StampinByHannah Techniques How to colour your Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper

Stamping Techniques Series

I am completely in love with the Petal Palette Suite in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer catalogue. I mean, what is not to love about floral stamps, sentiments in a pretty font and Black and White Designer Series Paper?! Its SO pretty, and I just cannot put it away! I have been using it a lot recently, and I hate to tell you, I’m not sick of it yet and there is more coming next week too…

Make It Monday How to use a Sponge Brayer with Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

The star of the show here is definitely the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. This pack is purely Black and White and features a collection of floral and leafy prints. This makes it the perfect candidate for colouring. I have previously used Watercolour Pencils and a Blender pen, and there are heaps of Blends examples floating around Pinterest, but here I have chosen to use a Sponge Brayer.

Using a Basic Black card base always causes the question; Where do you write? Do you decorate the inside of your cards?

Well, here I have added a piece of Whisper White card stock on the inside, with a spot of stamping using the coordinating Petal Palette Stamp set and a hint of colour added with a sponge.

Thoughtful Thursday | How to make a Gratitude Journal

Thoughtful Thursday Gratitude Journal using Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper and Lovely Inside & Out from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday How to make a Gratitude Journal

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

I have been mulling over this series for a while. I started it with a plan, and then I sort of bottled it a bit… but I have decided that it is time to start the series I intended. So, I started 2018 with a plan to use Mindfulness to help conquer my anxiety, and the first few weeks were great… but then I sort of fell of the wagon. So here we are at the 1st of February, and I am starting again (shall we call January a trail run?).

How to make a Gratitude Journal using Designer Series Paper with Naturally Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

One of my Mindfulness Practices is keeping a Gratitude Journal, which sounds really American and cheesy as a Brit… but it really really helps! When I do this on a regular basis I find that I manage to contain my negative thoughts and replace them with positive self-talk. This is SO powerful and prevents me from spiralling into a vortex of Anxiety and panic attacks about silly things.

I have recently been using the GLAD style of Gratitude; where GLAD stands for Grateful, Learned, Accomplishment and Delight. So each day I write down an event or feeling that matches each one of those prompts.

Thoughtful Thursday Designer Series Paper Notebook using Naturally Eclectic from Stampin' Up!

This journal is super easy to put together; as really its just copy paper and a piece of Designer Series Paper. These would make a really cute gift for a party hostess or a new team member too.

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper; Naturally Eclectic – 21.5 x 14.8 cm

5 sheets of copy paper cut in half

Directions:

  1. Fold each half sheet of copy paper in half. I didn’t bother to score first..
  2. Fold the Designer Series Paper in half
  3. Layer each piece of copy paper on top of each other, and then put this pile into the Designer Series Paper cover
  4. I have stapled mine together, but you could sew it (I have one of those long arm staplers for when I’m making wedding stationary… so I put it to use here!)

How to make a note book using Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

I added some extra decoration to the front cover with some layers of card stock and stamping using the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set. To keep it coordinated I picked out the colours in the Designer Series Paper; Night of Navy, Lemon Lime Twist, Soft Sky and Tranquil Tide. The stamp set has a collection of mix and match sentiments and I thought this one would be nice for the front of my journal.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope to see you again soon

Petal Palette Birthday Card

How to create a fabulous floral Birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Petal Palette Birthday Card

January is a busy Birthday month in my family, with mine at the start of the month and then James’ dad and great Nannie, as well as my Aunt… I feel like all I have made recently are Birthday cards! Today’s card is one I made for my Aunt, my mum’s sister. I wanted something a bit special, but that would go nicely through the post as she lives in London, as we don’t get to see her as often as we would like to.

How to create a fabulous floral Birthday card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

My crafty mojo hasn’t been it’s usual self this month either (LOTS going on around here… and it’s knocked me a bit), so I turned to the Global Design Project for inspiration. Which is where I spotted THIS fabulous card by Cathy Collins, and I knew I just HAD to CASe it! Cathy uses Stampin’ Blends to colour her card, but as I only have a limited collection of Blends at the moment I reached for my Stampin’ Write Markers instead.

I stamped several of the floral images from Petal Palette using Basic Black Archival Ink and then used Stampin’ Write Markers to add colour. I love the slightly messy look of this style of colouring, where you just leave a hint of colour and a bit of white space. Two of the images from this stamp set coordinate with dies in the coordinating Petals and More Thinlits pack (which is also available bundled with the stamp set to save you 10%!).

I am LOVING my markers at the moment and have a fabulous Stampin’ Write Marker Club too. The club allows you to collect all 38 markers over the next 4 months along with a handy case to store them in too! You can join in HERE!

Bright and fun Floral Birthday card with Petal Palette from Stampin' Up!

The card is finished with a sentiment taken from Happy Birthday Gorgeous heat embossed in White, a great big bow of linen thread and a trio of Gold Facet gems.

Make It Monday | Quick and Easy Men’s Card using Truly Tailored from Stampin’ Up!

How to Make a quick and easy mens card video tutorial using Truly Tailored from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Make It Monday Quick and Easy Men’s Card using Truly Tailored from Stampin’ Up!

Make It Monday

I have a quick and easy card for you today. One of the ways that I maintain my crafty mojo is by CASing (Copy and Selectively Edit!) and today I have CASE’d the Stampin’ Up! catalogue. The catalogue actually used to be called an idea book… and that is exactly how I use it. My catalogue is constantly in use, its always open on either my crafty desk or my office one, looking for ideas.

How to Make a quick and easy mens card video tutorial using Truly Tailored from Stampin' Up!

Ok, so this card uses Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Write Markers to selectively colour the sentiment stamp. I LOVE doing this, and have done it quite a bit recently. There are a couple of things to remember when you’re stamping with Stampin’ Write Markers

  • Use the side of the brush tip to colour your stamp
  • Use the lightest colour of marker first, and work to the darkest (particularly if your colouring a stamp where the ink colours will touch) to avoid your dark inks contaminating your lighter markers
  • Get plenty of ink onto your stamp; colour each part of the image several times, and colour in different directions to prevent a streaky looking stamped image
  • Stampin’ Write Markers use the same ink as your Stampin’ Up! Classic Ink Pads and are water-based, so the ink WILL dry on your stamp. Re-activate your ink before you stamp by breathing on it.

I love my Stampin’ Write Markers SO much that I have a fabulous Stampin’ Write Marker Club… this club gets your all 38 markers over 4 months and comes complete with a handy case to store them in too! You can find all the information about club HERE!

Pootlers Team Blog Hop | Celebrating Sale-a-bration!

How to create a fun Congratulations card using Amazing You from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Pootlers Team Blog Hop Celebrating Sale-a-bration!

Pootles Stampin' Up! Team Blog Hop

Welcome to StampinByHannah for the second Pootlers Team Blog Hop of 2018. This week we are sharing a heap of Sale-a-bration inspiration, and I cannot wait to see what the other ladies have made. You can find out first blog hop of 2018 HERE, where we shared Spring Summer catalogue goodies!

How to create a fun Congratulations card using Amazing You from Stampin' Up!

Sale-a-bration is awesome this year! There are so many great items that you can choose for free when you shop, my current favourite (it changes from week to week!) is the Amazing You stamp set and the Celebrate You thinlits. I LOVE when products coordinate, which is why I love Stampin’ Up! so much, and these two pair together wonderfully.

I used the Celebrate die twice, once to cut a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper and a second time to cut a piece of watercolour paper I had already coloured using Brusho. I am really enjoying playing with Brusho at the moment and am embracing the mess that comes along with it! There is one top tip for using the dies in the Celebrate You Thinlits… make sure that you back your card stock with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet BEFORE you die cut it. This makes the words SO much easier to adhere to your project, as they are then basically fancy stickers!

Celebrating Sale-a-bration with Pootles and the team with Amazing You from Stampin' Up!

The Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets also work really well sticking to the Glimmer Paper (please don’t ask how many times and different adhesives I used in the making of this card, how many Celebrates I die cut!), and it sticks well to the ribbon too! The Night of Navy Crinkle Seam Binding is attached to the card stock with a strip of Fast Fuse, and I ruffled it a little as I stuck it down to create this effect.

Do check out the other projects created by the Pootlers… and thank you so much for checking out StampinByHannah today!

StampinByHannah Techniques Rock and Roll Stamping with Heart Happiness from Stampin’ Up!

Stamping Techniques Series

For our final Valentines card inspiration, I have a really quick and easy, technique for you… one you might well have done before, but may not have played with for a while! I certainly haven’t pulled this one out of my techniques stash for ages. Actually I think the last time I did Rock and Roll stamping was for THIS video!

Cardmaking Techniques Video Tutorial Rock and Roll Stamping with Heart Happiness from Stampin' Up!

I also particularly love the colour combination on this card…

What colours are you planning for your Valentines this year?

I have been trying to add Top Tips to these blog posts recently, but I think I probably covered everything in the video this week! It’s such a simple idea… I would suggest inking your stamp with the lighter ink colour first, and then adding the darker colour around the outside… although I do have a way of doing it the other way around (that isn’t going to get dark ink into your light coloured ink pad) that I might film soon!

So, I hope that you have enjoyed visiting my blog this week. Check back tomorrow for a fun blog hop with my team…

Thoughtful Thursday | One Little Word

One Little Word using Memories and More from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday One Little Word

Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator StampinByHannah Thoughtful Thursday

These Thoughtful Thursday blog posts were designed to allow me to reach out and share more of my personal crafting with you. I started to craft as a bit of an escape, and it has become a way of helping me control my anxiety and improve my Mental Health. One of the crafty ways I am tackling my anxiety this year is by taking Ali Edwards‘ One Little Word class. I have been watching this class from a distance for a few years, but this year I decided to spend my birthday money on me and buy the class! I am SO glad that I did!

So, the last Thursday of each month I am planning on sharing my One Little Word project for the month.

How to create a One Little Word Album using Stampin' Up! Supplies

The idea of the class is pretty simple. You pick a ‘focus’ word for the year, and then each month Ali provided videos and prompts for you to creatively explore that word, giving your inspiration and much much more.

My word for 2018 is ‘Growth’. I’m not going to go into massive amounts of detail about my word, other than what it is. However, I will share my spreads for the month. I am choosing to use Stampin’ Up! supplies for my One Little Word album, in conjunction with some of the print-ables that come as part of the class.

Memories and More from Stampin' Up! to complete One Little Word from Ali Edwards

My starting point for this album is the Perfect Days Memories and More Card Pack. You guys know I’m all about the colours… and the colours in this pack are awesome!

I’m really feeling cooler tones at the moment, and I don’t know whether that’s because my Anxiety has been playing up, or the fact that its been REALLY cold outside!

Thoughtful Thursday One Little Word scrapbooking using Memories and More from Stampin' Up!

Like I mentioned Ali provides a heap of print-able elements as part of this class. So the first thing I did was download and print the journalling cards for the month. I managed to completely screw this up (hence why they are backed on Memories and More cards!)… I expect its to do with printing out cards designed for 8-1/2 x 11″ paper on A4, and my complete lack of technical ability, but I don’t mind. I’m not sure whether I might try and work it out for next month, or stick with things how they are… we shall see!

How to do One Little Word from Ali Edwards using Stampin' Up! supplies

As you can see I have totally finished this month, I need to work on my Intentions a little more and add a photograph of myself in that 3×4 pocket but I wanted to share this with you before the end of the month. Looking at that picture, I might move some of those cards around a little too… a work in progress as always!

What big crafty project are you taking on in 2018? I’ll love to know, let me know in the comments below!

Sale-a-bration Spotlight | How to Join Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! UK Starter Kit

StampinByHannah Sale-a-bration Spotlight How to Join Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! Saleabration

There are 3 fabulous parts to Sale-a-bration; Shop, Host and Join. I chatted about the Shop part last week, but I really wanted to talk about the fabulous joining offer this week.

The Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit is the gateway to joining Stampin’ Up! Grabbing the Starter Kit gets you so much…

  • £130 worth of Stampin’ Up! products of your choice, and pay just £99
  • 2 Stamp sets of your choice extra for FREE
  • 20-25% discount on your Stampin’ Up! purchases
  • An exclusive quarterly magazine
  • Stampin’ Up! events, trips and more…
  • Pre-order for new products and catalogues
  • Plus, a fabulous community of like minded crafters, inspiration, and fun!

Stampin' Up! UK How to Join

So, What does a Starter Kit look like?

Your Starter Kit is totally customisible, it contains items of your choice. I have a couple of suggested kits here…

The Daisy Delight kit… (perfect for a new crafter)

What about a Big shot…

How do I continue to receive all the great benefits?

Stampin’ Up! do have a minimum that they do ask you to meet. However, it is very reasonable, just £225 per quarter. They don’t include the quarter that you join in, so if you sign up before the end of March (and so get those extra stamp sets as part of Sale-a-bration!) you have until the end of June to meet that minimum. PLUS Stampin’ Up! don’t mind if your only shopping for yourself, or if your selling to your family and friends, or if you holding great big classes… as long as that minimum is met.

What happens if I drop?

Nothing, Stampin’ Up! do not ask for anything back, I’m not about to come after you… you just return to being a customer rather than a member of the team. You do loose access to Team groups, Stampin’ Up! events, discounts and the other benefits to being a part of Stampin’ Up!

I don’t want to sell, blog or do parties, is that a problem?

No. I would LOVE to welcome you to the team whether you want to be a happy shopper or a business builder. We all love to craft and share… and that’s all that I ask! However, if you do decided to take Stampin’ Up! on as a business I will support you, offer advice and more. I have recently set up an email training series available to every team member when they join (or later on if they choose) to go through business basics, guide you around the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator website, and more…

Where do I sign up?!

You can sign up right now HERE, or if you have more questions do check out my Joining FAQ page, or the Join my Team page.
