Indescribable Thanks…

This card has been sat on my desk for a few weeks now. This happens sometimes, I make a batch of cards, and some of them get blogged about immediately and others have to wait. This card was actually intended for a Saturday Challenge post, as it was actually based on a cards sketch. But the dates past and I forgot to upload it! silly me!

But, it still gets its spot on the blog!

Stampin' Up! UK Indescribable gift thank you

This card is actually no longer in my possession either, as it also made it to the top of the Thank You card pile! Sometimes I batch make customer Thank You cards and sometimes I just use the cards I have made as blog samples – either way the cards you receive will have usually either been on the blog or are scheduled to be!

I also did something I don’t usually do with this card – I used 3 stamp sets! yes, 3! I try to keep my cards to 1 or 2 stamp sets, otherwise you are going to have to spend a whole heap of money to make the cards I make – and I don’t like that idea! So, I try to keep my blog projects to minimal supplies, and give you more ideas to use the items you buy over and over – I’d rather you got more for your money!

So, the 3 stamp sets I’ve used here are: Big News (for the thank you), Indescribable Gift (for the gorgeous flower blossom) and Sophisticated Serifs (for that great rectangle stamp!).

However, I only used two colours – Lost Lagoon and Melon Mambo – varying the shade of the colour by either stamping off once, or (like around the Whisper White panel) using Vellum.

Stampin’ Up! UK Independent Demonstrator

Stampin’ Up! event swaps!

As a demonstrator I get the opportunity to go to Stampin’ Up! events, including Regional training events, and Convention, as well as more local team training and special events like the one I attended this week (more one what I saw / heard / etc. coming in the new year!). There are many great aspects to being a demo, not only the events, discounts, and special offers, but the team support and inspiration.

Stampin' Up! UK Sale-a-bration 2015

One of the ways we share inspiration is by making swaps. Many demo’s make items, card fronts and small 3D projects, for all Stampin’ Up! events; including team training. This week was my first ever Stampin’ Up! event; although there has been Convention since I joined I was unable to attend due to work commitments. So this was my first Stampin’ Up! event, and my first attempt at Swaps!

I decided to keep it simple, and use two stamp sets; one I know a lot of demos have, and one they may have overlooked (but I love!); Gorgeous Grunge and Bouquet Toss.

In addition to my swaps, I also made a special card for my upline, just as a special Thank You for the support I have received in my first 6 months as a demo. Thanks Sam!

Right, Card!

Stampin' Up! UK I like you Stampin Write Markers

This card uses a Crushed Curry Card base, and a piece of Colour Me Autumn DSP (the colours in this pack of DSP are gorgeous – Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Old Olive! <3). I stamped the DSP with Crushed Curry ink using the Hello Darling Stamp set (one of the ones I chose as my freebies!).

I coloured the Flower stamp with my Stampin’ Write Markers in Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Old Olive, before stamping onto the DSP

The sentiment for this card comes from the FREE good greetings stamp set, stamped in Mossy Meadow onto the same DSP, and punched out using the Modern Label Punch, layered with two other punched pieces

I didn’t think Crushed Curry was really going to be my colour! Boy, was I Wrong!

Just because …… Who doesn’t love petals!

Our card for today uses the Petite Petals stamps and punch to give a fully coordinated look

The original card uses the new 2014-2016 In Colours: Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, and Hello Honey, along with Crumb Cake from the Neutrals collection, I changed it a little for the video, using Brights collection colours; Real Red, Bermuda Bay, and Daffodil Delight.

The card uses Whisper White cardstock, cut to 10 x5 inches, and scored at 5 inches, but you could totally adjust that to meet your own needs (and what you might have in your crafty stash)

Don’t forget if you like anything used on this card, you can check out my store at: stampinbyhannah.stampinup.net

Thank you

SAM_0337

I love sending little thank you messages to people, and a simple thank you card is quick to put together.

I’ve used my Spellbinders dies here, Floral Ribbon threader and curved matting basics A, along with a Papermania Capsule collection in liquorice, sadly I believe this has been since discontinued. I am currently working my way through some of my crafty stash, using up older products before an exciting order of new shiny things arrives next week (hint hint).SAM_0338

The flowers on this card is super simple to put together too, a couple of 1 inch circles punched from white card stock, layered with some patterned paper flowers die cut using the same Spellbinders die set, crumpled and finished with a bit of bling.

I’ve also tried some paper piecing on this card. I dont use this technique very often, generally because Its a big of a faff if you (like me) dont have a guide or piecing ruler. I line up my normal ruler and piece and half centimetre intervals, the problem with this is that sometimes I go off at a bit of an odd angle, but hey its only card!
