Oh my goodness, I am rather pleased with this card… particularly because I whipped it up at the last minute on Monday night! You’d think I’d be a bit more organised seeing as I set the challenges, but no, at the moment I’m a last minute Annie. But, last minute is better than not at all isn’t it? I pulled the three colours of today’s colour challenge off my shelf, and the Rooted in Nature stamp set popped into my head, and very quickly this card appeared in my mind’s eye.
This week’s colour challenge is Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive, and each colour is on each one of those fabulous leaves.
I do enjoy a good ink-y technique, and this one is quick and very effective. Ombre Stamping is super easy, and all you need is your stamp, 3 ink pads and a couple of sponges. It does also help if you’ve got well ink-ed pads.
Starting with the lightest colour, load the sponge with ink and the use the sponge to add the ink to the stamp. Then work through the colours, adding each one to the stamp. Breath onto the stamp to reactive the ink before stamping. See, quick and simple, and it gives some very pretty results.
The leaves were then die cut using the coordinating Nature’s Roots dies, and popped up on the card using a few Dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler, and I did use my Stamparatus to make sure I got it straight and solid (I actually stamped it twice, which is why I’ve ended up with a bit of an inky smudge!)
Then, the card is finished with a double bow of Linen Thread and a trio of Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

The thing is Hannah, I’m always having to rustle up a card in ten minutes or so in real life so I really appreciate seeing inspiration for quick, effective cards online. I love your inky leaves with that beautiful bold sentiment and the gorgeous rhinestone embellishments 🙂
