Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge featuring Crazy About You Gorgeous Grunge Bunch of Blossoms From Stampin' Up! UK

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Hello! Welcome to another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! This sketch has been sat on my desk for a couple of weeks, but only in the last few days have I actually managed to create something! I love sketches like that, really thinkers, thanks Louise!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Sketch July 2016

I have to admit that I have moved things around a bit on this one, but the sketch was definitely my ‘jumping off point!’

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge featuring Crazy About You Gorgeous Grunge Bunch of Blossoms From Stampin' Up! UK

This week I received one of the new Ombre Ink Pads from my gorgeous team leader, and this weeks sketch challenge just seemed like the perfect opportunity to use it! The flower is taken from Crazy About You and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry Ombre – there are a couple of important things to remember when using the new Ombre pads

  • Larger, and more solid images work best
  • take the stamp to the pad to ink it up, gently tap the stamp to the pad repeatily in a circle pattern to ensure that you don’t end up with a stripy image. There is a great video on the Stampin’ Up! YouTube channel that I will post to my Facebook page later on.
  • There are 3 great colours available; Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge July 2016 Featuring Crazy about you from Stampin' Up!The horizontal and vertical elements of the sketch were the trickiest bit for me, but I never need an excuse to grab Gorgeous Grunge off the shelf!

The leaves are taken from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set. Stamped in Cucumber Crush onto Cucumber Crush Card stock and fussy cut. The card is finished with the sentiment heat embossed in Copper and some loops of the Copper Metallic Thread.

Christmas In July | Watercolour!

Christmas in july Peace this christmas from Stampin' Up! UK

Stamping Christmas in July

I haven’t featured any special techniques this week, and I couldn’t end this series without a special something. You guys know how much I love watercolour and stamping, and this card incorporates both.

Christmas In July Featuring Watercolour Peace This Christmas from Stampin' Up! Uk

I have shared this technique before, inking up a Clear Block and adding water before stamping onto Shimmery White card stock. You can check out the video tutorial here too:

I think this is one of my favourite Christmas cards this week, simple card making is totally my thing, a simple technique and lots of white space. Just lovely.

Global Design Project #045

Global Design Project Colour Challenge card featuring Garden in Bloom and Playful Backgrounds from Stampin' Up! UK

It has been so long since I took part in a challenge, I have really missed it. Anyway, I have been trying to get this card posted all week and seeing as I have finally found 10 minutes to get this blog post written, now appears to be the time!

Global Design Project Colour Challenge

I love this colour combination! So classy, but not a colour combo I reach for often!

Global Design Project Colour Challenge card featuring Garden in Bloom and Playful Backgrounds from Stampin' Up! UK

There are two stamp sets at work here; Garden in Bloom and Playful Backgrounds. The Flower is stamped in Melon Mambo and Basic Black before being fussy cut. While the stripy background is a stamp from Playful Backgrounds and has been stamped and then stamped again without re-inking to create this two tone effect

Global Design Project Colour challenge Garden in Bloom Playful Backgrounds Stampin' Up! Uk

I couldn’t help but to add something a little bit extra to this fairly simple card, I am obsessed with the Metallic threads at the moment and some loops of silver were just what this card needed.

Thanks so much for checking out my blog today, and I hope to see you all again here soon

Christmas In July | Peace Joy and Love

Quick and easy christmas card using Peace this Christmas from Stampin' Up! UK

Stamping Christmas in July

My favourite Christmas cards aren’t usually the traditional Red and Green, I prefer more winter’y colour; blues, greys and silvers – actually my Christmas tree is usually in non-traditional colours too, although I have to admit its usually purple!

Christmas Card using Peace this Christmas for Christmas In July Stampin' Up! UK

Stamping Christmas in July

I am having so much fun getting an early start on my Christmas Cards! I have a whole week of Christmas cards for you this week, including an exclusive video tutorial on Thursday if you subscribe to my Weekly Emails!

Christmas in July card using Peace this Christmas from Stampin' Up! UK

I love making simple cards at Christmas, cards that I can quickly make multiples of to send to work colleagues, James’ university friends, and others. Christmas is the only time of year I really make more than one of a particular card design, except when I’m making Wedding Invitations of course, but for most card makers Christmas is the biggest card making event of the year

Quick and Easy Christmas card using Peace this Christmas from Stampin' Up! uk

This card uses the Peace This Christmas stamp set and the This Christmas Speciality Designer Series Paper, I can see so many cards using this pine leave stamp, and those berries 🙂

Jar of Love | CASE

Stampin' Up! UK Card Case Jar of Love

I have LOVED sharing these CASE cards with you this week. If you want to go back and look at the other 3 cards I have shared on my blog you can check them out; Sweet Cupcake, Garden In Bloom, and Sitting Here.

I couldn’t CASE the catalogue without sharing a card featuring the Jar of Love stamp set. This set is high up on my MUST HAVE list, and I will probably be using it again to CASE the front cover very soon!

Simple Card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up! UK

How cute is that goldfish?!

This card is a one layer card in the catalogue, but I have chosen to add my watercoloured layer onto a card base of Pool Party card stock – mainly because I am running a little short of Thick Whisper White card stock!

Jar of Love goldfish card using Stampin' Up! UK products

This card caught my eye because of the Goldfish, but once I started to make it I fell in LOVE with it, all because of that strip of Washi Tape – I mean, how often do we actually use our stash of Washi Tape on cards! well, here is one opportunity for you!

Sitting Here | CASE

Sitting Here Stampin' Up!

So, we continue our journey through this years Annual Catalogue with another one of my top picks! Sitting Here, I’m a sucker for a stamp set that I can use a heap of different techniques with and while this one is designed to be used with Masking I have also used watercolouring and fussy cutting with this set.

Card CASE Sitting Here watercolour from Stampin' Up! UKI have been eyeing up this card for a while, but haven’t been brave enough to get the Aqua-Painter out to watercolour it!

Annual16_p100_a-330

I chose not to include the dog in my version, although he is super cute, I was trying to keep things simple! The swing seat, cushions and sentiment are all stamped in Archival Basic Black ink, onto Thick Whisper White or Watermelon Wonder for the sentiment.  The images are watercoloured in Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy and Watermelon Wonder.

Simple Card CASE featuring Sitting Here from Stampin' Up! UK

I just love the torn edge at the top of this one, and the burlap ribbon trim!

Garden In Bloom | CASE

Garden In Bloom Stampin' Up! UK

So, I’m continuing my week of CASing the catalogue, and today I’m sharing a card using Garden in Bloom. I just love this stamp set, and while not new it is still one of my favourites. Its a great stamp set for a heap of techniques; its intended as a 2-step stamping set, but I love using it with watercolour, and heat embossing too!

Simple Garden In bloom card CASE Stampin' Up! UK

This card really caught my eye in the catalogue, the more I looked the more details I spotted – Love that!

Annual16_p146_a-30

So, first off there is the stamping; Garden In Bloom stamped in Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Sweet Sugarplum. Then a layer of Vellum, cut slightly smaller than the stamped layer, is added. I love adding Vellum to my cards but adhering it is always tricky. Here the Vellum is attached with a heap of Fast Fuse Adhesive underneath the embellishment, and I also added 3 very small blobs of Fine Tipped glue on white bits of the stamped area – and you can’t see it because it dries totally clear! Yay!

Garden in Bloom Birthday Card using Stampin' Up! UK productsThe embellishment is a combination of a strip of Affectionately Yours Speciality Designer Series Paper, Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon, and loops of Cooper Metallic Thread. All layered underneath the sentiment, along with a bow of Whisper White bakers twine.

Make It Monday | Cupcake CASE!

I have a special week for you this week here on my blog, I’m CASing the catalogue! CASE (or Copy and Share Everything) is actively encouraged by Stampin’ Up! and seeing as there are so many awesome ideas in this years catalogue, I couldn’t not make some of them! Sweet Cupcake CASE Video Tutorial using Stampin' Up! UK Products

I have been suffering from a terrible case of Crafter’s Block over the past few weeks, I have tried to make some bits and bobs but I haven’t like anything I have made. Normally I post every single card I make here on the blog, whether I like it or not, but I struggled to find anything positive to say about any of them! So, when it came to making my Make It Monday project this week I didn’t know what I was going to do! Until I turned to my trusty copy of the catalogue, and a card jumped straight out at me!

Stampin' Up! Sweet Cupcake

You can find the original card on page 23 of this years Annual Catalogue. I have of course made my own edits (which is totally allowed) mostly to aid the translation of the card from 8 1/2 x 11″ card stock using in the USA to the A4 size that we use here in Europe.

I’m loving making my Make It Monday videos, but did you know that I am also making a second video each week at the moment, exclusively for my Email Newsletter subscribers, I have already filmed my card for this week and I am loving it! You can subscribe to my newsletter at any time by using the link at the end of each and every blog post, or by clicking HERE!
