Merry Christmas Tree Builder

I got my Stampin’ Sponges out again!  I LOVED making this card, getting my blend on with some fabulous ink colours!Merry Chrostmas to you blended tree - 2

The ink blended circle on this card required a mask; created from two clouds punched from the Tree Builder Punch, and a large circle die cut using the Circle collection framelits. I layered this elements together to create this mask, that I then sponged through with Mossy Meadow and Lost Lagoon ink

The effect around the edge is super easy to create too! I added the Whisper White card stock to my Lost Lagoon card base with Fast Fuse (as usual) but made sure not to put the Fast Fuse too close to the edge of the card stock. Then once it was stuck down, I pulled up the edges with my fingers. I’m sure you can spot where I got a little bit over excited with this step!

Merry Chrostmas to you blended tree

I finished this one with the Tree stamp from To You and Yours Too, along with the sentiment from the same set. Can you see the tiny little dots in the ink? they are little dots of Crystal effects, three trios of three, for an extra little something!

One Layer White Christmas…

Stampin' Up! One layer Card

As I’m sure you know I LOVE getting messy and inky when I’m getting creative in my craft room. I had great fun making this cute one layer card.

I’m actually not sure if I’ve ever made a true ‘one layer’ card before, just a card base and some ink.

Stampin' Up! One layer Card

This stamp set is one of the Christmas themed sets that you can find all year long in our Annual catalogue. White Christmas features this wonderful trees, as well as cute items to dress them up, including a car, a bear and a Christmas tree. The trees have been stamped in Memento black ink, with White Craft Ink added to the snow bank and to the trees with a Sponge Dauber.

I couldn’t leave the card completely plain, and added this cute red bird to the trees, and some falling snow in some more of that great Craft Ink

Happy Holiday Wishes….

I know, mixing it up this week with a post on a Wednesday! (and it’s not just housekeeping!)

This week I’m featuring 5 days of quick and easy Christmas cards for your last minute craft inspiration. Speaking of craft inspiration, how about a dose of inspiration delivered directly to you each and every week? Did you know I send out a weekly newsletter, complete with a great project each week. This month in the newsletter I’m showing some great sneak peaks, with ideas and inspiration you wont want to miss! You can subscribe HERE or there is always a link at the end of my blog posts.

To you and yours

This great card uses the To You and Yours stamp set, and is great for those last minute makes. I have to admit that I made a little bit of a mess of this one, I have no idea what happened to the Gold Foil card stock, but that bottom left hand corner appears to have been chewed!

The card base here is Old Olive, while the stamping is in a different green (Garden Green) with a pop of Real Red and a hint of Gold – I love this style of card. Super simple and really quick to batch make too!

Round and Round the Snowman!

Stampin' Up! UK Round Christmas card

As I said on Sunday, I haven’t got any more videos now until the new year, but I didn’t want to leave my wonderful blog readers hanging on a Tuesday! So I have a special sort of card for you today…

A round one!

Stampin' Up! UK Round Christmas card

This card was created from a 4 1/2″ square card black. To create the round shape I used one of the larger Circle Dies from the Circle Collection, and positioned the die so a little bit was hanging off the edge of the folded edge, creating a hinge. I had to cut the bottom of the card too, otherwise it just rolled away!

I’m totally in love with Mr. Snowman, I think this will probably be the only type of Snowman I get to make this year, its getting warmer again here and I’m not holding out much hope for a white Christmas!

Home for Christmas

Stampin' Up! UK Designer Series Paper Christmas Card

I thought this week I would give you a few ideas for your last minute Christmas cards.

Stampin' Up! UK Designer Series Paper Christmas Card

This card uses the fabulous Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper (that MAY still be available in the End of Year Sale!) Have I mentioned about the End of Year Sale – There are heaps of bargains on some wonderful products so please do check it out if you haven’t already!

The card is super simple actually, one piece of Designer Series Paper measuring 10 x 14.2 cm that I have sponged the edges of, with another strip of paper (10 x 2.5 cm) matted with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.

The sentiment is from Santa’s Gifts, stamped in Real Red ink. I think the circle is the 1 1/4″ circle punch, but I cant remember! oops!

12 Weeks of Christmas | Table Gifts

Stampin' Up! UK chocolate box video tutorial

Stampin' Up! 12 weeks of Christmas

I am so sad that this is series of Christmas projects is nearly over! We have reached week 11 of 12, so only next week to go 🙁 I do hope that you have enjoyed this series as much as I have enjoyed making it!

This week I have a fabulous box project for you, that would make a great box for home-made chocolates or truffles, or as a table gift on your Christmas table

Stampin' Up! UK 12 weeks of christmas table gifts

These are quite large boxes, and I have to admit, they are quite indulgent and use a WHOLE SHEET of A4 (or 8 1/2 x 11!) but they are a great size – 2 x 2 x 4″ (5 x 5 x 10 cm)

Measurements:

Card stock = 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm)

Score on the short side at 2 and 6″ (5 and 15 cm)

Score on the long side at 2, 4, 6, and 8″ (5, 10, 15 and 20 cm)

Designer Series Paper measures 2 x 8 1/2″ (5 x 22 cm)

Stampin' Up! UK 12 Weeks of Christmas Chocolate box

I’m loving the belly band on these boxes, using the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper, and A Little Something stamp set.

There’s Snow Place Like Home….

Stampin' Up! UK Snow friends Penguin Watercolour

It’s no secret that I love watercolour techniques, and I’ve been at it again on this card. Actually the first time I made this card I managed to get the paper too wet, by adding far too many layers of watercolour and had to start again!

Stampin' Up! UK Snow friends Penguin Watercolour

Mr. Penguin was stamped in Archival Basic Black Ink onto Watercolour Paper. The new Archival inks are great for watercolour as they don’t react with water, meaning that the ink stays where you put it and doesn’t bleed. His feet and beak are coloured using a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker.

I have mentioned before about how much I love Stampin’ Up!® for coordination; and this set is no exception as it comes bundled with matching framelits, making cutting out Mr. Penguin’s ear muffs, ice cream and bow tie a breeze!

My favourite bits of this card is the background. After I had Mr. Penguin stamped (but before he got dressed!) I masked him off with a piece of Post-it tape to protect him and created this watercolour background using Soft Sky ink. I put several layers of watercolour here, to create a textured effect. The floor is Tip Top Taupe. For extra texture I added some Wisteria Wonder splatters using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.
