Yep, I’ve been playing with Swirly Bird again! I’m loving the enormous combination of things you can make with this set; birds, boats, kites, flowers…. and I’m sure there’s more in there too!
I think this was one of the first cards I made with Swirly Bird a few weeks ago. I love when stamp sets come with coordinating dies for the smaller images, and this card uses all the smallest images from the stamps and dies.
Swirly Bird comes bundled with the Swirly Scribbles thinlits dies for a great 10% off! There are heaps and heaps of bundles in this years annual catalogue, I keep finding new ones that I hadn’t spotted before which is awesome!
The splatter in the background of this card is also from Swirly Bird, but the sentiment is taken from Love You Lots – one of the new Hostess Exclusive stamp sets.
I am totally inspired by colour at the moment, this happens to me in the spring/summer, colour becomes super important in my creative process. Stampin’ Up! UK Independent Demonstrator
I am loving the combination of Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry, and I’ve paired this with Pear Pizzazz and Smoky Slate here to create a really fresh colour combination. I can’t help but add Gorgeous Grunge to my projects at the moment, and so I couldn’t not add a splatter of Smoky Slate here. The Birthday greeting comes from the Tin of Cards stamp set which I am so happy has carried over as I just LOVE that font!
These cards all used the same Masking technique that I discussed last week in the Pinkies Blog Hop. The frog is stamped in Archival Basic Black ink onto Thick Whisper White, and once the ink was dry I covered in Fine-Tip glue. I really love this type of masking, although it takes a little while as the glue has to be completely dry before adding any ink. The tags are sponged in Sweet Sugarplum and either Emerald Envy or Dapper Denim depending on the card base colour.
The sentiment is taken from Love and Affection, another new stamp set coming tomorrow!!! Yay!
This card is so fun! I will admit that this Flamingo stumped me when I first came across it in the catalogue. I have had the catalogue in my hands since mid-April, when I attended Stampin’ Up! On Stage, and the girls I was sat with that day will tell you I have absolutely no idea what happened on the stage as I couldn’t pull my eyes away from the catalogue, pen in hand, making notes of things for all of you! But this flamingo, which comes in a set that also includes a Pineapple, had me baffled! And then it appeared in the very short list available for demonstrators available to pre-order, and I didn’t buy it, but then my Facebook and Pinterest feeds filled up with Flamingos, and somehow this dude ended up on my stamp shelf! So, I have it, I MUST use it!
The Flamingo was coloured using the In-Colour Stampin’ Write markers in Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach. I did a test stamp onto Whisper White, and this effect was just gorgeous, I will probably share that at some point – but not today. The Designer Series Paper on the side of the watercolour paper comes from two different packs (sorry!) the Black stripes are from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack, and the other piece with the beautiful gold confetti is from the new Pop of Pink Speciality Designer Series Paper, so super pretty.
This card also features another new stamp set; Love and Affection. I love this stamp set so much that I am making it my Stamp of the Month in June! My Stamp of the Month Club is a totally new adventure for me, and I hope for you to. I am not going to waffle too much today, I do plenty of that in the video tutorial. This card really is simple to create, it really just comes down to cutting and sticking in the right places!

Then once the image is dry, I stamped over them with another new stamp set; Playful Backgrounds. I’m loving this set too! 4 cool backgrounds that you can layer and extend. After stamping I also sponged more ink onto the corner of each piece, the ink that lands on the dry glue just wipes away as the glue acts as a resist, leaving the stamped critters white while the rest of the area is coloured.
Here is the complete set, as you can see I made a couple of boo-boos with the glue on the Ladybirds and the Hedgehogs, but they are still super cute! I will be sharing the other cards I made with the same technique next week after the arrive with my customers.
This card is super simple! You all know how much I love a super simple, quick and easy card. The sentiment could easily be swapped for a birthday, or maybe a going away type of theme, but I have used one from the same stamp set as the starfish – Picture Perfect
These are so super simple to do. I used the paint strokes stamp from Work of Art and inked it up, and stamped it four times down a piece of Whisper White card stock without re-inking it. This creates a great gradient effect, and is a great demonstration of the number of times you can generation stamp with Stampin’ Up! inks. I selected four colours: Island Indigo, So Saffron, Old Olive and Watermelon Wonder. The So Saffron didn’t work quite as well as the others, but I still love the card
These cards would make a great gift, and so I also created this awesome box to hold them and their envelopes too!
