Inspire.Create.Challenge 039 | Bike Ride For You

You wouldn’t think I set these challenges… because this week had me totally stumped! Inspire.Create.Challenge 039 is a theme challenge, and the theme is pets!

Now, I do have a pet, the very lovely Freda the Cat, and if I had been super organised I would have made a fabulous scrapbook page, or a frame with her in, or something. However, as I mentioned on Monday, this past few weeks have left me a more than a little behind. So, I managed find the time and energy to make this project on Sunday… so reaching for the nearest stamp set featuring an animal!

Inspire.Create.Challege 039 Pet themed card using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

So, Bike Ride it is! This stamp set is so sweet, with that cute dog. The bike is stamped in Poppy Parade and Memento Black, while the dog is actually Crushed Curry and Blueberry Bushel! I just love 2-step stamping and this stamp set is perfect for this fun technique. The dog in particular is stamped using 3 separate stamps, they line up really easily, and it creates this really lovely multi-coloured stamped image too.

The background is an embossed piece of Vellum. I have fallen back in love with dry embossing thanks to the very lovely Country Floral Dynamic Embossing Folder which is currently FREE with a £45 order during Sale-a-bration AND has been confirmed as being carried forward into next years Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.

The sentiment is actually taken from a Christmas stamp set, Merry Christmas to All, stamped in Memento Black ink to match the bike!

International Blog Highlight | Travel with Bike Ride from Stampin’ Up!

International Blog Highlight Travel themed Congratulations Card using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah International Blog Highlight Travel with Bike Ride from Stampin’ Up!

Kylies International Blog Highlight banner

Kylie’s challenge for this month was to create a Travel theme’d project… now, while this makes sense as many Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators gather for a trip to Alaska, it proved tricky for me. I really don’t have many stamp sets with a travel theme! There is a whole suite of goodies aimed at Travel Theme’d projects in this years Annual catalogue… but it hasn’t found it way into my craft room just yet. So, I stood, and stared at my stamp shelves for a while… before I realised I have the perfect travel theme’d set… Bike Ride!

Bike Ride is one of those really cool stamp sets that layers together to make something really great… and works perfectly with the Stamparatus! Here the bike has been stamped in a combination of Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Memento Black.

Because bicycles don’t usually float, I needed to find a why of grounding it on the card… and instead of placing it at the bottom, or adding a shadow with a Blends Marker… I decided to use the Petal Pair’s Embossing Folder. I LOVE the look of this, but it is a little tricky, and has creased the card stock… but I don’t think you can tell too badly!

Fun Congratulations card with a bicycle using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is taken from the Hostess Exclusive Stamp Set Hand-Delivered… I LOVE this font SO much! and the card is completed with a trio of Self-Adhesive Sequins (which I am a little addicted to!)

What’s you favourite finishing touch?

Crafting on a Sunday Morning | Male Appropriate Cards…

Facebook Live Video Tutorial How to make a male card using Animal Outing from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Crafting on a Sunday Morning Male Appropriate Cards…

Stampin' Up! Facebook Live StampinByHannah UK

Every other Sunday morning I go Live on Facebook… and this morning we had heaps of fun making men’s cards! In honour of Father’s Day next weekend, I thought it was about time I gave you some fabulous male inspiration… that was until I remembered that ALL of my guy themed stamp sets retired at the end of May! However, I dug deep into my Stamp Stash… and I think I came up with 3 fun male appropriate cards!

Watercolour Father's Day Card using Basket Weave Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!

This first card would make a perfect Father’s Day card. Sometimes we are over-taken by the need to throw our entire craft room at a card… and while that has it’s place, guy cards ain’t it! I love keeping things clean and simple for cards for the guys in my life. Here the focus of the card is that fun watercolour lettering; layered with a piece of Coastal Cabana (Yum!) and some Basket Weave Embossing in night of Navy.

Fun Bicycle Card using Stampin' Up! products

One of my favourite guy themed stamp sets is Bike Ride…. while it’s not guy exclusive, I use it regularly for men’s cards. Check out the video for how I used the Stamparatus to create this card…

All of the cards in this week’s Facebook Live used my Standard Card Measurements.

Facebook Live Video Tutorial How to make a male card using Animal Outing from Stampin' Up!

The 3rd and final card uses a probably unexpected stamp set; Animal Outing. While this card is designed for children’s cards, I can see heaps of fun cards for adults too. Here it’s paired with the Nature’s Poem Designer Series paper, and hint of Linen Thread.

Don’t forget to check out the video over on my Facebook page to enter this week’s giveaway… and Like my page to be notified the next time I go Crafting on a Sunday Morning!

Bike Ride with a dog….

Bike Ride guy card using Stampin' Up! products

StampinByHannah Bike Ride with a dog….

I have two blog posts for you today… the second is coming to you later tonight, but I made both that card and this one within 10 minutes of each other so I thought I would share them (almost) together!

Cute Dog Card using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

This card uses the Bike Ride stamp set and coordinating Build a Bike Framelits. I have had the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper out on my craft desk recently, and I took colour inspiration from the piece I have used here. Tangerine Tango always reminds me of my step-father in law who owns a classic VW campervan in a very similar shade of orange, which also always seems to lead me to Early Espresso.

The Bike Ride Stamp Set also features one of my favourite stamping techniques; 2-step stamping. The bike is made up of a number of stamps; the bike frame, wheels, wheel rims, seat, handles, and peddles. Oh Hello Friend Dog card using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

The dog also uses a few stamps to create the multi-coloured image we end up with. How cute is this pup with his orange scarf!

The Bike Ride stamp set doesn’t include any sentiments, so I have pulled this one from Oh So Eclectic. It is stamped in Tempting Turquoise to tie into the Designer Series Paper and the ink Splatter in the background

Techniques Series | 2 Step Stampin’

Technique Card Making Video Tutorial 2 step stamping using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

Stamping Techniques Series

This technique is one of my stamping favourites…. 2 Step Stamping. It requires a certain type of stamp, designed especially for it, but it creates stunning results. Stampin’ Up! have a whole heap of stamps designed for 2 Step Stamping…. I will list a few at the bottom of this post… but the one I am using today is Bike Ride.

I was lucky enough to receive this stamp set for free when I attended Stampin’ Up! OnStage last April. It is a fun mix of images, all based around a bicycle…. but I know that there are lots of ways to use it leaving the bike behind. Today though, I am using the lovely bicycle to create two cards; one for the girls, and one for the guys!

Girls and Guys cards video tutorial how to 2 step stamp using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

This stamp set is special because its not just the bicycle that uses 2 Step Stamping, but the accessories also feature the same technique. The girls version uses Flirty Flamingo and Basic Black for the bicycle, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso for the basket, and Pear Pizzazz and Melon Mambo for the flowers. These stamps line up really easily without the need for a stamp positioning tool; like the Stamp-a-ma-jig

Technique Card Making Video Tutorial 2 step stamping using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!Both of these cards also feature a piece of the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper… actually, its the same piece of Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper. I love that our papers are double sided, and quite often I have to debate which side I love more! I have toned down the brightness of the paper here by layering a piece of Vellum over the top, just to stop that lovely bicycle from getting lost.

One of my favourite features of this stamp set is the it comes bundled with coordinating dies…. no need to attempt to fussy cut that bike! All bundles in the Stampin’ Up! catalogue are a great deal, you get 10% off by buying a bundle compared to buying the stamps and dies separately!

The boys version uses Pacific Point, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Tangerine Tango, and replaces the flowers with a stack of books!

Measurements:

Card Base – 29.7 x 10.5 cm, scored at 14.8 cm

Designer Series paper – 7.5 x 12 cm (although it will be shorter than this in the end, due to that fun ripped edge!)

Vellum – 7 x 12 cm

Techniques Series 2 Step Stamping using Bike Ride from Stampin' Up!

I have left sentiments off these cards; partly because I couldn’t think of a sentiment I wanted to use, but also these would be great ‘just because’ cards to send a kind note and make someone smile!
