Stinkin Inkers Challenge | It’s Spring!

Stinkin Inkers Card making challenge Spring Themed card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up!

Hello! Welcome to another card for the Stinkin’ Inkers Challenge… I LOVED checking out all your fabulous blogs and gorgeous projects last month. Check out how you can join in over at Stinkin’ Inkers!

This month’s theme is It’s Spring! (although with the snow we had here last week I’m not so sure!)

Stinkin Inkers Card making challenge Spring Themed card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up!

Spring…. what do you think of when someone says It’s Spring! I think flowers, pastel colours, and then get excited that it’s almost summer! I am so looking forward to summer this year….not that I’m getting a holiday or that anything especially exciting is happening, but just the prospect of it not being freezing cold is enough to make me happy. My card today uses the Jar of Love stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create a fun floral wreath

Stinkin Inkers Card making challenge Spring Themed card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up!

I think this colour combination is also a fun one for spring; Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz…. with slightly more than a hint of Gold! Every element of this card is die cut with the coordinating dies, all except the Pear Pizzazz leaves which I have almost completely covered with flowers! Oops!

Thanks for checking out my blog today, and I hope to see your spring creations really soon!

Eastern Palace Suite | Hello

Cute Hello card using Eastern Beauty from Stampin' Up!

Like I mentioned yesterday, I have a whole week of projects this week featuring the Eastern Palace suite and exclusive bundles. You can find out more about these fabulous products HERE

Eastern Palace Bundle card kit from Stampin' Up!

I could not resist cutting that fabulous medallion / doily and backing it with Gold Glimmer paper! This card uses the brand new In Colour; Tranquil Tide… I have a whole video of In Colour goodness tomorrow… but for now just know that they are all stunning!

There are a heap of different combinations of these dies, giving you an endless variety of different medallions and doilies, flowers and decorative pieces. Some of the dies only cut the inside of the shape, while others cut the outside. To create this medallion, you also need the Layering Circle Framelits, because the largest of the dies used to create it only cuts the inside. I am seeing a version with a scalloped edge, and another in Glimmer paper…. might have to get back to the craft desk to make some more!

Cute Hello card using Eastern Beauty from Stampin' Up!

This card also uses a piece of the beautiful Eastern Palace Speciality Designer Series Paper. This paper features peacock inspired patterns and includes two pieces of Gold Foiled paper (hence the inspiration for the Gold on this card), and I have another card using even more Gold later in the week.

You can grab the Eastern Palace bundles over on my Webstore, or drop me a message to place your order. Don’t forget to use the Code Club Code for some exciting free goodies!

Floral Phrases Thank You Card

Floral Phrases Thank You Card using Stampin' Up! products

I recently cleared my craft room of stamps, dies, ribbons, punches, and anything else that is retiring at the end of May. I love this time of year…. the sun is shining (sometimes!), my craft room gets a bit of a spring clean, and we start to see prepare for the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. I won’t keep everything that I have that is retiring… I will be slowly getting rid of things probably during the summer but I will let you know when that happens!

So, I currently have a much reduced crafty stash…. which has done wonders for my creativity! Sometimes we feel we need this thing or that stamp to make great projects… but working with what is actually in your craft room rather than dreaming about this die or that stamp, I find anyway, yields much better results!

Purple Thank you card using Floral Phrases from Stampin' Up!

As I have removed all my retiring stamps from my shelf, I only have current and continuing products to play with…. and I am so excited for this stamp set to find it’s way into the new catalogue, along with a stunning pack of Designer Series paper to match it! This is Floral Phrases, and it has been seen in Night of Navy a LOT in the past 12 months…. just watch this space to see it in some fabulous new colours! Here I have stamped in Perfect plum.

Floral Phrases Thank You Card using Stampin' Up! products

This simple card is finished with a bow in linen thread and a trio of embellishments; two Enamel shapes – one in Perfect Plum, the other Elegant Eggplant – and a Rhinestone.

Simple and pretty, great for wedding thank yous I think!

Make It Monday | Faux Shadow Embossing Technique

Make It Monday Video Tutorial creating a fun thank you card using the faux shadow embossing technique with Thankful Thoughts and Playful Backgrounds from Stampin' Up!

Make It Monday

Hello! Welcome to another Make It Monday here at StampinByHannah! I have a great card project for you this week, along with a quick, simple and fun technique using heat embossing!

I found this card on Jennifer McGuires Blog a few weeks ago, and thought it looked simple enough! So I had a go….

Make It Monday Video Tutorial creating a fun thank you card using the faux shadow embossing technique with Thankful Thoughts and Playful Backgrounds from Stampin' Up!

The background on this card was almost a piece of Designer Series Paper… but with the Retiring List, lots of papers have already sold out and I didn’t want to share something you might not be able to get! So, instead I created by own DSP using the Playful Backgrounds stamp set, stamped in Emerald Envy and Early Espresso.

The sentiment is the main focus of this card. To create the Faux Shadow effect the sentiment is first stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder. Then, and this is where a stamp positioning tool like the Stamp-a-ma-jig is super helpful, you stamp again but offset it slightly, heat emboss again in a colour…. and as if by magic it looks super dimensional! Awesome!

Make It Monday Video Tutorial creating a fun thank you card using the faux shadow embossing technique with Thankful Thoughts and Playful Backgrounds from Stampin' Up!

The Sentiment is also on a die cut from the Stitched Shapes Framelit dies (I LOVE these!) to give it a little extra something!
I hope you love my card project today, don’t forget to check out the video for more details about the technique.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge | Jar of Love

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Just For You Card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you.  The products used are all available in the current  Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues.  Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

Our sketch this month was created by the fabulous Heidi Smith of FlutterbyHeidi…. didn’t she do a great job?!

No automatic alt text available.

I have to admit to being more than a little intimidated by this one… the number of elements on this card were slightly too much for my comfort zone! I cannot wait to see what the other girls have created with it though!

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Just For You Card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up!

Those rectangles at the top of the sketch just sang ‘jars’ to me…. so I played around with the Jar of Love stamp set for a while before this appeared. The jars took several turns during our journey… they were vellum… they were empty…. they were all the same…. but this is what I settled on.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Just For You Card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up!

I love this stamp set and have another card using it coming really soon…

That’s all from me today, but the other girls have some great cards for you, all using the same sketch, just click the NEXT button to hop onto the next blog in our hop… or if your a rebel then you can always ‘hop’ backwards!

Birthday Blossoms Happy Birthday Card

Floral Birthday Card using Birthday Blossoms from Stampin' Up!

I recently attended Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live in Amsterdam. I LOVE going to events with other demonstrators, we have so much fun, talking about stamps, ink and paper, sharing creative ideas, and we laugh… a LOT! One of the highlights of any Stampin’ Up! event is swapping. We all make a stack of card fronts or 3D items, and swap them with other demonstrators. It’s a great way of getting heaps of inspiration, meet new people and check out stamps you might not have bought yet! However, this time because I was chosen to be a Display Stamper (more on that soon!) I didn’t get time to make any swaps. But I still collected a few things from my Stampin’ Sisters who didn’t want me to go home empty handed (they are so sweet!). I also received two gifts from my Stampin’ Mamas, one of which I have CASE’d today.

Fabulous Floral Birthday Card inspired by Michelle Last using Birthday Blossoms from Stampin' Up!

Michelle Last gave each person in her team at the event (of which there were a LOT!) a card front featuring this fabulous stamp set. I have used this one relatively recently on my Design Team project for Stinkin’ Inkers, but I had to pull it out again to make my own version of Michelle’s card.

This is one of those cards that looks kinda messy as your making it, as the little flowers and leaves overlap… but that is where the punched flowers come it. Not only are they pretty, but they hide the mess behind!

Floral Birthday Card using Birthday Blossoms from Stampin' Up!

All the stamping on this card is in Basic Black Archival ink. Then before I punched out the large flowers with the coordinating Pansy Punch, I added a hint of colour with a sponge dauber and some Rich Razzleberry ink to tie in with the card base.

This card was finished with a layer of Basic Black card stock and a trio of Rhinestones. Before I leave you today I do have a confession to make about those Rhinestones… unfortunately they aren’t available at the moment (the current ones have sold out as part of the Retiring List!) but they will be back with us when the new Annual Catalogue launches on 1st June.

Global Design Project #083 | Sparkle with Rose Wonder

Global Design Project Just Because Card using Rose Wonder from Stampin' Up!

I hope you had a great Easter weekend, and while you might be heading back to work today I thought I would attempt to brighten your day with my ‘sparkly’ entry into this weeks Global Design Project theme Challenge.

I have subscribed to the GDP emails (it’s really easy, just hop over to their blog and pop your email into the ‘subscribe to our email’ box… what this means is that my Monday mornings at work are brightened by the arrival of a new challenge into my inbox somewhere around 10:30 ish. Which is lovely, and makes Monday’s much better! So, at break time yesterday morning I check my personal emails to find this lovely email in my inbox…. what’s this weeks challenge?! Sparkles…. right, ok! Now, normally ideas will form in my head pretty quickly, not this week. I got home at 5PM and I still had no ideas. All I had was that I wanted to use Shimmery White Card stock.

Global Design Project Just Because Card using Rose Wonder from Stampin' Up!

Shimmery White Card stock is super pretty, and sparkly… but trying to capture the sparkle in a photograph is tricky. I have created a video over on my Instagram to give you a closer look at the sparkle.

My favourite technique using Shimmery White card stock is watercolour. Because it is a bit thicker than Whisper White it is great for watercolour backgrounds. This one was super easy and quick to create, the trick is in the Aqua Painter and making sure there is plenty of water. I added a light wash of Melon Mambo to the card stock with the Aqua Painter, and dried it with a heat tool, before adding further light layers of colour to build this effect.

Global Design Project Just Because Card using Rose Wonder from Stampin' Up!

Once the card stock was dry, I added two stamped flowers from Rose Wonder in Melon Mambo and the sentiment in Basic Black. I played around with the die cut flower, initially it was in Shimmery White, then Basic Black, but I finally settled on Melon Mambo, and added two trios of Rhinestones to complete sparkly look.

Make It Monday | Quick and Easy Card using Swirly Bird

Make It Monday Card making Video Tutorial Birthday Card using Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up!

Make It Monday

Happy Bank holiday Monday! I hope you are all planning a lovely relaxing day, I am of course off to work today… the joys of working in Social Care! However, just because it is a bank holiday doesn’t mean that I haven’t made you a fun Make It Monday video, I hope you enjoy this one, I had loads of fun making it!

Make It Monday Card making Video Tutorial Birthday Card using Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up!

I was totally inspired by a sample I found on Pinterest, it used a totally different die set, but the idea of using swirly dies as flowers stuck. Swirly Bird currently comes bundles with the Swirly Scribbles dies (to save you 10%) but this bundle retires on the 31st May… you will still be able to get both the stamps and dies, but you won’t be getting that fabulous discount. You can check the Retiring list now, and don’t forget to use my Code Club Code for something extra special too!

Measurements:

Rose Red Card stock: half an A4 sheet, folded in half (21 x 14.8 cm, scored at 10.5 cm)

Whisper White: 10 x 14.3 cm

Make It Monday Video Tutorial card making quick and easy card using Swirly Bird from Stampin' Up! UK

The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from Butterfly Basics (another set I am excited to see carry over into the new Annual Catalogue!), I love the mixture of fonts on this one…. I am such a sucker for a good font… especially when it’s stamped in pink!

Male Birthday Card using Nailed It! from Stampin’ Up!

Male Birthday Card using Nailed It from Stampin' Up! UK

Ok, so last week (before I headed to Amsterdam) I sat in my crafty office looking around, thinking “there is a card around here somewhere that I haven’t blogged yet” but I couldn’t find it. I photograph everything I make, but I had nothing in my photo files, nothing lying around the office…. but I knew I had made something that I hadn’t shared with you guys yet. I packed my suitcase, tidied up, and sat down on the sofa to relax with James before I went away…. and there it was…. James’ birthday card! I had made it in such a hurry that I hadn’t photographed it, no wonder I couldn’t find it!

Male Birthday Card using Nailed It from Stampin' Up! UK

So, I thought I’d share it today instead. But I have another confession to make…. this stamp set (Nailed It!) is on the Retiring List…. and the matching dies have already sold out! Things move quickly off that list, so please, I would HATE for you to miss something that you love, go and check out what is left …. I’ll wait here while you pop an order in don’t worry……

Right, ordered, got your favourites? Great!

Male Birthday Card using Nailed It from Stampin' Up! UK

There is one thing on this card that is carrying forward into the new catalogue…. that fabulous embossing folder, don’t you just love it?! I am so pleased to have another 12 months to play with it. Actually I am so excited about this new catalogue, I cannot wait to show you all the goodies that are inside! (Although you can see it now if you join Stampin’ Up! with me, just ask me how!)

Global Design Project #082 | So In Love

Global Design Project #082 Just for you card using So In Love from Stampin' Up!

I am back in my craft room after spending 5 days in Amsterdam last week for Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live…. We had a great time and I cannot wait to show you the next Annual Catalogue (it is Awesome!!), but I am back, and seeing as it is Tuesday, it’s time for my entry for the Global Design Project.

I think this is a great sketch and had a great time making my card this week…. and it was a great kick start back into making things after spending 5 days talking about making things!

Global Design Project #082 Just for you card using So In Love from Stampin' Up!

I did start this project planning not to use purple…. but something happened and I was drawn to Rich Razzleberry! As the Retiring List was released yesterday I realised I hadn’t used enough of my Spring Summer purchases yet, and I love this stamp set… it’s called So In Love and it has the most beautiful set of dies that coordinate with it.

I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry onto Whisper White, and then added some pretty leaves in Sweet Sugarplum stamped off once. This was then die cut using the second smallest circle die from the Layering Circles Framelits.

Global Design Project #082 Just for you card using So In Love from Stampin' Up!The stripe of Sweet Sugarplum card stock on the left hand side of the card is stamped using two stamps from the same set also in Sweet Sugarplum for a lovely tone on tone effect.

I finished this card with a length of Linen Thread wrapped around the card and a double bow (also in Linen Thread) added with a glue dot.

Thanks for visiting my blog today, see you again soon!
