CASE Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Catalogue 2014

I’ve discussed the meaning of CASE before – Copy and Share Everything, really its what we do all the time; see something and take it as inspiration for our own project whether that be something really similar to someone elses or quite different.

Today I’ve used a card from the Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Catalogue for my inspiration. I’ve stuck to it quite closely really, but a few details are changed. I used this as my Make and Take project for my Stampin’ Party a few weeks ago, the ladies had a great time making this card and I’m sure you will too! The links to the products used are at the end of this post, and a link to my shop is on the right hand side of this page.

Stampin' Up! UK Festival of Trees

So you can find this card (and the supplies neccessary to create it) on page 25 of the Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Autumn Winter Catalogue for 2014. The original uses some of the gorgeous Cherry Cobble 1″ Sheer Linen Ribbon, but in the interests of keeping things simple, I swapped the ribbon for a piece of Real Red cardstock. The Tree is stamping in Old Olive (the same colour as the card base), and then the Real Red dots are stamped over the top. Stampin’ Up! make this technique really easy with their photopolymer stamps, allowing you to see through the stamp to line it up with the image underneath. The star is stamped in Daffodil Delight, and punched out with the star from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack (oh, how much do I love those punches!)

We had great fun making these at my latest Stampin’ Party! If you live in Teesside, and what to make these, why not arrange a Stampin’ Party and we can make these together!

Product of the Month – make your own Project Life Cards

Hello!

So, like I promised I’ve managed to make a few things with my Product of the Month this month – The Back to Basics Alphabet!

I did film makingthis, but something happened to my camera and it failed to capture the whole event! So, I decided to do away with it altogether!

Project Life By Stampin Up UK DIY PL Card

This is a simple project. You could easily step it up and create something amazing, but I wanted to keep it simple to showcase the Alphabet. I cut a piece of Perfect Plum Cardstock to 6″ x 4″, and rounded the corners (to match the rest of the cards in my album!). I know some people arent a fan of the rounded corner look, but I LOVE it, the cards just dont feel finished to me without rounded corners, I expect it comes from using the Becky Higgins Project Life Core Kits for so long! but, back to the project!

I used Work of Art to create a background on the PL card stamping in: Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss, before stamping the page title and date using the Back to Basics Alphabet Stamp set – isnt it great that it includes numbers too!

I added some more stamping to some of the other cards in this layout too, adding details of people and locations around the grounds. This alphabet is so easy to use because its such a clear clean font, and its just so versitile – check back soon for more alphabet ideas!

Bravo! for a super simple sunday!

Just a quick card for you today, using Melon Mambo (and not much else actually!)]

Stampin Up Melon Mambo Flower Shop Petie Petals

This card uses the Sweet Taffy DSP, in that gorgeous Melon Mambo – the brightest of bright pinks! to create this cute card. All the inking is done in Melon Mambo, using the Flower Shop and Petite Petals for the flowers, and A Dozen Thoughts for the sentiment! Its a super simple and quick card, great for a little girls birthday or when your a little short on time! The Flowers are stamped and then punched using the coordinating punches to create that professional look, and the sentiment is punched using the modern label punch. Easy!

Just a little DSP….

We all have scraps dont we?! the scraps of DSP were starting to take over in my craftroom, so while I was trying to tidy up…. a card was born!

Stampin Up UK Moonlight Designer Series Paper DSP

This card uses Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Moonlight DSP Stack. It features the new In Colours: Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, and Blackberry Bliss, with Sahara Sand and Whisper White. This card also a scrap of the Flashback DSP. Its a Very Vanilla card base, and I’ve stamped the sentiment from Something to Say in Memento Tuxedo Black.

This card is pretty simple really, I love using scraps of DSP like this, making little banners or strips on a card, with a cute sentiment.

To finish I used the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Corner Rounder to round the two outside corners, and that the card done!

Stampin’ By Hannah Product of the Month!

Welcome to September here at StampinByHannah!

This months Product of the Month is …… the Back to Basics Alphabet

Stampin Up Back to Basics Alphabet

I love this stamp set, the font is so simple and classic, but I really struggle to use it! Do you find the same? Well, this month I will be giving you some ideas of how you could use it to its full potentional. It’s a photopolymer set, which makes lining up and stamping words in a straight line much easier, but storage is an issue. Thanks to Connie Stewart for this great storage tip (see video for more!)

Hope you follow along with me

Check out my PinteresBoard for more ideas and inspiration!

Weekly Deals – 03.09.2014

Hey, its that time again! Weekly Deals!

This weeks offering is a little different, no stamps, punches or embossing folders, no ribbon or embellishments. Actually, at first glance this weeks deals appear really rather dull! But that is where the surprises start!

Stampin Up! Weekly Deals

5 colours of ink refil! whats so great about those I hear you cry!

Well, where do I begin? first, they are a much needed tool to replenish those ink pads (and much cheaper than buying all those pads again!), they can be used to watercolour, with our Simply Pressed Clay (see above!), dye your ribbons, mixed with water and put into a spraybottle like our Stampin’ Spritzer to make a mist, and loads of techniques involving rubbing alcohol, shaving foam, and many many others!

So really, even if you dont own the ink pads in these colours, grab the refills now while they are such a great price! and use them for many different effects!

Awesome

A merry little star

Just a quick post from me today (I’m away with family, and realised I hadnt scheduled anything for you lovely people over the weekend), I have a super exciting post for you on tuesday, so dont forget to check back then. Also, before I get to today’s card, pop over to my Facebook page, for regular updates and news from the craft room!

Right, card time! The Autumn / Winter seasonal catalogue was released this past week, so I thought I’d make another festive card, but this time using mainly non-seasonal product (saying that the sentiment is from the lovely Festival of Trees stamp set which I love so so very much!)

Stampin up Christmas star something to say

So this card uses the same techinque as THIS ONE, embossing the edge of the card blank with clear Stamp Emboss Powder. This time I used that lovely swirl from Everything Eleanor. The stars are stamped using the star from Festival of Trees as well as Something to say (from the annual catalogue). Oh, and that red ribbon?! well, that’s white organza ribbon (its so pretty) coloured with my Real Red Stampin’ Write marker!

I love this card, and although it uses several different techniques it was super simple to put together!

Copy and Share Everything …..

I always find making birthday cards for children difficult, and I tend to gravitate back towards Stampin’ Up! Zoo Babies at every possible opportunity. I’ve had a few childrens (well toddlers) cards to make recently, including a first birthday ‘card-in-a-box’ that I forgot to photograph! Ooops! and had run out of ideas a little by the time another birthday came around, so where did I turn for inspiration ….. Pinterest!

Oh, Pinterest, how I love thee…… I use Pinterest all the time, to collate my ideas, record my projects, for inspiration for many things in my life as well as crafting. I love the organised way of creating ‘boards’, ensuring all my ideas about a particular topic are together – Stampin’ Up!, Wedding, Christmas etc. etc. Go and check out my Pinterest and follow along.

So, I was all out of inspiration, but thats OK, I have a Pinterest Board for that – CASE

CASE stands for : Copy And Share Everything, something actively encouraged by Stampin’ Up! So thats what I did

Stampin Up! Zoo Babies

Using the In Colours 2014-2016 – Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, and Lost Lagoon, the Zoo Babies Stamp Set, and some scraps of cardstock this was my make.

The recipient LOVED it!
