Animal Outing Baby Girl Card

Baby girl card using Animal Outings from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Animal Outing Baby Girl Card

So, I was made an Auntie for the first time last week! Very exciting, although we haven’t had chance to meet baby Maisie just yet… I did make her a card to send with a pack of cute baby grows.

Baby girl card using Animal Outings from Stampin' Up!

I used the Animal Outings stamp set for this very soft card, with a strip of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper. The Kangaroo was stamped in Basic Grey ink, and then coloured with Watercolour Pencils and blended with a damp paint brush. I will admit that I used the retired Archival Basic Grey pad which works well with Watercolour and doesn’t smudge, but you could use Stazon stamped off or Basic Grey over laid with Clear Stampin Emboss Powder.

Animal Outings Baby Card using Stampin' Up! products

As traditional with family cards I stamped the inside too and added another strip of the Designer Series Paper

Inspire.Create.Challenge Merry Christmas To All Card using Stampin' Up! products

StampinByHannah Inspire.Create.Challenge #026 | Merry Christmas To All

Inspire.Create.Challenge 026 Sketch Challenge using Stampin' up! products

I have told you all before how much I LOVE a sketch challenge… and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the Design Team do with this one! I have been pondering on it for a while; trying to work out what I was going to do with that Heart image… in the end I’ve chosen to change it to a circle and die cut it out.

How to make a fun Christmas Card using Merry Christmas to All from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I have been playing around with Designer Series Paper a fair bit recently, I made THIS card for my Brother in Law last week and used a piece of Designer Series Paper to cover the entire front of the card. I liked the effect so much I thought I would do the same here with this stunning Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper.

The Merry Christmas sentiment is taken from the new Merry Christmas To All Stamp and die bundle. How perfect is that glitter-y die cut?! To adhere it to the card, I added some Multi-purpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Glimmer Paper before it was die cut, the adhered it over the top of the die cut circle. To stop it sticky were I didn’t want it to, I covered uncovered adhesive with powder from my Embossing Buddy.

Merry Christmas Die Cut Card using Stampin' Up! products with StampinByHannah

The sentiment is completed with the Christmas heat embossed in White onto a scrap of Tranquil Tide card stock.

Check out the rest of the Inspire.Create.Challenge Design Team’s creations over on the blog, and enter you projects using the sketch to!

Rooted in Nature Sympathy Card

Natures Roots Sympathy Card

StampinByHannah Rooted in Nature Sympathy Card

We make cards for all occasions, including those sad ones… I didn’t actually set out to make a Sympathy Card today, but this sentiment just lends itself to a sadder occasion. The card is still pretty though…Quick and Easy Sympathy Card using Natures Roots from Stampin' Up!

I made this card on Saturday afternoon after having the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set out during my Prep for Sunday’s Facebook Live. I have used this stamp set a lot, but I don’t think I’ve ever inked this 3 cute little trees! Two of the trees are on one stamp, while the other is separate. They are all stamped in Sahara Sand ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White and then stamped again onto the Whisper White layer.

Sympathy Card with Trees using Natures Roots Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow and then hand cut, and popped up on a Foam Adhesive strip, with a trio of Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins added to finish.

Check back tomorrow to see the new Stampin’ Up! Autumn Winter Catalogue!

Best Route Birthday Card

Create a fun layered mans birthday card using Best Route from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Best Route Birthday Card

Today is my youngest Brother-in-Law’s birthday, he’s 17, and so cards aren’t really his thing… however, they are mine, and so he gets one anyway!

Create a fun layered mans birthday card using Best Route from Stampin' Up!

Cards for guys are always a little tricky, however, Stampin’ Up! have made it a whole lot easier with this Designer Series Paper. Best Route is a fun mix of bold colours and generic patterns, all with the hint of a travel theme…. perfect for your Road Trip Scrapbook Album, or some fun cards!

I thought I would have some fun with colour on this one… the entire front is Gray Granite Designer Series Paper while the card base itself is Mango Melody. Usually I made tent fold cards, but they don’t stand very well on my Mother-in-laws slippy furniture, so I went for a more traditional book fold style for this card.

Happy Birthday boys card using Best Route Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

The secret to a good guy card is simple details… Here I’ve created layers using different pieces of the Best Route Designer Series Paper, added a length of ribbon, the sentiment on a Stitched Circle die cut, a trio of sequins and a cute mini paperclip from the Share What You Love Embellishment kit to finish.

The stamping is taken from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set; a fun mix of birthday images and sentiments that work really well for guys birthdays.

Inside boys birthday card using Best Route from Stampin' Up!

I couldn’t not add something to the inside… so I mirrored the Designer Series Paper layers and added a second birthday sentiment in Blueberry Bushel.

I’ve been sharing a whole heap of projects using the fabulous August Exclusive Stamp Set; Blended Seasons this month…. you can find heaps of Blended Season Inspiration over on my dedicated Pinterest Board, as well as in my Facebook Live video from the beginning of the month.

How to use watercolour Pencils and Blended Seasons from Stampin' Up!

I’ve had masses of fun with this stamp set, particularly using the August Exclusive Watercolour Pencils… Today’s video shows several ways to use the Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils and a couple of different effects you can create with them too!

I do have some top tips for using Watercolour Pencils:

  • add pencil to areas where shadows would naturally appear
  • blend out the pencil using a damp paint brush or aqua painter
  • use a Wink of Stella Brush Pen to complete the blending and add some sparkle!
  • You could also use a Blender Pen to blend out the colour

How to create a sparkly look with watercolour pencils from Stampin' Up!

The Watercolour Pencils Assortment 2 and Blended Seasons stamp and die bundle both retire on the 31st August… so grab them today before they go forever!

InspireINK Blog Hop | Smiling with Eastern Beauty

An eastern inspired card using Eastern Beauty from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah InspireINK Blog Hop Smiling with Eastern Beauty

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

Welcome to this month’s InspireINK Blog hop! This month the fabulous Lisa Emslie set us a tricky colour combination… I cannot wait to hop around with you and see what the other ladies have made. For now though, shall we check out my card? oh, and that colour combination!

I spent a LONG time staring at these colours before coming up with anything at all. But, I did settle on using the Eastern Beauty stamp set, and coordinating Eastern Medallion Thinlits. They just seemed to fit together

Embossing with the Stampin' Up! Embossing Mats for the InspireInk Blog Hop with StampinByHannah

The main focus of this card is that pretty Medallion in Merry Merlot Card Stock. The detail has been embossed into the card stock using the Eastern Medallion Thinlits and the Stampin’ Up! Embossing Mats, and the Big Shot. I am loving the Embossing mats, you can use them to create a whole heap of different effects. I have made a video about how this works before, but here is the sandwich you need to use:

Big Shot Embossing Mat Sandwich:

  • Stampin’ Up! Big Shot Platform
  • Clear Cutting Plate
  • Dies laid with the cutting edge up
  • Card stock
  • the THIN blue embossing mat
  • White impressions plate

Because you need the dies laid with the cutting edge up, I find that the easiest way to do this is to place your dies on your card stock as you would usually and then use Washi tape to secure them before turning the whole lot over. This way, you know (particularly if your lining up with some stamping) that your embossing is going to be in the right place.

It’s also worth noting that the Eastern Medallion dies don’t actually cut the medallion from the card stock, and that you need the coorinating Layering Circles Dies to do that bit.

To think of you is to smile Embossed card using Stampin' Up! products

The card is completed with a hint of Bermuda Bay Stamping, the sentiment in Daffodil Delight and some accents of Gold Foil.

I did think that the medallion was a little dark, so I added some Whisper White Ink Splatter. I Love the effect!

Now, check out what the others have made with this tricky colour combination by hitting the NEXT button below…
