Inspire.Create.Challenge #083 | Quick and Easy birthday with Darling Donkeys

Hi all! Gosh, it’s been a mad couple of weeks. Poor baby boy had to have his 8 week vaccinations, and that’s basically had me sat on the sofa cuddling him for the past week, leaving me with no time to craft. However, I did manage to find 10 minutes a couple of weekends ago to have a quick colour of the fabulously fun Darling Donkeys for this weeks Inspire.Create.Challenge.

The theme this time around is ‘Cute Critters’ and we have so many in the Stampin’ Up! catalogues at the moment, I can’t wait to see what you all come up with.

This Donkey is stamped in Memento Black ink, and coloured using both Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends, with a hint of Dark Mossy Meadow and Dark Poppy Parade for that rose.

Darling Donkeys is one of the current Sale-a-bration stamp sets, and is available for free when you spend £45 before the end of February.

I’ve paired this chap with some of the new Colour Family Designer Series Paper in Gray Granite. This paper will be available in the next Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue, or you can get it now if you grab a Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit.

Do check out the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog for more inspiration and to add your own Critter Creations!

Inspire.Create.Challenge #082 Sketch Challenge

Hello! Well, it’s been a hot minute hasn’t it since my last Inspire.Create Design Team post. In reality, we took a bit of a break over November and December, but we are super excited to be back this month, and we are kicking off with a simple sketch challenge.

Don’t forget to pop over to the Inspire.Create blog to check out the rest of the Design Team’s creations, and to add your own makes to the link up too.

Quick and Simple Happy Birthday card using Pretty Perennials from Stampin' Up! for Inspire.Create.Challenge with StampinByHannah

I have been having heaps of fun this month creating with the Brand New stamp and die bundle; Pretty Perennials, and so it was handy on my desk when I came to make my card for this challenge.

As it’s such a simple sketch, I’ve kept my card pretty simple too, with some very simple stamping on a Stitched Circle die cut. The background is my first ink blending attempt using the new Stampin’ Up! Blending Brushes… I LOVE them! They are so easy to use, and create a lovely, soft, ink blended effect.

Simple Stamping Birthdays with Pretty Perennials from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

Then the card is finished with a trio of the Artistry Blooms Sequins.

Thanks for stopping by StampinByHannah today, and please do check out the Inspire.Create blog for more inspiration.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #077 | Alternative Colours with Forever Fern

So, today’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a fabulous colour combination, and one that almost had me pulling Painted Poppies off my stamp shelves. But then I spotted Forever Fern, and I just knew what I wanted to make.

I’ve made a heap of cards with Forever Fern now, but they’ve all been very green! But I’ve seen some lovely cards using different colours with it recently, and although this still has green in it, its less green than some of the other combinations I have used. I do have an idea in my head of using pinks… but I’ll save that for another day.

Each of the colours is stamped off before stamping onto the card, just so it’s not super bright, and the stamping isn’t perfect, but I really like the effect.

The Forever Fern stamp set does have its own coordinating dies, but instead of reaching for those today, I’ve used the Tasteful Labels instead. These two are layered together in the packet, and I really like the look, and it’s translated really well into card stock.

The backing label is in Poppy Parade, along with the stamping, with the aim of moving away from the green. I almost added some sparkles to this card, but I’ve kept it simple in the end.

Don’t forget to pop over to the Inspire.Create blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s creations before adding your own makes using Poppy Parade, Rich Razzleberry and Mossy Meadow

Inspire.Create.Challenge #076 | In the Garden with Painted Poppies

Hello! So, this week’s inspire.create.challenge is a theme, and we’ve got a bit of a spin on floral, in that the theme is Garden. I will admit I’ve gone down a bit of a floral route with Painted Poppies, and possibly more meadow than Garden, but I really like this fairly simple card design.

With Sympathy card using Painted Poppies from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The Poppies are stamped in Memento Black ink, which is my absolute favourite Black ink ever I think. It’s so crisp, and a true black tone, plus its great to use with Stampin’ Blends, which is what I have done here. The Poppies are coloured with both light and dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend pens. Instead of laying down a flat colour, I’ve added the colour in dots which gives this lovely textured look.

Stampin' Blends and Painted Poppies card using Stampin' Up! products with StampinByHannah

The bottom edge is a cut die, cut from Basic Black card stock, such a pretty finish.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #073 | Fancy Fold

Hello! Gosh, I didn’t mean to miss Inspire.Create.Challenge a fortnight ago, but if you saw my Facebook Live last week you’ll know that I might have broken my wrist! As it turns out now, I don’t think it is broken (they didn’t X-ray me at the time), but two weeks in a splint has definitely been worth it because now it’s feel much better.

Anyway, this week’s challenge is Fancy Fold. And once again I sat and stared at the challenge image for ages! I set these challenges, they are all my fault, but when it comes around to actually making something my brain switches off!

But, a fancy fold card I did make! I love this style of card, it’s one I use fairly often for birthdays and special occasions.

Playing with Patterns Z Fold happy Birthday card using Stampin' Up! Playful Alphabet dies with StampinByHannah

Fancy Fold Measurements;

This fun Z fold is so easy to create;

Night of Navy card stock; 14.8 x 21 cm, Scored on the long side at 4.5 and 10.5 cm

Whisper White card stock; 4 x 14.4 cm, 6 x 14.4 cm, and 10 x 14.4cm

Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper; 3.5 x 13.8 cm, 5 x 13.8 cm, and 5 x 13.8 cm

The circles are taken from the Layering Circles dies, and Stitched Shapes dies. I really like that stitched edge, it just adds a nice finishing touch to a boring circle!

Z fold card using Playing with Patterns from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiment is in two parts. The stamp is from Well Said, where the die cut letters are part of the same suite as the Designer Series Paper; Playing with Patterns. I love this die set, Playful Alphabet, it’s got some handy duplicate letters too! Personally, I would recommend the new Adhesive sheets with them though, as they can be a bit fiddly to stick down!

I would LOVE it if you would pop over to the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog, the Design Team have made some fabulous Fancy Folds to inspire you. Also, you can add your own creations to the blog post there too!

Inspire.Create.Challenge #071 | Ornately Green Thanks

Time for another Inspire.Create.Challenge, and this week its a sketch. I do love a sketch challenge, and usually I aim to change some aspect. But this week, I’ve kept things simple, and let the beautiful Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper do all the talking.

Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper Thank you card using Stampin' Up! products with StampinByHannah

I am not usually a green person, but I realised at the weekend that I’ve been using a lot of green recently. I think it’s mainly because both of the packs of Designer Series Paper in my collection are both floral / leafy prints, and this has led me to create green cards.

Pretty Green Thanks Card using Ornate Garden from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper has several pieces with gold foiling, and I love this simple Old Olive and Gold colour combination.

Please pop over to the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog and see what the other members of the Design Team have been creating based on the sketch, and add your own projects to!

Inspire.Create.Challenge #070 | Watercolour with Ornate Style!

This week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge is a fun colour combination (although it did hurt my head a little bit trying to come up with a card this week!).

Inspire.Create.Challenge cardmaking colour challenge Stampin' Up!
Night of Navy, Rich Razzleberry, Coastal Cabana

I’d been in my craft room for a while before I managed to make this card. I’d been trying to sort out my catalogues ready to post, and had YouTube on in the background, and I’m sure whichever card maker I was “watching” did something with watercolour. And so that sort of led me to create this;

watercolour Thank you card using Ornate Style from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

This pretty floral stamp is from the Ornate Style Stamp set, our sneaky peak of the new Annual catalogue. Here I’ve stamped it in Versamark onto Watercolour Paper and heat embossed it with clear powder before watercolouring it with the colours from the challenge.

Pretty floral watercolour card using Ornate Garden from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I wanted to keep the sentiment pretty simple, leaving the focus on the watercolouring. The ‘Thanks’ is taken from the other stamp set in the Ornate Garden Suite, Ornate Thanks. It is simply stamped onto a flag of Vellum with Night of Navy ink. I did leave this to dry for several hours before adding it to the card.

Do pop over to the Inspire.Create Blog to check out what the rest of the Design Team have been creating with this fun colour combination, and add your own makes too!

Inspire.Create.Challenge #069 | Inspiration with Good Morning Magnolia

We’ve got a different sort of challenge happening over at Inspire.Create.Challenge for the next two weeks. Every now and again we are mixing this up with an inspiration challenge, and this time our inspirational card comes from the lovely Liz Yuille.

Liz’s card is actually a fun flip fold, but rather than go down the fancy fold card route today, I thought I’d take her layout to create something a little different.

Can you see how I’ve jumped from Liz’s cute ladybird card to this with Good Morning Magnolia?

Good Morning Magnolia Thanks Card for Inspire.Create.Challenge with Stampin' Up! and StampinByHannah

I haven’t used the 2019-2021 In Colours for ages, and with the new ones just around the corner, I thought it time to pull out one of these fab colours. So, this card is in Rococo Rose, overstamped with the large Magnolia stamp from Good Morning Magnolia in Basic Gray.

The centre panel is a piece of embossed Vellum. Now, I’m really sad about this embossing folder, its the Layering Leaves one, and it’s retiring at the end of this month! I have LOVED having this folder in my collection over the past few years, its been a real staple.

Pretty Thank you card using Good Morning Magnolia from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The rest of the card is pretty simple. A trio of little magnolia’s stamped in Basic Gray and die cut. They are coloured using Watercolour Pencils and a blender pen, for a hint of colour.

The sentiment is also from Good Morning Magnolia, and is heat embossed onto a scrap of Rococo Rose card stock.

The card is finished with a trio of pink jewels from the Nobel Peacock Rhinestones (also retiring)

Inspire.Create.Challenge #068 | So Grateful for Ornate Garden

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah. Today’s post is for the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog, where we have a fun sketch challenge this week. I love a good sketch, they really spark my creativity, and help me out when my crafty mojo has up’d and left (something that’s been happening to me a lot recently!). This week I thought I would use the Ornate Garden Suite, which arrived in my craft room last week and I hadn’t had chance to a play with.

So Grateful card using Ornate Garden from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

This pretty suite is brand new, and a bit of a sneaky peak of the up-coming Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. Ornate Garden contains two wonderful stamp sets, and two very handy die sets, an embossing folder, plus some lovely Designer Series Paper with Gold Foiling, ribbons and some Gilded Gems too.

Here I’ve used one of the Ornate Layers dies, over the Designer Series Paper to create a different background. Then finished with a lovely large sentiment which is perfect for the moment, an embossed circle of vellum, a dinky ribbon bow and one of those Gilded Gems.

Pretty card using a sketch and Ornate Garden from Stampin' Up! for Inspire.Create.Challenge with StampinByHannah

Check out the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog to see the sketch and what the rest of the Design Team have been creating this week, PLUS add your own creations using the sketch as your starter.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you again soon

Inspire.Create.Challenge #067 | Colour Challenge with Peaceful Poppies from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Welcome to another Inspire.Create.Challenge. This time we have a fun colour challenge for you! Now, when I picked these colours I was totally inspired by the Peaceful Poppies suite from the January-June Mini Catalogue. These colours just make my heart happy, as does the suite.

Inspire.Create.Challenge colour challenge Stampin' Up!

My favourite part of this suite is the Designer Series Paper, and the piece I’ve used today is one of those pieces I love so much I struggled to cut it! I’m glad I did though, because I love the card it made.

Thinking of you card using Peaceful Poppies from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

I’ve made a few ‘Thinking of you’ cards recently, particularly while we can’t see our family, I think it’s nice to get a little something heartfelt in the post. This card was stuffed with some baby photos and sent to my mum. I’ve done the same for my mother-in-law and I’ll be sharing that card later in the month.

Thinking of you hand made card using Peaceful Poppies from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah for Inspire.Create.Challenge

My other favourite part of this suite is the dies. They are so pretty, with details like embossed edges, stitching and then this little boarder strip which just adds a great finishing touch.

Pop over to the Inspire.Create blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have created for this fun colour challenge, and share your creations with us too!
