake. I made 12 of these cards is a flash! just a bit of simple stamping. LOVE!
