Make It Monday how to make a tag using Beautiful Promenade from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Petal Promenade Tag Card

Make It Monday banner

Before I get to the card today I just need to remind you of a couple of things:

Make It Monday!

With that said, I have a fabulous Petal Promenade card for you today, using the coordinating Beautiful Layers Thinlits

Make It Monday with Petal Promenade from Stampin' Up! Pretty Valentines Card

One of the things that this stamp and die bundle encourages you to do is play with die cuts and stamped layers, and that it totally what I have done here. The Beautiful Layers dies combine beautifully with the Stitched Shapes Squares for a really fun look, plus the colours from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper just made for really pretty projects. I am little bit in love with this colour combination too…

The Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper pack is part of that fabulous Buy 3 Get 1 Free offer I mentioned at the top of this post. You have 10 fabulous packs of Designer Series Paper to choose from, and you can choose any combination of those 4 so that 4 different packs, or 4 of the same. Totally up to you!

This card is a quick, but complex looking build, with stamping on the Designer Series Paper, and a series of die cuts before a little more stamping and a trio of Basic Adhesive-Backed sequins to finish.

The tag is one of those elements that looks really tricky, but in reality is simple to do. There are two ways of making it; you could measure the width of the die and cut a piece of card stock accordingly before die cutting each end. Or you can follow my method; die cut the tag end from the middle of a sheet of scrap card stock, line up your layers and work out where the other end should be, then die cut the tag end again before snipping out the piece using Paper snips or a Stampin’ Trimmer

Beautiful layers I Love You card using Petal Promenade from Stampin' Up!

Either way you end up with this really lovely element for the front of your card, or what about just cutting one end and using it as a tag on your next gift?!

Go For Greece | Hello Floral Frames!

Pretty Hello card using Floral Frames from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Go For Greece Hello Floral Frames!

Go for Greece Blog Hop

I have already shared one card using the Floral Frames bundle today but seeing as I made these two one after the other, it just seemed right to share them together too! How pretty is this stamp set! It might just be one of the prettiest in the catalogue!

Floral Frames Hello card with die cutting and embossing using Stampin' Up! products

I don’t very often combine products. But I have today because, I die cut and layered everything up and then thought the card looked a little plain. I almost always assemble the card before I glue everything down, just to check that I haven’t missed something… so glad I did today because I am running really low on Soft Sea Foam card stock, really need to add that to my next order! So, because I decided the card was a little plain, I added some dry embossing to the background using the Lovely Floral Dynamic Embossing Folder, and then covered most of it with this fabulous frame!

Fun die cut and embossed Hello card using Floral Frames from Stampin' Up!

The frame, and the leaves are both designed to be used with the new Stampin’ Up! Big Shot Embossing Mats. I’ve done a couple of videos using these, and I LOVE them!

To get this effect…

  1. Die cut the frame and the leaves using a standard sandwich (Magnetic Platform, Cutting Mat, card stock, die, Cutting mat), making sure to washi-tape the die to the card stock so that the card stock doesn’t fall out before the next step.
  2. Then run the dies back through the big shot, using the thin blue embossing mat (Big Shot platform, Cutting mat, Die, Card stock, Blue embossing mat, white Impressions pad). This then gives a subtle embossing onto die cuts for an extra pretty touch!

To finish the card I added a couple of the flowers from the stamp set in Poppy Parade, and stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler, before popping it all up on lots of dimensionals!

Thanks for joining me today, do check out these other talented ladies on the hop… and I hope to see you again soon

Fun with Floral Frames from Stampin’ Up!

Fun with the Floral Frames stamp set from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Fun with Floral Frames from Stampin’ Up!

I have two cards for you today… one now and one a little later for a fun blog hop with the ladies from the Go for Greece group. Both cards however, use the same stamp set! Floral Frames. I was super lucky to receive this stamp and die bundle as a team gift a few weeks ago, and I’ve only just got around to getting it inky! But, it’s so pretty, I know that these wont be the only cards that get made with it!

Fabulous Floral Best Wishes card using Garden Impressions and Floral Frames from Stampin' Up!

The Floral Frames stamp set comes as part of a fabulous bundle with the Foliage Frames Framelits (say that 3 times fast!)… bundles are great! Not only can you be completely sure that your stamps and dies work together for coordinated projects and reduce the need for fussy cutting, but also, they save you 10% rather than buying the stamps and dies separately. The stamps also pair beautifully with several of the new packs of Designer Series Paper. Here, I’ve used the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper…. but I think that this would look lovely using the Petal Promenade paper too. Both packs are, of course, currently in the Stampin’ Up! Buy 3 Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper sale too!

Best wishes card using Floral Frames from Stampin' Up!

The colours here are Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sea Foam. The leaf stamp behind the label is so cute, and I have a fun tip for you…

Top Tip…

To ensure I stamped them in the right place, I placed the label where I wanted it and drew around it with a pencil. Then, stamped the leaves, waited for the ink to dry (which really doesn’t take very long) and used a white eraser to remove the pencil marks.

I reached into my Embellishment storage to finish this card, and grabbed a trio of these Melon Mambo Glitter Enamel Dots.

Make It Monday | Making a card using the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper

Pretty butterfly thank you card with lots of lovely sequins using the Abstract Impressions Bundle from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Making a card using the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper

Make It Monday banner

Hello! This week’s Make It Monday is a super sparkly Thank You card… that I would LOVE to send out to someone! I have a mountain of cards in my craft room and I am starting to sort them into donation piles for charities, as well as family and friends (back to sorting and organising… one day with might sell this flat and I don’t want to have to move them all to be honest!). One of the ways I am looking at thinning out my made projects pile is to gift them to my wonderful customers! So, if you place an order with me this week, you might well just find this card in your customer thank you pack at the end of the month!

Fabulous sparkly butterfly thank you card using Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

I am totally loving the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. It’s a pretty mix of painterly flowers and brush strokes with a fantastic colour palette! I can certainly see a full class coming with this suite, just so many cards I just HAVE to make! The Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper is currently available as part of the Stampin’ Up! Buy 3 Get 1 FREE Designer Series Paper sale too… Awesome!

Video Tutorial…

I use pretty standard measurements on most of my cards, and you can find those HERE!

There are lots of sparkles on this card… not only is that fabulous butterfly from the Springtime Impressions dies cut from a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper, but I have also added a handful of sequins too! There are several different packs of sequins in the Annual catalogue this year… 2 sequin assortments; iridescent (which I have used here) and metallics, and then there are the Basic Adhesive-Backed sequins too which are great if your a little heavy handed with the liquid glue (which might just be me!)

How to make a pretty sparkly thank you card using the butterfly die from Springtime Impressions from Stampin' Up!

I have a bit of a thing at the moment for a hand cut sentiment, it just adds a hint of the hand-made. Here the sentiment is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto a piece of Basic Black card stock, just for a little extra POP! Then, to finish there is a spritz of Night of Navy (because I have spritzed a card for ages!) and a few loops of Silver Metallic Thread too!

Which is your favourite Designer Series Paper at the moment?

International Blog Highlight | Travel with Bike Ride from Stampin’ Up!

International Blog Highlight Travel themed Congratulations Card using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlight Travel with Bike Ride from Stampin’ Up!

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

Kylie’s challenge for this month was to create a Travel theme’d project… now, while this makes sense as many Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators gather for a trip to Alaska, it proved tricky for me. I really don’t have many stamp sets with a travel theme! There is a whole suite of goodies aimed at Travel Theme’d projects in this years Annual catalogue… but it hasn’t found it way into my craft room just yet. So, I stood, and stared at my stamp shelves for a while… before I realised I have the perfect travel theme’d set… Bike Ride!

Bike Ride is one of those really cool stamp sets that layers together to make something really great… and works perfectly with the Stamparatus! Here the bike has been stamped in a combination of Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Memento Black.

Because bicycles don’t usually float, I needed to find a why of grounding it on the card… and instead of placing it at the bottom, or adding a shadow with a Blends Marker… I decided to use the Petal Pair’s Embossing Folder. I LOVE the look of this, but it is a little tricky, and has creased the card stock… but I don’t think you can tell too badly!

Fun Congratulations card with a bicycle using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is taken from the Hostess Exclusive Stamp Set Hand-Delivered… I LOVE this font SO much! and the card is completed with a trio of Self-Adhesive Sequins (which I am a little addicted to!)

What’s you favourite finishing touch?

Lift Me Up Birthday Card using Embossing Paste

How to use embossing paste to create a fun Hot Air Balloon birthday card using Stampin' Up! products

StampinByHannah Lift Me Up Birthday Card using Embossing Paste

I LOVE a bit of embossing paste as much as the next person, but I do have to admit that my pot has been a little (by this I mean a LOT) neglected over recent months…. to the point where when I opened it I thought it has completely dried out… and after I made this card I decided that it had got to the end of it’s life and that it needed to go! However… I will be re-purchasing because the effects you can create with it are fabulous!

Hot Air Balloon Birthday card using Lift Me Up from Stampin' Up!

So, using my rather dry Stampin’ Up! Embossing Paste, and the cloud mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks, did allow me to create some extra texture as the dry paste holds a shape better than when it’s really wet. It also dried a LOT quicker… not that I would recommend using dry embossing paste of course! It’s MUCH easier to spread when it’s fresh… it’s also much easier to clean off your mask and palette knife!

Fun Birthday Card using Embossing Paste and Lift me up from Stampin' Up!

Because the background is so busy, I’ve kept the rest of the card simple, with a die cut balloon and sentiment from Lift Me Up! die cut using the coordinating Up and Away Thinlits.

How to create a pretty vintage floral card using Petal Promenade from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Pretty Vintage Card using Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Yes, a blog post on a Saturday… and a video too! A little while ago the lovely Janice Thomson from the team suggested that we do a video hop again (we did one around this time last year, and it was SO much fun….) and with the current Designer Series Paper special, the time seemed right to do it in July!

Check out my video below, but be sure to check out the other videos too… you can find them all on my YouTube channel in the Playlist section How to use Designer Series Paper on a card using Petal Promenade from Stampin' Up!

I am totally in LOVE with the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper… I actually used it on a gift bag yesterday too! This pack of patterned paper is a beautiful mix of photo-real florals and very pretty marble effects…. and while it’s not my usual style I am totally obsessed and will certainly be using the Buy 3 Get 1 FREE Designer Series Paper Sale to stock up on some more!

My other favourite part of this card is that Die cut Mossy Meadow doily! Oh my goodness it’s pretty, and just about the perfect accent piece for every. single. card. I will probably ever make! I have heaps of inspiration coming to you using this paper and the Beautiful Promenade Bundle during July as I have chosen it for my Suite of the Month… more coming about that on Monday!
