Hey Love Baby Boy Card

I have finally reached that point in my life when all my friends from university and school are having babies! I know that I’m in amongst them too, but I don’t generally make cards for myself, I do however always send a gift and a hand made card to welcome their new arrival.

One of my university girls had a beautiful baby boy in mid-February, and although I made the card the day she told us he had arrived I didn’t get around to buying the gift until last weekend! So, this is going out a little later than I would have hoped. However, I always buy baby clothes and generally size WAY up (like 6-9 months!) so I know that this isn’t going to be wasted!

At this point I have to admit that I really don’t own that many baby / children’s stamp sets (I know that this is going to change!) and so reached for a stamp set with some really cute images instead. Hey Love is really a Valentines set, but I think it totally works for baby cards too! (or birthdays, or just because!)

I stamped the Otter in Memento Black ink and used Smoky Slate Blends to colour him in, with a hint of Flirty Flamingo for that heart.

Welcome Little One Baby card using Animal Outings from Stampin' Up! with StampinByHannah

The sentiment is from Animal Outings, which Stampin’ Up! doesn’t list as a Baby set, but it does have this perfect Welcome Little One Sentiment.

I thought the card was a little plain, so used the Basket Weave embossing folder to add some texture and finished the card with a cute bow of Whisper White Bakers Twine.

What’s your go to set for baby / children’s cards? I would LOVE to know in the comments box below…

Animal Outing Baby Girl Card

Baby girl card using Animal Outings from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Animal Outing Baby Girl Card

So, I was made an Auntie for the first time last week! Very exciting, although we haven’t had chance to meet baby Maisie just yet… I did make her a card to send with a pack of cute baby grows.

Baby girl card using Animal Outings from Stampin' Up!

I used the Animal Outings stamp set for this very soft card, with a strip of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper. The Kangaroo was stamped in Basic Grey ink, and then coloured with Watercolour Pencils and blended with a damp paint brush. I will admit that I used the retired Archival Basic Grey pad which works well with Watercolour and doesn’t smudge, but you could use Stazon stamped off or Basic Grey over laid with Clear Stampin Emboss Powder.

As traditional with family cards I stamped the inside too and added another strip of the Designer Series Paper

Crafting on a Sunday Morning | Male Appropriate Cards…

Facebook Live Video Tutorial How to make a male card using Animal Outing from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Crafting on a Sunday Morning Male Appropriate Cards…

Stampin' Up! Facebook Live StampinByHannah UK

Every other Sunday morning I go Live on Facebook… and this morning we had heaps of fun making men’s cards! In honour of Father’s Day next weekend, I thought it was about time I gave you some fabulous male inspiration… that was until I remembered that ALL of my guy themed stamp sets retired at the end of May! However, I dug deep into my Stamp Stash… and I think I came up with 3 fun male appropriate cards!

Watercolour Father's Day Card using Basket Weave Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!

This first card would make a perfect Father’s Day card. Sometimes we are over-taken by the need to throw our entire craft room at a card… and while that has it’s place, guy cards ain’t it! I love keeping things clean and simple for cards for the guys in my life. Here the focus of the card is that fun watercolour lettering; layered with a piece of Coastal Cabana (Yum!) and some Basket Weave Embossing in night of Navy.

Fun Bicycle Card using Stampin' Up! products

One of my favourite guy themed stamp sets is Bike Ride…. while it’s not guy exclusive, I use it regularly for men’s cards. Check out the video for how I used the Stamparatus to create this card…

All of the cards in this week’s Facebook Live used my Standard Card Measurements.

The 3rd and final card uses a probably unexpected stamp set; Animal Outing. While this card is designed for children’s cards, I can see heaps of fun cards for adults too. Here it’s paired with the Nature’s Poem Designer Series paper, and hint of Linen Thread.

Welcome Animal Outing

Fun Welcome card with a Kangaroo using Animal Outings from Stampin' Up!

StampinByHannah Welcome Animal Outing

Are you like me, always saving fun card making inspiration you spot on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest? Are you also like me in that you never actually get around to making any of them! I am terrible…. one day I might actually get to spend the day creating using all this inspiration… mind you I did manage to do that for this card. It was inspired by a card I spotted from Debbie Hughes

How to make a fun animal themed Welcome card using Animal Outing from Stampin' Up!

This card was SO fun to make… and I’ve been playing with layers again!

The stitched circle is dry embossed with the Layered Leaves Textured Impressions Embossing Folder before being gentle-y rubbed over with a hint of Mint Macaron and a sponge. The cute kangaroo is from the new Animal Outing stamp set, and I’ve added a hint of colour with some watercolour pencil and a blender pen before fussy cutting it.

I’m sorry that today’s photos are so dark, I’m still playing around with my new camera…. and by the looks of it completely failing to work out the White Balance! oh well…. there’s always next time!
