StampinByHannah Stampin’ Up! Colour Revamp What do you need to know…
Ok, so I’ve mentioned it a couple of times, and I know that other people have been sharing about the changes that are coming to the Stampin’ Up! ink range in the new Annual catalogue… so I thought it about time that I told you all the news! I am hoping to have a video with this information coming sooon, but at the time of me writing this I’m not completely sure when I’m going to get chance to get it filmed!
What is the Colour Revamp?
Stampin’ Up! refresh their ink colours approximately once every 5 years. This year, to coincide with the Stampin’ Up! 30th Anniversary celebrations they have chosen to completely revamp the ink line, adjust the ink formulation and re-design the ink pads too. There’s LOTS to talk about…. so lets get to it!
So what ink colours are changing?
Ok, so currently there are 48 Stampin’ Up! ink colours; 38 standard colours and 10 In-Colours. Going forward there are 50 ink colours; 40 standard colours and 10 In-Colours.
In order to keep the colour selection fresh and on trend Stampin’ Up! have looked at the current offering, and have decided to retire 13 of the current colours. However, many of these are being replaced with similar colours… but colours that are fresher, and that fit better within the rest of the colour collection. They are also moving some of the colours around within the 4 colour families and adjusting the Neutrals to include a couple of “colours”… moving Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Basic Black into a family of their own, known as The Basics. There are 10 brand new colours coming, and 6 previous In-Colours returning too!
Which Colours are Retiring?
Like I said, there are 10 colours that are Retiring… plus the 2016-2018 In Colours which were due to Retiring this June anyway, we are saying Goodbye to 15 colours. These are:
These colours are all on the Retiring List, but stocks of ink pads, re-inkers and card stock are guaranteed until the 7th May… so stock up NOW before they go into While Stocks Last and most probably sell out!
What about the Returning Colours…
So, you guys will be more than aware of the 2 yearly In-Colour cycle… Each year Stampin’ Up! release 5 brand new In-Colours, which stay with us for 2 years before they retire. Well this year, some of them are coming back!
I am SO excited to see Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron back! … and have you spotted the shortest retiring ever…. Yes Flirty Flamingo with retire and an In-Colour on the 31st May… and the Return as part of the standard ink collection on the 1st June!
and the new colours?
There are 10 brand new colours coming in June… and they are GORGEOUS!
There are also 5 fabulous new In-Colours which I will formally introduce to you really soon…. but you’ll get a sneaky peak here in the complete colour chart below!
But you said there was more!
Yes I did…. and there is!
So as well as introducing brand new ink colours Stampin’ Up! have also re-formulated the actual ink! Have you ever inked up your stamps and found that the ink had bubbled on the rubber and caused you to get a patchy image?! I know I have …. but that is now a thing of the past! Stampin’ Up!’s re-formulated ink includes a de-foaming agent so that should no longer occur and you should get perfect stamped images every single time!
What is even better is that you can use the new ink onto your old ink pads…. so you can continue to use what you already have, but when you replace your re-inker they’ll get even better!
So exciting!
And there is more too….
The final part of the Stampin’ Up! Colour Revamp…. completely re-designed ink pads!
This is because Stampin’ Up! manufacture their own ink pads and ink, and the moulds that they use to create the ink pads are approaching 15 years old! The number of ink pads that they have made must be astronomical…. but they are now coming to the end of their life, and need replacing. Stampin’ Up! have therefore made the decision to completely re-design the ink pads, making them flatter, easier to store and stack, and easier to open! Like I mentioned at the top of this post, I will do a video very soon to showcase these properly…. but with the new job (as this post goes live I start tomorrow!) and having had to wait for the ink pads to be delivered… I expect that this will be part of my Facebook Live next Sunday!
