Make It Monday | Crafting Forever with Blends

Hey folks!

I have had Stampin’ Blends in my crafty stash for a while now, but I have to admit that they aren’t something I have ever really got to grips with. While I was waiting for my baby girl to arrive a few weeks ago I took the opportunity to make a bunch of cards, and to play with my Stampin’ Blends.

Fun Crafting card using Crafting Forever from Stampin' Up! and Stampin' Blends with StampinByHannah

There is a fun new suite of products in the new Annual catalogue which features crafting items, and while I love a new stamp set I already have the Crafting Forever stamp set in my collection and I haven’t used it all that much. So, before jumping to buy new goodies, I thought I better use this one!

Here I stamped the scissors in Memento Black ink onto thick Whisper White card stock, and then set about using the Light and Dark Blackberry Bliss and Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends to colour them in.

I haven’t done massively complicated colouring. Each element was coloured in the light colour, with shadows added in the dark tone. I didn’t really attempt any blending, but even then I think this worked really well.

We are cut out to be Friends Crafting themed card using Crafting Forever with Stampin' Blends from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiment is also taken from Crafting Forever, and is punched out using the Everyday Label punch and raised up on Dimensionals.

Annual Catalogue Designer Series Paper Share!

Hello folks!

Sorry for the silence this week, but on the 11th May 2019 my darling daughter Niamh arrived, and so I have spent the last 2 weeks getting to know her and finding my feet as a new mummy! We are both doing well, and I am feeling more like my usual self again. Yesterday I managed to get the first batch of Catalogues bagged and ready to post, so they’ll be hitting the post office this afternoon. You can get a FREE copy of the new catalogue HERE!

Today though I wanted to let you know about my Annual Catalogue Designer Series Paper Shares.

This year there are 12 stunning packs of Designer Series Paper, and to buy them all it would cost you over £140! However, you can have them all, at a fraction of the price by joining in with my Designer Series Paper Share!

What is a Paper Share?

It’s simple, instead of you buying 12 packs of 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper, you share it with 3 other people, and each person gets a 6 x 6″ share of each pack of paper. So, you still get all the patterns and prints, but in a smaller size!

What do I get?

Each share receives a 6 x 6″ Sample of each and every piece of Designer Series Paper in the catalogue. Each pack is labelled with the name and colours in each pack, AND you will also receive the PDF download of my June Code Club Class too!

Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper Shares Annual Catalogue 2019

How much is a Share?

OK, so each share costs £40, including postage and packing

How do I order?

I believe in keeping things simple (not just because with a new baby my brain is pretty full at the moment!) So, all you need to do is complete the form below. Then, between the 26th May and 3rd June I will send you a PayPal invoice which will need to be paid before 10PM on 3rd June. You don’t need a PayPal account, just a credit or debit card. Once the catalogue goes live I can then place the order for all your papers, and (providing there aren’t any back order situations) I will aim to have your shares out to you within 10 days.

April Customer Thank You Cards

I might have made some changes to my Code Club in May, but my customers still receive a handmade card and sometimes an extra surprise too!

My April customers all received one of these cute cards at the start of this month. It uses the soon to be retired Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, along with a few goodies that are carrying forward too!

Quick and Easy Thank You card using Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I LOVE a bit of Crumb Cake every now and again, and this card is a bit of a tribute to this lovely colour. The main panel of this card is embossed with the very lovely Country Florals Embossing Folder which is available in the new Annual Catalogue if you didn’t get your hands on it during Sale-a-bration.

Cute Thank You card using Petal Palette from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiment is taken from Petal Palette and is stamped in Early Espresso, die cut using the Rectangle Stitched Dies.

Watercolour fun with Butterfly Gala!

Today’s card was totally inspired by the ever talented Debbie Hughes. Debbie does wonderful things with Watercolour, and her cards are always stunning and her recent watercolour butterfly card is no exception. For all Debbie works with another companies products, I could just see Butterfly Gala in her creation, and so just HAD to give it a bash!

Shabby Chic Watercolour card using Butterfly Gala from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

Each butterfly is stamped in Staz-on ink onto a panel of Watercolour card stock. Because of the texture I use my Stamparatus for this job so that I can repeat stamp and get a clear image. I think each butterfly took 3 or 4 goes to get as bold an outline as I wanted.

Then each butterfly was loosely watercoloured. A single colour for each butterfly, Melon Mambo, Blackberry Bliss and Blueberry Bushel, and some coloured splatter added over the top.

Simple Shabby Chic note card using Butterfly Gala from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

Then, once the watercolour was dry, I added an ink blended boarder of Crumb Cake ink around the piece with a sponge. I LOVE the texture this creates on the watercolour paper, so pretty!

To finish the sentiment, also taken from Butterfly Gala, is stamped onto a scrap of Blackberry Bliss card stock and heat embossed in White, some loops of Silver Metallic thread and a handful of sequins scattered across too.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #043 | Accented Blooms Colour Challenge!

Hey folks!

Well, this week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a bright and bold colour combination that I have to admit had me a little stumped at first. However, I do love the card that resulted!

Inspire.Create.Challenge Colour Combination 043 Granny Apple Green Pumpkin Pie Poppy Parade

As always with the Inspire.Create colour combinations we are allowed to add neutral colours and so I’ve added Basic Black to really made these colours POP!

Hello card Accented Blooms Watercolour for Inspire.Create.Challenge using Stampin' Up! products with StampinByHannah

The Accented Blooms stamp set is carrying forward into the new catalogue and since I’ve cleared by Stamp Shelves of items that are leaving us in the Last Chance list its really jumped out at me at a set I haven’t used for a while. Here it’s stamped in Stazon ink onto watercolour paper and then watercoloured with the colours from the challenge.

The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and while it does coordinate with the Tailored Tag punch, I have hand cut it on this occasion.

Watercolour Hello card using Accented Blooms from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

This is where I got stuck! How to finish the card. In the end I plumped for a panel of Poppy Parade card stock embossed using the Country Floral Embossing Folder and a bow of retiring Black Shimmer Ribbon

Don’t forget to pop over to the Inspire.Create blog to check out the other bright and colour Design Team Creations as well as entering your own work into our gallery!

Make It Monday | Stained Glass Technique with Beautiful Day

I am forever inspired by the work of other demonstrators. Last week I shared THIS card inspired by a fellow demonstrator on Instagram, and today I though I would share another card I made after seeing THIS fun card using the Stained Glass Technique from my Demonstrator friend Stacey Marsh.

Fun Stained Glass Card Making technique using Beautiful Day from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

This technique is so fun, and so simple! In fact, I know I’ve shared it before, but this time I’ve made a subtle but significant change.

To start the Stained Glass Technique, heat emboss the large butterfly stamp from Beautiful Day onto a piece of Vellum using White Stampin’ Emboss powder. Then, on the reverse of the vellum, colour the butterflies using Stampin’ Blends. Last time I used Stampin’ Write Markers; which works just as well, however Blends dry quicker and therefore the risk of smudging the ink is much reduced.

Thinking of you butterfly card using Beautiful Day from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

To make the Blackberry Bliss Blend Colouring really POP I the mounted the Vellum onto a piece of Whisper White, and then added this to a card base of Blackberry Bliss.

The sentiment is also from Beautiful Day, and has been heat embossed in White onto Blackberry Bliss. To complete the card, I wanted to add something extra, and in rummaging through my stash of embellishments I found the Clear Epoxy Dots and thought they would be perfect!

Springtime Impressions Thank You Card

I love a simple card, and this card came together in minutes using the Springtime Impressions dies. I am so happy that these are carrying forward into the new Stampin’ Up! Annual catalogue, along with the coordinating stamp set; Abstract Impressions. However they are currently available as a bundle that is retiring, so if you want to save 10% and get the bundle price you need to do so before the end of the month.

Die Cut Thank You card using Butterfly die from Springtime Impressions from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

For all the butterfly die is quite intricate it’s not one I’ve ever had an issue die cutting. Here I’ve simply die cut it from a scrap of Whisper White and adhered in in the middle to a piece of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper.

Thank You Butterfly Die Cut Card using Springtime Impressions and Abstract Impressions from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiment is taken from the coordinating Abstract Impressions stamp set and has been heat embossed in White onto a scrap of Basic Black card stock. I love sentiments like this, they really pop on a card.

I’m sure you could add more layers, ribbon and embellishment to this card, but I wanted to keep things pretty simple today. I would love to hear what else you would add, let me know in the comments below!

Rooted In Nature Encouragement Card

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

I have been in a bit of a creative slump again recently, probably because I’ve spent the first 2 weeks of my Maternity Leave endlessly scrolling through Instagram (not helpful!). However, during my scrolling I have come across a bunch of inspiring cards, and this card was inspired by one of those. I wish I could remember who made the original, but for some reason I didn’t save it.

Rooted in Nature Encouragement Card

You are Wonderful Encouragement Card using Rooted in Nature from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I haven’t had Rooted in Nature off the shelf in a while, and its a shame because it is just lovely! The stamp set is currently available bundled with the coordinating dies to save you 10%, but this will end on 3rd June, so I would be reaching for it sooner rather than later to get that discount!

One of the things I have noticed with my scrolling is that I am totally drawn to cards with lots of layers, and this card is no exception! With the embossed background and then layers of stamped, embossed and die cut pieces.

Fun layered card using Rooted in Nature from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiments in the Rooted in Nature stamp set are lovely, and so I’ve selected this one for our Blog Highlight Encouragement theme! I might just have to pop this card into my hospital bag for the lovely midwives… along with a big box of biscuits!

If you love this card as much as I do I would LOVE it if you would vote for me over on Kylie’s blog, and I hope to see you again soon

Make It Monday | Petal Palette Floating Frame Card

Over recent weeks the ‘Floating Frame’ card has gone somewhat viral on Facebook and Pinterest! I LOVE the idea, but I have to say I am not over keen on spending a fortune on Glad Press and Seal to get the technique to work. So, I had a think about how I could do this technique with things that are already in my craft room…. and hey, Washi Tape to the rescue!

Fun Floating Frame Technique using Washi Tape and Petal Palette from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I also couldn’t miss the chance to use the retiring Petal Palette stamp set one last time before the end of May, although I can already see some new stamp sets that are coming in the upcoming Annual catalogue that will work just as well.

This card has a few steps, and while I rest up and wait for baby to arrive I don’t have the energy to film a video for you. Instead, I thought I would break it down into steps…

How to create a Floating Frame Card…

  • Stamp the Petal Palette floral corner stamp in Memento Ink and use Blends to colour. I’ve used the Blackberry Bliss due and Granny Apple Green, with a hint of Flirty Flamingo here.
  • Use the coordinating dies to cut out the stamped images.
  • Then, using your grid paper as a guide, arrange the floral corners into a sort of loose frame shape.
  • Select 2 of the Rectangle Stitched Dies (I would suggest using two that aren’t particularly close in size) and arrange them on top of the die cuts, creating a frame.
  • Take a long-ish piece of Washi Tape and stick it onto your arm or clothes to remove some of the stick. Then take small pieces off this long tape and stick the dies to the die cuts.
  • Run the floral corners and stitched dies through your die cutting machine.
  • Before removing the Washi Tape, remove the pieces of die cut outside of the frame and add Dimensionals to the frame pieces.
  • Adhere to your card front, and then remove your Washi Tape and dies.
Floating frames card using Petal Palette and Stitched All Around from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiment is take from a different stamp set; Stitched All Around (which is going forward into the new catalogue), stamped in Blackberry Bliss to coordinate with the Floral corners and card base.
