3 fun cards using Brushed Blooms and True Love from Stampin’ Up! | Facebook Live Replay

Hello folks! So, I promised I would get this video up on my blog, and thanks to two events over the weekend (InspireINK and Inspire.create.challenge) I knew it wouldn’t happen until today. I hope that’s ok though, better later than never! Anyway, I’ve started to do my weekly Facebook Live’s again on a Thursday evening, at about 19:30, and last week I shared 3 ways to use the fabulous Brushed Blooms stamp and die bundle and the True Love Designer Series Paper. Both of these can be found in the January-June mini catalogue. However both will retire at the end of June.

Handstamped Just Because card using Brushed Blooms and True Love from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I love a black and white patterned paper, just something so clean about it, and paired with a single bright colour (Like Magenta Madness) it really pops. The 2020-2022 In Colours work fabulously with the True Love papers, because they are so bright, a real contrast.

Quick and Simple card using True Love Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The second card was a bit of a surprise to me. I usually avoid fussy cutting, but fussy cutting Designer Series Paper is so much easier than cutting cardstock that actually, I might do it more often! This card was also inspired by my friend Stacy Marsh and THIS card which she shared a few weeks ago.

One of the things I really love about the True Love Designer Series paper is the florals, can you imagine this print coloured with Blends. It would be lovely (side note; I do need to do that at some point…. soon!)

I am really enjoying getting back into my Facebook Lives, and dabbling in blogging again. Although, I am probably most active though over on Instagram. So, do pop over there and search for ‘StampinByHannah’ to see both crafting bits and some general life stuff too!

Inspire.Create.Challenge #089 | Brushed Blooms Just Because

This weeks Inspire.Create.Challenge is a fabulous opportunity to use some really bold colours! I love colour, its one of the reasons I love Stampin’ Up! but these 4 in combination are a little bright, even for me!

However, I decided to embrace the bright, and keep the rest of the card super simple. I have shared a few projects using the Brushed Blooms bundle this week, I absolutely love it! It’s such a shame its not carrying forward into the new Annual catalogue.

This card is completed with a sentiment from Brushed Blooms and a die cut layered flower from the coordinating die set.

Pop over to the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog to check out the other Design Teams ideas with this bright colour combo, and to share your own creations

InspireINK Blog Hop | True Love with Brushed Blooms

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

Welcome to StampinByHannah, and thanks for stopping by on the InspireINK blog hop. This months challenge was a sketch, although I’ve gone slightly off plan (don’t I always!), and added a few extra elements.

I’ve been having heaps of fun with the Brushed Blooms bundle and True Love Designer Series Paper this week. I did a Facebook Live using these goodies on Thursday, and I have another card idea for you using the bundle tomorrow too!

Brushed Blooms Friend card using True Love Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

This colour combination is so lovely; Basic Black, Basic White and Pool Party.

The sentiment is from Brushed Blooms, and I heat embossed it white before using the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut it out.

Quick Designer Series Paper card idea using True Love Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The Designer Series Paper does most of the work on this card. I couldn’t choose just 3 patterns, so I added all my favourites instead!

Inspire.Create.Challenge 088 | Cardmaking Inspiration using Tasteful Touches

So, today’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is to use a card by the lovely Jo Blackman as inspiration. Jo’s card uses some fabulous pieces of Designer Series Paper, but I’m currently in a ‘need a quick card in a hurry’ phase of crafting, and so instead of cutting all that paper, I found some paper with a similar printed effect instead!

Quick and simple card using the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

Again I’ve reached for In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, which I am so happy to see is staying with us into the new catalogue! I am loving all the textures in this paper at the moment and I think it makes some really interesting projects

Inspire.Create.Challenge card using In Good Taste DSP from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiment is from Tasteful Touches, and is die cut from the coordinating Tasteful Labels dies

Inspire.Create.Challenge #084 | Ink Blended Thank You Card

Welcome to StampinByHannah today, I am always so grateful for your visit. Today it’s time for another Inspire.Create.Challenge, and this week we have a fabulous colour challenge for you all.

Stampin' Up! Valentines Colour combination for Inspire.Create.Challenge

I am often inspired by the colour combinations in the Stampin’ Up! catalogue, and this one was taken from the Valentines suite this year. Love You Always can be used for so much more than Valentines though, and I thought it a good time (on Valentines day) to give you a heap of inspiration with the suite that’s not totally loved up!

Pretty Ink Blended Thank You card using True Love Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I shared a couple of Ink Blended cards on Friday, and this card also used the Blending Brushes to create this pretty background. I took a piece of the True Love Designer Series Paper, and blended the two pink tones; Blushing Bride and Rococo Rose using the Stampin’ Up! Blending Brushes.

This Designer Series Paper is so pretty! I love purely Black and White Designer Series Paper packs, just for this reason; being able to add your own colours and totally change the look and feel of it. It’s so fun!

Heat Embossed Thank you card using Heal your Heart from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration with StampinByHannah

The sentiment on this card is taken from the Heal You Heart Stamp Set which is currently FREE with a £45 order during Sale-a-bration. I’ve heat embossed it onto a die cut piece of Vellum, and layered it over a piece of Sahara Sand card stock.

The card is finished with a trio of the Gilded Gems

Don’t forget to pop over to the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog to see the rest of the Design Teams creations and to add your own makes using this lovely colour combination too!

Ink Blending with Stampin’ Up! Blending Brushes

If you’ve been here for a while you’ll know I love an inky technique, and as Stampin’ Up! have recently released their own Ink Blending Brushes I had to grab a set and have a go!

I’ve done Ink blending on the blog before, but always with a sponge, and while I like using a sponge for inky techniques, these new brushes make ink blending super easy.

The Blending Brushes are super soft, and so don’t leave those harsh lines that you can sometimes get with a sponge. I find that they blend colours together really well, particularly if you are using the same brush for two colours.

This first card blends Magenta Madness, Rich Razzleberry and Gray Granite, and I used the same brush for Magenta and Razzleberry. The stamp set here is So Much Love, and its a really pretty subtle floral that I head embossed onto the card stock before ink blending.

The sentiment and card base are both Gray Granite, and I think this really sets off the pinky/purple colours really well.

The dies I’ve used on both of these cards are the Stitched Rectangles dies. I find these so super handy, and the smaller dies are perfectly sized for loads of sentiments.

The Blending Brushes come in packs of 3, which I think is really handy as often 3 colours blended works really well. This second card I’ve blended Bumblebee, Granny Apply Green and Pool Party, for a really fun look.

The Blending Brushes are really easy to load with colour, just tap them onto your ink pads to pick up a little ink. I do tend to tap off once onto some scrap paper, but then its a simple case of using circle motions to sweep the ink onto the card stock. I should add, I do usually start off the card stock and work my way on with the colour, but this is probably just a habit from using sponges.

This card also uses the Sweet Strawberry stamp set. I just love this leaf stamp, it just adds the perfect level of something-ness to a background.

Just For You Sweet Strawberry

The Sweet Strawberry stamp and punch bundle is one of my favourites from this years January-June Mini Catalogue. The stamp set includes both the outline images and solid stamps for strawberries, leaves and flowers, so you can quickly ‘colour in’ the images, with just a stamp!

The strawberries here were stamped in Stazon ink onto watercolour paper. Then I used the solid strawberry stamps to add the Poppy Parade colour. I did then spritz these with water, but to be honest I think you could have done away with that step as it doesn’t add a whole lot to the overall finished card (I just love watercolour effects!)

Sweet Strawberry Just for you card using Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The Designer Series Paper on this card is FREE during Sale-a-bration when you spend £90, and it comes with another coordinating stamp set too! The Designer Series Paper includes images of fruit, florals and patterns, and is so fabulously versitile, it would even work for guy cards.

Quick Designer Series Paper card using Berry Blessings from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

Do you have a card layout you keep coming back to? I certainly do, and this is one of them, with the Designer Series Paper folded back on one side so you can see both sides of the paper at once. I LOVE this one using the Coming Home Bundle, or THIS one using Forever Fern.

The strawberries were added with a punch circle on Vellum with Dimensionals, and then the sentiment was simply stamped in black ink.

Die Cut background using Simply Succulents

Sometimes a card appears in your minds eye even before you’ve bought the stamp set or dies. This is one of those cards. I try to have a few card ideas in my head before I order a stamp set, so that I know that I can get plenty of use out of it. I don’t always manage control my heart, and some stamp sets just land in my craft room, but I try!

Die Cut Background using Simply Succulents and Potted Succulents from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The Simply Succulents bundle includes this fabulous background die. However, it is sized for US card sizes, and so doesn’t quite fit the front of one of our UK cards. But I think I’ve managed to make it work here.

Before cutting this intricate die, I added a piece of Adhesive Sheet. This adds glue to the entire piece of card stock, and so makes it much easier to adhere to the card front. The ombre effect was super easy to create as well, using a piece of the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper which is free with a £45 order during Sale-a-bration.

Die cut thinking of you card using Simply Succulents from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The Sentiment is taken from the Simply Succulent stamp set and die cut with another one of the Potted Succulents dies.

Happy Birthday with Pretty Perennials and the Pootlers Team Blog Hop

Welcome to StampinByHannah and the second Pootlers team blog hop of 2021!

This time we are all sharing projects using goodies from the new Stampin’ Up! January-June Mini Catalogue. I have a bit of a soft spot for a pretty floral stamp set, and so when I saw Pretty Perennials I knew it had to have a space on my craft room shelf!

Handstamped birthday card using Pretty Perennials from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

Today’s card is pretty simple, I used the stamps to create my own Designer Series Paper, and then added a sentiment. The colour combination is so pretty, and not one I use often; Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Pool Party, So Saffron, and Soft Seafoam.

quick and easy birthday card using Pretty Perennials from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiment uses the Birthday stamp from the Pretty Perennials stamp set, but the ‘Happy’ is a die cut from the Well Written dies. I think these pair so perfectly together, what about you?

Thanks for stopping by StampinByHannah today, please check out the rest of the team and their fabulous projects by clicking the links below, and because we have more than 25 blogs taking part… do check out the others on page 2!

Happy Birthday with In Good Taste

On Wednesday I promised I’d share another card using the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. I made this card in a bit of a hurry last weekend for my Father in Laws birthday, and I love that the In Good Taste papers allow you to create a simply, masculine card – quickly!

Simply Masculine birthday card using In Good Taste Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

This card actually uses the Sweet Strawberry stamp set from the January-June Mini Catalogue. I am a bit of a sucker for a bit of heat embossing, and this leaf stamp was perfect for adding a little extra something to this simple card.

The sentiment is taken from the same stamp set; but the stamp normally reads ‘Happy Birthday you sweet thing’… not really what I wanted on my Father in Law’s birthday card. So, I masked off ‘you sweet thing’ with some Washi Tape when I inked it up, and so it only stamped Happy Birthday!
