Product of the Month – Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Cards!

Ok, so this month my Product of the Month is the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Card Collection and Accessory Pack.

I LOVE this kits, you get heaps of Project Life cards, stickers, Washi tape, and other fun embellishments, and they are great for documenting family holidays, Christmas, Halloween, etc. But I know there is more that you can do with them than just memory keeping (don’t get me wrong, I love memory keeping! but I know its not everyone’s bag!)

So, I grabbed my kits the other day and made some really cool cards using just the cards in the kit (plus some cardstock for the card bases) and the goodies in the Accessory pack.

Stampin' Up! UK Project Life Thankful for you

Some of the cards in this kit are based around Halloween and Thanksgiving, and although Halloween in growing in popularity, Thanksgiving is definitely an All American Holiday! So I knew I needed to find a different purpose for these cards. I always need Thank You cards (each and every customer that shops with me gets a Thank you), and so I took this lovely spotty 6×4 card and cut it down to 4 x 5 3/4″ to fit my card base, added a strip of Washi tape, a punched Decorative Label, and the Thankful sticker from the Accessory kit. The ‘for you’ is part of a stamp from Good Greetings, I coloured with Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Marker and added to the label.

Stampin' Up! UK Project Life Seasonal Snaphot

I love this card! Baby It’s Cold Outside, and I thought it paired beautifully with this Old Olive ‘jumper’ print card! I have rounded the corners with the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Corner punch, and added some stars from the Accessory pack with some multi-purpose liquid glue.

Stampin' Up! UK Project Life by Stampin' Up! Seasonal Snapshot shaker card

This thought is my favourite of the 3 cards! This card took me ages! I love the look of a Shaker card, but I have never made one (until now!) and I have to say, I’ll be grabbing some foam tape before I make one again! I used a Real Red card base, and added the Old Olive Polka dot print 6 x4 card (cut down a little) to the front, before adhering the red snowflake 3 x4 card to the centre.

The accessory pack comes with 3 of these lovely printed acetate 3 x4 cards, one says Merry Christmas, one has a wood grain print, and the other is Halloween themed. And this Merry Christmas just screamed ‘Shaker card’ to me! I have a little confession to make here, the Sahara Sand frame around the acetate piece is cut using Spellbinders Curved Matting Basics A dies, because that is what I had on hand.

Then came the fiddly part! I really need some foam tape next time because to create the ‘shaker’ you have enclose all those sequins in something! Well, I didnt have foam tape (and now I’m thinking about it, this would have been a great time to use those edge pieces from the Dimensionals!), but I do have a whole heap of foam squares from a well know craft superstore (I wasn’t wasting this many dimensionals! sorry!), and used those to enclose my sequins. So, the Sahara sand frame is attached to the acetate piece, then I stuck foam squares around the edge of the acetate, piled the sequins in the centre of the snowflake card, and stuck the acetate, frame, and foam squares, over the top!

I love the look, and it would be super simple if I had some foam tape!

12 Tags of Christmas – Merry and Bright!

Hello!

Welcome to another instalment of the 12 Tags of Christmas!

This week I used the Good Greetings stamp set (still FREE on any order of £200! until the end of October!) and the Under the Tree Tag a Bag Accessory kit!

Stampin' Up! UK 12 Tags of Christmas

I just love the Tag a Bag Accessory Kits, we have several over the annual and seasonal catalogues. They are just so handy, and include 10 gift tags for just £7.25! Awesome!

So, this tag also uses two pieces of DSP; the green is a piece of Under the Tree Specialty DSP, with the brown being from the Trim the Tree paper stack. I love both these packs of DSP! The specialty paper is really thick (and is awesome for boxes and 3D items) and the little paper stacks are super handy for card fronts and other cute projects (hint hint!)

Stampin' Up! UK Scallop Tag Topper Punch

So, to create this tag. The green piece of 2″ x 6″ and punched using the Scallop tag topper punch. And the brown piece is 2″ x 3″ and punched with the same punch. The sentiment from that Good Greetings set, is stamped on one of the builder tags from the Tag a bag accessory kit, attached with a dimensional. Instead of using twine or ribbon this week, I’ve used one of the pegs from the Tag a bag accessory kit – they are just so cute!

12 Tags of Christmas!

Hello there!

Can you believe it! There are 12 weeks left until Christmas! Time to sort the Cards, Presents, and food!!!!

As you have already seen, I’ve made a start on my Christmas cards, so I was thinking about something we could do, to celebrate the 12 weeks of Christmas! when the Scallop Tag Topper Punch arrived on my desk!

So, I introduce to you….. The 12 Tags of Christmas….. coming to you each Monday between now and Christmas!

Stampin' Up! UK Espresso Trim the Tree Tag Good Greetings

So, most of the tags in this series use the Scallop Tag Topper Punch, and so to fit in the punch each tag is 2″ wide. This tag uses two ‘tags’ at 2″ x 6″ one in Early Espresso cardstock and one in a piece of DSP from the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper stack. I love these DSP stack, there are two in the annual catalogue and one in the current seasonal – with sheets measuring 6.5″ x 4.5″, and they have loads of really cool patterns and are great for card fronts and sweet little gifts!

Stampin' Up! UK Espresso Trim the Tree Tag Good GreetingsAs well as the Scallop Tag Topper punch this tag also uses the Modern Label punch, and this cute greeting from Good Greetings (our StampinByHannah product of the month! see HERE!)

The twine for this tag comes from the Under the Tree Tag a Bag Accessory Kit, you get loads and loads of Crumb Cake bakers twine (along with a heap of other goodies) for £7.25! LOVE!

Check back next week for more Tags!

Back to Basics Zoo Babies

Seeing as we are now right at the end of September, it time to say goodbye to our Product of the Month (yes, their will be another in October!) but before we do, I thought I would grab it again for one final project!

Stampin' Up! UK Zoo Babies Back to Basics AlphabetHow cute is this card! I used that Back to Basics Alphabet to create a background – almost like a word search, for the front of the card.

The card base is in Marina Mist (LOVE! – it only arrived on friday, I think its a new favourite!), with the word search layer in Soft sky, and inked in Soft Sky ink. Then I’ve used; Calypso Coral, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron to stamp the Zoo Babies animals, and the sentiment.

super cute, and a great way to end our Product of the Month for September. Back to Basics is still available through to June of 2015 (at least, let hope its even longer! I love the font.), grab it now by clicking the links through to my webshop

Check back soon for the reveal of our Product of the Month for October!

Personalised Wedding Cards!

Back in wedding mode again today! These are some cards I made for a friend, as thank you cards for the special ladies involved in her wedding – flower girls, bridesmaids, and the mothers!

I was so exicted when I took the order for these! Her colour scheme was white, pale pink and grey, so I took that and ran with it!

Stampin' Up! UK Wedding Everything Eleanor

I used Whisper White, Smokey Slate and Pink Pirouette, along with Everything Eleanor (isnt it the most gorgeous set for weddings!) and the Back to Basic Alphabet to personalise the cards. The flowers are a mix of Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents, and they are finished off with the coordinating stamp and some Pearl Basic Jewels

Stampin' Up! UK Wedding Everything Eleanor

These bridesmaids cards use Smokey Slate as the card base, and the same stamp sets as before. Each card has the bridesmaids name on, handstamped using that Back to Basics Alphabet

Stampin' Up! UK Wedding Everything Eleanor

The last set of cards are the ones I made for the Flower girls. Once again they use Everything Eleanor and Back to Basics, but this time I decided to make them a little more fun, and used the bird stamp to add an extra litte something.

Each of the cards was also stamped with a coordinating stamp inside, and also on the envelope.

I love making cards with purpose like these. Having just finished my own wedding invitations though, I might have to have a little break from weddings…….. ok thats enough of a break! I do love a good wedding, dont you?

Memory Monday – 12×12 layout

I love scrapbooking! I found card making through scrapbooking actually. I started making cards because I wanted to find a use for all my scraps of pattern paper, and found that I love making cards as much as I love memory keeping! Recently, what with working as a nurse, card-making, businesses, and wedding planning, scrapbooking has become a bit forgotten, but I’m hoping that this series ‘Memory Mondays’ will help to get me back on track!

Last week I used Project Life to document a trip to Castle Howard, a gorgeous stately home set in  the glorious countryside of North Yorkshire! I love Project Life but sometime I need a little more space to tell my story, and then I return to 12×12 layouts!

Stampin' Up! UK Scrapbook 12x12 Memory Keeping

The weather wasnt the best the day we went to Castle Howard, but in my option Memory Keeping isnt really about the quality of the photograph – its about the memory associated with it!

I used the Flashback Designer Series Paper Pack, in particular the sheets that had Pool Party, Basic Black and Real Red! I love that Stampin’ Up! use the same colours for each product line, it makes coordination just so easy! I picked out the Smokey Slate camera from one of the pieces of Flashback, I often use 3’s both in card making and scrapbooking – I’ll cluster either 3 or 5 embellishments, even numbers just dont look right to me. So, I created 3 patches of embellishments using on of the camera’s on a Dimentional, a piece of Washi Tape and a acetate accent from the Everyday Adventure Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Accessory Pack.

The title uses our Product of the Month – the Back to Basics Alphabet Stamp set, stamped in Pool Party (see, that coordination again!).

The layout looked a little bare at this point, so I added my journalling, argueably the most important aspect of scrapbooking, getting your memories onto the page! This is not always the easiest bit, or the most fun, but ask yourself, why are you making this page if your not saying anything about why! I generally take the who, what, when, where, why approach. Use your journalling to explain who you’re with (or who you are!), what you did, when you did it, where you went, and why you went there.

To finish the layout, as it still looked a little bare, I used a small paint brush with some water, and Pool Party and Smokey Slate ink to create some splatter on the white section of the page.

What do you think? let me know in the comments below….

Product of the Month – make your own Project Life Cards

Hello!

So, like I promised I’ve managed to make a few things with my Product of the Month this month – The Back to Basics Alphabet!

I did film makingthis, but something happened to my camera and it failed to capture the whole event! So, I decided to do away with it altogether!

Project Life By Stampin Up UK DIY PL Card

This is a simple project. You could easily step it up and create something amazing, but I wanted to keep it simple to showcase the Alphabet. I cut a piece of Perfect Plum Cardstock to 6″ x 4″, and rounded the corners (to match the rest of the cards in my album!). I know some people arent a fan of the rounded corner look, but I LOVE it, the cards just dont feel finished to me without rounded corners, I expect it comes from using the Becky Higgins Project Life Core Kits for so long! but, back to the project!

I used Work of Art to create a background on the PL card stamping in: Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss, before stamping the page title and date using the Back to Basics Alphabet Stamp set – isnt it great that it includes numbers too!

I added some more stamping to some of the other cards in this layout too, adding details of people and locations around the grounds. This alphabet is so easy to use because its such a clear clean font, and its just so versitile – check back soon for more alphabet ideas!

Stampin’ By Hannah Product of the Month!

Welcome to September here at StampinByHannah!

This months Product of the Month is …… the Back to Basics Alphabet

Stampin Up Back to Basics Alphabet

I love this stamp set, the font is so simple and classic, but I really struggle to use it! Do you find the same? Well, this month I will be giving you some ideas of how you could use it to its full potentional. It’s a photopolymer set, which makes lining up and stamping words in a straight line much easier, but storage is an issue. Thanks to Connie Stewart for this great storage tip (see video for more!)

Hope you follow along with me

Check out my PinteresBoard for more ideas and inspiration!
