Thank you …… Kylie Bertucci!

Stampin' Up! UK Thank you card Crazy About You English Garden

Hello Everyone! I am so pleased to see you. This post is a little bit different from my usual postings, as I am taking part in Kylie Bertucci’s Blog Highlight! This is a totally cool concept whereby you can head over to Kylie’s blog HERE! and see heaps of really cool projects from Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators all over the world and vote for your favourites. Awesome!

So, for those of you who have never been here before, Hi! I’m Hannah and I live in Stockton-on-Tees, in the North East of England. I was thinking about a good way of describing Stockton-on-Tees and struggled slightly, but some pretty cool things have be invented here including the Friction Match, it is the site of the first public railway, and where the second series of Benefit Street was filmed. I think that’s enough about where I live…..

Stampin' Up! UK Thank you card Crazy About You English GardenThis card is actually a CASE of myself! When I went to make a card for this totally cool blog hightlight thingy I really struggled to come up with anything (I’m really fighting with crafters block at the moment, I’m blaming working 44 hours a week as a nurse on a dementia unit, I’m just really tired!). So, I was in my craft room a few days ago, starting to panic about not having anything made yet, and I spotted THIS card from a blog hop a few months ago sat on the card display, and so I thought I would make it again!

I love getting inky, and so this technique is one of my favourites, there are actually four colours in ink blended on this this card; Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo and Rose Red, and then I used Sahara Sand to tone the PINK down a little.

Stampin' Up! UK Crazy About You thank you card

The little pieces of Designer Series Paper are scraps from English Garden, layered along with a piece of the gorgeous white Metallic Glitter tape from Sale-a-bration.

I really hope you have enjoyed this project, don’t forget to pop over to Kylie’s blog to see everyone else’s awesome projects AND to vote!

See you again tomorrow for this weeks Simply Sketched Saturday Blog Hop (This week’s sketch is really cool!)

Happiest of Birthdays to you!

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Blooms Card

I have loved showing my March class cards with you all! Have you booked your place at my April card class yet? check out my Card Class page for all the details

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Blooms Card

This was my favourite card to make, just because I got to colour the flower (again!) but using Stampin’ Write Markers. Now, I tend to use my markers to stamp with rather than colour, as they don’t blender well – however, I have embraced the lack of blending here love the effect.

I love sending a ‘Thank you’ to my customers each month, I always send a card, but if you use the Code Club Code you might find even more goodies in your post! If you have ordered from me recently but haven’t received a card, it may be that you have selected ‘No Contact’ – in which case I am unable to contact you, even to say thanks. If you think this has happened or that I have missed you, please let me know and I will investigate.

Stampin' Up! UK Customer Thank you Cards

Awesome!

Stampin' Up! Thank you Sale-a-bration

So, these cards feature 2 of our Sale-a-bration gifts; the Windflower Fields Designer Series Paper and Perfect Pairings stamp set. March Class Card… Dear Friend

Stampin' Up! UK Dear Friend Birthday Blooms

Last week I shared this card designed for my March card making class, and today I have another card to share

Stampin' Up! UK Dear Friend Birthday BloomsThis card was the most simple card of the set. The flower is in Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride, with the stamp coloured using Stampin’ Write Markers. I love this way of stamping, instead of inking your stamp with one of our fabulous ink pads, you colour directly onto the stamp with the brush end of a Stampin’ Write Marker. This means that you can get several different colours in one image, you just need to remember to use the side of the Brush tip (so not to damage it) and to add the lightest colours first.

The card is finished with a piece of the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and a bow tied from Pool Party Glitter Ribbon

#ImBringingBirthdaysBack

Stampin' Up! UK 2014-2016 in colours birthday card

Have you seen this hash-tag floating around on Social media recently? The lovely Shannon West (from the Stampin’ Up!® home office in Utah) has really started something. She noticed that we just don’t send birthday cards any more! Shocking really, but we have become so reliant on social media (I really don’t know if I would remember half of the birthdays I do without the power of Facebook!) and so sending a birthday card through the post has become a bit lost. You can read more about #Imbringingbirthdaysback on the Stampin’ Up! Website

Stampin' Up! UK Number of years birthday card

Saying that I will be delivering this birthday card by hand later on today (I am hoping that the birthday girl doesn’t see this on social media before then!). It is my wonderful mother-in-law’s birthday today – I won’t say how old she is, I think the card has done that for me! I usually do theme’d cards for my in-law’s as they have a passion for all things VW / 70’s is nice and easy to find something that fits them. However, today is a big day, and I fancied making something slightly more refined and lady-like for such a special occasion.

Stampin' Up! UK 2014-2016 in colours birthday card

I actually made this card a few weeks ago, based on a Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge sketch, but it was far too early to share it back then! I do love being part of the sketch challenge, and will be hopping with the girls again next weekend (excited already!)

The card features the Number of Years bundle and the (almost ready to retire) 2014-2016 In Colours; Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow. I have been loving playing with the number stamps and dies and I have my fingers crossed for a move into the annual catalogue this year! They just make lovely simple classy cards, or something much more complicated if that’s what your in to! Awesome, versatile products (one of the many great things about Stampin’ Up!)

Happiest of Birthday to you….

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Blooms Card Class Watercolour

Over the next couple of weeks I will be sharing some of the cards I designed for my March Card Class. Registration is now open for my April Card Class – just drop me an email for more info!

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Blooms Card Class Watercolour

I loved making this card. You all know how many times I have watercoloured this flower from Birthday Blooms, but this was the first time I coloured it in blue, so soft and pretty. I took inspiration for this colour palette directly from the Designer Series Paper, where the flowers are Pool Party and Mint Macaron. I’m a sucker for colour, one of the many reasons I love Stampin’ Up!®. All the colours are gorgeous and work so well together, even when you might look at them and think ‘hmmm, maybe not’. So, here I’ve used Mint Macaron and Pool Party for the flower, Mint Macaron and Mossy Meadow the the leaves (it doesn’t look so odd in person!), with So Saffron for the centres and Blushing Bride for the halo around the image. I did colour some of the leaves with a light shade of Tip Top Taupe but its hard to see it in this photo

Stampin' Up! UK Birthday Blooms Card Class

The card is finished with a strip of the Desigher Series Paper, a bow of Pool Party Glitter ribbon and one of the cute bow paper clips!

Just a Picture Perfect Note

Stampin' Up! UK Picture Perfect Just a note card

Not all cards we send are for happy events, birthdays or congratulations. A handmade card can say more than words when sent for a different event; sympathy or just a simple Thinking of You. This past week we got some slightly scary news about my grandfather, who at 94 has already battled cancer once and is now having to undergo tests to see if its come back. My grandfather lives 300 miles from me, but has been a massive part of my life, I spent many many days and weeks at his house when I was very small. I really need to get my backside in the car to go and see him, but trying to get a few days off with James to go is tricky. So, I’m made him a card…. now I just need to work out what I’m going to write in it!

Stampin' Up! UK Picture Perfect Just a note card

I’ve been trying to find a card for this bird for a while. Its a stunning image, but it’s so pretty and detailed I needed to find a card that could really let it sing. All the images in Picture Perfect are designed to be stamped in several different layers, and I’ve used 4 different inks on this bird; Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, Lost Lagoon and Island Indigo. I will admit that the layers aren’t stamped perfectly, but I really don’t think it matters, it’s still gorgeous!

I’m still trying to work my way through my mountain of Designer Series Paper, and I managed to get a goodly sized piece on this card. The Matt behind the layer of Very Vanilla card stock is a piece of Designer Series Paper from Farmers Market, just that fabulous pop of yellow really sets off the simplicity of the card.

Going Global Note Cards

Stampin' Up! UK Going Global

I have been loving the Going Global suite of items in this years Spring/Summer catalogue. The suite features a great Stamp set, Going Global, with great masculine, travel themed images and sentiments, while the coordinating Designer Series Paper is a great mix of textures, travel imagery and map prints. There is also a great embossing folder and card stock pack that coordinate too!

Stampin' Up! UK Going Global

A few weeks ago I shared this card with my email subscribers. I love sending my weekly emails to you all, I missed last week (the first week I’ve missed for months!) and for that I do apologise. I managed to schedule myself 7 shifts in 7 days and just couldn’t squeeze anything else in! But, I’ve sorted out my work schedule now and normal service should resume (but as a nurse I have no idea what is round the corner, thank goodness for scheduled posting!)

Anyway, so this card. I trying to work out a list of products that would equate to Sale-a-bration goodies – and seeing as you now only have 1 month left, I thought I would share this one with my blog subscribers too. Sale-a-bration is awesome this year, spend just £45 and get a free stamp set! (or one of the other Sale-a-bration goodies!) and it gets better because if you spend £90, you get to pick 2 free items!

So, you can get all the things to make this card AND get a free Sale-a-bration item! Awesome!

Stampin' Up! Going Global Sale-a-bration

Which means that you could get Perfect Pairings and replace the sentiment with ‘Happy Birthday’ or ‘Congrats!’. Or you could grab ‘What I Love’ and replace the sentiment with a floral image, or a bird or ice cream if you chose ‘Honeycomb Happiness’. I think I would choose one of the new Sale-a-bration products; ‘Pedal Pusher’ and fussy cut the bicycle to add to the travel theme.

What will you choose?

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge – A Rose Wonder Thank You

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge Rose Wonder

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Blog Hop, I’m so glad you joined us today.

This week it was my turn to design the sketch! I have been so looking forward to this bit, I love seeing how creative people can be so I set the girls a tough one this week –  a totally black sketch! I know, it was mean, but did they create some great projects (if you haven’t seen anyone elses creations yet, please use the buttons at the bottom of this post to see what everyone has created this week)

Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge Rose Wonder

Saying that I designed this sketch, you would have thought I would have made my card straight away, and had some marvellous idea! I wish, no this week has been crazy, working 6 days, brand new job, very stressed, and so trying to make a card for today has been a bit of a nightmare to be honest. On Thursday I still hadn’t made anything and so started a quest through Pinterest for some inspiration – nothing, my crafty mojo had up’d and left! Great! But then, I woke on Friday with a card fully formed in my brain, wonderful, mojo returned! and so this was my creation!

Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder Thank you card

I die cut a circle from a piece of copy paper and used it as a mask to ink blend. The colours in the circle are Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red and Pool Party – all added with Stampin’ Sponges, and a very light touch. I stamped the flower before lifting the mask, and added some die cut leaves in Vellum and Whisper White card stock. I adhered these with a glue dots, which you could still see after adding the leaves, so the die cut flower was added to cover my mess!

Please hop on and see what the girls have made this week
