InspireINK | A Card for a Special Lady…

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

This month’s InspireINK blog hop is dedicated to those special ladies, whether that’s you mum (seeing as Mother’s Day is fast approaching), your best friend, Avon lady, or the woman in the post office!

I decided to keep my card a little generic, rather than explicitly Mothers Day, but you could really easily add a different sentiment to make it suitable for what ever the occasion

Mothers Day card using Time for Tea from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I have been trying to use some of my recently unloved stamp sets. It’s so easy to get carried away with the newest stamps on our shelves, but its really not fair to the others for them to be left out… so this card uses the Time for Tea bundle from the Annual catalogue.

I’ve used the 2-step stamping technique here to create those pretty leaves. The outline stamp was stamped first in Mossy Meadow, then the solid image added after in Mossy Meadow stamped off first. Then, the leaves are die cut using the coordinating dies too!

From me to you card using Time for tea from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The other elements are also take from the Time for Tea bundle, except for that stitched circle (that’s from the Stitched Shapes Framelits… one of my MUST HAVE products!)

I’ve finished this card with a trio of Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons.

Check out the rest of the Blog Hop to see more cards for that Special Lady…

InspireINK Blog Hop | Autumn Ombre with Timeless Tidings

Ombre inking Christmas Card using Timeless Tidings from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah InspireINK Blog Hop Autumn Ombre with Timeless Tidings

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

This month’s InspireINK theme was chosen by the wonderful woman behind InspireINK; Sam Roberts! Sam chose the theme of Autumn…. which first made me think of leaves (don’t have any stamps of leaves really), and then being cold (not the best idea for the start of a card), and then of colours; rich yellows, oranges and reds of the leaves as they change and fall from the trees.

This thought then led me to ombre…. and some silhouette stamping, and so this card was born!

Ombre inking Christmas Card using Timeless Tidings from Stampin' Up!

The focus of this card is that background, which looks like it would be really complicated to do but actually is fairly simple. The trick is a Sponge Brayer; and a stack of ink colours!

I have shared video’s of how to use a Sponge Brayer before, but really all you need to do it ink up the brayer (evenly, which can be the tricky bit) and then gently roll the sponge back and forward across the card stock to transfer the ink. Start at the lightest colour and work your way darker, and only use a little ink at a time to prevent harsh lines.

The colours blended on this card are: Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody, Grapefruit Grove, Calypso Coral, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler.

Ombre inking Christmas Card using Timeless Tidings from Stampin' Up!

Once the ombre effect was complete; I used my Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment and the tree from Timeless Tidings in Memento ink.

I can’t wait to see what everyone else has made with the Autumn theme, check them out using the NEXT button below…

InspireINK Blog Hop | Stitched All Around Embossed Anniversary Card

How to use Stampin' Up! dies to emboss

StampinByHannah InspireINK Blog Hop Stitched All Around Embossed Anniversary Card

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

Thanks so much for stopping by here at StampinByHannah today, I LOVE taking part in the InspireINK blog hops with some of my Stampin’ Sisters. Today the very lovely Sally Shaw has picked our theme; Embossed Anniversary!

This is quite timely for me with my 3rd Wedding Anniversary in a couple of weeks time, I will share the card I make for my husband once he has actually seen it so today’s card is a bit of a twist on the theme. It does feature embossing, but the sentiment isn’t quite anniversary, can you forgive me for that? This card would make a really lovely card for an anniversary though, you’d just need to change the sentiment.

Embossing with cutting dies using the Stitched All Around Bundle from Stampin' Up!

This card uses the fabulous Stitched All Around Bundle, which has a lovely mix of cutting and embossing dies, as well as some really pretty stamps, and I am more than a little in love with that label piece!

To create the background I first stamped a piece of Gray Granite card stock with Gray Granite ink. Then I ran it through the Big Shot with the background die from the set. This die isn’t designed to cut at all, instead it embosses and it works really really well with the new Stampin’ Up! Big Shot Embossing Mats and the following Big Shot Sandwich;

  • Big Shot Platform,
  • Cutting Mat, Die (with the embossing edge facing upwards),
  • card stock,
  • THIN blue embossing mat
  • white impressions pad.

I do have a video on my YouTube channel showing this sandwich if you want to check it out.

Embossed Best Wishes card using Stitched All Around from Stampin' Up!

The circle piece is actually 3 dies layered together, with the heart and smaller circle embossed, before the outer circle was die cut. The card is completed with a heat embossed sentiment on a label cut from Merry Merlot card stock, and a trio of Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins

Do hop along to check out the other Embossed Anniversary card creations, and I hope to see you again!

InspireInk Blog Hop | Creating a fabulous BIG Birthday Card…

Big Birthday Card using Happy Birthday Thinlit from Stampin' Up! for the InspireINK blog Hop

StampinByHannah InspireInk Blog Hop Creating a fabulous BIG Birthday Card…

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

Ok, so this month’s InspireINK blog hop theme was Milestone Birthdays… and while I love a good milestone, I don’t have ANY in my family or friends this year. I think that the next person to celebrate a birthday in our family will be 34 (or maybe 35…. I can’t remember!). Anyway…. I sort of changed Milestone for BIG…. and so this card was created…

Monotone Mint Birthday Card using the Sequin Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!

I haven’t used Happy Birthday Thinlit die in a while… but I am so glad it’s carried forward into the new Annual Catalogue, it just makes some really simple, but really effective birthday cards. Here I’ve die cut it 4 times; 3 time from Very Vanilla card stock, and once from a piece of Mint Macaron card stock that I had added some ink blending to. I have to add that I did pop some Multi-purpose Adhesive Sheet onto the back of the card stock before I die cut it… just makes stacking these die cuts SO much easier!

Mint Macaron Sequin Birthday Card using Stampin' Up! products

I put a heap of sequins into one of my recent Stampin’ Up! orders…. I LOVE sequins on cards, and self-adhesive ones are just fantastic! Then I remembered that I had grabbed the Scattered Sequins Embossing Folder to an order a while ago, and hadn’t used it (I know, it’s shocking isn’t it!) and so I ripped the plastic off it, and ran it through my Big Shot…. for a completely Sequined card!

I can’t wait to see what the other girls in the InspireINK team have created for this challenge…. why not hop along with me and find out!

InspirInk Blog Hop Header Stampin' Up! team blog hop

Oh dear…. I totally dropped the ball in May, I’m usually super organised when it comes to my blog, but this past month I have managed to miss several blog hops that I LOVE taking part in… and I almost missed this one too! It actually should have been last weekend, but I think we all felt May… and so it’s the first weekend of June instead!

This month’s Theme was set by the ever gorgeous Sam Roberts…. and boy did she give us a challenge!

InspireInk Blog Hop cardmaking challenge theme FunFair Carnival

I cannot WAIT to see what the other ladies have made for this one! I spent hours thinking about this theme…. so long that I missed the original deadline! But… creating bold and bright projects for my In-Colour week brought me inspiration, and this card arrived on my desk!

How to make a bright and fun congratulations card with a hot air balloon using Lift Me Up from Stampin' Up!

I haven’t taken the Lift Me Up Stamp Set off the shelf in AGES… and I had forgotten how much I love it! It has the cutest coordinating die set, Up and Away thinlits.

This card is SO bright, thanks mainly to that fun Pineapple Punch card base. The other colours on this card are; Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade.
