Make It Monday Video Tutorial How to make a Pocket Card using Stitched All Around from Stampin' Up!

Today’s project is a fun one… we all send cards all the time, but why does a card have to be card stock folded in half?! I think today’s project would make a super cute invitation, or a fun ‘just because’ card, or a great way to dress up a gift card!

Making a fun fancy fold Pocket Card using Gorgeous Grape and Stitched All Around from Stampin' Up!

Firstly, lets just talk about those colours! Oh my goodness I am in LOVE with this colour combination: Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape and Petal Pink. One of the best things about Stampin’ Up! products is the coordination. The Card stock is the same colour as the Ink, is the same colour as the Embellishments, is the same colour as the ribbon, Designer Series Paper and more! I would LOVE you to try Stampin’ Up! inks…. we have SO many fabulous colours. You can check them all out HERE

This is simple project…. really it’s just an envelope with a fun insert! But there are SO many ways to dress this up… I would LOVE to see your versions! Share them with me over on my Facebook Group!

Measurements:

Card stock: 7-7/8x 7-7/8″

Punch and score using the Envelope Punch Board at 3-3/8″

Insert:

Gorgeous Grape: 4 x 5-1/2″

Whisper White: 3-3/4 x 5-1/4″

Belly Band:

Petal Pink: 1-1/2 x 11″

My other love at the moment is the fabulous Stitched All Around Bundle! That label die is finding it’s way onto a heap of projects at the moment. Did you see my Notecards and Envelopes Project last week… it used the same die, but it looks so different!

What is your favourite crafty thing this month?

Memories and More Desk Storage Box with Pen Holder

How to make a storage box for your Memories and More cards using Stampin' Up! card stock and Designer Series Paper

StampinByHannah Memories and More Desk Storage Box with Pen Holder

I’m on a bit of a storage making kick at the moment… I think it’s because I keep looking at furniture I can’t buy (yet!), and so making my own crafty storage is a reasonable alternative! I have told the story before about how I was led to card making from scrapbooking, but I don’t think I’ve ever said anything about how much I LOVE pocket scrapbooking! It’s just so quick, and you can whip up and album in just a few hours. My Wedding Album (still under development… and currently at the bottom of a large storage box, because you know; moving!) is mostly made up of Pockets, with some 12 x 12 pages thrown in!

Fun storage for Project Life or Memories and More Cards Video Tutorial

These are some of the new Memories and More cards too… so pretty! I am planning on using these to catch up with my One Little Word Album for 2018, which I am slightly (read: 4 months!) behind with.

Inspire.Create.Challenges Stampin' Up! Challenge Blog Floral Theme

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenges #024 Floral

Inspire.Create.Challenges Stampin' Up! Theme Challenge

Oh my I LOVE this theme… probably because I made a TON of Floral cards! But, I thought it was a good opportunity to go all out, and make something really special. So, here we go!

Abstract Impressions Thank You Card using Stampin' Up! products

I’ve been on a bit of a Pastel kick recently, until now that is cos this card is bright! Thanks to a mix of Berry Burst, Mango Melody and Mint Macaron, none of which are actually in the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper… but I think that they totally work!

So, I had a play with some watercolour on this card too. I cut the fabulous floral corner die from Springtime Impressions from Shimmery White Card Stock, and then coloured some of the flowers and leaves using watercolour…. and then snipped them out of the larger piece to create this two focal points on the card.

Pretty Floral Thank You card using Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

Each die cut is attached with mini staples (sorry, I know that the Stampin’ Up! Stapler retired… but I just can’t part with mine!)… and I added a few extra bits; Rose Metallic Thread, a spritz of ink, and some repeat stamping for the sentiment!

I hope you have enjoyed your visit to StampinByHannah today… please do check out the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog to see some more Floral Creations from the Design Team AND to add your own Floral makes to the link up too!

International Blog Highlights | Teacher Gifts!

International Blog Highlights Teacher Gifts Teabag Gift Box using Share What You Love Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlights Teacher Gifts!

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

Welcome to StampinByHannah today for the August Blog Highlight! I adore taking part in these every month and was totally honoured to be chosen as a top pick in July! You can see the winners blog hop from last month HERE!

I think Kylie has set us a really tough challenge this month! It might just be me though… Teacher Gifts?! Now, for us here in the UK, this is a little late as the kids are all currently off school for the summer. But, I don’t have any children either… so the whole thing is a bit lost on me to be honest! However, I’m always up for a challenge…. so, Teacher Gifts it is, and Teacher Gifts you have got!

How to make a fun Teacher Gift using the Envelope Punch Board and Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

These are really simple little gifts, because I understand that you need something quick, and probably multiples of them for all those fabulous Teaching Assistants (I know about those… my mother and mother in law both work in schools!). So, I’ve these cute boxes are made in a snap using the Envelope Punch Board, and each hold 4 individually wrapped tea bags.

The Designer Series Paper is called Share What You Love, and because it’s a heavier weight than most of the Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper it’s great for boxes and bags! I’ve even taken a sanding block to it for a fun shabby effect.

The sentiment and dies are taken from the Stitched All Around bundle. I am in LOVE with these stamps and dies! This sentiment is particularly special to me; as I used to sing this song to a resident every single morning… it always made her smile, and she would sing along to. I left that job back in April, and I know that that lady has since passed (not wanting to bring this post down!)… but it’s one of the reason’s why I LOVE my day job! I know that I’m a nurse, rather than a teacher…. but these would make awesome nurses gifts!

Cute Envelope Punch Board Gift Box using Share What You Love Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

Measurements:

Designer Series Paper; 6-3/8 x 6-3/8″

Punch and Score at 2-1/2″ and the 4″ on on the first side, then use these lines as a guide to punch and score the other 3 sides.

Make It Monday | How to create a fun watercolour background for your cards

How to create a fun watercolour background for your hand stamped cards using Little Twinkle from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Make It Monday How to create a fun watercolour background for your cards

Make It Monday banner

A few weeks ago I was playing around with the Little Twinkle Stamp set (read: should have been making samples for my Twinkle Twinkle Suite Share!) and shared a picture of what I was working on over on Instagram. One of my lovely followers asked how I created the watercolour background… so, here is the tutorial!

Make It Monday Watercolour Background Video Tutorial Using Stampin' Up! Products

I’m a little bit in love with this colour combination; Blueberry Bushel, Coastal Cabana and Gray Granite. So pretty, and a great way to make a pretty yet masculine card…. although I think if I was to make this again I might hit it with a bit of Wink of Stella for some sparkle too!

There isn’t really any trick to creating this type of background, other than patience! There are two layers of watercolour on this card, plus some over stamping. You can see all the details in the video tutorial…

Stampin’ Up! inks are water-based, which allows you to use the same inks that you stamp with to create fun watercolour backgrounds like this one! To use your inks for watercolour, just squeeze the ink pad before you open it to put in onto the “lid”… this is a little tricky on the new style ink pads, and so you might choose to use a drop of a re-inker onto a clear block instead.

Video Tutorial…

Once the first layer of watercolour is laid down, leave it! Let it dry naturally for less warping, or hit it with your heat tool for speed. The second layer is where you create those fabulous harsh lines and blend the colours. Then, once its all dry, you can add some stamping! Here I’ve added stamping using the Stampin’ Up! Craft White Ink… this ink is a pigment rather than being water-based like the rest of the Stampin’ Up! inks. This allows you to get a really crisp white image, but it does take a little longer to dry.

Masculine Valentines Card using Little Twinkle from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is stamped last, although the Blueberry Bushel in has been resisted by the White Pigment for a further fun watercolour effect.

International Blog Highlight Winners Blog Hop | Welcome Card

Floral Welcome card using Floral Frames from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlight Winners Blog Hop Welcome Card

International Blog Highlight Winners Blog Hop

I am so totally honored to be taking part in the International Highlights Winner Blog Hop tonight! I always enjoy taking part in Kylie’s International Highlights…. she comes up with some great themes! You can find the card that got me here HERE! Because the Highlight was Travel themed, the blog hop is the same…. I’m sure you are thinking “but Hannah…. You’ve made a Welcome card”. And Yes, I have…. but it started life as a Welcome Home card…. but then the ‘Home’ didn’t quite fit…. still, I think this card is too good not to share!

International Blog Hop Travel Welcome Card using Floral Frames from Stampin' Up!

The ‘Welcome’ was stamped using the Lined Alphabet Stamp Set, on Vellum using Memento Black Ink and heat set with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then, coloured using a Light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend Marker. Using Alcohol Markers on Vellum allows you to create a fun Watercolour Effect super easily, as the Alcohol takes a little longer to dry. If you add extra puddles of Alcohol ink it then dries at different times, creating those pretty harsh lines that give a watercolour effect.

How to create a watercolour effect with Alcohol markers

The background was stamped using the Floral Frames stamp set. I just LOVE that pretty frame in the centre. I added some randomly stamped flowers around the outside to create this pretty look.

The card was finished with a length of Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain ribbon and a bow.
