because no Festival is complete without some Gold (buttons)

Well, its Thursday, which means we’re nearly at the end of our Festival of Trees week here at StampinByHannah, I still love this stamp set. I’ve made classic and modern cards, and used both traditional and non-traditional colour schemes.

Today we return to the traditional looking Christmas Card – with Garden Green, Real Red, and …. Gold!!!

Stampin' Up! UK Festival of Trees Gold Buttons

This card uses a card base of Garden Green, with the tree also stamped in the same ink. The DSP is from the Trim The Tree Designer Series Paper Stack (awesome papers, great value for money!), in Sahara Sand. I’ve then added some of the Real Red Woven Ribbon (super pretty) and  a few of the Gold Basic Metal Buttons!

So simple, but super effective!

Check back tomorrow for our last day of our Festival of Trees week!

Forest of Festival of Trees

Continuing our journey with the Festival of Trees, today I have a more technique based card.

Stampin' Up! UK Festival of Trees gradient stamping

This card is a Mossy Meadow card base, with Very Vanilla card front. The Trees are triple stamped – first stamped in Pear Pizzazz, the Old Olive and finally Mossy Meadow – but each time some ink is removed from the stamp before stamping, using a microfibre cloth. This means that the Pear Pizzazz layer is the whole tree, then ink up the stamp with Old Olive – rubbing the very edges of the stamp with your cloth to remove the ink from the tips of the leaves, then stamp. As Festival of Trees is a Photopolymer stamp set this is super easy, but you could use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to make this even easier. Then ink the stamp again with Mossy Meadow this time, removing all the ink except the very middle / trunk of the tree. This technique creates a lovely gradated image.

The sentiment on this card is from White Christmas

Dont forget to check back again tomorrow for another Festival of Trees project

All is Calm for the Festival of Trees (week)

Welcome to day 2 of our Festival of Trees week.

Today, I thought we’d have a non-traditional colour scheme – Blue, green and grey (Pear Pizzazz, Lost Lagoon, and Smokey Slate)

Stampin' Up! UK Festival of Trees All is Calm

This DSP, All is Calm, is diffinately I massive hit from this years Autumn Winter Catalogue, its a lovely blend of muted colours and that gorgeous Lost Lagoon (LOVE IT!!!)

This card uses a Pear Pizzazz card base, with Whisper White piece and that lovely DSP. The Tree is stamped in Pear Pizzazz with Lost Lagoon dots, and jewel highlights. That lovely ribbon is also from the Autumn Winter Catalogue, and can be found on page 22 (with that DSP!)

hope you like this cute card

See you again tomorrow for more Trees!

12 Tags of Christmas! Festival Style!

Well, we’re really getting into it now! 11 weeks to go!

This tag is uses the Festival of Trees Stamp set – well, it is Festival of Trees week here @ StampinByHannah!

Stampin' Up! UK Festival of Trees

I made these tree using 3 of the stamps from the set – the solid tree shape, and the two complimenting stamps; the tree and the baubles! Made in two colours – traditional; using Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive and Real Red, and a non-traditional colour way of Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon and Smokey Slate!

I love these tags. The tags themselves are super simpe – 2×6″ Very Vanilla cardstock, punched at one end using the Scallop Tag Topper punch.

Easy Peasy!

Thanks for reading,

see you again tomorrow for more ideas using the Festival of Trees!

Festival of Trees Week!!!!!

Well Hello there! Welcome to StampinByHannah, and to Festival of Trees Week!

I love this stamp set! I have already made so many cards with it, used it in workshops, and had a go a little viral on Pinterest! Yay! and seeing as its Stampin’ Up! European Convention this coming Weekend (and I cant go 🙁 ) I thought I would celebrate blog style – with an awesome week of awesome cards!

Stampin' Up! UK Festival of Trees Under the Tree

I love this colour combination – its just so festive! The cardbase is in Garden Green, with a card front using the Under the Tree Speciality Paper (great for boxes with the gift box punch board to!) The Tree is stamped in Garden Green on one of the builder tags from the Under The Tree Tag a Bag Accessory Kit (which is also where the other tag and the bakers twine is from!).

That super cute sentiment is from a limited edition stamp set, available until the end of the month, if you place an order (or host a party) of over £200. I love it, it has a collection of lovely holiday sentiments all in this lovely handwritten font

Fancy Fold Friday – Zig Zag Fold

Hello! Welcome to the second in my series of ‘fancy fold’ cards!

This week, I’ve made a Zig-Zag fold card, using Real Red and Flashback DSP.

I do love designer series paper – I love patterns, and colour, and really I’m just a stationary geek! (yes, I love staples and paperclips too!), but I really struggle to use DSP on cards! I love using it for scrapbooking, I use masses of 12×12 papers on layouts and in Project Life, but on cards, I get a little stuck!

Stampin' Up! UK Zig Zag fold card Flashback DSP

This card, although it looks complex, is really simple to create. The cardbase is cut at 8 1/4 by 5 3/4, then (and this is the only complicated bit!) you need to line one corner of the cardstock up with the top corner of your papertrimmer, then line the corner diagonally opposite to it up with the 4″ line on your trimmer – this will create the slopping angle to the top of the card. The card is then embellished with the Flashback DSP cut the same as the cardbase, before trimming 1/2″ from the bottom edge, and cut into 2 1/2″ strips.

FFF - zig zag 1

The card was then completed with three punched flowers, stamped using the Something to Say stamp set, and punched using the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack. The sentiment is only available until the end of October, place an order (or host a party) of over £200, and earn this stamp set for FREE! its so super cute, and has some lovely sentiments for Christmas and Halloween crafting.

See you again next week

100 Posts!

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah

Is this your first visit? If it is there are lots of ideas and inspiration already here, this is my 100th blog post!

I cant believe it! when I started StampinByHannah in June of this year I never expected to reach 100 posts! or even 1000 blog views! (we I reached last month, thank you all very much!)

So, for my 100th I thought I would give you something a little different.

I thought I would tell you a little more about me, and what I do, why I’m here, and what I can offer!

Stampin Up!

So, I’m Hannah and I run two websites, this one StampinByHannah, and The Handmade Weddings – where I produce and sell handmade wedding stationary.

When I’m not in my craft room, I’m probably at my day job (or night job as it appears to be at the moment) working as a nurse in a nursing home. It’s a job I love (not as much as crafting and being creative, but I do love it!)

I have a cat, Freda, and get married to James next August! So, I’ve now got just less than 10 months to finish planning, loose another stone in weight, make the cakes, flower arrangements, and of course all the wedding stationary!

Stampin' Up! UK Pick a pack of Paper DSP Designer Series Paper

I adore working with Stampin’ Up! I use their products all the time, not just for making things for the blog, but also cards for family and friends (and customers!), as well as for my Wedding Stationary business. The quality is just exceptional!

Over the next few weeks and months I have some awesome projects and ideas for you; last week we started a series on a Friday for special folds – Fancy Fold Friday, and this week I launched the 12 Tags of Christmas – a series coming to you each and every Monday from now until Christmas week! Next week is a busy week here on the blog – to celebrate the success of the Festival of Trees stamp set (its been the top seller for Stampin’ Up! UK for the past few weeks, I love it, and I’ve had a LOT of re-pins on Pinterest for my Festival of Trees projects) I am dedicating the whole week to Festival of Trees! thats 5 cards and 1 tag, all featuring the Festival of Trees!

I’m planning on some new classes launching in the new year, looking at cards and scrapbooking, in particular Project Life by Stampin’ Up! which is just awesome!

And I have lots of other exciting things coming really soon!

So, thank you all so much for reading and subscribing!

I now also have a monthly newsletter, e-mailed to your inbox at the beginning of each month! to subscribe to that drop me a message HERE!
