Sitting Here Stampin' Up!

So, we continue our journey through this years Annual Catalogue with another one of my top picks! Sitting Here, I’m a sucker for a stamp set that I can use a heap of different techniques with and while this one is designed to be used with Masking I have also used watercolouring and fussy cutting with this set.

Card CASE Sitting Here watercolour from Stampin' Up! UKI have been eyeing up this card for a while, but haven’t been brave enough to get the Aqua-Painter out to watercolour it!

Annual16_p100_a-330

I chose not to include the dog in my version, although he is super cute, I was trying to keep things simple! The swing seat, cushions and sentiment are all stamped in Archival Basic Black ink, onto Thick Whisper White or Watermelon Wonder for the sentiment.  The images are watercoloured in Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy and Watermelon Wonder.

Simple Card CASE featuring Sitting Here from Stampin' Up! UK

I just love the torn edge at the top of this one, and the burlap ribbon trim!

Garden In Bloom | CASE

Garden In Bloom Stampin' Up! UK

So, I’m continuing my week of CASing the catalogue, and today I’m sharing a card using Garden in Bloom. I just love this stamp set, and while not new it is still one of my favourites. Its a great stamp set for a heap of techniques; its intended as a 2-step stamping set, but I love using it with watercolour, and heat embossing too!

Simple Garden In bloom card CASE Stampin' Up! UK

This card really caught my eye in the catalogue, the more I looked the more details I spotted – Love that!

Annual16_p146_a-30

So, first off there is the stamping; Garden In Bloom stamped in Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Sweet Sugarplum. Then a layer of Vellum, cut slightly smaller than the stamped layer, is added. I love adding Vellum to my cards but adhering it is always tricky. Here the Vellum is attached with a heap of Fast Fuse Adhesive underneath the embellishment, and I also added 3 very small blobs of Fine Tipped glue on white bits of the stamped area – and you can’t see it because it dries totally clear! Yay!

Garden in Bloom Birthday Card using Stampin' Up! UK productsThe embellishment is a combination of a strip of Affectionately Yours Speciality Designer Series Paper, Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon, and loops of Cooper Metallic Thread. All layered underneath the sentiment, along with a bow of Whisper White bakers twine.

Make It Monday | Cupcake CASE!

I have a special week for you this week here on my blog, I’m CASing the catalogue! CASE (or Copy and Share Everything) is actively encouraged by Stampin’ Up! and seeing as there are so many awesome ideas in this years catalogue, I couldn’t not make some of them! Sweet Cupcake CASE Video Tutorial using Stampin' Up! UK Products

I have been suffering from a terrible case of Crafter’s Block over the past few weeks, I have tried to make some bits and bobs but I haven’t like anything I have made. Normally I post every single card I make here on the blog, whether I like it or not, but I struggled to find anything positive to say about any of them! So, when it came to making my Make It Monday project this week I didn’t know what I was going to do! Until I turned to my trusty copy of the catalogue, and a card jumped straight out at me!

Stampin' Up! Sweet Cupcake

You can find the original card on page 23 of this years Annual Catalogue. I have of course made my own edits (which is totally allowed) mostly to aid the translation of the card from 8 1/2 x 11″ card stock using in the USA to the A4 size that we use here in Europe.

I’m loving making my Make It Monday videos, but did you know that I am also making a second video each week at the moment, exclusively for my Email Newsletter subscribers, I have already filmed my card for this week and I am loving it! You can subscribe to my newsletter at any time by using the link at the end of each and every blog post, or by clicking HERE!

Pop of Gold

Swirly Scribbles Awesomely Artistic Thank You Card using Stampin' Up! UK products

I have mentioned many times before about why I love being a part of Stampin’ Up! One of the many things that make it awesome is being able to connect with other demonstrators from around the world. I am a member of a demonstrator group on Facebook, and every week or so the admins set us a challenge – and you all know how much I love a good challenge!

A few weeks ago the challenge was ‘Pop of Colour’ – we were challenged to make a card in Basic Black or Night of Navy and White, adding a single pop of colour.

Now, I was talking about this challenge with my husband James, and he suggested Gold. I rarely get James talking about anything crafty, and his involvement in my stamping hobby is doing my accounts (no hiding any purchases around here!), so for him to actually get involved in crafty conversation meant that I HAD to take his suggestion!

Swirly Scribbles Awesomely Artistic Thank You Card using Stampin' Up! UK products

Now, I usually aim to make simple projects that you can Copy and Share (CASE) without having to spend a fortune on Stamps! However, every now and again I like to go to town and make something really special – and I think this card fits into that category.

Thank you card using Swirly Scribbles Awesomely Artistic Thankful Thoughts from Stampin' Up! UK

The floral stamp in the background is taken from Awesomely Artistic, stamped in Basic Black Archival ink onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. The Black diagonal stripes are taken from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack – I’m really getting into using stripes of Designer Series Paper on my cards at the moment, loving the extra detail it adds.

The swirl (from the Swirly Scribbles dies) is die cut from Vellum, and attached with a hint of multipurpose glue.

Thankful Thoughts Thank You Card using Awesomely Artistic From Stampin' Up! UK

The card was finished with a Thanks sentiment – from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set – heat embossed in Gold, as well as a hint of Gold with the Gold Metallic Thread wrapped around the card at the edge of the Designer Series Paper.

Jars of Dapper Denim

Jar of Love card using Stampin' Up! Uk products

I am loving the Jar of Love bundle in this years Annual Catalogue. It is just so awesome, a combination of pretty flowers, jars, fish, fireflies, and the dies that coordinate – don’t get me started! I shared a lovely card using this stamp set with my email subscribers last weekend, and thought I would share one with you guys today too.

Jar of Love card using Stampin' Up! Uk productsI made this card a few weeks ago when I was playing around with this set, I really wanted to use Jar of Love for the Pootlers Team Blog Hop in June and so I made a heap of samples, and this was one of the cards that didn’t make the hop. I still love it though

You Fill Me with Happiness Card using Jar of Love from Stampin' Up!

The jar is stamped in Dapper Denim onto the card front, and then the flowers, leaves and fireflies are stamped and die cut. I love the dimension created when you add die cut pieces onto a card. I haven’t even added any with Diemensionals here yet they still give depth to the card.

Die Cutting Jar of Love Card using products from Stampin' Up! UKI do have to admit that this card was made before I noticed that the largest jar has two coordinating dies, one for the outside and one for the in. So I used my craft knife to cut a slit at the top and another underneath, to help with the illusion of the jar. I really struggled with the leaves stamped directly onto the jar, it just didn’t look right to me, but I am happy with my solution – but not as happy as when I noticed the  two dies!

Suite Highlight | Fresh Fruit

Fresh Fruit card making suite from Stampin' Up! UK

I having started a new series here on StampinByHannah, looking at some of the Product Suites in the 2016 Annual catalogue, and seeing has I am using the Fresh Fruit Suite in my new Stamp of the Month Club Online Class I thought I would focus on this one today.

You can find Fresh Fruit on page 148 and 149 of the catalogue, and the suite includes the Fresh Fruit stamp set, Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper and coordinating card stock pack, as well as coordinating ribbon and twine.

Fresh Fruit card making suite from Stampin' Up! UK

How cute are these stamps?! I mentioned yesterday about my love of 2-step stamping and this stamp set features this technique too. Each fruit stamp comes with both a line image and the solid inner, to create these fabulous fruits. Oh, and there is more to this set than just fruit, as it also includes two different sized flowers too.

And then there is the Designer Series Paper…

Designer Series Paper Fruit Stand Stampin' Up! Uk

… which includes fruit themed patterns and some stunning watercolour patterns, stripes and polka dots, so pretty.

I have heaps of ideas coming using this Suite this month as Fresh Fruit features as my Stamp of the Month. You Can join my Stamp of the Month Club for the month HERE, my monthly Online card class – Make 8 great cards for all occasions using Fresh Fruit and the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper. Card Kit includes the stamps and Designer Series Paper as well as card bases, and embellishments, written instructions and Exclusive Video tutorials.

Today is a Perfect Day …

Perfect Day Wedding Congratulations card using Bunch of Blossoms from Stampin' Up! UK

Ok, so, it may be raining (or not, I’m writing this in advance as usual!) but I have the Perfect congratulations card for you today!

I am just loving the new Bunch of Blossoms stamp set and coordinating punch. I have mentioned this many many times but one of the things that made me fall in LOVE with Stampin’ Up! is the coordinating products; the stamps with matching dies and punches, the sentiments that fit perfectly into the punches, the ribbon / embellishments / card stock / Designer Series Paper that match the ink colours. Fabulous! And this card is one of those that uses a Stamp / Punch bundle

Perfect Day Wedding Congratulations card using Bunch of Blossoms from Stampin' Up! UKThis great stamp set not only has a coordinating punch, but uses 2-step stamping to create this pretty faux-watercolour look. I’m a sucker for a good technique, and as you know I LOVE watercolour, but having stamps to do all the hard work for you is simply awesome!

Here I have stamped the flowers in Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo, while the leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.

Punch Stamp Bunch of Blossoms Stampin' Up! UKI think that my favourite part of this card though is the heat embossed sentiment on Vellum. This soft look is created by stamping with Smoky Slate onto the Vellum, and because the ink dries very slowly on the Vellum you have time to add clear embossing powder and heat setting it! So pretty

Make It Monday | Fresh Fruit Box

Fresh Fruit Fresh Stand Designer Series Paper Candle Box using Stampin' Up! UK Products

Make It Monday with Stampin' Up!

I have a different sort of project to share with you today. Over the past few weeks I have been sharing card videos for Make It Monday, but today I thought I would make a box instead. I was totally inspired by the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper on this one, when my pack of paper arrived I pulled out all the papers and immediately thoguht of these awesome candles that have been in my candle draw for AGES! and I couldn’t find them – I was so disappointed, but I found a couple last week and so this box was born….

Make it Monday Video Tutorial Fresh Fruit From Stampin' Up! UK

How cute are these?! and although I made them with Giant Tealights in mind I’m sure that these would also fit some of those very nice chocolate balls too.

The box is simple to put together, in a Pizza box style. I didn’t add a thumb notch on the Melon Mambo version but the Old Olive one I used my 1″ circle punch to take out a little piece at the front just big enough to put your thumb nail in for easier opening

Fresh Fruit Fresh Stand Designer Series Paper Candle Box using Stampin' Up! UK ProductsThe flower is taken from the Fresh Fruit stamp set. I’m totally loving the 2-step stamping effect of this stamp set, with the solid layer stamped off once before stamping on the project for a lighter tone, and the outline image stamped at full strength. I’m also enjoying this colour combination; Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive, very fresh – great for Summer (if it ever arrives!)
