Global Design Project #72 | Crazy About You

Global Design Project Case the Designer Challenge using Crazy About You from Stampin' Up! UK

Did you think I’d missed the Global Design Project this week? As if I would….. ok, so I almost did! but this CASE the designer challenge has been on my mind all week. I think I have made about 10 cards in my head, but only one out of actually paper (not that it is anything like what I had planned!)

How fabulous is this card from Krista Frattin, very pretty. The dotty background has been a feature of every single card I have imagined for this challenge this week, but how to execute this has changed a few times. Krista used one of the now retired dotty glassine bags, and I almost followed suit because I have a few of this left in my stash. But change my mind, opting to stamp with Whisper White Craft Ink into Vellum instead.

Global Design Project Case the Designer Challenge Thanks for being You card using Crazy About You from Stampin' Up! UK

I had ideas of die cutting, and squares… and then I found my punch drawer instead! Although the circle is die cut using the Layering Circles dies. I intitially wasn’t aiming to use Krista’s colour combination, opting to use her card as a sketch, but I am pushing myself to make this a challenge at the moment, and her colours weren’t a combination I have used… So I did it! Calypso Coral, Cucumber Crush, Sahara Sand and Basic Black

Global Design Project Case the Designer Challenge using Crazy About You from Stampin' Up! UK

I had also considered heat embossing and all kinds of things for this sentiment. But you know, sometimes simple is better, and so stamped in Basic Black onto Whisper White and cut out by hand won out this time.

Thanks for checking out my blog today. I hope to see you here again soon

Question of the day: How would YOU take on this card, I would love to see you versions. Make a card today and take a picture and share it with me on Facebook, go on, I dare you!

Love Hearts Week | Distress Resist Congratulations Card

Love Hearts Week Distress Resist video tutorial using So In Love from Stampin' Up! UK

Love Hearts sweets Video tutorials

Ok, so it is Wednesday, and today – even though it is Love Hearts Week –  I have a card project for you, because I couldn’t not share this card with you almost as soon as I had made it!

One of the many ways I find inspiration on a daily basis is YouTube, and one of the very lovely people I follow is the gorgeous Jennifer McGuire (I am going to try not to sound like some sort of crazy fan-girl now….) she shares some fabulous techniques, but she doesn’t use Stampin’ Up! inks…. so I like to test out her ideas using Stampin’ Up! products. Which is what I have done today.

Love Hearts Week Distress Resist video tutorial using So In Love from Stampin' Up! UK

This technique is really very simple; select your stamp (always a good place to start!) I love using line images for this, but you could totally use something more solid too. Ink it up in Versamark and stamp in onto Whisper White card stock. Heat set it or leave it for a while to dry, and then sponge ink over the top to get this cool, delicate effect.

You could totally add white or clear embossing powder after the Versamark to make a more vibrant image too.

Jennifer McGuire Distress Resist Technique using inks from Stampin' Up! UK

And those blank Enamel shapes…. you’ll have to watch the video to see how I made those!

Question of the Day: What is your current favourite YouTube Channel

I don’t think I could possibly choose, I am enjoying watching fitness and diet theme-d videos at the moment

I have been playing with the Lift Me Up! bundle for months, (its been in my inky fingers since September last year when I was asked to make samples with it for the On Stage Local event in Telford!) but I have not got tired of it yet! It coordinate perfectly with the Sale-a-bration item; Carried Away Designer Series Paper which I have used in the background. I am currently taking every possible opportunity to use my favourite colour; Mint Macaron, before it sadly retires in June (get your refills now!)

The Sentiment is from another one of the Sale-a-bration items. Designer Tee, is designed to coordinate with the Custom Tee stamp and die bundle in the Spring / Summer catalogue, but I love that the sentiments fit with heaps of other stamp sets and occasions too. Side-note; how true is that sentiment!

I hope that you have enjoyed hopping along with me today, please click on the images below to check out the other ladies blogs!

Lucky to have a Special Reason

Special Friend Card using Special Reason from Stampin' Up! UK

I rarely get chance to make a card simply for the enjoyment of making, although I never make anything I don’t want to make just so I can blog it (although there are many projects I have made an not been a massive fan of once completed that have appeared here on my blog!). Anyway, a few weeks ago I decided I would just play, get out all my new stamps and just have fun….. and this card is the result.

Just Because card using Special Reason from Stampin' Up! Uk

This stamp set, Special Reason, was an all attendee give away at Stampin’ Up! OnStage back in November, and I immediately fell in love with it. However, paired with the coordinating framelits it’s even better! Stylish Stems includes a heap of great dies, that can be cut in various ways (and I love that Stampin’ Up! have made a video so I don’t have to!)

I am so looking forward to getting some time over the weekend to CASe some of those samples, quite fancy-ing a combination of the stamps and watercolour…. hmmm

Special Friend Card using Special Reason from Stampin' Up! UK

I’m loving this colour combination too… I am all about the colour, its one of the many reason’s I love Stampin’ Up! the fact that I can grab inks, card stock and embellishments that are all the same colour is a big bonus for me! So the colours on this one are;

Aren’t they pretty? Click on the colour names above to see a whole heap of coordinating products in that colour!

Question of the Day: Tea or Coffee?

I’m a big coffee fan. I LOVE my Tassimo machine, although I’m supposed to be on a diet at the moment so my Tassimo pods have become something of a treat!

Make It Monday | Cute card using Sweet Cupcake from Stampin’ Up! UK

Make It Monday video tutorial using Sweet cupcake and watercolour pencils from Stampin' Up! UK

make-it-monday-banner

Welcome to Monday! I do hope this week is totally awesome for you…. I can make it even more awesome of course! Have you checked out my most recent Online Card Class yet? This class uses the fabulous Sweet Cupcake stamp and die bundle…. check the video to see exactly what comes in your class pack

Make It Monday video tutorial using Sweet cupcake and watercolour pencils from Stampin' Up! UK

I love the Sweet Cupcake stamp set. It is designed to work as a triple layer stamp, with both the cupcake base and the icing have 3 stamps to create a totally dimensional cupcake. However, I have only used the base layer to create this card…. and then added extra detail with Watercolour Pencils (obsessed with those!)

The watercolour pencils can be used either on their own – as regular pencils – with an Aqua Painter or a paint brush, or with a blender pen. So far my experiments with a blender pen seem to have better blended results that with an Aqua-Painter or a paint brush, but then I haven’t finished playing with them yet…

Team Colour Challenge | Sweet Cupcake

Team Colour Challenge Thank You card using Sweet Cupcake from Stampin' Up! UK

Every now and again someone in my team of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators we set a challenge, sometimes its business related, and other times its creative. A few weeks ago we set a challenge to create a card using two colours (plus a neutral) that were selected at random – by random I mean I spun my colour caddy with my eye shut and pulled out two inks – Marina Mist and Smoky Slate!

Team Colour Challenge Thank You card using Sweet Cupcake from Stampin' Up! UK

My current Online Card Class features the Sweet Cupcake stamp set, and I was just gathering ideas for cards for my class when this colour challenge came up. So I took advantage of the free theme to make a card using Sweet Cupcake as practice. You can find out more about my Sweet Cupcake class on my Online Card Class page.

This card was pretty simple to put together; the cupcake is super easy to stamp even though its in 3 layers, they line up really easily, I thought I would share a video using this stamp set again so you can see how easy it is to stamp.

I would love you to join in! Just select two inks totally at random and use those colours to make a project! Share with me in the coordinating post over on my Facebook Page, and I will select a winner next week. Entries close, midnight (UK) on 25th January 2017, and I’ll announce the winner on my blog!

Thanks for checking out StampinByHannah today, and I hope to see you again soon

Question of the day: What is your favourite type of cupcake?

Me? I just love cake! any flavour, any size, although the more chocolate the better!

Sale-a-bration Wednesday | December Thank You Cards

Sale-a-bration thank you card using So very much from Stampin' up! UK

I am LOVING this Sale-a-bration! There are so many great products to get for FREE when you shop! you can check them out my clicking on the Sale-a-bration picture on the right (or at the bottom if your on a mobile device) of this blog post.

Sale-a-bration thank you card using So very much from Stampin' up! UK

I made a stack of these for my December Customers. They are super simple to put together, and I made all the flowers during an hour long team call with my team leader a few weeks ago. I will quite often craft on calls to team members, or my team leader, also long as they are quiet crafty jobs! (ie: no big shot work!). The flowers on these cards use the Faux Suede technique, where you punch out the shape, and then manipulate the card stock back and forward until the layers of card stock separate. This then shows the fluffy fibres of the card stock and looks like suede! I did a Make It Monday a few weeks ago on this technique, complete with a video for you to enjoy!

Global Design Project #070 | Falling for you…. and a ladybird!

Global Design Project Celebration card using Falling in Love with Lots of Love from Stampin' Up! UK

Oh yes, I’m back working with a Global Design Project sketch again this week. I am planning for this to be my weekly Tuesday blog post, however last week was crazy from the second I opened my eyes on Monday morning, and the crazy didn’t end until Sunday night…. I’m hoping for calm this week (but something tells me everything is about to go pear shaped again!)

Global Design Project Stampin' Up! Cardmaking challenge

I love the simplicity of this sketch, and I did have a plan to keep things really simple…. but then I spotted the couple of ladybirds on my stamp shelves and things went a little differently!

Global Design Project Celebration card using Falling in Love with Lots of Love from Stampin' Up! UK

But aren’t they just so cute! I knew I wanted to use Designer Series Paper for the banner across the card, and I haven’t been able to put this pack of DSP away recently – its the brand new Sending Love Designer Series Paper stack that features loads of lovely patterns, one side of the paper is love / Valentines themed while the other is great polka dots and other more neutral patterns, but all in Real Red and Whisper White.

Sketch Challenge Celebration card with Ladybirds from Lots of Love and Falling in Love from Stampin' Up! UK

Those cute Ladybirds are from the Love You Lots, this fabulous stamp set is available with Stampin’ Rewards… and seeing as you have even more Stampin’ Rewards during Sale-a-bration this would be the perfect time to get your hands on it!

Thanks for checking out my blog today, and I hope to see you again soon

Question of the Day: What are you doing today?

I’m off to the day job today, a lovely 9-5 day…. although I’m then off to the gym for the first time in, well lets just call it slightly too long! Wish me luck!
