Final Call; Last Chance….

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah!

Tomorrow is a super exciting day, the start of the Stampin’ Up! 2023 Annual Catalogue… but before we get there, I just want to give you one final reminder about the Last Chance Sale!

This card uses the Hand Penned Petals stamp set, and a really fun technique using Stampin’ Blends. When you colour your image, colour in the area of card stock around the image with the same colour as your card base… isn’t the effect so fun!

Hand-Penned Petals is retiring at 11PM TONIGHT! So, PLEASE don’t miss out on this one before it goes… it is such a pretty set. (And there are coordinating dies too!)

Inspire.Create.Challenge #139 | Sketch Challenge…

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for this week’s Inspire.Create.Challenge. This week the lovely Jo has set us a sketch… and what a sketch it is! This one had me stumped for a little bit, but I really love the card I created. Hop over to the Inspire.Create blog to see the sketch and find out what the rest of the Design Team have been up to!

I pulled the colour combination out first; Sahara Sand, Parakeet Party and Orchid Oasis, and then created those diagonal lines but masking and then ink blending.

Both the hexagon die cut and the ‘Hello’ are stamped using Hand-Penned Petals for a little detail. I finished this one with some loops of Linen Thread, but you could definately take this idea further.

Global Design Project 386 | Quick card with Framed Florets from Stampin’ Up!

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah for another card inspired by a Global Design Project challenge. I am really enjoying taking part in a few challenges again at the moment… and am back on a bit of a roll with blogging and videos (just in case you hadn’t noticed!). This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch, and it had me thinking for a few days if I’m honest about how I was going to tackle one of the elements.

The background trio of stamps in Soft Succulent are from the Watercolour Shapes stamp set. I really love this set for an interesting background, its really handy! Here I’ve stamped 2 of the squares in Soft Succulent stamped off once for a slightly softer look.

While I’m taking about Soft Succulent, its worth noting that the 2021-2023 In Colours (Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Fresh Freesia) are due to retire at the end of April. So if you love any of these, it’s worth grabbing the re-inkers and card stock sooner rather than later

The other stamp set at play here is Framed Florets for both the floral stamp and the sentiment. The scallop is from the Penned Flowers dies, how cute is that!

No card is complete with a touch of bling, and this one has a trio of the 2021-2021 In Colour Opal Rounds

Quick and Easy Fun Rainbow Card Idea…

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah! Yesterday was Mother’s Day here in the UK and so I made 2 fun cards for my mum and mother-in-law (yes, they always get the same card!). I loved the card so much, and thought it would make a great birthday card idea… so here it is!

The rainbow background was super easy to put together, with simple 1.5cm strips of card stock, adhered to a piece of Basic White, and then die cut using the largest circle from Stylish Shapes. I would recommend using a wet glue (like Tombow) to attach these, you want to make sure the full back of the piece of covered.

‘MUM’ is die cut from the fabulous Alphabet a la Mode dies. I LOVE this die set SO much! I did add some Adhesive Sheet to the back of the card stock before I die cut the letters to make attaching them to the card easier.

There are a fair few products on this card, so I thought I would list them to make it a little easier;

  • Sentiment from Best Family Ever! (heat embossed in white onto Basic Black)
  • Floral stamp from Hand Penned Petals (stamped in Memento)
  • Background embossed using the dots embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders
  • Bling added using Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Stampin’ Inspiration | Hand Penned Petals for Global Design Project

Hello! Welcome to StampinByHannah. This evening’s YouTube Live was so much fun… although I did make a bit of a boo boo! You can’t see it on the final card though, so really, unless you watch the video you wont know what I did wrong.

Anyway, today’s card is inspired by 2 fabulous challenges. 1. This weeks Global Design Project, and 2. The 30 Days of Christmas Card Making colour combination.

I haven’t used the Hand Penned Petals stamp set for ages… but I thought it would work well for this, particularly with the hint of watercolour on that flower.

The colours here at Polished Pink, Blackberry Bliss and Fresh Freesia, with a bit of Crumb Cake for some balance

Inspire.Create.Challenge #109 | Hand-Penned Petals

Hello there! Welcome to StampinByHannah today! I have a fun card for you this Sunday, for the Inspire.Create.Challenges Design Team. This challenge is using an inspiration piece (which you can find over on the Inspire.Create blog), and I’ve changed it up by using different Designer Series Paper, and different layered elements.

I absolutely adore this Product Suite; Hand-Penned, for this Designer Series Paper and the super pretty Stamp set. I am lover of watercolour and so I stamped this image on watercolour paper and then watercoloured it before using the coordinating dies to cut it out.

To create this card you will need:

Don’t forget to hop over to the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog to see more inspiration using our fabulous inspiration piece.

Inspire.Create.Challenge #101 | Colour Challenge

Keeping it short and sweet for this weeks Inspire.Create blog post… partly because I want you to pop over to the Inspire.Create blog, but partly because it’s half past nine at night and this post is due to go out tomorrow morning! I’m usually a little more organised than this, but I haven’t been in my craft room at all this week and so I haven’t got this post written before.

Inspire.Create.Challenge 101 Hand Penned Petals Congratulations card using Stampin' Up! products with StampinByHannah

This week’s Inspire.Create is a colour combination challenge using; Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Misty Moonlight, Pale Papaya and Pool Party (or the colours from the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper). This soft colour combo led me to create this soft card with the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set, coordinating Designer Series Paper and the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

Pretty Floral handmade congratulations card using Hand Penned Petals from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

My favourite feature of this card is the ultra thin layer of Pale Papaya card stock that sits behind the Designer Series Paper. I just love that hint of a layer!

Please do pop over to the Inspire.Create blog and add your own creations using this pretty colour combination!

Inspire.Create.Challenge #100 | Time for a Celebration!

Good morning! Today’s post is less about the card, and more about what is behind it. Today marks 100 challenges for Inspire.Create.Challenge! I am SO proud of my little challenge blog, and the corner of the internet it sits in, and to be honest I can’t quite believe we have hit 100.

I started Inspire.Create in the summer of 2017, and I had no idea we would still be going 4 years on. We have seen a few changes in the 4 years we’ve been sharing, we’ve seen some Design Team Members come and go, we’ve changed days, and we had a little break this time last year whilst I found my feet with having 2 babies under 2. I have had plenty of change too; with a new day job, moving house, having 2 children, and a few bumps in my health. However; Inspire.Create continues to be a regular feature in my week. I love it just as much now as when I sat and created the original blog 4 years ago.

I had a bunch of plans to celebrate our 100; however life has totally got in my way (thanks to my son bringing home both COVID and Norovirus in the past few weeks, as well as a family holiday and a couple of Stampin’ Up! events). However, I would LOVE it if you would hop over to the Inspire.Create blog today and give he Design Team some love. Please consider making a card to celebrate and sharing it with us too.

Here’s to the next 100!

Global Design Project 310 | Love Ya Sweet Treats!

Well Hello! Bit of live blogging this afternoon. I had meant to share this card earlier in the week, but then somehow never quite got round to typing this post up, and suddenly its Friday afternoon and I just want to share.

This week’s Global Design Project Challenge is a sketch, and I have to say, this one was really tricky! I had so many ideas that I really struggled to pair things back and get a project made. Then I remembered a conversation I had with a demo friend last weekend about the Sweet Treats stamp set, and this card was born!

Valentines card idea using Sweet Treats from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

This stamp set is a bit of a hidden gem, its in the July-December Mini Catalogue, and because it’s not overtly Christmas it’s easy to miss. It does coordinate with another stamp set and die bundle though and so there are heaps of things you could do with it. Here I stamped the cupcakes with Memento ink, fussy cut them, and then coloured them with Stampin’ Blends in Crumb Cake, So Saffron and Flirty Flamingo.

Cute handmade card with cupcakes from Sweet Treats from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

Finished with a piece of Designer Series Paper from Hand-Penned, some Genial Gems, and a die cut from the same suite, this card could be used for a heap of different occasions but I’ve kept things similar with the ‘Love Ya’ from the Sweet Treats stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by StampinByHannah today, please consider subscribing to my weekly(-ish) emails and I hope to see you soon

Global Design Project #307 | Thank you Hand-Penned Petals

Well hello there! Yes, I’m not blogging at my usual 7AM slot today, but I have been trying to write this blog post for 2 days and I just want to share this card!

I get the emails from the Global Design Project every week, and every week I think “Yes, I’ll make a card for that challenge” and somehow it never quite works out. This week its thanks to the 2 year old who thinks that her bed is for jumping on and nothing else! (Anyone know how to get a 2 year old to stay in bed, please let me know the secret!)

Anyway, that’s a bit of topic isn’t it! So, the Global Design Project challenge this week is “Thank you”, and the beautiful Hand-Penned suite landed in my craft room last week and I’ve been itching to play. The two go together beautifully.

I saw a post on Instagram over the weekend about ‘faux embossing’ and I thought that the dies in the Penned Flowers die set (part of the Hand-Penned Petals bundle) would work super well for this. So the background here, is 3 die cuts cut from Basic White cardstock (with Adhesive sheet on the back!) and layered onto a panel of Basic White cardstock. How cool does this look! Love it!

I um’ed and ah’ed for ages about what to layer behind the heat embossed, fussy cut, sentiment piece, and I did nearly just adhere it on and leave it. But then the flowers in the stamp set caught my eye and I thought they’d be perfect.

The Hand-Penned suite coordinates perfectly with the Beautifully Penned Designer Series paper which is currently available for FREE with a £45 during Sale-a-bration (ends at the end of this month!). I love this paper; which is the perfect greyscale version of the Hand-Penned papers and they work wonderfully together.

Thanks for stopping by StampinByHannah today, if you like what you see please consider subscribing to my weekly emails. I’m having heaps of fun writing them at the moment and they always have a fun project idea as well as some other stuff I’m loving each week.
