Sale-a-bration Spotlight How to make 3 cards with Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Sale a bration Spotlight Spingtime Foil Designer Series paper from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! Saleabration

Have you seen the new Sale-a-bration items that launched last week?! They are just lovely… my favourite is almost certainly the Springtime Foils Speciality Designer Series Paper (well, it is this week!)

How to use a Sponge Brayer with the Sale-a-bration Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

The Springtime Foils Speciality Designer Series paper features Gold, Silver and Copper /Rose Gold foiling on Very Vanilla Glossy paper. It is SO pretty! The first 2 cards I have coloured the paper, the first one I literally just smooshed the inkpad down on the paper… and made a great big mess on my desk! Saying that though, I LOVE the fact that I transferred a lot of ink, quickly, and that means that the coloured paper is almost the exact same shade as the card stock.

The second I made on camera, and used a sponge brayer to colour the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper….

The Dapper Denim card also uses another one of the Sale-a-bration items, Eclectic Expressions. I have a heap of cards planned with that one….

My favourite one of these cards though HAS to be the 3rd one… this is a card made with a lot of love… and time as I hand cut each of the flowers from the paper! The sentiment stamp is taken from Rose Wonder, and is heat embossed onto Vellum in Copper.

Classic wedding card using Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration

To get your hands on a pack of the Springtime Foils Speciality Designer Series Paper all you need to do is shop in my Stampin’ Up! webstore! Stampin’ Up! will ask you to add a FREE Sale-a-bration item when your order reaches £45 and wont let you check out until you have redeemed your Sale-a-bration items. International Blog Highlights Floral Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlights Petal Palette

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

One of the many great things about being a part of Stampin’ Up! is joining in international crafting events, getting to share and craft with people around the world! I LOVE taking part in these events, and am always blown away by the wonderful creations of everyone taking part.

Kylie always sets us a theme or challenge as part of the International Blog Highlights, and this month its ‘Favourite Spring Summer or Sale-a-bration Item!’ Last month I shared one of my favourite packs of Designer Series Paper; True Gentlemen, and this month I’m sharing my favourite Stamp Set; Petal Palette!

How to make a watercolour floral Congratulations card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

I have recently been playing with adding lots of layers onto my cards, and this card is the results of that. There are actually two videos of this card too, the first was my Watercolouring Techniques post from last week, and then the second was in my email yesterday!

Because of the number of elements I though I would break it down for you:

  • Dotted stamp from Petal Palette stamped repeatidy in Tranquil Tide without reinking
  • Loops of Gold Metallic Thread
  • Several die cuts from the Petals & More Thinlits dies, cut from a watercoloured piece of Shimmery White card stock.
  • A Gold Glimmer Paper die cut branch
  • Congratulations stamped in Tranquil Tide and die cut using the coordinating dies
  • A trio of Gold Metallic Enamel Shape Hearts

Petal Palette Congratulations Card using Stampin' Up! products

I love the texture that is created when you die cut from a watercoloured panel, particularly when those die cuts are then layered. So pretty!

Thanks so much for stopping by StampinByHannah today, and don’t forget to Vote for my card over at CraftyKylie.com!

Truly Tailored Birthday Card

Masculine Birthday Card using Truly Tailored from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Truly Tailored Birthday Card

I have blogged so many Birthday cards recently… and I hope that you don’t mind me sharing a couple more because I have two this week! This card I made for my father in law’s birthday at the end of January, with the Truly Tailored suite from this years Spring Summer catalogue. I have now lost count of the number of cards I have made with this particular piece of Designer Series paper (I shared another card with it on Saturday!)

How to make a masculine birthday card using Truly Tailored from Stampin' Up!

I have been having fun with card stock layers recently, and this card is no exception. The card base is Night of Navy, with a layer of Crushed Curry and then the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper. The Vellum square was added at the last minute to help the sentiment piece stand out as it was in great danger of getting lost against that busy paper!

The sentiment is modified a little… the stamp actually reads “Wishing you a Dapper Day” but I selectively inked with Stampin’ Write Markers in Night of Navy and Tranquil Tide and left off the word Day so that I could replace it with that fabulously glitter-y Birthday die cut!

Masculine Birthday Card using Truly Tailored from Stampin' Up!

The die cut is from the Happy Birthday Thinlit die from the Annual Catalogue, and it layered onto a pair of circles die cut using the Layering Circles dies.

Facebook Live Online Card Class Re-Run | February 2018

Heat Embossing with Amazing You from Stampin' Up! Facebook Live video

StampinByHannah Facebook Live Online Card Class Re-Run February 2018

Stampin' Up! Facebook Live StampinByHannah UK

Last week saw the 2nd Facebook Live Online Card Class of 2018. This month we used the Amazing You Stamp set and coordinating Celebrate You thinlits from Sale-a-bration. I am completely in LOVE with this stamp set, seriously I have used it SO much and I still do not feel like I’ve used nearly enough!

Amazing You from Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team CASE card

This card was totally inspired by my friend Emma and one of her Artisan Design Team Creations. I just LOVE the black details and pops of colour!

Ombre Die Cutting with Celebrate You from Stampin' Up!

This card was just a nightmare during class… I made the original cards weeks ago (because class was supposed to be on the 6th February, but I had to delay due to work stuff), and I think when I made it the first time around I used Multi-Purpose Adhesive sheets more! Oh well… I’m sure it’ll make a funny blooper during the class!

You can get the Amazing You Stamp set for FREE with a £45 during Sale-a-bration, and the Celebrate You Thinlits are FREE with a £90 order (although they will also be in the 2018-2019 Annual catalogue too!).

Stampin’ Up! Team Training and fun with a sketch…

How to make a quick and easy card using a sketch with StampinByHannah Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

StampinByHannah Team Training and fun with a sketch…

Stampin' Up! StampinByHannah Team Events

One of the many great joys of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is getting to share my creativity. I have a small (and growing) team of Demonstrators, and one of them recently asked if we could do some events. My wonderful team are well aware of my busy day job, and were happy when I suggested a Monthly Team Facebook Live event.

The first week of each month I will be going Live with them, sharing our Stampin’ Up! news, recognition and achievements and some crafting too! This month I was totally inspired by a card I had seen on Instagram… shame I can’t remember who made it, but really it was less about the card and more about the design of it. So, I created a batch of cards using the same design… and this sketch.StampinByHannah Team Training Sketch Facebook Live Stampin' Up! UK

So, this months card was a quick and simple one…

Quick and easy card using Amazing You from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration

This first card is the one I made with the team. I am a little bit obsessed with the Amazing die from the Celebrate You Thinlits cut from Glimmer Paper. This die is stunning, and FREE with a £90 order during Sale-a-bration. The Celebrate You thinlits will also be available in the Stampin’ Up! Annual catalogue, but surely it’s better to get them now for free that having to wait until June AND having to pay for them right?!

Now is a great time to consider joining the team… you can find all the information about joining Stampin’ Up! during Sale-a-bration HERE

How to make a quick and easy card using a sketch with StampinByHannah Independent Stampin' Up! DemonstratorThe second card uses the same piece of Designer Series Paper, from Naturally Eclectic, but the reverse side. I pulled the colours out of the paper to stamp the flowers and sentiment. The stamps are from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set, and then that die again from Celebrate You but this time cut from Gold Glimmer!

Quick and fun Facebook Live Masculine Card using Truly Tailored from Stampin' Up!

Then I though I would make a more masculine version using Truly Tailored. This Designer Series Paper is definitively my current fav… I just cannot get enough! I shared this card on my Facebook Page as a Facebook Live. Facebook Live is so much fun and I am hoping to get a few of these shorter Facebook Live’s in a month, plus my Facebook Live Online Card Class too (which I’ll be sharing here tomorrow!)… do let me know what you would like to see!

I had so much fun with this sketch, I would LOVE to see what you do with it too! Share you creations with me on my Facebook Page or in my VIP Facebook Group.

Techniques | How to create a dimensional sentiment with Celebrate You from Stampin’ Up!

Card Making Techniques Video Tutorial how to layer die cuts using Celebrate You from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration

StampinByHannah Techniques How to create a dimensional sentiment with Celebrate You from Stampin’ Up!

Stamping Techniques Series

I have a quick and fun Techniques video for you today. I am just LOVING the Celebrate You thinlits that are currently available for FREE during Sale-a-bration. Actually, before I forget Stampin’ Up! added some extra Sale-a-bration freebies this morning… you can check them out in my Online Store!

So, today’s technique… I have been  having heaps of fun stacking the die cuts from this thinlit set, and I thought I would share some of my top tips that might help you create some fabulously dimensional die cut sentiments!

Card Making Techniques Video Tutorial how to layer die cuts using Celebrate You from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration

This card is so cute! It’s a fun 4 x 4″ size, with a 3-3/4 x 3-3/4″ piece of Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper and a large die cut Stitched Circle in Vellum. Both the die cut and the Glitter Enamel Dot are strategically placed to cover the Mini Dimensionals I used to adhere the Vellum to the card. I LOVE adding Vellum with dimensionals, just because the Vellum is lifted slightly off the front of the card and it creates a lovely shadow effect.

Top Tips;

  • Use Multi-Purpose Adhesive Sheet on the back of your card stock before you start to die cut your sentiment
  • Die cut 3-5 pieces to give you a nice thick sentiment
  • Use your Silicone Mat to help you ensure that die cuts are lined up
  • It is easier to line up shorter words… so try a word like YOU before you head for something longer and swirly!

Card Making Techniques Video Tutorial how to layer die cuts using Celebrate You from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration

The ‘Thank’ is taken from one of the stamps in the All Things Thanks stamp set, and I selectively inked it with a Stampin’ Write Marker in Night of Navy to ensure that I just had the portion of the stamp I needed.

Watercolour Petal Palette Birthday Card

Pretty watercoloured birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Watercolour Petal Palette Birthday Card

February is such a busy month for birthdays… in fact I have a birthday card every Tuesday from now probably until the middle of March! This weeks card is one I sent to James’ great Nanny in the middle of January for her 97th birthday. Nanny is such a big part of our family, and she has been unwell recently, so a super special card was in order. I know that she LOVED it… and kept pointing it out to people (Note to self; put my contact details on the next one!)

How to make a classy watercolour birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

I shared part of this card over on my Instagram when I made it. I quite often share my creative process on my Insta-account, and you can find a heap of colour combinations on there too!

The flowers from Petal Palette are stamped in Sahara Sand ink onto Sahara Sand card stock for a tone on tone effect. Then I used the Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum to colour the flowers, and Bermuda Bay and Emerald Envy for the leaves. This flower would look AMAZING using a no-line colouring technique… think I might have to have another go with that!

Quick and fun watercolour birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is taken from Birthday Blossoms, and is just a classic and simple birthday, stamped in Early Espresso and die cut with the dies that coordinate with Petal Palette.

This card is finished with a die cut branch, some Emerald Envy Splatter and Paper Pierced detailing around the edge.

Techniques | How to create a hard lines watercolour background

How to created hard lines watercolour background with Stampin' Up! inks

StampinByHannah Techniques How to create a hard lines watercolour background

Some weeks working out which technique to share can be a struggle… but not this week! I made the card in this post last week, after I spotted a card on one of the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Facebook groups, and just had so much fun creating the background that I knew I HAD to share it!

Pretty Wedding Card using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

This card would be so lovely as a Wedding congratulations, or engagement card. I have used a sentiment from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set, mainly because it coordinates with the dies… but looking at it now a Congratulations sentiment would have worked better!

This is one of those cards with lots of layers… so I will give you a quick run down:

  • Watercoloured technique on Shimmery White card stock (check the video for all the details on this one!)
  • Die cut area using the Eclectic Layers dies. The whole watercoloured panel is popped up on Dimensionals, and I have added some of the die cut pieces back in (in an almost inlay die cut style) with some Gold Glimmer Paper pieces added in too
  • Two leaves punched from Champagne Foil with the Leaf Punch
  • A vellum Everyday Label (punched)
  • Flower die cut from the Eclectic Layers dies in Blushing Bride with a Clear Faceted Gem in the centre
  • Sentiment heat embossed in White, punched with the Classic Label Punch

The focus of this blog post isn’t that card though… it’s about the techniques right!

The background is created with a fun, and quick, watercolour technique that I am calling Hard Lines Watercolour (I’m sure someone else has a better name for it!). I LOVE doing this for a quick and easy background. It’s super pretty when you use a soft colour like Blushing Bride, but it can be really striking in a bolder colour too!

Fun and pretty Valentines card using Oh So Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

I think I have covered everything in the video… it’s really just about adding layers, and drying in between. Using a Heat Tool really helps as the ink drys before it has time to spread out, and therefore gives those lovely hard lines! I could totally play around with this for hours… different colours, different sized paint brushes, different amounts of water all create different effects but they are all so pretty.

The panel I created in this week’s Techniques Video has also been made into a card… and you can see that if you subscribe to my emails in my Stampin’ Inspiration Monday Video!

Inspire.Create.Challenges #011 | Hedgehugs

Quick and easy Hi There card using Hedgehugs from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenges #011 Hedgehugs

This weeks Inspire.Create.Challenges challenge is a fabulous sketch… I have waffled on before about how much I LOVE creating with a sketch, and I have previously shared my Sketch Top Tips with you too so this weeks card is simple and blog post short! Yes… it’s true… maybe!

Inspire.Create.Challenges Sketch Challenge 011

I have chosen to keep my card pretty simple for this challenge… and that isn’t unusual for me when I’m using a sketch. I have moved the circle a little but I have stuck fairly true to sketch this time. Life has been crazy busy recently with my day job, business, the impending end of James’ degree and all kinds of nightmares with house moving (which isn’t going well if your wondering!). So a simple card was really all I had time for!

How to make a cute card using Hedgehugs from Stampin' Up!

When I spotted the Hedgehugs stamp set in the Spring Summer catalogue I knew I HAD to have it. It’s just so cute! But I have really struggled to actually use it… So, when it came to making this card, I grabbed it as I knew that hedgehog would look super cute in a die cut circle!

Inspire.Create.Challenges 011 sketch challenge featuring Hedgehugs from Stampin' Up!

The hedgehog is stamped in Early Espresso ink, and I used Stampin’ Write Markers in Berry Burst and Powder Pink to add a little colour. I die cut him out after I stamped, and then added the sentiment after to ensure good placement.

I’ve finished this card with a strip of Wood Textures’ Designer Series Paper (I love this print, don’t you?) and a spritz of Early Espresso ink.

I would LOVE to see your creations with this sketch… why not share over at Inspire.Create.Challenges!

Team Swap Cards (and a bonus video!)

How to use a blender pen with Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Team Swap Cards (and a bonus video!)

Yesterday I shared the card I made for a recent Team Swap. Well today, I have the cards I received to share!

Swaps are just one fabulous part of being a part of Stampin’ Up! the team I am a part of just LOVE to swap. Swapping is traditionally part of in-person events, but as we are spread across the country, getting us all together is a challenge (and one we tend to reserve for Stampin’ Up! organised events!)… so, we do postal swaps instead. The idea is the same though, we make a batch of projects (usually cards because they are easy to post!), stick them in the mail, and get a bunch of inspiration back! I has such an exciting week last week as they all started to arrive!

We didn’t have a set theme for our swap (other than it had to use products from the Spring Summer catalogue!) but there is definitely a trend here…

This pretty card was made by Debbie Toner… this paper hasn’t found its way to my craft room yet, but it might have to now!

Pootlers Spring Summer Team Swaps using Painted with Love from Stampin' Up!

The second card was made by Vicky Thompson… I haven’t got this paper either! Think I’m going to have to put another order in soon!

Pootlers Spring Summer Team Swaps using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The next card was created by Laurie Jennings… I love that she’s added some sparkle with some Wink of Stella, and don’t get me started in that embossing folder! How did I miss that?!

Pootlers Spring Summer Team Swaps using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The final card is this lovely creation by Anna Sposato. Anna is one of my Inspire.Create.Challenge buddies and its lovely to have an Anna original in my craft room! She’s also used the Petal Palette suite, and Brusho! Love it!

Pootlers Spring Summer Team Swaps using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up! I cannot wait for our next swapping opportunity, which will be at Stampin’ Up! OnStage in April! eeek… I’m excited already!
