Stock Updates, In Colour and Sale-a-bration!

Hey folks!

I have a few update for you today, and a couple of fun projects for you later in the week! This past week I didn’t post either here or over on my Facebook or Instagram pages, this is the first time I have missed a full week in ages, but there are a couple of reasons:

  1. I am 33 weeks pregnant (today!) and this past week I’ve just been exhausted.
  2. Last weekend, James and I took a lovely trip up to Newcastle to see Saturday Night Fever (which was AWESOME!) but it meant that I didn’t get any crafting time, this combined with the fact that I completely forgot about this trip earlier in the month when I was planning means that I had no content last week!
  3. I’m starting to slow down a little in preparation for our little arrival. I have 4 weeks of my day job left, and so that is my current priority, although I am still crafting when I can, and like I said I have 2 fun projects for you later in the week!

So, you can expect to still see inspiration and ideas from me, but not at my usual rate! I’m also a little behind on my Thank You cards and gifts too… but I WILL catch up before baby arrives!

In Colours…

This is a bit of an advanced warning, but as we approach the end of the current Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue in May we are also approaching that time of year where we have to say Goodbye to 5 of the In-Colours.

In-Colours are 5 in style colours that are added to the Stampin’ Up! colour palette each year, and last for 2 years. So the colours that are due to retire in May are:

  • Fresh Fig
  • Berry Burst
  • Powder Pink
  • Tranquil Tide
  • Lemon Lime Twist

This means that items using these colours are currently in quite high demand, particularly ink re-fills and card stock. These items usually sell out VERY quickly once the Retiring list is announced, So, if you want any of the items that use these colours grab them sooner rather than later!

Sale-a-bration Update!

Hey folks! Wow.. where did this week go! I should have had this blog post up for you yesterday, however, I felt awful and so didn’t get around to writing it (to be honest I didn’t get very far off my sofa yesterday either!). Never mind, I do feel better today, and so have made it up to my craft room this afternoon for a spot of crafting and blog admin.

We are now in the 3rd (and final) month of Sale-a-bration 2019! I cannot believe we are into March already, this year is flying.

Stampin’ Up! Spring Summer Catalogue Team Swaps!

Oh my! I was supposed to get this blog written and up for you last week….better late than never right! Actually, I’m glad I waited because it turned out I had one missing when I shared them with you on a Facebook Live a couple of weeks ago.

I love taking part in card swaps. As a team we tend to have a swap for each new catalogue, and then we also swap at Live events too! Taking part in project swaps are a great way to get heaps of ideas and inspiration, and are a fabulous way of meeting people when we all get together. The next time we all get together as a Team is for OnStage in April, I wasn’t planning on going this time as I’ll be 37 weeks pregnant, but I was convinced by my naughty team leader a few weeks ago… but I wont be swapping (can’t do everything!)

This time we swapped in small groups, so only had to make 5 cards. I made this card using the Needlepoint Nook suite, and shared a video tutorial of it a while ago.

Just Add Ink 445 | Embossing with Country Floral from Sale-a-bration!

I have been having so much fun taking part in Just Add Ink challenges every weekend. This week I’m a little ahead of my usual schedule as I have been off on Annual Leave this past week and so managed to get my card made on Friday!

This week, Just Add Ink has become Just Add Embossing! I have to admit that for all I often Heat Emboss sentiments, my collection of embossing folders often gets forgotten about! However, one of the new Sale-a-bration items is the most gorgeous Embossing Folder, and I spotted THIS card on Instagram on Thursday that I just HAD to CASE! So, this week’s Just Add Ink challenge was right up my street!

This embossing folder is one of those thicker ones, so the dimension is just awesome! Here, I’ve pulled one of my favourite colours of all time, Fresh Fig, and embossed it, layered it onto a piece of Whisper White and then added it to a standard sized Gray Granite card front.

Of course, I haven’t just left it there! Because although this embossing folder is beautiful, the card needed a little extra something. So, I pulled out another product I haven’t used in a while (actually so long, I had to hunt my craft room to find it!), Shimmer Paint! To add a hint of shimmer to the embossed panel, I dabbed Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint onto the panel using a rag… but you could use a sponge, brayer, or your fingers!

Because I really wanted to keep the embossing the main focus of this card, the rest is really quite simple. The sentiment (also embossed as it goes!) is taken from Needle and Thread, and the card is finished with a trio of Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins

March Facebook Live Online Class | Painted Seasons!

Oh I am super excited to share this with you this afternoon! I been toying with the idea of doing some extra classes for a while, and with the Sale-a-bration 2nd Release being so gorgeous I couldn’t resist making a class out of it!

This fabulous stamp and Designer Series Paper bundle is FREE with a £90 order, and it has some coordinating framelits coming on the 1st March too!

While I’ve used the stamps, dies and papers in this class, I’ve designed the class so that you could use an alternative bundle and papers instead!

This class will take place in an exclusive Facebook Group, with the Live video taking place on the 16th March at 11AM. During class we will be making 5 fabulous cards, with the opportunity for you to stamp along, ask questions and share your creations!

So Hoppy Together Customer Thank You Cards

Sorry for the slight delay in today’s blog post… I should have written this yesterday, but I had a terrible bout of Pregnancy Fatigue yesterday afternoon and I just needed to sleep! Things are better today though, and have a day in my craft room planned, so I’m getting this written so that I can get to crafting!

Stampin' Up! Customer Thank You cards using So Hoppy Together from Sale-a-bration 2019 with StampinByHannah

I had great fun a few weeks ago at a local craft fair, it was during the snow and so foot fall wasn’t great. But, it’s OK because it gave me time to make my January Customer Thank You cards! These stamped up really quickly, the time was taken hand colouring all those cute frogs with Stampin’ Blends!

So Hoppy Together is one of this year’s Sale-a-bration free items, that you can earn when you spend £45 between now and the end of March.

I stamped the frogs in Gray Granite ink, and then used both Light and Dark Granny Apply Green Blends to colour them. No fancy techniques, just laying the colour on.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #036 | Lovely Lattice

This week the fabulous Design Team over at Inspire.Create are sharing a whole load of Sale-a-bration inspiration. I’ve been struggling to come up with anything for this one… which is silly because the Sale-a-bration goodies on offer this year are AWESOME! I eventually settled on using the ever so pretty Lovely Lattice stamp set, although did have a disaster with Brusho before this card was born!

The Lattice stamp was stamped twice in Versamark onto Crumb Cake cardstock and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss powder. I then coloured 3 of the flowers on one of the images with Watercolour Pencils, and added some green leaves on the other image.

I have to admit that these flowers are not the easiest to fussy cut, however I think it’s worth it for the overall effect.

Let's Celebrate card using Lovely Lattice from Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration with StampinByHannah

The card is finished with a sentiment stamped on Vellum and punched using the Classic Label punch, a trio of Glitter Enamel dots and full bow of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.
